Meeting the people of Sisu at PetrichorLord Syksy oversees a land named Petrichor from a small hill, with his meager escort behind him. From the top of the horseback he sees a vast land of green gold - wood. Other than that, the Northern lands are frost-bitten by the cold morning dew, and only the sound of humming trees and chirping birds catches his attention. There is nothing especially particular, other than that Lord Syksy feels comfort in that he can observe the landscape in silence, his old friend. It's good to be out of the ruckus of the town - finally to be able to hear one's own thoughts, and breath through the smell of pine trees giving out a scent of a living and healthy land. As the day progresses, a distant cloudy smoke starts embracing the dimly sun-lit horizon. Lord Syksy quickly sets up with his convoy to inspect this further, and is met with a forest clearing, where local people are burn-clearing old trees and ground vegetation to fertilize their nutrition-poor farmlands. As the convoy approaches, the people attending 'Kaski', swiddening of the land, awaken to the sudden presence of horses and armed men. A dirt-covered elderly man steps ahead to meet Lord Syksy, who immediately unmounts to meet this man, who apparently holds enough authority to function as their leader. They exchange a conversation with some difficulty as the elderly man speaks with a difficult dialect, albeit it is clear that the root language is the same.  He speaks of a poor yet heartful people, who live in peace with the land and each other, but without luxury and a constant threat of famine. The Elder leads Lord Syksy to their village, 'Sisu', which is located near the burn-fertilized farmlands. The village is small, consists of very basic wooden and only a few more important buildings of stone (such as the mill), but there are no grand castles, no silver or gold, or even the slightest hint of any such luxury. Even a warm bed may be hard to come by during the fiercest winters. He observes just ordinary people striving to live their lives in peace, with simple dreams and meager ambitions of having a family, a small log-house, some farmlands and at most some farmhouse buildings.  If one would closely inspect Lord Syksy's face, he'd notice watery eyes. He very well remembers his humble beginnings, the toils of his dear grand-father - who died a poor farmer, withering slowly away with his lungs succumbing to tuberculosis - despite Lord Syksy's and his father's greatest efforts and buying the most expensive medicine of their time in attempt to save their grandfather 'Tuta'. He pledges to the Elder that should they be able to establish a county and a rule, Lord Syksy would serve the people rather than put a yoke on their shoulders - he expects little or possibly even no taxes, possibly even just expenses.  He vows to the Elder, that he will do everything in his power to help the struggling yet spiritually noble commoners that strive to live in this Northern environment - even if it will become a burden to himself. He feels as if he grew a few years older in the day he spent at the village, and feels guilt of luxury of gold, silver, and ming at home. When they set out to leave the village, he turns back on his horseback to see a dirt-covered little girl standing by the muddy road-like path. Beneath the cover of ash is hidden blonde hair and bright eyes of youth and life to come, and for a moment he is reminiscent of his very own daughter Eleanor. He will return to this place.  There are no great treasures to be found or glorious battles to be fought here - except that of life and mundane happiness. In life there are no guarantees, except death and taxes, and even sometimes death feels elusive. Let the latter be few if any, if it is for Lord Syksy to decide. In the evening back at their base camp, Lord Syksy spends exceptionally long period in solitude writing a letter back home and sends it with a messenger, who rides out to the darkening night.

Basic UI like Buttons for purchase and sale would be very nice. Is it intentional to have to type in commands, to revive the wonderful nostalgia of the early computer games?

How to compose your (Full) Title
Great privileges and punishments promised in the end of post. - - 7. Knowing your proper position in CK is very important and for this reason the matter is given so much Royal emphasis. The Quasquibicentennial Jubilee of Crypto Kingdom is approaching! Before that (1625), we would like all the Titles to be in order, furnished by the characters themselves in the MyCharacter /EDIT mode. We use both carrot and stick to achieve the objective:
Everyone who composes his Title will be given more: DOM, CLXII, W1600M and other most precious drinks. In addition, he will be privileged when more levels, fiefs, titles, knighthoods, honors, medals and badges are given. He may be given more Baronetcies once the initial sale is over. He will also join His Majesty's glory in the 225th Jubilee celebrations. And the perks are better the faster you do it! 
Every noble who does not compose his Title in due time, will not be given more: He will be banned from promotions if the previous ones are not accounted for by his own hand in his Title. No one without a current title will inherit fiefs. (For Peerages of Crypto Kingdom, see googleDB/Peerages). Also he will not be invited to the 225th Jubilee. (Commoners in L1-L5 are exempt from the Title requirements and "Master" is enough for L6.)
After pacing back and forth in circles thinking of a proper title, I have now composed the following preliminary title for myself (I decided to choose Lord over Sir, as I find it rather neat to differentiate myself from the other Earls who so far have utilized Sir):

This heavy-heartedness is due to the fact that his pregnant wife Ester and daughter Eleanor will stay behind in Barons' Row at 1-NE, at the safety of Lord Syksy's home, while the fatherhead of the family will lead the expedition. During his absence, Lord Syksy's elderly father has promised to take care of his businesses and holdings at CryptoTown, who himself is a retired visionary businessman. His grief is lessened by the fact that his ever-faithful and caring sister, Sini Syyskuu [char doesn't exist, title unavailable] has promised to accompany his older brother in his journey, and to help with practical matters once at Petrichor. While not an experienced combatant, Sini Syyskuu is exceptionally adept at organizing practical matters and commanding troops despite little battle experience. This is due to her systematic nature and the fact that she has spent a lot of her life studying ancients texts of art of war, organizational hierarchy, leadership and law. |

Lord Syksy has returned from his travels, and now accordingly presents two of the very first swords crafted in the post-1600 era of CK! PWS-27 - Old Duke's Longsword (owner: James Daniel)Description
James Daniel's sword is a big one, a Longsword with a Very Powerful edge and Elaborate finish. Even with elaboracy, it is still too heavy to be used by the King (who does not have much reputation of a swordsman as he's never been seen with a drawn sword) or HRH Prince Zechariah (who used to be an avid rider and swordsman with 1-handed swords, but those days are long gone with the prince more and more indulged in commerce these days).
Note
The origins of James Daniel Sword are mysterious. A pertinent rumor says that when he reached the age of 14, in 1614, the grandfather had this sword made for him and presented it to him personally. Now the mysterious part is that his known grandfather is the person only known as The Old Duke of the Very Ancient Duchy, who was reportedly alive when his son (the King rpietila I of Crypto Kingdom still reigning) took over in 1400. In the whole written history in the CryptoTown era (1430-) there is no mention of him.

This dress sword nicknamed 'Ensilumi' of the Syyskuu lineage was crafted by Lord Syksy in 1620, when his health started dwindling and the dark veil of death felt looming near for the first time in his life. He wanted to secure that his lineage would live on with heirlooms telling a tale of their family's rich history of both artistic and craftsmans' finesse, thus making such a very elaborate weapon that was also (most) powerful for such a small sword. The inscription 'The Quill is Mightier Than the Sword' is gilded in its hilt made of an alloy of steel and annealed silver, while the blade is made of tempered steel. The family crest depicting a maple leaf made of gold is embedded to the front of the hilt cover.

This sword belongs to the smallsword aka. dress sword category. While it is a heirloom to the Syyskuu family, it is possible that it will eventually find a new owner.

The year is about to change, so it's only proper to plot again some of the key offer trends in Agora market! I've been working on a lighter version of the CKJester database, which I hope to deploy early next year. There a lot of pre-computed statistics are used, so plotting busy items with a lot of unique offers (like HM02B100) no longer chokes up the system. Without further due, I present you a month's view on HM02B100, CON, CAN and BEER! Some pointers: - Something funky happened to HM02B100 on December 15th?! - CON had a small turn around the same time; also there was a CON sale around Dec 4th, which explains some of the drop - CAN's in an all-time low, prob can't go much lower... is now the hyped time to invest in the fabled green herb?! (Notice log-scale) - BEER's stabilized around 4.5k, while it most likely will lower to around 4k eventually (or will it?). Notice that some quantiles are a bit off, since I'm weighting them with the amount of items in an offer in addition to the price, and there are offers like buying 1 million units of BEER for 1 M each (which clearly wouldn't count). Maybe I'll have to add an option to remove some outliers so the (weighted) quantile colors may be more informative. Notice that these are based on offers, not actual conducted sales. Dear all, besides making ART, BEER and writing some guide-drafts (maybe somebody even remembers https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=819073.msg13141509#msg13141509 ), I've been working on the graphical interface to look at CK's offer history. I've now deployed a (free server) prototype at: https://ckjester.shinyapps.io/ShinyThere are some fatal bugs still in it, and some items clog it up really bad ( Beware! HM02B100 is one of these unfortunately atm), but there might already be something interesting there. It's also been a learning process to me. Feel free to test it if you find it interesting. Sadly the free server hosting is very limited and I think even simultaneous users creates issues as it is. In case this happens to take off somehow, I've created the character (corporation) "Jester Corp" to handle issues related to these tools in the future. It is finally possible to create Works of Art (ART-xx items). Rules are as follows:
- K7 = 100*IC, K8 = 200*IC, K9 = 500*IC, K10 = 1000*IC (you basically decide how magnificent the piece is)
- Default year is 1618 but backdating is possible. Backdating may go to earliest 1600, and costs 3% per year compounded (base_ic_cost*1.03^(current_year-item_year). If you are seeking to create an early-1600 ART item, it makes sense to do it asap since 3% per week is an excellent return on investment and it will just get more and more expensive in the future. Items dated 1599 and earlier are Ancient and new ones may never be created.
- Admins will create these unique items for you.
Syksy has consumed 232 pieces of IC to create the following piece of ART-23 to retrospectively commemorate his raise from Master to Baron and his 40th birthday, which both occurred in the year 1613.  Dear all, I'm pleased to announce that the Grizzly Bear Brewery has successfully launched, as many of you have already noticed. I wanted to give the King's 250th anniversary room and the tax issue more attention before posting such meager, secondary announcements concerning the kingdom. Personally I am happy how things launched, and am grateful to everybody who had trust in me/us and invested or helped in other ways (such as Noms who kindly sold a very suitable brewery lot with a very modest price, Crichton who secured us with a S-BB, and of course all the share pledgers who all claimed what they pledged). The paid dividends per share was 250k in year 1617. Notice that since our share was noted at 10mil (only ~2/3 of a CON) yet with 2.5-fold yield in comparison to a CON, I would consider our first year a success. I will do my best to keep this up in the coming years as well. Our current assets at https://www.cryptokingdom.me/player/playerItems/146- Brewery license - Brewery lot (1200sqm, located at 3-S-H4 ; Southern University) - over 225mil in liquid moneritos so we're good to go with the estimated future construction costs of 200mil as well as estimated 20mil in worker costs (taken from Zecharias' estimates). Town map has looked like a tiling exercise for too long. Now, we have a new layer, which will be the default layer. It will consist of any jpg/png pixel images with 3:2 aspect ratio. They will scale automatically over the hidden grid that will still have the lot borders. Each chapelry will have their own image.

The Grizzly Bear Brewery is seeking for investors The lot is my concern here as the cheapest 1200 lot size listed is three connected lots in borough 4 at a little under 150mil--with moo's building estimate of 200mil and the current cost of a license at 400mil--the total is 750mil. I'll buy the license at 400mil which can be converted to shares once the shares are created (I'd GIVE it to sysky then), but think it would be wise to dole out the rest of the shares based on an estimate of at least 350mil in further cost--though a lot donor with a low tax base would be ideal as any upfront costs would be diminished by the lower yearly cost of production. So 75 shares @ 10mil (that could be later increased in need be) would be the new math based on the information available. Also, I would sell 20 shares @ 10mil to avoid having a majority position or take 200mil and 20 shares in exchange for the license. *I bought a license at 370, but still think 75shares @ 10mil is reasonable until the lot details are parsed out. And no one who expressed interest earlier should feel an obligation as I can resell the licence or build a brewery later. A very legitimate point. I will return to this to this asap as soon as I get some more specific details about how the brewery is implemented and what are the related costs. EDIT: I have managed to allocate a lot for our use that is markedly above the required minimum of 1200 sqm. The lot is no longer an issue. |

The planned CEO Syksy has so far pledged to fund the following: GBB company will start with 60 shares (to be created itemID S-GBB) each marked at 10mil per S-GBB for investors. - Syksy pledges to buy 20 shares at a total of 200mil, owning a third of the company initially. In the beginning, the company plans to give out 50% of its produced beer as-is as dividends to its shareholders. The rest, 50% of the produced beer, will be sold in the free markets. Of the profits, 50% will be given as dividends to the shareholders, while the remaining 50% is planned to be held as moneritos in the company for safekeeping for expansion or possible urgent expenses. This is a preliminary plan for the 4 following CK years.EDIT: The annual beer will be sold by GBB. Income (~40mil as described above) after subtracting expenses (~20mil as described above) will be paid as dividends to the share owners. - First off, the company plans to buy a S-BB licence , aiming at either 330mil or 360mil.- A suitable lot is required (1200 sqm or larger) ; It is negotiable that if a suitable lot is donated, this is to be negotiated into a suitable amount of shares. A suitable lot allowing expansion has been found, with discussions asap with gamemaster. - The rest of the money is held for building the brewery and to start functioning. If we fail to collect the rest of the share(holder)s, suitable lot is not found and/or the the license of S-BB fleets beyond our grasp, this offer is withdrawn.
