201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: September 09, 2016, 04:49:14 PM
Indeed been looking at the figures close to buying s9 what it makes on BTC a month to what an ETC/ETC rig can make and blows the generation away since the block reward half in july. No sign of an S9 banking its ROI any time soon. GPU mining on ETH and ETC is about 4 to 6 month brake even and now with the 480s coming out modded bios firmware it is going to be intresting if ETH or ETC goes POS. Wonder what will be next for gpu mining.
Maybe Zcash will be the next profitable coin..

Thats an idea, i've read on some of the ethereum forums that Monero might be another option... Curious to see how it turns out.

Maybe it can be worthfull i saw some of miner are mining eth for good maybe they get what the earnings they want so they continue to mine those, maybe also you should try it so you can find out to yourself that eth mining is worth it or not, and also i dont know what is the turn out of monero mining since i don't have any idea how profitable it was if we select to do so maybe we must do some backreads so we may know the status of monero mining profitability.

I mine both the ETH and ETC, whichever is more profitable as both prices are quite stable recently, not like a few weeks ago.

I expect the ETC price to crash a few days ago. But it did not crash at all. It seems there is strong support for that.

It seems the hacker will not be able to sell the ETC coins very soon. So there is possibility the ETC price will be maintained.

Stantander is old news.  They were the first to sign up to the January tests for the R3 group.

We want to bring the banking establishment to its knees not get into bed with it.

What would happen if Satoshi struck a deal with Goldman Sachs, Bitcoin would be finished!

You just don't get crypto do you?

I think you dont get it. Crypto is there to rise in value to get more fiat back than invested.
What can you buy in a normal shop for btc or etc? Right. NOTHING!

I think differently. I think the crypto currency should be used as a currency ultimatlely. It might be used as investment for now.

I and all my friends also can not use BTC, we do not have any shop in our country which accept bitcoin for their payment, as most of the shop/store keepers are unaware of it.

Yup that is the situation almost everywhere, not many merchants are aware that they can accept payment in bitcoin and the reason is they are not aware how to use it.

I heard the Bitpay and Coinbase have technical supporters for those companies. And first $1 million is free of fees.

Soon mining will only be profitable for the Chinese and people with free electricity.
Here in my place our electricity is free but the problem is i can afford to buy a good miner or set of GPU or CPu. to mine ethereum right now .. and i heard many people that ethereum right is not profitable to mine..

CPU mining is tough (you need top-notch i7, and returns are pretty meh), but gpu mining can go quite well. with free power a r9-290 card (~150usd) will pay for itself fully within 3-4 months

if you already have a desktop, its easy enough to plug in a gpu or two.

That is right. It is better to use the cheap 290 or 390 or even 480 to mine the Ethereum. But the difficulty is rising faster.

We have the choice of mining the two versions of the Ethereum, that is a good opportunities for miners.

I already spend my bitcoin in paying my bills, top up my mobile and also i exchange it to fiat because in my country no stores are accepting bitcoin as a form of payment. I think in the future i can spend bitcoin in my country without exchanging into fiat even in small store i will spend it.

At the moment, I cannot spend bitcoin to buy foods or other grocery. But I can buy thing from online shops.

I have spent some coins in real life to buy some cloud mining. But most of them are not profitable. The difficulty rises too fast.

The Difficulty is really fucked up  Grin
My Earnings went from 100 to 20 :/

Anyways the Price of Ethereum will defenetly rise!

regards

When I started mining, one rig could earn 10 Etheruem a day, now it is less 1 Etheruem. But there is still some profit.

The difficulty has risen too fast. If there is no Etheruemp price rise, I will stop mining in the next 4 months.

The difficulty doubles every two months, in 4 months, the difficulty will be 4 times present value, not many people will make profit.

We just hope the price will also rise 4 times so the profitability is the same. But that might not happen.

I have some R9 290 refurb cards on the way, I have not worked with the 290 yet so how far can you under volt them for how many watts?

The 290 is not as good as the 390. For XFX 390, you can undervolt -200mV with trixx and run at 977 MHz and consume about 160W.
209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Oops Price is 425$ Now... on: May 10, 2016, 10:28:37 AM
i think the price will soon start falling once again because it is still not the time of halving so that was just an ordinary temporary pump that will not hold

i hope that during the halving it will jump to at least a new all time high, but for now we shouldnt expect big price growths
Expect them but they won't be delivered until we get closer to this halving you are mentioning.
It has been this same price for well over a month now and I don't see that changing anytime soon until that happens in June or July. We are pretty far from that date so the price can drop from that time frame.

In May or June, the price could be around $500. Then the price will be pumped to $800 after the halving.

Yeah as quoted the price may rise to $500 before halving. So on halving we can see a price above $1000 which might fall gradually and get stabilized around $800.

That could happen probably. Even the $800 stable price is the double of the present $400 prices.

As long as the bitcoin price is over $850, I am happy. I just want the price to double every year.
For hope the price double in every year is impossible if bitcoin price have potential to double in every year. i guess all investor would thinking bitcoin is ponzi scheme so bitcoin will not life for a long time.

In the early years, the bitcoin price was more than double every year. It is possible for it to double every year for the next 5-10 years.

The price is almost $460. It has risen aboujt 10% in the last few weeks. If it breaks the $470 in the next month, it could go even higher.
