201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 15, 2024, 07:13:42 PM
It's always better to gamble with the money that doesn't impact your or someone else's life because you're literally throwing your money in fire when you gamble with it, you'll either get something in return or you end up burning the money. That's why it's always recommended to think gambling as a way to have some fun time rather than a way to make a lot of money with it.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy is a failure if you are consistent with it on: May 15, 2024, 07:10:35 PM
Martingale strategy is the worst strategy that anyone applies in online gambling. I have lost a lot of money by using that strategy and I never recommend anyone to use that strategy when they are playing casino games.

The Martingale strategy somehow works well in sports betting but it fails you there as well. Even in trading that strategy doesn't work properly. That's why I believe one should try to avoid that strategy at any cost if they don't want to empty their accounts.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I returned my father's property to my father through Bitcoin investment. on: May 15, 2024, 07:04:57 PM
But really my luck is very good I bought bitcoin when it was 30K. Then when the bitcoin market reaches 70K I sell the bitcoins.
I think you might have invested in Bitcoin in early days of October 2023 because in the month of September its value was still under $30k and it even didn't cross $29k.

If your story is true than congrats you have achieved something good by investing in Bitcoin but if it's just created to fish merits then I must tell you that no one will send you any merits for this story.

However, I hope you'll earn better profits from Bitcoin again when you invest in it so you can create and better story and share the results as well. A story without proper results is almost a fake one these days.
204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is "Sell in May" really a good idea (in the case of Bitcoin)? on: May 15, 2024, 06:53:21 PM
So what do you think? Is "Sell in May" a good idea in 2024?
No, I think selling in May isn't a good idea in 2024, we are still in the early days of the bull run and who knows that happens in coming months. There's chance to see Bitcoin surging at new ATH levels in the coming months and the ones who sell now might end up missing some good returns that they might have when Bitcoin's price surges in the coming months.

I believe the ones who already accumulated Bitcoin should hold their coins for at least November 2024 but if the can then holding for 2025's November should be a good decision. If history repeats itself then we may have the highest intensity of Bitcoin in October-December. Most probably in October because if we check the History of last few years then we can see that October has given positive percentages as compare to other months.
205  Other / Meta / Re: What functions do "Staff" forum members carry out? on: May 15, 2024, 06:42:28 PM
Global moderators on the other hand, will show as "Global moderators" everywhere, and have permission to manage multiple boards.
If I'm not wrong then global moderators have the privilege and permissions to delete posts of any board while other moderators are not allowed to delete threads from multiple boards, but they could delete the threads from their own local boards, or from the boards that they moderate.

It's not going to be an easy task to reach global moderation rank as for that one has to be active on the forum for long term and that member has to report posts/threads from various boards. I don't know if I'm right or wrong but the ones who are good at doing that might get chance to be part of the global moderation team.
206  Economy / Reputation / Re: Charles-Tim reported posts on: May 15, 2024, 06:25:24 PM
So far my reported posts are below 100 and the unhandled ones are quite high in number but still I have reported some posts which got deleted within seconds after the report.

Sometimes when I give so much time to the forum, then I try my best to look for the posts that should get reported and most of my reports have gone well so far.

Charles-Tim you have been doing a great job, keep reporting all those posts that deserve to get reported, that will help to make the forum a clean place.
207  Economy / Services / Re: [CLOSED] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: May 15, 2024, 11:27:30 AM
I know it's really hard to believe that Best Change's signature campaign is closed now, but I understand that they are closing it because they want alternative ways to market their platform. I hope Best Change will do something good when it comes to marketing, till then best of luck from my side. I know I was unable to be part of this amazing campaign but still I can surely say that it was one of the top signature campaigns on this forum that was active for long time.

210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day 2024 on: May 14, 2024, 07:09:18 PM
Those who mined it early could have also sold it early when the price rose a little bit, or they could have lost their coins
Yes, the ones who sold it early would be regretting a lot today and the ones who lost it would always be thinking that why they haven't took proper care of their precious coins back then. In 2009-2010 people weren't much aware about the potential of Bitcoin and they cared less about it because it was valueless back then, only few people knew that one day Bitcoin will be much valuable and those few people are still enjoying their lives if they are still alive.

sue me.
Don't worry he won't sue you, he just reminded you that it's a place for Bitcoin lovers. You can talk about altcoins at altcoin discussion board by the way.
211  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit earned by Nigerian Members here in Bitcointalk on: May 14, 2024, 02:43:00 PM
The members of the Nigerian board are very hard working and creative at the same time that's why they earn many merits as compare to others. But, it's not right to say that members of other local boards aren't earning many merits because I have seen members from other boards earning a lot of merits in short period.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day 2024 on: May 14, 2024, 01:38:39 PM
Those times are gone when someone needed to spend 10k Bitcoin to buy two Pizzas now you can buy more than 15k pizzas with 1 BTC. Not 10k but 15k pizzas.

Those who mined it early or bought it when it was cheaper are enjoying their lives now but those who haven't bought it yet could still buy it and have some good returns in a decade or two. Wink
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where are you hyper focus, online casinos or physical casinos on: May 14, 2024, 12:29:57 PM
So between the two where are you more hyper-focused and how many hours do you spend on one compared to the other?
I have never been to physical casinos and I don't even find them useful, I personally like gambling on online casinos because they're good for someone who don't want others to know that he/she enjoys gambling.

With online casino we can enjoy sometime by placing bets and these days when we can do it from home then why we need to go somewhere else. I often place bets on sports book and that's why I'm fully into online gambling and would never ever think about offline casinos.
214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer the crypto online gambling or regular fiat casinos gambling? on: May 14, 2024, 12:25:27 PM
No, I prefer gambling with cryptocurrencies because it's more suitable for me and I don't have to share my card details with casinos neither my KYC details. I also try my best to avoid casino that ask for KYC details, in fact with the amounts that I use for gambling, I don't think it's necessary to get KYC verified.

Those who are high rollers should think about KYC verification but the ones who gamble for fun with $100 to $1000 should not worry much about KYC I think. OP I know you are someone who prefers to gamble with fiat but for me it's out of question to go with fiat.
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney - Sandor Martin Ordered By WBC For The Light Welterweight Title on: May 14, 2024, 11:22:38 AM
It will be a very tough fight for Haney because Sander is a very good opponent and winning him is going to be hard for Haney. I guess this time Haney is going to face the toughest opponent of his entire career, but I still hope he'll perform good if he fights with Sandor Martin.

Devin Haney is good at knocking out his opponents but Sandor isn't an easy opponent. But when it comes to energy then surely we can find Haney much more energetic as he's 25 years old and has enough energy to fight Sandor who's 30 years old. But, from experience perspective Sandor is still on top, and that's why I believe Haney has to reconsider in order to defend his title.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Metaplanet Makes Bitcoin a Reserve Asset As Japan’s Debt Mountain Grows on: May 14, 2024, 11:14:08 AM
I think they have taken a good step by investing in Bitcoin but they could have done better by following some DCA strategy. The Bitcoin might dip further and with a good DCA strategy they might get more Bitcoin for the money they have invested.

However, I believe in future they may follow some kind of dip buying or DCA strategy, so they can accumulate more Bitcoin as reserve asset. It's a good start, and I hope thing will go good for them. I hope they will also hold their reserves for long term, and continue investing more in Bitcoin overtime.
217  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks have money but they don't cooperate on: May 14, 2024, 11:08:11 AM
Friend of mine knew that btc and gold gona go high.
So your friend came from future right? That's not how things work mate because banks don't just listen to those who say that something will move up after sometime and they believe that the upward movement is going to take place in future.

Banks don't give loan to the ones who don't have valid collateral because if that person who takes loan ends up losing the money then how would banks be able to take that money back? Your friend was ambitious, and in ambition he asked banks to give him loan but they refused the loan.

If your friend had valid collateral and he might have offered them the collateral and ask for low interest loan and profit sharing then the banks might consider his application but he had nothing and wanted to borrow money and banks usually ignore such people's demands.
218  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding cryptocurrency on: May 14, 2024, 10:59:30 AM
I just want to say that you need to understand how it works first before you start, thank you.
Very true, it's very important to understand crypto before investing any money in it, without proper knowledge one will only lose money in crypto. There have been so many scam projects in crypto world and we can't stop those but when you do your own research and understand crypto then you can earn some good profits with it.

Trading isn't for anyone, those who trade crypto without understanding trading in first place often lose everything. Most newbies go for futures trading with 10x to 20x leverage to earn fast profits, and instead of earning profits they end up losing their capital, that's why anyone who isn't knowledgeable about trading should stay away from it.
219  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Innovative services on: May 14, 2024, 10:54:13 AM
I have 1.78 BTC should I hold onto that like is there a chance that we may hit a million dollars one day?
Well, no one yet knows that Bitcoin will reach 1M dollars one day or not but we all expect that it should reach and cross 1M dollars one day, and I believe that day might takes a decade in simple words.

Bitcoin hasn't reached 100k yet, but still holders believe in it and see potential in it, that's why they are thinking about holding their Bitcoin for long term.

If you also believe in Bitcoin and see potential in it then you can HODL your coins for long term but if you want to do something else then it's your own decision.
220  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Importance of the META BOARD on: May 14, 2024, 10:43:55 AM
Yes, without any doubt Meta board is one of the most essential boards on the forum but if you aren't sure why that board is present and what type of topics are needed on that board then it's not necessary to post there.

In simple terms Meta board is the place to discuss about topics that are directly related to the forum, and that board has nothing to do with Bitcoin in general. If someone wants to understand the forum deeply, then reading posts on Meta board is going to be much helpful.

Those newbies who want to learn about the forum and aren't sure where to begin their learning then they should look nowhere else than Meta board but if someone who wants to get knowledge about Bitcoin then that person should read topics at Bitcoin discussions and speculation board.
