We are aiming to make the open beta of Belacam go live around 9pm EST. To create an account, you will simply go to Belacam.com once the site is live, and you will be able to sign up.

The real benefits that a large investment firm could bring us are connections, and that's something that bnktothefuture cannot offer. A large VC firm at our back could help us schedule meetings in front of Google, Facebook, and others who might be interested in Belacam's technology and traction. We will be looking to pitch to more investors later this month and in May.

Today, we're working on finishing up some design work on various pages and continuing the process of linking the deposits and withdrawals to an automated wallet. After that, the rest of the work is smaller but tedious things, like integrating the user search and the tag search into one search bar, making it so tags are clickable when written in a comment, and other things like that.

We also just received notice that the partner from Kleiner Perkins had to cancel due to scheduling issues. This means is that we won't be pitching on the 13th anymore. We will be aiming to do some pitches later this month and in May though. Without having to worry about preparing for the April 13th pitch, our team can be laser focused on delivering a great Belacam open beta launch. We will also now have time to get feedback and improve the site before we do our next pitch, which increases our chances of success when we do get around to more pitches.

On April 13th, we will be pitching to a partner from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, one of the largest and most famous venture capital firms in the world. They've been around since 1972 with headquarters on Sand Hill road, just across the street from Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, and others.



They have raised nearly $2.7 billion and know the VC industry like no one else. According to Crunchbase (https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/kleiner-perkins-caufield-byers#/entity), more than 38% of companies that they have invested in have either gone public with an IPO or been acquired.

In 1995, Kleiner Perkins bought 17% of Amazon. In 1999 with Sequoia Capital, they bought 20% of Google. Today, 17% of Amazon is worth $73 billion and 20% of Google is worth $116 billion. There's no denying that they have the connections that we would need to take Belacam to the next level.

In 2015, Kleiner Perkins made their first investment into a Bitcoin-based startup when they invested $12.5 million in Align Commerce (now Veem.com). KPCB has also developed their own blockchain and cryptocurrency for internal use, called 'Edgecoin."

It's extremely rare to see anything besides Bitcoin on Yahoo! Finance. For example, a search of "Ripple Yahoo! Finance" on Google News returns nothing related to the cryptocurrency that has a $2 billion market cap, yet you'll find Belacam and Belacoin on Yahoo! Finance.

This has been fixed. Belacoin.org now links to both Bellachess and Belacam.

We're working to get Belacoin on Changelly and Shapeshift! If you want to help, send them an email or tweet at them asking for Belacoin on their exchange. It helps show the size of the Belacoin community and proves the demand as well.

We're targeting Bittylicious as well. It would be so great for Belacam if we can get Belacoin listed because they will provide a gateway for purchasing Belacoin with a credit or debit card, as you said. We would likely integrate their service into Belacam directly.

We're set up on Project Radium's SmartChain. The Belacoin wallets and other downloadable files that we have in the future can now be verified, so you can be sure that the files come from us. This significantly hinders the ability for others to make a malicious file, claim that it's the real Belacoin wallet, and then give you a virus when you download it.

When we get the chance, we will put an emblem on our site that says "Smartchain verified" and will link to where users can verify the file before they download it. Verify.software is still in its early stages, so we're only going to see its design and technology improve. We're also exploring ways in which we can make Belacam more secure using the SmartChain. Nothing with that will be ready for open beta testing, but we might see some of it integrated by the time that the final full launch rolls around.

The commercial for Belacam is finalized and will be released either today or tomorrow. The commercial reveals the date set for Belacam open beta testing.

We can attest that the community-run site above is real. Hiyatus, while new to bitcointalk, is a veteran in our Slack (Belacoin.herokuapp.com). We've recently seen a few Belacoin community members step up to do their own Belacoin-based projects, and we want to encourage that as much as possible.

We will add the Bellachess link to the Belacoin.org website. The Windows Wallet does get flagged upon download if you have certain antivirus software, but it does not contain a virus. Most users just click "Ignore" when that pops up to bypass the warning. The wallet is safe.

To sync your wallet, follow the instructions here: http://belacoin.org/windowswalletsetup.pdf. Although it's written for the windows wallet, it works with both the Windows wallet and the Mac wallet.

We are more than aware of the barriers that stand in the public's way of accepting and using cryptocurrencies. With this in mind, we've done a few things:

• Belacam is simple and easy to use. We're straying away from making the site too complex. Belacam is very intuitive to pick up, and the 1:1 ratio of giving to receiving just makes sense. No knowledge of the blockchain, mining, or community pools is necessary to use Belacam.
• We have reached out to both ShapeShift and Changelly because that would allow us to integrate an easy Bitcoin to Belacoin exchange within Belacam.
• The ultimate goal is to make it so users can purchase Belacoin with USD directly within Belacam. While that will not be available during open testing, we are aware of how powerful this will be in getting Belacoin more widely accepted.

We agree that Belacam as an app would be best. However, the purpose of open beta testing isn't to be using a completed and finished product. We would love to have Belacam iOS and Android apps for the full final release. Development of the Belacam app should begin in May or June.

In Belacam, users can follow each other rather than "friend" each other. If private profiles are not ready by open testing, they will likely be rolled out during open testing. We will be adding additional features during open testing like sidebar content.

We will likely censor pornographic images during open testing because there are many legal restrictions that begin to appear when we allow that kind of content. Before we can allow it, we will seek legal counseling on how to go about that in the best way possible if we do choose to eventually allow it. Maybe private profiles will be allowed to share pornographic content while others cannot.

Last night, the difficulty on Belacoin spiked from the usual 1,000 range to 5,167. This is likely because for a moment, Belacoin became the most profitable altcoin to mine, so a large mining pool that searches for the most profitable coin to mine likely hooked up to Belacoin, causing the absurd spike in difficulty.

Once the next block is found, syncing and transactions should go through.

Once the next string of blocks is found, your Belacoin should go through and your wallet should sync further assuming that you're still connected to at least one active node. The Windows wallet has an error where it references Belacoin.com rather than Belacoin.org like the mac wallets do. That's why you're seeing the error that says "Host svr.belacoin.com not found." When we get a chance, we will patch that with the right domain name, but our team is currently focusing all of our time on Belacam at the moment.

The prohashing block explorer is the best one to use. You will be able to see your transaction once the next block is found.

During the open beta testing, Belacam will only be accessible by your browser. However, users will be able to reach the Belacam mobile site from their phone.

For the full release, we will be looking at creating an Android app for Belacam. Android apps are easier to make for cryptocurrencies, although Apple has placed restrictions on them. We will be looking more into how we can get Belacam on the iOS app store, but that will likely be done during the summer. Belacam on the iOS app store would be huge for the project, and it's a goal that we are interested in achieving.

If there are any developers, programmers, or computer scientists who would like to contribute, we would love to collaborate with you to make Belacoin better. It would be awesome if we had a team of developers beyond our group that could all work together to improve Belacoin's open-source code.

We could look into things like making Belacoin transactions more anonymous, putting forth our own version of Segwit (or not), and taking on other exciting projects.
