had some spare time so had a look around some of the exchanges

Comparison of some exchanges LTC withdrawal fees:
  • 0.03 LTC - cryptsy.com  (recently reduced, previously was 0.1 LTC)
  • 0.05 LTC - crypto-trade.com  (If you haven't registered yet, get some free XPM before doing so here) Wink
  • 0.10 LTC - mcxnow.com
  • 0.10 LTC - coins-e.com
  • 0.10 LTC - vircurex.com
  • ?.?? LTC - bter.com
  • 0.50 LTC - btc-e
  • 0.10 LTC - upbit.org

I never used btc-e, so just re-quoting you there.

Thanks for the info mate, I think BTC-E is behind the attack on Cryptsy now that they saw there trade volume drop a lot.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone doesn't like cryptsy... on: July 24, 2013, 09:48:55 AM
It is obviously BTC-E, they saw all there users go to cryptsy and want them back.

Because they need to scam more people out of 0.5 LTC withdrawal fees.

i'd doubt that , i'd look to a smaller competitor , but then i don't know .

Look at btc-e's volume in the recent days, it droped a lot after i mentioned to users to switch to alternative exchanges until they get there act together,

209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Support Litecoin? STAY AWAY FROM BTC-E - They are Killing Litecoin's Economy on: July 23, 2013, 10:21:23 PM
I agree.

0.5 LTC per withdrawal is pretty shoddy.

I mean, the network fees went down to 0.02 LTC so there is no reason for them to keep that insane fee.

They just want to halt the growth of litecoins economy, we have to use cryptsy and other exchanges to avoid thiis
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [LTC][EU/US][CPPSRB] Hypernova, your mining pool – 1% fee on: July 23, 2013, 10:20:15 PM
We are about to fully switch everyone to PPS, with a pool fee of 4%.

When ? Tomorrow, the 24th July.

What will happen to the current shelved earnings ? They will be cleared the same way as CPPSRB used to clear the shelved earnings. That means, when we will switch to PPS, you'll continue being paid during bad rounds and your shelved earnings will be backpaid during lucky rounds.
Once the full shelved stack will be cleared, there will be no more shelved earnings. No more.

Will you earn less coin with PPS ? Over a long time with a null variance, yes you'll end up with less coins. Does this mean PPS is shit ? I don't think so. We learnt from our mistakes and CPPSRB isn't for sure an easily understandable reward system. People are used and know well the variance of PPLNS and it's OK. People like the nullvariance of PPS and it's OK. People just don't get the variance involved in CPPSRB as well as PPLNS. That's life.

How will we handle the payouts during the launch of PPS ? That's hard to say, but it's reality : we will use the oldest unwithdrawn funds from our miners. Currently, Hypernova holds about 3300 LTC that fully belong to its miners. We've always been honest at keeping your funds safe and we will continue to do so. That's why we've put since the pool launch a "pool reserve funds" gauge on the account page that is fully working.
A pool like Hypernova needs at least ~1000 || 1500 LTC to fight against the variance of probabilities.
A 4% fee @ 900MH/s should give back to the pool 1400 LTC monthly. So, our unwithdrawn funds will be used for only one month.
Don't worry about payouts. Maybe it's not being said enough but : NEVER KEEP YOUR MONEY FOR A LONG TIME ON A POOL ! A POOL IS NOT A BANK ACCOUNT. WITHDRAWN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE !
This advice is not applied by everyone. Indeed, we see Hypernova's wallet growing from days to days. And it's not related to new miners getting on the pool everyday. Mathematically, we have a good ~10% of our funds that never were withdrawn and it looks like that they'll never be. This is these funds we'll be using to launch the PPS.
That is to say ; I'm sure you all will be able to continue your withdraws. Just be warned you'll start to see the pool reserve gauge going down during the first month.

Thanks for your support, we're always open to debates.

Soak and M0nsieurChat

4% fee? lol. M0nsieurChat Sorry but this is too high, there are pools which offer 3%

If you Support Litecoin, STAY AWAY FROM BTC-E - They are killing Litecoin's Economy

They charge insane withdrawal fee's, 0.5 Litecoin Per Withdrawal!

What does this do?

Most of the users who sign up to btc-e come there because they trust it as the most widely used litecon exchange, look at the volume and Purchase some Litecoin.

Then they try withdrawing it, and BAM they get slapped with a 0.5 LTC withdrawal fee notice, What do they do?

Most sell there Litecoin back and withdraw Bitcoin as fee is 0.001 BTC per Withdrawal,
But others go withdraw FTC as its 0.1 FTC per withdrawal.

0.5 LTC per withdrawal is VERY unnecessary,
1. Because they don't even pay any transaction fees with the amount of aged coins in there hot wallet.
2. Even if they paid transaction fees, They only would be paying 0.02 LTC per transaction on average.

They are Scam Artists, Who knows how much they stunted Litecoins growth and took advantage of being the most widely used exchange already.

I have already posted on the sub reddits i moderate http://reddit.com/r/litecoin and http://reddit.com/r/litecoinmining asking users to avoid it and switch to cryptsy or crypto-trade.com so that they take notice of the drop of volume and are forced to lower there fees.

They did lose a ton of Volume, Other exchanges have seen an exponential growth in there Volume....

What did BTC-E admins do though? They banned all my accounts on BTC-E, Keeping my Coins and Money in there funds, I mean real bans not even trollbox bans.

Then we saw Cryptsy go down due to DDOS attack, now i can't blame BTC-E for this but with this sort of character and with the only persons who could have such motive/will power for this all i could think of it is it is them, But don't let this comment void out my whole point here.

Support The Litecoin economy SAY NO TO BTC-E.

214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [LTC] [PPS] [OTP 2FA] [Stratum only] LTCMine PPS mining pool (3.3%) on: July 23, 2013, 09:22:51 PM
congrats on sorting your fees out, updated http://reddit.com/r/litecoinmining sidebar with 3.3% instead of 2.5%
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lebowskis [LBW] - PoW/PoS Tribute to the Dude Himself! on: July 23, 2013, 09:16:11 PM

I thought this was a joke because it says "This coin pair is under maintenance" and there isn't any LBW in the sidebar.

Which is exactly the same as:

https://www.coins-e.com/exchange/KFC_BTC/
https://www.coins-e.com/exchange/666_BTC/

or

https://www.coins-e.com/exchange/YourMomma_BTC/

So you can put anything in that URL and make it look like it is "under maintenance."

But here is where you should look:

https://www.coins-e.com/exchange/coin/list/

Where it is listed as being "under maintenance." For realz. I guess asking nicely works. Smiley

Don't forget this is the fastest time a coin has been added to an exchange, thus showing how much potential there is and the dev and supporters are not greedy waiting to mine before it hits them Wink i am contacting cryptsy too for them to add it to there exchange and a few other exchanges i know personally Smiley

Will update soon!
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lebowskis [LBW] - PoW/PoS Tribute to the Dude Himself! on: July 23, 2013, 08:06:38 PM
Yeah nearly all clients do that

Interesting... never picked up on it before, what happens if the clients get knocked out of those networks/channels, does it just auto-peer to another network?... where does it get the lists of networks/servers from?... oh I have so many questions... can I find any documentation about this??

Yeah i think it should be hybrid, well on 0.8x clients they don't use irc system anymore, I have no clue though.

217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy down again? on: July 23, 2013, 08:01:35 PM
Typical Move of BTC-E, i complained about there actions and told people to move to cryptsy they saw there userbase move there and then attacked cryptsy

http://reddit.com/r/litecoin

BTC-E charges 0.5 Litecoin per withdrawal and charges only 0.1 ftc per withdrawal and 0.001 BTC per withdrawal to fuck with litecoin users and stunt the litecoin economy growth,

They force everyone to sell there litecoin after buying or give half of a litecoin to BTC-E on each withdrawal,

They are the biggest scam artists out there, they banned my account too not even from trollbox but from the hole exchange with funds still in there because of my campain on reddit.

I hope they rot in hell.

What is the IRC/port 6667 communication for?

Most probably peering
Didn't realize they actually peer'd through IRC networks?    might explain why I used to get a ton of goofy connections when I ran an IRC network heh

EDIT: Indeed this does seem to connect and join #Lebowskis00
... reminds me of a botnet ...

Yeah nearly all clients do that
