201  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: BitCash launch - missed out ??? Not sure why ? on: September 04, 2017, 07:19:00 PM
Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I almost understand ... I know about the 12 word seed (I have that stored safely).

However I don't know anything about electron wallet  Huh Huh Embarrassed

I could have a mess around, but I'm guessing there's a link someone could post

I really appreciate this !!!!! Cheesy

Make sure you've moved the Bitcoin out of the wallet first. I'd use Coinomi instead of Electron Cash.

There's a guide on how to do it here - https://medium.com/@coinomi/collecting-your-free-bitcoin-cash-coins-44fcc6008bb6

Thank you for the submission but I want to ask, what if I had transferred the btc out to another wallet say electrum from blockchain.info can I still claim my BCH? And two what if I now have my btcs in about two or more wallets, does that mean I will have to download several electron cash softwares to be able to use it and get my BCH?

They're now separate blockchains that split on that date. If you had coins in a wallet on August 1st that's the wallet the BCH will still be in regardless of where your bitcoins went afterwards.

After following the instruction of claiming the BCH using the electron cash model, after I typed in the entire 12 seeds from blockchain.info, its still not proceeding to where I get to see my BCH. Is there anything I am missing in the sense that after I input everything the "next" was still disabled.
202  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: BitCash launch - missed out ??? Not sure why ? on: September 04, 2017, 01:52:13 PM
You have not lost your BCash, just use the seed (12 word's phrase that apear on your blockchain.info account) on Electron wallet, and you will be able to convert your BCash to Bitcoin sending it to an exchange (Bittrex, Hitbtc, Poloniex...) and from there make the conversion and send bitcoins to your blockchain.info wallet if you want.

203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is officially banned in China !!! on: September 04, 2017, 12:42:53 PM
All what I am seeing is just a way reduce the continued dominance of bitcoin and find a way to stop it. Although, they have legitimate reasons because most ICOs don't have a workable prototype but some have turned out to be the best. In all Tue market will still need to react to this news because news from that end always dealt some effect on price but hopefully we recover and continue to soar.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as Ransom on: September 04, 2017, 09:21:02 AM
What if you had, let's say....5000 Bitcoins in your custody and suddenly someone demanded it as a ransom in exchange for someone very important to you, would you make the exchange?

When it comes to kidnapping, it's a matter of life and death and this is something I don't toy with but from where I come from, I don't think anybody can kidnap and then ask for bitcoin becuase I doubt if they know what bitcoin is all about and how functional it could be of they are to ask for it. If I have the amount, I would pay for a loved one.

206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the NSA caught Satoshi Nakamoto on: August 29, 2017, 08:43:34 AM
I am not sure this is an authentic way of finding someone or not but I found this interesting.

"By taking Satoshi’s texts and finding the 50 most common words, the NSA was able to break down his text into 5,000-word chunks and analyse each to find the frequency of those 50 words."

* How the NSA caught Satoshi Nakamoto.

I am very sceptical about this kind of research/investigation. What's your take on this? Do you think we can find out real Satoshi with such method?

What I have read there is all about how someone is trying very hard to promote a model or technique on how to get someone and neither has he confirmed that Satoshi was found, or he has been identified what he tries to do is to also create fear that no one is safe on the internet which is true no one is doubting that. But at the same time, I expected more than what is being titled in the thread.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suddenly, Russia Plans To Ban Cryptocurrency Sales To ‘Ordinary People’ on: August 29, 2017, 08:03:23 AM

After reading the news what I see is bunch of confused set of people who don't know how to set their priorities right and are also bent on making some people dependent of elite class for the rest of their lives because that is what this policy is all about and nothing else. The same person who spoke about a mining farm is coming to talk of about a Ponzi scheme I find that more confusing than anything.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: And now Vietnam to legalize Bitcoin on: August 28, 2017, 05:00:24 PM
News like this are those I want to always see in the forum but at the same time, the implementation is what mattered rather than this proposal as I see its not happening any time soon until 2018. I hope to see this come into fruition eventually and see the effect its going to have on the crypto space in general. But at the same time one should be mindful because decisions can change anytime with recourse to those who relied on it.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese never seizes to amaze on: August 28, 2017, 04:05:31 PM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/chinese-producer-embeds-bitcoin-mining-chips-in-household-appliances

To be honest, I was just waiting to see this happening and I'm not surprised that it's the chinese aswell. How effective can this be tho? I mean even if it's a smaller specialized mining chips, so how profitable can they actually be? Also, would you every household appliance like that?

After reading through the article, I must say its something that worth commendation because it seeks to ensure that rather than wasting the appliances away, they could actually be used to generate some amount of income but the concern is who will earn such income and aside that, what if all the bitcoin that are to be mined are been done, what then happens to all the chips that are there already?.
210  Economy / Economics / Re: Forking Dilemma:The ticking time bomb that will render cryptos untenable... on: August 28, 2017, 08:47:20 AM
I understand the fear of the different versions of currency especially in crypto where the ones available have not been fully exhausted and several are still coming out on a daily basis but not all of them are fighting to be a currency because majority are just stocks of companies running a business just like what we have in the fiat stock market that all stock of companies does not interpret to currency just like that.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cartel manipulating mining difficulty? on: August 28, 2017, 07:33:13 AM
I am really getting sick and tired of how there are several news about the cartels because the cartels are in business to make money and they will do everything possible to achieve that objective and that's exactly what they are doing but what we can do about it is not to make noise on forums which cannot change anything but ensuring that other massive organisations are influenced to come so as to break the chain of all this domineering factors exhibited by the cartels.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do to prevent bitcoin from crashing? on: August 28, 2017, 06:07:44 AM
Really there is hardly anything we can do to stop it from dropping in price because its by default that will happen but what we can do something about is not letting it result into a crash which is why we should not give in to panic decision making activities by engaging in massive offload of our wallets. With this we are sure to be back on track.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as Online Gaming Currency on: August 28, 2017, 05:33:13 AM
For online gamers and at the same time bitcoiners, don't you think it's fun if online games will adapt bitcoin as their currencies?

MMORPG will be much fun if bitcoin will be used to purchase items/gears you're longing to acquire.

Selling items you have exerted effort to farm and you will receive btc as payment is quite exciting.

I'm referring to direct trading in the market of any MMORPG using BTC.

Just a thought though :-)
This is something that is not only possible but achievable and I have seen some projects in that direction in the alt section of the forum, dmarket.io is actually looking in that direction but the one mainly denominated in btc is something I am yet to see but its going to be a move in that direction.
214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin go to 5000$ after SegWit activation? on: August 27, 2017, 09:12:06 PM
Hoping that bitcoin will reach $5000 because of SegWit activation, will be a long wait I can't begin to imagine because even as at now, the sole purpose of SegWit which is lower fees and faster transaction rate is currently becoming a myth and to now start predicting its effect on price, will mean we have to wait a little longer if things will turn around.
215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cashing out could destroy crypto? on: August 27, 2017, 08:31:25 PM
Just wondering, Bitcoin started as a project to offer people freedom from bankster/government fiat and the banking system. Yet almost every single person involved in Bitcoin is using it to try to get more of that very thing Bitcoin was designed to 'get rid of'.

I never cared for Bitcoin as an investment vehicle, it's a tool that offers people financial freedom and independance.
Yes tell me again how stupid i was selling cheap and how bad i should feel, notice how i don't care.
Because for me Bitcoin was never about making more Dollars.

If none of the horrible things that are waiting for us in the future will ruin bitcoin, maybe the mindset of people just wanting Bitcoin to gain more fiat will be even more devastating.

This mindset seems to have been increasing for years now...
People don't even ask me anymore how it works or why it was invented, all they care about is how to make fiat with it. My answer is always the same... "Bitcoin is not a good investment for you, only invest in things you understand and believe in."

Your argument is right in that people are now more focused on converting bitcoin to fiat using the banking system in which the objective of bitcoin is to dislodge but at the same time the bank has equally helped in no small way ensuring people get access to bitcoin because they are used to fiat which they then use to buy bitcoin.
216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hoping for Bitcoin to drop on: August 27, 2017, 07:46:12 PM
With the price of Bitcoin at now, we cannot predict the next trend of it because still have many reason make the price of Bitcoin up or down.
So, I will choose wait Bitcoin for keep safe my money, transfer my Bitcoin or try trade earn profit just make me feeling confused.
There are some possibilities for minor corrections from this stage but you can see a quick bounce back also. If you do not want to miss out then buying for some percentage right now will be helping you to secure when bitcoin may hit $5000 levels without any corrections. Otherwise putting buying order around $4000 or $3950 may help you to catch some possible lower prices.

Even buying right now for $4300 and later on for ~5000 can still be very profitable. Mining train has passed but the investing train is still taking off so it's still not late to invest larger sum of money.

The price of btc is meant to rise and that's what anybody intending to buy should be conscious about. We have seen price risen as high as close to $4500 but now $4300 which means it has drop for someone to take advantage of but thinking that it will fall to the $2000 before buying might mean waiting till forever to see that happen. Its not impossible but its difficult.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin is myspace, bitcoin cash is facebook. on: August 27, 2017, 07:08:31 PM
Just look how ridiculous it is... we have segwit activated, but it will be the same as it is with Litecoin... almost no one will use it, because people (users) will have to send all their BTC to a new address starting with a prefix 3.

In November we have the segwit2x hard fork that Core doesn't agree with, but miners don't care about kids in Blockstream team and might just push the segwit2x.

And the question is: why would they support untested segwit2x software (BTC1) with segwit, when they have tested and fully operational Bitcoin Cash with larger blocks and most importantly... without segwit? Which proved itself that is FAST and TXs are 400 times lower, they even enabled sending transaction with zero fees now.

China wins, not clowns here on the forum whose only knowledge about blockchain is Bitcoin and call OMG shit altcoin that will be dumped.

BitcoinTalk is mainly a forum of posers and clowns (people not knowledgeable) of blockchain technology.

An unfortunately for you, you have just joined the bolded part and there is also no other platform for you to express your opinion to a larger population other than that one you have decided to castigate. You have made your point and it shows the side of the coin you belong to but that does not deter people of change their opinion about the situation of things and if you want that to change, you will have to try harder.
218  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price is increasing too fast, will there be a correction? on: August 27, 2017, 05:54:55 PM
The price looks pretty stable - can't break 4500, but not dipping too much either.  I'm happy to see it set in that range for a while.
This $4500 mark is something that seems impossible to break for the past few weeks and even the highest witnessed was around the late $4400s but I still believe we will break that mark but my fear is when as I am interested in seeing those times that will happen without having to be skeptical about the price correction as OP has said and that the benefit of SegWit, begins to manifest.
219  Economy / Services / Re: Hiring someone who can post craigslist ADS....pay is in BTC on: August 27, 2017, 05:17:37 PM
This is a simple task.....but there are difficulties

Every time I post,  the system autoflags it....no matter what I try

I will only pay for ads that go live on the site and stay up...

i will give you the content and info to post....

if you think you can do it.....PM me with your skype

Like what the earlier poster has said, this does not provide enough details on the exact thing you wanted neither did you make available the compensation plan. I would be skeptical if all the deals cannot be done on the forum rather than via  Skype and even the task is not fully outlined to make it understandable.
220  Economy / Services / Re: iCloud activation lock removal service on: August 27, 2017, 05:00:02 PM
i need someone who can do iCloud activation lock removal service i will pay him through BTC
my phone model is Iphone 4
Hello there,
Maybe you are not aware but currently there is no way of unlocking an Apple device when it's iCloud locked. There isn't much difference between an iPhone 4 or newer iPhone they cannot be unlocked.
Apple was smart enough to make stolen phones obsolete by implementing the iCloud locking system. However there is some people who would like to buy iCloud locked phones to take advantage of original screen.Although selling your iPhone 4 screen won't bring you much.
Good luck  Smiley

When I saw the title of the thread, what came to my mind was that he is offering the service for others to patronise and I would be shocked if that will happen. iPhone have done well in making sure if you are not the owner, its useless to you and I have not seen anyone who has successfully break that lock even if anybody promising such, I will want to be more careful before patronising such.
