Ugh... domain squatters are the worst.

Price-wise, probably one of the more frustrating coins... Has a ton of potential, yet the price keeps getting hammered down repeatedly. Something not adding up.

Not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong, or if it's just taking a while, but the test darksend transaction I sent out apparently hasn't gone through. Was looking on blockchain explorer and it appears under 'Outputs' flagged as 'Not yet redeemed.' It's been about 45 minutes, the DRK hasn't arrived at it's destination address yet.

{ "connected_to_masternode" : "", "current_masternode" : 4, "is_connected_to_masternode" : false, "state" : 2, "entries" : 0, "entries_accepted" : 0, "signatures" : 0 } I'm assuming I can't connect to a master node and therefore cannot send darksend transactions? Any idea how to fix this?

Rather strange. I'm attempting to make a small transaction (less than 5) to an exchange just to check out Darksend, yet it just lists the transaction as sending 0 DRK. It's also listed as 'Payment to yourself' under transactions. Address is listed as N/A. I tried sending the same amount with darksend 3 times. Amount is 0 on the first attempt, and -0.001 on the second two attempts. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Also, it's not asking me for my passphrase when I withdraw and the wallet is encrypted. It should be asking for my passphrase.

so when is this expected to be available for everyone to use.. open or closed source.. usable in client no programming skills needed?
Ummmmm.... now? well downloaded the client and i dont see anywhere to select darksend? there is a choice if herd right.. When you go to send there's a checkbox in the upper right corner.

Wow. Is this it?! Awesome. Downloading it right now, I'm really eager to test this thing out as I haven't really had a chance to try out the beta yet. I'm going to set up a node. I'd just like to add that this coin excites me more so than any altcoin I've come across thus far. Very very cool. Nice work sir.

If Darksend works as advertised, the coin will go mainstream. The distribution is in no way a roadblock.
A roadblock? No. Though I will admit it does make me a bit uneasy, and is one of the reasons I held off before investing in it and limited my investment. It's also possibly might be the reason the price keeps getting nailed down. Someone who mined a large amount of coins near the beginning might be periodically dumping them on the market. The developer appears to be incredibly competent and dedicated, likely one of the best developers on any coin I've seen. The features he's rolled out and will roll out are certainly impressive. The early mining issues are still there though, and those concerns are valid and should not be ignored as they are causing pause to people who might be interested otherwise.

Wouldn't following Darkcoin on Google, and revealing your identity defeat the purpose of Darkcoin? No? How would it? I thought the purpose of Darkcoin was to be anonymous. Going on Google+ and following it, would thereby sacrifice that anonymity in the sense that your real identity would be linked to your support of Darkcoin. Obviously it wouldn't link transactions on the blockchain to you, but still. oh come on...you sacrifice you anonymity by posting here without a proxy, by mining, by retweeting, by facebook by everything... Obviously you dont have to post your darkcoin wallet address on google+ your transactions are the ones that you may want to be anonymous. not your support for an anonymous coin thats political and your right to support it. Just saying, if people want to stay as anonymous as possible, it's something to think about. Thankfully I don't use facebook or twitter, so that's not an issue for me. are you using a proxy for bitcointalk? i am just curious... Nope. Then again I don't have my face and all my personal information in my profile. you dont need to have in order for them to find you Depends on who you perceive as 'them.' There is a certain degree to which one can reasonably protect themselves short of paranoia.

So, What's going on? The price is dropping! I don't really understand if it's a big dump or other.
What do you think?
It's sad to see the price falling continuously. The week view isn't pretty. While on the other hand the difficulty continues to rise. This tells me two things. We have two groups, the onces who want to sell off now before they feel it's going to fall even more, cut their losses as such. And the other group who believe in Dark Coin, who are finding this coin and mining it hard to get as much as they can before the price (hopefully) sky rockets, along with the difficulty. You have to factor one thing: There are people who bought tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands when DRK was at 0.0000xx and 0.000x price ranges. These people are not "cutting any losses" selling at 0.00x. They are simply locking (major) profits. Regarding miners etc, as the difficulty rises (and it is already quite high) the equilibrium of mining DRK to sell for profit changes. This means that instead of mining/selling/locking daily profit, miners will shift and instead other coins will be mined/dumped. Those who believe in DRK will mine and hold and those who believe (but do not mine DRK) will buy DRK with the profits of mining something else. This will reduce the coins profitability but in turn, paradoxically, help the price. As for the "falling continuously", it's not an isolated incident that affects DRK per se. Check other alt coins and their graphs. But, at the same time, coinmarketcap position is relatively stable (we may pass worldcoin actually - it's getting closer). When was the price that low? I checked on cryptocoincharts.info but I don't see anything close to those price levels (0.0000xx most especially). I mean if I had known it was that low it would have influenced the point I bought in. Damn....

Makes sense, hopefully it picks up soon.
Personally I like the coin because I value privacy. This doesn't mean that I necessarily engage in 'illegal activities.' It just means that I don't want every transaction I make cataloged in a data warehouse somewhere, or in plain view on a public blockchain. I think people are way too willing to give up their privacy nowadays and society is suffering as a result.

Seems like there's nothing but good news about this coin yet the price keeps dropping. What the hell?
I think it should be open source as well, but there needs to be a better marketing job to build support before that happens. Otherwise money-grabbing clonecoins are just going to take it and proclaim they've created something new.

I don't think the flood will stop until every country, state, or province has its own coin, until every animal has its own coin, until every aspect of life has its own coin. I swear to god... it's just an endless flood of bullshit coins that copy innovators and slap a new graphic on them.
