201  Other / Off-topic / Re: Suppose You got 50,000 Bitcoins on: May 30, 2017, 07:17:39 AM
I'd do all the normal things a greedy man would do for himself like buy a house, car, vacation then eventually I would get bored with my life so I'll try doing some exciting/dangerous things like skydiving and going to space.

Eventually I'll get bored of those too so I'll start my plans to takeover the world by entering into politics. Then all I need to do is bribe enough people to get myself to the top so that I can run for president. Once president I will find all the legal loopholes possible to take more power for myself while funding massive propaganda campaigns to keep my popularity high. By the time I know I have widespread support I will start dissappearing the opposition, while I do this I'll be sure to make sure the military and police both love and support me. I will gradually take more and more control for myself until I can rewrite the constitution to give me and my heirs eternal power, then I will destabilize my neighbours through propaganda and fake news until I can find a reasonable enough excuse invade them for human rights reasons. Once I am in full control I will annex them and make secret deals with nuclear powers to ensure my survival, if any hold out I will purchase comprosing information on their leaders and fund opposition and protests in their countries until they are weak enough that they need my support and help.

I will keep repeating the above until I control most of the world but I'll leave nuclear powers alone. I will become a god even the Kims of North Korea would be envious of. By then I'll be an old man and about to die, but I'll die knowing I made the world a better place in my image.

Sounds like you really thought this through... All hail the ultimate icerose...

I was just going to say I'd quit work and live life to the fullest.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That moment when you buy 1BTC at $2500 on: May 29, 2017, 08:50:08 PM
Unless you are a trading genius or extremely lucky you will never get it right in the short term, so you have to think of your long term gains. Here on this forum most people would agree we are headed eventually for 5k+ if not much more so your best bet is to hold it and wait, the weak hands that sell in a panic during a crash are always the ones that lose the most money.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: International Money Transfer on: May 29, 2017, 08:48:29 PM
If you are looking purely at the transaction fees then bitcoin is nearly always cheaper but if you look at the conversation from 1 fiat currency to bitcoin then bitcoin to another fiat currency you will have a lot of exchange fees added to it in which case it is not so clear which is the cheaper option.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fees!!! on: May 27, 2017, 04:47:29 AM
If you cash out by bitcoins at a casino and the casino doesn't add enough fees for fast confirmation. If the price of bitcoin drops a lot. Should the casino be held responsible for the price differences in which you cashed out at and the current loss in btc prices?

You are gambling in bitcoin not in US$ so they have no responsibility over the price of bitcoin. It is also up to you to choose a company that either pays the right fees or allows you to choose the option to do so.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Aragon Speculation on: May 27, 2017, 04:46:15 AM
Can someone ELI5? I keep seeing Aragon mentioned but everyone talks about it like they're Trump lol. "It'll be great, the best, trust me."

What's so special about it?

It's a real world use for a token. They are aiming to offer decentralized and virtual products for companies. They will be able to run ICO's on the platform where company's token holders can vote on issues. They will also offer automated and decentralized services such as a accounting and a decentralized court/arbitration system. Each company will be able to set their own rules and governance regarding their token holders.

It is especially useful for a company trying to startup without having any physical offices, they could interact with their employees virtually while having all the accounting and legal done on aragon. An example of a companies that already tries to do as much are software startups and the aragon network will offer a much cheaper way of doing it than is currently available.
206  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tell me bitcoins well go to 10,000 $ to 13,000$ this year? on: May 26, 2017, 05:33:44 AM
Its possible but it would be indicative of a major bubble, its much healthier for bitcoin if it rises slowly but surely according to user adoption and real world use.
207  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin benefit of saving for a long time? on: May 26, 2017, 05:23:31 AM
why so many people store their bitcoin in their wallet for a long time, whether the benefits will they get?

Come share your thoughts

These people have faith/believe in bitcoin as they can see how good its platform. They risk their investment for long term without doubting which is making them to feel overwhelmed as they currently see their decisions before was right.
Bitcoin is considered as a investment and if you go for long term then you can reap a very good profit.

Agreed, in the long term despite short term falls bitcoin will go up. It is an investment not a short term savings for most people, the same as when you save for your retirement you aren't expecting to touch that money for many years or decades.
208  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're reaching $3,000 soon! on: May 26, 2017, 05:21:13 AM
It seems to be the dump might be over. We ll probably see a few days of consolidation around $2400. After that, the race ll continue.

What s going to happen with major alts is my question? Before when BTC would go up, alts would go into red. Now we have situations where everything goes green, both BTC and alts.

I agree with your first statement, this is just a blip of a crash. As for where alts will go, they tend to only go down when bitcoin shoots up fast but mostly they follow the same route the reason being people buy bitcoin to get into alts thus increasing the value of bitcoin. The only time that is different is when bitcoin shoots up faster than alts people sell alts to get bitcoin but without cashing out.
209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling problem on: May 25, 2017, 05:24:44 AM
Gambling should be fun but so easy to get addicted to. Never gamble what you can't afford to lose because as much as we like to say money isn't everything, it does have the power to destroy lives.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex is the worst platform on: May 24, 2017, 05:32:05 PM
Poloniex has the best platform imo, but their background system wasn't prepared for handling all the new people flocking to crypto. They did a shitty job preparing for all this. Despite that they have the most liquidity and their platform is very easy and intuitive to use.

What you really mean is they have the worst service with obviously not enough support staff.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will the price of Dogecoin be by the year 2020? on: May 24, 2017, 05:29:43 PM
Dogecoin doesn't have any technical capabilities that would give it value. It was made as a joke and the only ones that will earn money on it in the long term is traders. This isn't the coin you buy to hold forever, this is the coin you buy for a single use (mostly tipping), or for a short term trade. By 2020 it will be back down to sub 30 satoshis.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all nations of the world started to use bitcoin on: May 24, 2017, 05:25:58 PM
I've heard that bitcoin is already being used in Russia and Japan, but officially I've yet to find citizens using bitcoin transactions directly. I think there is currently no official State using bitcoin.

LOL. I don't know about Russia, but Japan is legalizing bitcoin already and used as legal tender. I would considered Japan as the only nation who are using bitcoin together with their national currency (Yen).  So I guess their citizens now are using it just like their currency. And there are a lot of bitcoin ATM's as well. So they can withdraw fiat if they want to used fiat as mode of payment.

Bitcoin is not legal tender in Japan, its just accepted as currency. Legal tender means that shops are required to accept it and that status is reserved for the yen. There are more and more shops that CHOOSE to accept bitcoin however and big interest but lets not go pretending its a widespread thing, at least not yet.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: THE OFFICIAL ARAGON (ANT) CROWDSALE AND PROJECT THREAD on: May 23, 2017, 07:04:08 PM
Aragon has been added to shapeshift. The marketcap is still so low I expect it will pump hard in the following days.
214  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex Withdrawal / Deposit issues. on: May 23, 2017, 02:28:30 AM
Yup, after an hour or 2 when I clicked resend emails, it worked afterwhile.

Noticed that now polo has around 40k connected users at the same time. Its kinda an enormous amount of people.

They are having major growing pains giving them technical issues, lag and the withdrawal issues you mentioned. Its funny too cause you would think people would rush to other exchanges after so many problems but polo seems to keep growing regardless.

216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Be Dethroned by an Altcoin? Not in This Life on: May 23, 2017, 02:00:46 AM
Bitcoin doesn't fundamentally have anything that can't be found in an altcoin, the only thing going for it is that it has first mover advantage and currently a high hashpower in relation to anything else out there. But there are plenty of decentralized heavy altcoins, and even bitcoins development is heavily centralized in the hands of few players be that core developer or certain mining companies so I don't think its fair to say bitcoin is better even in that regard to certain alts.

So what it comes down to I guess is the only thing its got going for it is hashpower, but hashpower can be changed at relatively short notice.

I agree however that bitcoin is not going to be dethroned soon, but it can obviously change in the future. And why don't think it will happen soon? Because compared to other alts bitcoin is used much more in the real world, the altcoins even ethereum is currently only used by traders, ICO's and a few other limited projects.

217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: We're in a bubble on: May 23, 2017, 01:53:46 AM
To all those replies that suggest we aren't in a bubble because the crypto market is small compared to multinational corporations or big countries need to get a reality check. There are loads of great projects out there yes but real world use is minimal and bitcoin wins hands down in that respect even though the alt market is now bigger than bitcoin.

The problem people justifiably have is how to do you price something you think will be a success at some point in the bubble and that's how bubbles get started. Another problem is the fact that markets can stay irrational for insane amounts of time so bubble naysayers will keep saying the bubble predictions are wrong until it finally pops. There is definitely an obvious bubble forming but there's no telling if it will pop soon or in the distant future and when it pops we could even end up still seeing a high valuation at its bottom as happened with bitcoins last bubble popping.

My point is its exciting times for the cryptoworld with lots of interesting development but don't be afraid to admit the bubble could pop at any time, if you really believe your coin is still good and its still cheap then just hold for long after the current bubble pops.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If today was your last day, would you gamble everything? on: May 23, 2017, 01:45:21 AM
I think this thread should be renamed to, you know you are a gambling addict when you think of gambling on the last day you will live. Come on I love gambling as much as anyone but why would anyone in their right mind think about gambling their worldly possessions. If its your last day spend it with the people you care about, or go nuts doing things you enjoy and come on don't say you enjoy gambling so much that its the last thing you want to do...
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ɌIDDLE - The biggest mystery | 1st Airdrop completed!! | WAVES | $RXD | TiDex on: May 23, 2017, 01:26:50 AM
well this is not a wow news..waah was is this position last week...and it tuned out to be a shittoken and a scam. but riddle does not look like a scam..let's see..i'm here from the begining Smiley

What constitutes not looking like a scam though? It still looks like a joke to me, then again so was dogecoin so it may be there is more to riddle than meets the eye. Anyway the amount airdropped is worth so little there is no point in selling, might as well see where it leads.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: May 23, 2017, 01:23:05 AM
ripple wants to rest now. he's very tired. spent 3 months in very active and high volatility. investors are very well earned. the news that Warren Buffett is impressed. Crypto currency on the market, opened a new window.
nah..Ripple had a rest...a few hours lol...theres to much energy to stay still or go sideways for days...

SBI VC opening soon and so is others adding XRP....

boom time defo comin as btc funds flow to XRP as they have done in past 3months.

People are so worried about the short term I find.

What about five years from now when banks are using it for 3 years? How much Ripple supply will be left after 3 years?

All these things are going to be very interesting to find out.

Except there are no banks using ripple, only banks using the blockchain. I'm more worried about how many people will lose their lifesavings from believing that ripple is backed by banks and its not.
