... Does anyone think this is do-able for a 700-900 sq foot mining shack out in the desert?
the square footage is irrelevant. What matters is how many BTU's (watts*3.412142) you are moving. The more BTU's the more thermal mass (the dirt around longer tubes) needed.

Um, most of the hacks ARE distributed with full cg/BMminer code and therein lies the problem. Now if the tweaks were released as simple patches to be applied to existing miner code like this then the license issue is removed (aside from BM's violation of course).

Sweet. While I have very few remaining Bitmain miners (most are Avalons), this is a perfect example of how the Antminer firmware hacks SHOULD be done: Do the hacks by distributing open source patch files! Pretty sure that the same can be done for setting Vcore, freq, fans, etc. Ya know - all the things that the closed source firmware hacks do.
This way the original cgminer/BMminer code is not distributed so there is no further violation of the cgminer GPL license beyond BM's violation of it..

Sounds like you want to make another SHA256 network/coin which would make it yet another altcoin. Only BTC is Bitcoin and there is only 1 Bitcoin network. ALL others, even those using SHA256 - are altcoins. Period.

Curios, what are the review of the 1041 now that we are a year into the original post?
I like them. Only thing against the 1041 is that Canaan so far has not released an update for it to use 3 pools & have More Options entry box like they did for the 1047 on up. Very occasionally the 10xx series may have an issue connecting to some routers, not sure why but a reboot of the router seems to take care of it.

In regards to the PSU discussion...Curios, we have about 800 841 that we are starting to phase out and we are thinking about buying some used 1041s. We have good 841 PSUs in the boneyard, is it possible to use two 841 PSU to power one 1041 (just thinking about cost savings if we get a PSU failure on a 1041).
Thanks
From the A10xx on up all Canaan miners use a built-in PSU and CANNOT use an external one. Why? Simple - the reason is to squeeze every bit of efficiency they can get. As Bitmain has done the chips on the hash boards are directly powered by the PSU vs having a final high current regulator on each board. The PSU is programmable via the controller and directly sets voltage to the ASIC strings. Losing the secondary regulators boosts eff by several %.

And along the line of solo pools, from what kano has posted in Discord over the next few weeks he is working on setting one up that will accept all ASIC miners regardless of hash rate, firmware used, and rental or 'real'.
Will be nice to have a solo pool ran by someone that has never lost blocks due to sloppy coding/lack of testing! The other plus is that because he logs everything we could also finally get irrefutable proof on if the various non-oem firmware's actually find blocks (or not)... Being solo there would be no issue of miners being paid for (possibly) bad work.

Hi mate .thank u for your answer.I imported cods but can't decrease fan speed .can u explain how should I import this cods? maybe I have mistake 841 setup to be a quiet space heater: Power mode: Low power More Options: --api-listen --avalon8-fan 10-25 That will take power down to around 850-900w with fans maxing at 25%. Runs around 8.8THs Do be aware that when slowing down the fans you also need to make sure the miner is in a lower power mode or else it will be rather unhappy and just run as fast as it can with the fans throttled down, as it overheats it will begin self protecting by slowing down the hash rate.

he received a call from the creator of Bitcoin asking that his name not be revealed for fear of complications with the government and his personal safety. Meh, just sounds like crazy John is hearing voices in his head again...

The header will probably be the same, eg --avalon10-<command>-<subset> <value> but beyond that, no idea. The previous generations all have slight differences in how values are formatted and permissible ranges.
Can't say I've tried futzing around with it but I'll ask Kano if he can get some information from his contacts at Canaan. I will say that you cannot hurt the miners. If a code(s) is wrong or out of range it will just be ignored. Push them too hard and again they largely self-protect themselves by throttling down to safer levels before again trying to push towards what you have set.

Since Canaan finally gave us back the More Options entry field for the A1047, as with all Canaan miners there is ZERO need for 3rd party firmware/software. Now the only problem is finding what the command switches are and their ranges to use with the 1047. So far I have not been able to find that.
Historically the Avalon's have been very easy to tweak anyway you desire be it for temp control, speed, power efficiency, etc. Command switches for the A6xx-A9xx series can be found on Canaan's Github repository

Um, you do know that this has nothing to do with Bitcoin (or any other crypto coin) right? Using 'blockchain technology' is just that - using an immutable verifiable distributed ledger vs a normal database to track things be it ID's for vendor/location/installation data for streetlights & security cameras, farm product shipments & contracts, etc... In this case, organ typing, donor & transport data.

Keeping on topic, the most efficient fluid to use is Novec from 3M. Do be aware that it is VERY expensive and you MUST ensure that it is used in a closed system as the fluid will evaporate. Just do a search for '3M Novec fluid' and you will get several links for suppliers as well as links for other heat transfer fluids that can be used. Another fluid to use would be from a company called Engineered Fluids who are based in Texas. While their heat transfer fluids are mineral-based they have been tailored for use with electronic gear.

Do NOT use paraffin or mineral oil -- they attack the various plastics used in electronic devices such as nylon and pvc and make them very hard and brittle. A much better choice are silicon-based fluids such as those from Clearco which are designed for use with electronics. 1 catch - being an industrial fluid only companies can buy it, private individuals cannot purchase it directly from Clearco.

If you send cryptocurrency that Coinbase does not support or send cryptocurrency to a wallet that isn’t specifically for that cryptocurrency, those funds cannot be recovered by Coinbase. What part of that is not clear? Sorry for your loss but Coinbase cannot help in this matter. The various coin protocols are not setup to allow it.

Short answer - NO. Long answer - maybe, but only if you recompile the OpenWrT and Canaan A8 source files to run in Winbloz. Good luck with that....
