I think submission fee is prohibitive. I would add some events, but only when you offer reasonable fees.

2007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The mysterious bitcoin flower opens once a day and reveals a free bitcoin on: August 17, 2011, 07:43:24 PM
2 BTC per day is very expensive. According to you stats, your flower generates about 10k impressions per day, i.e. you charge 0.2 BTC ($2) per 1000 impressions. First time you may get enough advertisers, but soon you would need to reduce the price.

make it a once a day freeplay slot machine
I don't want to convert my service into another casino.

by making it always reset at a predictable time, you reduce the time visitors will remain on the site
Opposite is better - by increasing time people staying on the website advertising become more effective.

update the page indicating when someone got the big prize

Now even when not winning people will still feel like they have chance and will keep playing Smiley
I think it is clearly stated on the website that you can receive only ONE prize per day and if requested have no more chance to win anything today.

Только что увидел. Сразу пришла мысль "а если завести 1000 кошельков, это что, тоже сработает"? Вы с такими боретесь?

Idea: allow people to see how long they have left untill they can claim another price, BEFORE typing trying to cash out!
Of course it is more convenient for users but theoretically may be abused by bots.

I just wish I could get it to pay more than 0.0005, which is a very very small amount I think...

I know you can't complain about free stuff, but if you see how many dollars it's worth a day, it doesn't seem worth it...
It is a booby prize, to get better bounty just regularly visit our site. Each hour we giving away few prizes worth of $0.1 or even more. Some times a day you can catch at least $0.5. When we get big advertiser, jackpot is paid out, e.g. thanks to Dragon's Tale next 24h 0.5 BTC will be paid out.

Our direct competitor (I don't want to post his name, but I think you know it) don't pay booby prizes at all, just 1 BTC per day to one user. I have rather different point of view and no one will left without a prize and get at least consolation bounty.
2015  Economy / Marketplace / Free 0.5 BTC next 24h on: August 16, 2011, 08:32:54 PM
Our sponsor, Dragon's Tale was very generous today.
Next 24 hours 0.5 BTC jackpot will be guaranteed paid out.
Don't miss your fortune at Dailybitcoins.org

The same question, show more stats. Or there are so few visitors that you don't want to reveal data?

P.S. Giving away only ONE bounty per day is not enough to motivate significant number of users to regularly visit site, IMHO.

Some sites, like Godaddy, have a timeout code built into their website. If you'll been on the page for over a certain period of time without any activity, the page has to be refreshed or you must relog in.
My site also has 2 minute prize expiration time, I think it is good to implement the same in your flower.
2020  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: August 15, 2011, 11:27:50 PM
I think you might have a bug in the software i always get this error now in firefox and ie.
Session expired. You have to take your prize within 2 minutes. Refresh page and try again
Bug found and fixed. Thanks.
