2001  Economy / Economics / Re: Is risky to invest this period on: June 07, 2023, 06:40:49 PM
OP, going by your topic, we should have known that bitcoin is so risky and volatile commodity. So therefore before one would go into the trade, on needs to have a clear thought of it before investing and while investing, one should know that they should invest with funds they could afford to lose if anything happens so it does not affect them in one way or the other.
However, investing in bitcoin at this period is no bad but as I see this as the right time to bag more and moreover, the price is very low now to purchase as much as one can afford to without any issues.
Going by the current market situation or trend, this is actually the right time to buy more as it is far below $30k and come to talk about it, next halving is around the corner and we all know when that happens, it would get to a new all time high.

2003  Economy / Economics / Re: Retirement Age for Workers - Does this Make Sense? on: June 07, 2023, 05:21:15 PM
Retirement is not an alternative to wages.

A pension is a reward for older people for their past work for the benefit of the country in which they live.  A pensioner can receive a pension and not work.  He can also receive a pension and continue to work (if he has the appropriate opportunities and desires).

Raising the retirement age is a very unfair act towards the elderly.  Each person must be sure that when old age comes he will have a reliable source of income.

After all, human health, as a rule, deteriorates with age, and the need for comfort grows.
Raising the retirement age of workers sometimes I likely pointing towards a short of labour or work force in that country but in countries of much population, the retirement age is always reviewed so as to allow or call for more employment of the new or younger generation into Service. However, the retirees are not just allowed to be idle that way most at times, they are invited to pass or teach the younger generation more of their duties.
I know of an who has retired in my locality but uptill now the government still seeks his expertise in difficult situations and also, they organise a seminar at their state office inviting him to come train their workers.

Retirement age should not really be a thing of worry because at some certain age in life ones work energy would start declining and it will amount to less productivity hence the  reason for the retirement age for workers so they could have time fur themselves and family too but these days as a result of the rate of unemployment, people tend to fame their real age just to stay in a particular job for years without any remorse for the younger generation and this is mostly common in government jobs.
2004  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Loan business here how on: June 07, 2023, 05:18:03 PM
Any adivece ?
How much i can earn ?
Should i ask collateral always ?
How can i improve my service ?

Welcome onboard OP.  You are on the right track identifying with this platform as you would get to know more and have good knowledge of what you have signed up for.

My advise to you is that you should not be in a haste to do something that you would regret in the nearest future. I would say this, take your time to gradually building your account while working on your reputation because what you have in mind doing here would need you such efforts as I have said earlier because no one would want to identify with such am account conducting loan and lots more and it would make it more difficult for members to attend to you when what they have already reputable loan giver here. It would take you extra efforts to be able to making sure you get the attention of a customer.
So therefore,

Secondly, how much you can earn should not be a thing of concern to you when you have not started it yet. What I would suggest is the you check the loan board to study how it works there and the rates and percentage of return borrowers request for loan with when making refund.

However, asking for collateral as I have seen in other loan board is not inclusive although if you want to ask, that is your own policy but as much as I know I do not think collateral Is involved as it is collateral Free but whom ever wants to default should be ready for  a red tag and negative trust. You should know yourself that this is highly risky to do.

2005  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some commonly used crypto acronyms and their meanings on bitcointalk for newbie. on: June 07, 2023, 04:50:38 PM
Abbreviations are very common in every place that we have. It's amazing how we make it easier to remember stuff and know that there is something that you need to know to be knowledgeable and more efficient in your posts etc.

This is one of the latest that I can find in the forum.

Crypto acronyms and their meanings for beginners (CHECK OUT) by CryptoHeadlineNews

This is nice. I had no idea about it though but anyways it is all for educating newbies to know their whereabouts on this platform so as not to look odd.
You  know most of the words are abbreviated so as to bypass the long sentences made which I believe everyone here is acquainted with.  Instead of writing a long sentence or statement one can just put in an acronym which is very understanding so that everyone one who comes across his or her post should be able to note what message the op is trying to pass across. So therefore, this thread would serve a good purpose as it is rightly located on the main thread where it is supposed to be. So I believe any newbie that comes incontact with this thread would have a lot to learn from .
2006  Other / Meta / Re: [BAN APPEAL] UID: 1035888 on: June 07, 2023, 04:13:57 PM
OP I was trying to figure out your predicament here and still yet your case is very complicated but in all, you appealing for a banned account is not bad but you should have created a fresh new account for the task instead of getting others account involved in this appeal. Do you know that this account might likely cause you another problem or stress of explaining yourself over and over again and again sometime when it is not enough that what you have isuued I kit clear enough.
2007  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Few questions from beginners on: June 07, 2023, 03:12:07 PM
I would like to welcome you to this platform as a new member. First, i would commend you for being inquisitive because that shows how curious you are to learn something new looking at your position and the question asked, you took a bold step in the right direction and i believe you must have gotten most of the answers you require to keep you in the know about this platform.

Nevertheless, there are some acronyms you would come across while carrying out your activities here and it would be in your best interest to know them properly. You check here to see them for  yourself;

2008  Economy / Gambling / Re: lucky block casino locked my account for no reason demanding kyc funds lost on: June 07, 2023, 02:55:54 PM
I've had my LB account for almost a year and used this casino many times without issue.

Today I deposited some funds, played a few games and began to lose so I tried to make a withdrawal.

I guess they didn't like that for some reason and flagged the withdrawal.

They gave me mixed reasons as to why from random checks to accessing the site from a restricted area which isn't true because if the IP is blocked the site will not even load.

Anyways, they are demanding kyc and I refuse so they will close my account

Your post is incomplete did you hit the wagering requirement, if so you can withdraw but if they ask you to do KYC, you should if there is a KYC requirement in their terms, they have a reason why they asked you for KYC, I have not heard or read about this casino but I cannot categorize this as a legit complaint.

You should undergo KYC first and if they still do not allow you to withdraw your money and they gave you a false accusation, then that's the time to open a complaint.

OP gave room for the casino to do their deed. If OP had initially agreed to the kyc that would have given him a good stand to fight the battle to making sure he gets his funds back irrespective of what the situation maybe but since he rejected a kyc offer, the casino took advantage of it to carrying out their actions on blocking or suspending his account and lastly, I do not think this has to do with country or IP restriction then if so it means OP has been using a vpn to access the site and possibly forgot to do so and upon discovering it, they used it as a bait for OP by blocking op account.
2009  Other / Beginners & Help / Some commonly used crypto acronyms and their meanings on bitcointalk for newbie. on: June 07, 2023, 02:35:51 PM
I thought of this for a long time and I had to come up with this task so as to help newbies understand the platform a bit clear of some acronyms and its full meaning so if they see it some where they could tell what it is and how to follow up if it means to do so. I had to do this based on a particular post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5454780.0) as raised by a newbie asking to know a particular acronym which s/he knows not. I have no idea if such a thread already exist but i just think this would help them a lot to get acquainted onboard the platform as the case maybe.

Since this is the thread for  Beginners & Help which invariably means that newbies would likely or definitely flood here to get updates on how the forum operates and getting some vital information to keep them abreast of activities. It would be in a good position to do the the needful seeing it here if there is any of such in any other board hence my making this post here for all newbie to see for themselves.
I stand to be corrected if there are any observations and possible relocation of this thread. Your opinions are all welcomed.

I think your friend is trying to kill many birds with one stone which is not possible. He should just focus on one as he has started with bitcoin, he should concentrate on bitcoin and should not complicated things for himself. Getting much of it to study or learn about might get himself more confused on the right thing to do which might end up making him miss out from some important events which he was suppose to catch up with but if being divided, i do not think he can be able to meet up. Tell him to narrow down his thought and engagement to bitcoin since he has already invested in it so he could be able to follow up with the bitcoin market and other unfolding development on bitcoin.

There is a saying that says " a journey of  a thousand miles begin with just a step" You started this miles years ago with just a  step and hear you are celebrating your success story of being hear for years. Your impart is felt heavily as you seems to be amongst the early adopters of this platform who saw the good that this platform came with and the potentials it has to give out to the believers. You did not just registered but your presence was highly felt as a great pioneer of this great forum. You have done well and you deserve the accolades OP.
Congratulations to you for the successful milestone achieved.
2012  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is mining limited 😮 on: June 05, 2023, 09:07:02 PM
OP mining is currently not limited. Anyone can mine now as long as they have the complete equipment and facility to do so but you should have it in mind that Bitcoin is capped at 21 million and when it gets to that limit it stops and miners would start to receive rewards from transactions fees but while mining, they receive rewards for the mining just as was told by other posters.

OP you have earlier been told to lock this thread which is not wrong. At this juncture, i presume you have gotten enough information and not only that you have also been told here that there are many threads relating to this topic so therefore i wouls also join in telling you lock this thread as you have already gotten the information your require.
2013  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin for HODL on: June 05, 2023, 01:44:11 PM
Hello everyone!

Not my keys, not my coins is an important advice. We need to be very safe to avoid getting hacked because coins stored on a centralized exchange are keys held by operators, not customers.

At first I will welcome you onboard this platform and from the looks seems you have already done some research on and about the bitcointalk platform to have had such knowledge of "not your keys, not your coin" that is good of you op. Unlike Others that do not have idea about this phrase as mentioned. Knowing it keeps you and your assets on the right track. Centralised exchange are not safe storing your assets and should not be your store of value. You have your wallets where you can easily transfer your assets to after trading. Your self custodial wallet should be your last resolution when storing up your assets and funds. With this, you can be sure of the safety of your assets without being afraid is keys are well secured by you.
2014  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: NLC threatening government with strike on: June 05, 2023, 01:12:20 PM
If you can recall the immediate actions from the filling stations and Lots more upon the President inaugural speech when he made mention of removing fuel subsidy and I asked myself why would they react so fast to the point that virtually all the filling stations closed I would use my area for example all of them shot down and upon the opening, pump price sky rocket to a high price.
Now I asked a question who is doing who?
It is normal for filling stations not to sell if they heard about the president plans to remove the fuel subsidy. I think that is just life. Filling stations are businesses and any filling station can decide to wait or sell at a higher price. People are not the problem, any wrong thing that is happening should be blamed on the government. They should find better strategies that they can use which will help mitigate this kind of situation.

The way I just thought about it, is that the president should have made this faster because if the fuel subsidy is removed, the filling stations will not close (or close for long) and likely there will be no cue, or cue for a short period of time if the fuel subsidy is removed as fast as possible. But the problem there also is the NLC which I do not think are handling this appropriately. Removing the subsidy will result to inflation, but in a way that other people will increase the price of their products and services. But the issue of fuel subsidy will be no more.

Well there is nothing bad about what you have said but my point is this why would they always want to take advantage of the situations to their own benefits. It is not fair. Why the sudden reactions so fast that it shook the nation just within few hours after the speech of the newly sworn in president was made clarifying the nation on the position of things upon handover. Those filling stations that shut down when did they buy the fuel  compared to when the speech was made?  Do you not think it was intentional by their act. How so sudden the actions baffled me that I begin to wonder how fast they grew such wings. I asked myself again, if it were to be a military regime would they have had the guts to try this nonsense they did?
Well since you have said it is their business and nobody could tell them what to do, No issues about that but you and I know the truth and it was not what it should have resulted to.
2015  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: NLC threatening government with strike on: June 05, 2023, 11:16:48 AM
I believe the fuel subsidy is a scam. If the president should have said that there is no fuel subsidy and then what was it with the previous administration telling us about it. I  wonder the amount of money that has gone for this singular act of scam called fuel subsidy. Does it mean that they have been robbing and milking the nation dry of her hard earned income?

If you can recall the immediate actions from the filling stations and Lots more upon the President inaugural speech when he made mention of removing fuel subsidy and I asked myself why would they react so fast to the point that virtually all the filling stations closed I would use my area for example all of them shot down and upon the opening, pump price sky rocket to a high price.
Now I asked a question who is doing who? I just see this a as a situation of one taking advantage of another situation at their own advantage and to the detriment of others.

NLC going to strike is not a new thing but have they sit down to think about it and give this new government a little time to see their out put first before thinking of their next actions?

With all these fight amongst these bodies, the masses are the ones suffering for it.

Them say "when two elephant dey fight na grass dey suffer am"
2016  Economy / Speculation / Re: Opportunity to buy on: June 02, 2023, 08:51:30 PM
Looking at the current market situation, one can tell that at this value compared to the previous all time high, the bitcoin price is still very low and as such, one can easily but bitcoin still at a very low price and hold it and however, one can still trade bitcoin on a short term basis taking profits as the case maybe.

Usually, traders do take the market conditions to their own benefit. They do trade on daily basis in line with the market trend at that particular time so as make profit from their trade. This is a typical short term holding for trade.

I don't know why someone will take a loan and intentionally not want to pay back and feels okay with it,forgetting that it is someone's money s/he use for business. It is a pity that we still have such greedy fellows in the forum, who have plans of scamming people of their money. At least if his Sinbad campaign kicked him out,he would have find an alternative way to pay the money because he used the money. He is on another campaign and was suppose to use his weekly pay from there to pay back his loan. He deserves any punishment that is given to him.
This shows who s/he truly is in the real life. How can someone  be of that behavior to run down some other person's business just out of greed. Funny enough he has other accounts that were actively working on campaign and receiving pay why not he use the pay from those accounts to settle his debt rather than refusing to pay. Out of greed he has been kicked out and account likely to be flagged  for s/his wicked act. What a greedy one to be found on this platform and atleast he/ she got exposed by their act and nobody did that for s/he to hold responsible for the woes befalling them.

No one can learn from others' experiences, go experience it yourself and write your own journey. Do not copy. Do not emphasis someone's learning in your life.
Not everyone's life is the same, and so does the experiences.

Go try out everything you need in Cryptoverse and once you start making mistakes, you will understand that you are growing.
Because the one who does not do mistakes, never learns.
Mate, I believe mistakes sometimes are as a result of carelessness of the individual in particular.
There is a saying that says " what an elder sees while seating, a child cannot see it while standing"  whey I say this,  learning from people's experience is not a bad thing but it aids you to apply the principles of that person who had the experience coupled to your own knowledge to best handle that situation or challenges to achieving success.

The time wasted while trying to learn is not bad but it is bad when you fail to apply some principles of the knowledge you have from others who have been there before you to enable you scale through the process. In this case, when ever a situation arises that seems difficult, one can easily apply a method he or she has already heard about to that situation which would make them come through.

With the above as explained, I think learning from experience is not bad but a good one to expand your knowledge and horizon.

Investment in Crypto takes a lot of time in you knowing what you are investing in. Being a newbie to Crypto, it is advisable that one needs to properly know about Crypto to gain more knowledge about it as scammers take advantage of newbies since they know newbies are desperate to invest in new projects. They will take advantage of that opportunity to persuade you to invest in their project and once you do that,  the rest is history, your funds are all gone and it will be story upon story which does make any meaning.
These are the reasons newbies are advised to properly take out time to study about Crypto so as to know when a scammer comes to you in the name of investing in their projects.
I believe this thread would give insight to newbies and the reasons they must learn about bitcoin and Crypto in general.
