are those PSU's for the Neptunes?

No they're the five ASIC boxes.  Those things plus a controller and a pile of PSUs are the "neptune".

I really don't get this company, how could they change the design of the final products at the last moment, without even telling the customers, they showed a single box when they did the pre-sale and now you have 5 boxes, why didn't they just stick with the 28nm and make a bunch of single miners, they just could have hired bitmain to do the final product, looks like the upcoming Antminer S1 will be similar looking.

They could have used the same 28nm chip and undervolt them, and it would have been out 5 months ago, when difficulty was 1.5 Billion

yes they could have, but they needed a data center crowdfunded.

ltc pumpers on btc-e trying to push btc down, but it's a no go.

man, ltc will crash hard sooner or later.

Every altcoins will crash one day, only BTC will survive, mostly altcoins just copied.

yes, they will fail, cause they dont offer anything in comparison to bitcoin.

I like monero though.

But litecoin is just a trash that keeps us from going to the moon.

I can smell a bubble from a mile away, its happening.

Yes the indicators of a bubble building are here. The US government auction could even be the trigger.

Can you explain how the auction could be the trigger. I think if it is, it could get media attention and the big company that buys it uses the coins to start an exchange.

is this your thought process or did you have something else in mind?

everyone sold coins or wired money to exchanges expecting the price to drop

price is : 605

we get close to the day of, lots of press, good press! poeple wire more monies...

price is : 705

the coins are sold and surprize surprize the price doesn't drop!

price is : 805

3 days later we are in full on bubble mode and there's 10million on the side lines wondering why theres no cheap coins to be had Huh

price is : 1600

next week, looks like will Argentina will default on their debts!

Paso's flood the BTC market, its unbelievable how many Pesos there are and no one wants them!

price is : 3200

the cheap coins lovers realize what's happening and panic buy.

price is : 5200

Obama says "bitcoin will save business more money and create new jobs"

the WORLD PANIC BUYS ALL THE BITCOINS!!!!!!!!!!!

price is : 52,000$

Millions of people are seriously pissed off at wall street for acting so slowly

the people want there bitcoins! NOW!

wall street acts swiftly to respond to the overwhelming demand

its not enough!
its not enough!
its not enough!

the poeple demand MORE MORE MORE!

Price is now : 520,000$

 Cheesy

Multi Billionaire who's only son died from Silk Road overdose buy all the bitcoins and dumps them all on the exchange in an effort to destroy bitcoin once and for all Bitcoin price is $2.49 and massive suicides take place globally. Sad

PS I'm kidding.

I would like to watch that in a theater.

"Silk road merchant"

I'm not seeing how one could upgrade their S1 to these S3s.

Let's see, the S1 is made of a little, yet sturdy, frame.  Two blades with massive heatsinks on them, with tons of thermalpaste.  And a fan.
What would be kept in the S3?  The frame and fan?  What kind of upgrade is that?

Or we could be separating the blades from the heatsinks.. and make a huge mess of thermalpaste, apply our own, and re-assemble.  That'll make it lighter to ship, for sure, but not much of a user friendly upgrade IMHO.

Or we could be sending our S1s back to them.. who wants to do that?  8lbs a piece, IIRC.

M

dont forget the controller board.

also, by sending IC boards only, bitmaintech could save a lot because the shipment would be considerably cheaper.

If we look at bitfinex swaps for a moment... USD-0.2016%-0.1272%-24,844,849.98 USD. Can someone gives an answer when those long will start to close if the price doesn't move up for a week? For sure we can't expect the price to go up much till the end of the auction... so when the rates on those longs will become to expensive?

I asked bitcoinica users the same question.

never really got an answer.

congrats bitmain!

sorry for asking, but how is the upgrade going to work for s1?

I suppose they will ship new pcb with 28nm ic only to users? some sort of DIY?

I want to remind most of you here that it is not your fucking problem what I do with my money or what I think about any investment...it is still my point of view and I don't want to hear that I am being "foolish"... period.

I hear ya. It's one thing to disagree with someone's position but another to try and convince them they're "wrong". I hope you have a great two years off if that's your plan.

I am with mmitech too.

He can post his bullish positions on litecoin whenever he wants, but on the other hand, I can still consider that call a stupidity.
