My OKPay account is still at the same level, no 10% discount I want to make it clear: My OKPAY account was NOT debited. OKPAY is based in the Virgin British Islands, as far as I know. Only my OKPAY Debit Card balance was debited. OKPAY used the services of CSC24Seven for their debit card. And CSC24Seven is regulated by the Central Bank of Cyprus. I can't tell for sure if it was 6.75% or 9.9%, because the transaction statement is empty (maybe not updated yet) I hope things are more clear now.

I do not want to spread false information, but I just find it surprising that depositors are not informed of what's going on and I think this will only make the bank run scenario more likely: the only thing I can be considering now is whether I will withdraw all remaining funds from my account or not, before they all burn because of some foreign state's bankruptcy.
I will keep you updated of the response from OKPAY. So far they have just not answered it at all.

Hello,
Anyone here has an OKPAY debit card?
My balance has lost 10% of value over the week-end and I highly suspect this to be the result of the events in Cyprus, CSC24Seven being a service of the Cyprus Central Bank. However, I haven't got any confirmation yet from OKPAY, and my card statement is empty (just the balance has been reduced)

I was wondering if this was the reason why OKPAY has still not resumed Bitcoin operations since the fork, while others already have?
I use OKPAY services including Bitcoin on a regular basis and I would hate that such events have long term consequences on OKPAY operations as well as other payment providers.

Franchement, ça mérite un up ! Ca ferait quand même plus de 20'000€ le set de protections

Basically I think it is so volatile because so is the market confidence in the future of Bitcoin: it is just as promising as it is hazardous. Bitcoin is still an *experimental* e-currency, so most of not all coin holders know that the fiat value of their BTCs *could* possibly bust at anytime. So the sellout effect is still very strong, hence the crashes, when anything happens that could threaten the future of bitcoin.
Last time it was the block chain fork, next time it might be some large government announcing new laws that would make bitcoin trading or even transactions illegal (good luck with that in sane democracies, at least I hope so).
I believe we will still see the rate rise on a steady basis and crash every n week or so, even more often like these days. The crashes will be contained by the strong base of early adopters and "faithfuls" that will see every crash as an opportunity to buy cheap and profit, sustaining the elastic behaviour of the market.

I have a certain confidence in Bitcoin, or another (supposedly better) crypto e-currency, being more widespread and gaining both popularity and value over time. However, at this stage of the "game", I would consider it too early to put all of your savings in BTC as an investment.
Just my 2 satoshis...

The Mining hardware comparison page of the Bitcoin.it Wiki will answer all of these questions, just look at the tables and match your hardware. As for electricity, there are profits calculator, but as a rule of thumb, with such a low hashrate (compared to high end GPUs), it could only be profitable if you would let your PC turned on anyway. An idle computer, GPU excluded, needs power somewhere between 60W and 120W (what I measured on different rigs / PCs), depending on the hardware (CPU, SDD vs HDD, etc). Monitor power excluded of course, if any

50BTC pool has some really weird fees Really ? I have been mining there and the payout is a plain, simple 25 BTC / current diff with 3% fee, a flat PPS, with payout anytime if balance is at least 0.01 BTC, and no maturing to wait for. Granted, I prefer mining on MtRed now. You may call 50BTC unattractive, IMO it's still a lower PPS fee compared to say BTCGuild PPS at 5% fee. But how are those fees weird? I can't really get your point.

As far as I know, CashVouchers is the name of the system/brand, and CashMoney is the term they use for their (USD-equivalent) e-currency. Ukash is another unrelated entity (untested). I have used CashMoney with XMLGold. What I can say about it? It works, but it's expensive (high fees).

Pretty amateurish I would say, but at least it's an honest answer and you know what's going on...

The is also the 50Miner GUI for several popular CLI miners like cgminer, poclbm, phoenix or Diablo, and themselves are using each other's core, like poclbm, diablo or phoenix. It was built and designed for the 50BTC pool, especially in Simple mode, but the Advanced mode you can use any pool that you want, including those supporting/requiring the Stratum protocol instead of getwork. Windows only, requires .NET Framework version 4

Hello, I guess you will get several PMs with quotes from individuals (readers). There are also automated exchangers like http://xmlgold.eu that will exchange PayPal money for bitcoins. I have tested the other way round (exchanging other e-currency for PayPal USD), it works, although transactions are processed manually during (European) business hours. And there are fees of course... No endorsement from me, just a positive feedback on my test transaction. Cheers, Matt EDIT: you must go through CashVouchers / CashMoney between PayPal USD and bitcoins on XMLGOLD. This raises the fees a bit more...

What is the status of the OKPAY withdrawal in the "Account History" (USD) of your MtGox account? Did you open a support request on MtGox already? They have been quite responsive to my requested regarding the same issue.

Hello,
Do you get a warning message when launching GUIminer, telling you that no GPU could be found, or is it just not in the device list? Can you use the Catalyst Control Center normally ? Does anything look wrong (warning sign) in the Device Manager ?
Cheers,
Matt.

Hello,
I have made several OKPAY withdrawal from MtGox. They charge 1% but normally, it's more or less instant (between 5 and 15 minutes to complete the transfer, I would say). Yesterday they froze the system because of the chain fork, and MtGox to OKPAY withdrawal also seemed frozen, listed as "Todo". But now everything seems back to normal, good.
Matt
