2001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] When will BTC be accepted as payment by AMAZON.COM? on: January 03, 2015, 09:38:06 PM
Please vote so we can see what people think going forward.

It isn't a matter of IF...but WHEN it will happen. Roll Eyes

Let's pray it's a ways down the road. An Amazon integration in the current lopsided state of integration would cut the price of bitcoin in half.

We need everyone in the community demanding wages in bitcoin to offset the huge relentless auto-dumping network of merchants.

Here's how you can help save bitcoin: https://www.bitwage.co/
2002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Started getting paid 100% in Bitcoin starting with my last paycheck on: January 03, 2015, 08:40:39 PM
I work for General Dynamics, a company that is suckling on the US government's teet. They would never risk their sweet military industrial complex relationship with the government by accepting bitcoins.

I use bitwage.co (I do not work for them, just happy that I can get paid in Bitcoin).

I set up my direct deposit to the account number they provided me and my last paycheck it was all converted to bitcoins automatically. My bank never saw a penny of my paycheck.

That is the first step in dumping my bank forever.

For spending money I usually sell on localbitcoins for a profit anyway so I always have some cash on hand. And pretty much anything I want online can be paid in Bitcoin.

This is awesome! Thanks for the head's up about bitwage.co!  Cheesy
2003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Price Dropping ? How can I Protect The Value Of My Bitcoin. on: January 03, 2015, 01:18:59 AM
Hello Everyone here

That's a question I always ask myself, weather its in the morning when I wake up, during the day as I read all those negative BTC reviews or even at night as I stay up contemplating weather or not my BTC will be worth less by the time I wake.

I came to a simple 3 point solution.

- Stay informed (News is key to staying ahead of any future price dips)

- Prepare for future scenarios (Hedge the risk of any possible adverse market conditions by having exit/re-entry strategies)

- Take immediate action (When the market falls get out before the panic erupts. Do not be a Bitcoin romantic. Emotional attachment will cost you.)

I'm not fear mongering here, Im simply being realistic. We all know the concept of Bitcoin is still pretty new and as we have seen with other bubbles, some burst and some float to great heights.

Thanks

The reason the price is going down is simple. The Bitcoin community needs to understand that each time a giant merchant integrates bitcoin on the POS side, without also offering a bitcoin payroll option to employees, it's like putting another brick on the "sell side" of a see saw.

What we have now is a giant network of Bitpay auto-sellers dumping coins on the market. These merchants are relentlessly auto selling regardless of BTC price, and there's simply not a big enough pool of market buyers to offset this unstoppable selling machine. The only solution is to pay more people in bitcoin.
2004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ironically, the best way (for the bitcoin ecosystem) to spend your bitcoins is.. on: January 02, 2015, 12:09:09 AM
I wonder if there could be a way to convince BitPay to implement the best of both worlds here? Whenever a purchase is made, don't put an immediate-sell order on the market, but just place a bid (offering the customer a small discount in exchange for a small delay to confirm the transaction maybe?).

I think what Bitpay should be doing is selling payroll solutions to merchants that integrate BTC at POS side. This would allow merchants to funnel bitcoins from sales into payroll rather than dumping them on the market. For bitcoin to survive it must become more than a token purchase system.
2005  Economy / Speculation / Re: January approaching. Bull run about to begin? on: January 01, 2015, 12:14:52 AM

I fairly believe that Bitcoin is going to start picking up from 1st Jan onwards.
I have strong reasons to believe so.

Do you agree? Why/why not?

This is what's happening:

1. The bitcoin community as a whole is focused on merchant integration on the POS side alone.

2. These efforts have succeeded, resulting in ever increasing selling pressure. (merchants generally dump the bitcoins daily)

It will be impossible to line up enough individual buyers to compete against this massive seller network. The only solution is to change focus and give some attention to the payroll side of the equation. This will help turn merchants into bitcoin users instead of bitcoin sellers.

Unless we see more attention paid to this side of the scale, expect the price to continue its steady decline.
2006  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Bastards on: January 01, 2015, 12:09:03 AM
We all love to hate altcoins. But they are mostly just clones. What have altcoins taught us about where the price of Bitcoin is headed. Early holders creating artificial scarcity, price jumps due to limited supply, illiquid markets and exchanges painting the tape, slow price dumps with many bulltraps on the way down...

Serious altcoins are here to bring the consumer choice. And consumers will ultimately decide which coins succeed and become widely adopted.

2008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ALTS benefit in a Bank Cash Squeeze environment? on: December 31, 2014, 11:56:49 PM
It will be an interesting year coming up.

One scenario that may happen is increasing deflationary pressure could put banks at risk of not having enough physical cash to go around for the everyday joe.

IN a deflationary situation precious metals look bearish for awhile.

So, in the interim ..... what ALT crypto benefits?

Or, is such a cash squeeze environment generally bearish for cryptos as a whole?

I think digital currencies can be a decent hedge against inflation for those with a high risk tolerance.

The next big growth opportunity lies in finding (and investing in) the altcoin that will eventually rise to challenge the crypto king.
2009  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptsy and Ripples - very high risk on: December 31, 2014, 11:47:40 PM
Even after 1 year they still have some problems unbelieveble. I suggest you all to stay away from cryptsy. (a.k.a craptsy)

Jesus had problems. That doesn't mean we should stay away from Jesus.  Kiss
2010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be sold/given back? on: December 31, 2014, 11:44:36 PM
Miners are paid for there efforts in BTC, then the money is either spent or converted to cash. Instead of selling the coin to an exchange, could the network (using some crazy ass algorithm) buy those coin's back, thus prolonging the 21 million threshold. As I'm writing this I'm thinking, perpetual motion.  Huh

This is outside of the ruleset and not possible.
2011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin was just an investment? on: December 31, 2014, 11:41:54 PM
Im coming closer to conclude that

Bitcoin is a digital currency making inroads into traditional payment portals. It's time now to get vendors on the payroll train.
2012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me find a way to contribute to the community on: December 31, 2014, 11:08:39 PM

Accept bitcoin only for payment or wages. That's what this currency needs most at this time.

2014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anybody ever successfully double spent? on: December 31, 2014, 03:07:51 PM
Question is: how could a Joe like me that has  0 hash power be able to double spend even with 0 confirmation transactions that sooner or later will be identified?

What would happen if you and your wife had cloned wallets and visited two separate merchants who accepted bitcoin and made purchases using synchronized watches?
2015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you want a subreddit to discuss bitcoin, NOT infested with trolls... on: December 31, 2014, 03:00:45 PM
I get a lot of good news from r/bitcoin. No forum or subreddit is going to be 100% troll-free, just the nature of the internet.

Yes. There is always "good news" to be found in the /r/bitcoin reddit. It's one giant cheerleading forum.

I think maybe the constructive criticism is there too, but you'll need to search the downvoted posts on the 100th page. lol
2016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why it all went wrong in 2014 - but why 2015 can be better. on: December 31, 2014, 02:52:12 PM

Every time bitcoin adds a new big merchant like Microsoft or Time, it gets another gremlin-auto-dumper selling bitcoins on the market.

The only way to counter-balance this effect will be to integrate BTC on the payroll side. This will balance the scales by allowing merchants to funnel the BTC from POS to payroll rather than auto-selling at market price via Bitpay and others.

Overstock would be a great candidate for this type of integration. It could even possibly put them in the role of Bitcoin buyer if the payroll volume exceeded sales volume. Additionally, any business without a retail side (such as a manufacturer) would become a BTC buyer to meet payroll needs.
2017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next best alternative cryptocurrencies after bitcoin? on: December 31, 2014, 02:40:44 PM
So after mining bitcoin the mathematical questions will become too hard for the use of power and will not be profitable what is your next choice of cryptocurrency?

This question is a mess. lol.

This invalid confusion needs to be removed: "the mathematical questions will become too hard for the use of power and will not be profitable."
2018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: people saying it's going sideways need to check their heads on: December 31, 2014, 02:24:20 PM
the downtrend is as intact as it was all year. This thing points DOWN.
This is no sideways-market.

Every time bitcoin adds a new big merchant like Microsoft or Time, it gets another gremlin-auto-dumper selling bitcoins on the market.

This behavior takes the altcoins down as well since they're tied to BTC.

2019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: when altcoin will be all dead? on: December 30, 2014, 06:11:44 PM
seems that in 2014 there are many altcoin was created , but also. dead so many

most of them are scam , nowadays new algo can not make a coin succeed anymore

like X11 X12 X13 X14......ect
really want to know when will the altcoin all dead

or something new in 2015?

After the consumer embraces Bitcoin, they will seek alternatives. The altcoins that succeed will be those that attract the consumer.
