I don't really see Mintcoin going any lower. Mintcoin is lots of fun and the devs and community are continually building the infrastructure. This is important for growth and for added value which will push the price up and quickly. Mintcoin reached 64 satoshis overnight from 20 satoshis and it will again. This time it could easily push past 200 satoshis. I can sense big things in the works for Mintcoin in the coming weeks. Mintcoin to the moon.
Hope you're right bro! Really hope so. What else can we as coin holders do to help out the entire effort? I've already annoyed everyone I knoe telling them about Mintcoin and I've given away 50,000 to people to get them to download the wallet and get into the coin. Any ideas about what else to do?

Ways to boost the price include adding exposure, value, and utility to the coin which creates demand and adding direct demand subsequently raises the prices.

--You can post an ad on Craigslist offering free Mintcoins. Put up a description of PoS, etc.
--Post up paper ads at college/university bulletin boards advertising Mintcoin.
--Give Mintcoin to friends and family and tell them to give a few to other people as well.
--Make ad campaigns on Facebook advertising Mintcoin.
--Advertise Mintcoin using Google, that goes to a landing page which you create that teaches people about the wonders of Mintcoin.
--Put up ads in hardcopy newspapers.
--Contact all sorts of online merchants and ask them to accept Mintcoin to improve sales. This may be hobby shops, precious metal stores, gun shops, flashlight retailers, battery retailers, toy retailers, anyone, spread the word.
--Whenever you see small sell walls, try to eat them up. Or put up buy support just a hair under the highest bid price.
--Whenever some event may possibly push the price up, try to put some BTC in to support the cause, eat the sell walls, or pick at them, and add support to the buy side. Every little bit helps. Spread the word about what you are doing as well, try to get concerted action from others.

If one hundred people did everything on this list the results would be incredible. If 500 people would participate then we would really get somewhere.

Yesss

Its everyday the same, the whales choose a coin, pump it, make hype around it, dump it for a alot of profit.
Thats the same game everytime. This time it was Blackcoin.
But it also has a golden side: More people found out about this beautiful coin  Wink
So maybe we will see the price back at 1000, maybe 800, who knows, but thats no big deal because the community here is one of the best i ever met   Wink
So with the multipool project and another good ideas this will soon go forward and the price will rise

Ah and by the way, i lost everything cause of Wolongs great Pandastory and only had 0,3 BTC left and i bought BC for 250 satoshi the first day directly from the miners, and mined some by myself,
Now i got about 2,5 BTC only because of this coin and 100k blacks, this brought me directly back to business  Grin

so i found out you only can win with this baby  Grin

So GO GO GO!!!

+1

This is a great coin - great community, I've loaded up more on dips to 1500, don't care about day to day fluctuations. In for the long haul!

I'm fully agree with you.
But I think this coin is already at it's dump side and made for myself decision that it is the time to switch to another. For now I am inclined to GhostCoin because it's  new, also has POS reward system and cheap prices at exchanges. And I wish it will repeat BlackCoin's luck.

Ghostcoin, really? Premine + only 2hr per-announce + instamine + POS 20% for first 2 years/POS 25% for the next 2 years/POS  30% for the following 2 years. Really? You think that is going to be the next BC? I think you would have better luck with the likes of ECCoin.

beware of bc crap-clones riding coattails...

More of a Mintcoin clone since it is PoW/PoS hybrid, but yes I agree completely.

anyway we should be on cryptorush soon I hope

So you all can have a race to see who can drive it into the dirt the quickest. 1 satoshi here we come.

I understand your concern. I, for one, want it to be put on exchanges so that I can buy it- not so that I can dumb what I've mined- hopefully there are others like me.

hey guys, we are all the community of mintcoin
I think we dont know how does the multipool effect, so dont discuss that. thats no result.
i know the price is important part of a coin... but not the most.
if we want to make mintcoin be better, i think charity project is great. especially for environmental project!
thats why it calls mintcoin, right?

we have more exchange market than blackcoin
we can make great idea from this

I think we are just in consolidation. This is a good coin with a good community. We just need Time... Peace.

you are right. but need multipool
Done! Someone made a multipool yesterday: http://www.mintpool.us

port 4444 is full maybe. i can`t connect
i post my idea about charity with doge in mintcointalk
i dont know who is working on charity
but i think we can talk with dogecoin foundation about charity, cooperation is needed

Dev posted earlier today about something already being in the pipeline, I donno what that is though but I'm excited to find out. I like this idea of working with the dogecoin foundation though! they have accomplished some pretty awesome stuff through their foundation (Jamaican bobsled, dog shelter, doge4water, etc).

no point the vote ends in 35 minutes. it was only a 45 minute vote! http://strawpoll.me/1327642  GET YOUR VOTE IN 35MINUTES LEFT

If we use the largest volume exchange and it's done once every 24 hours people will set their sell orders a little higher around the expected buy time, which means less bc (and incentive) for the miners in the multipool, although if the price goes up then this may be negated... such a dilemma.

The whole point is to mine the most profitable coins, sell them at the best prices possible, and buy the most BlackCoin possible with the proceeds. To do that, whatever coins are being mined should be sold immediately as each block matures, on whatever exchange is currently offering the highest price, and the BlackCoin should be immediately bought off of whatever exchange is offering the lowest price to maximize the number of BlackCoins going to the miners. This avoids having to dump massive amounts of whatever coin is being mined at once and gets a higher, more consistent price, and it avoids having to buy BlackCoin in large quantities at once for inflated prices. Obviously, all the buying and selling should be as automated as possible, and the only way to avoid having people game the system is to have the buying and selling happen in small quantities spread over time/exchanges to get the best ROI for the miners.

I also think it is very important to not tell anybody what coin is being mined or where they are being sold until after the coins are sold and the pool has moved on to the next coin, and to not tell anybody what exchange the BlackCoins are being bought from until after they are bought. If people know what coins are being mined, there is nothing stopping big holders of those coins from dumping their holdings and lowering the price, knowing that soon after, the multipool will be dumping those coins and they can buy back in at a much cheaper price. The inverse applies with buying BlackCoins… if people know where they are going to be bought and when, they are simply going to put up overpriced sell orders because they know that the pool has to buy them at whatever price they can get them at, and the miners end up with less coins for their time. I’d much rather have the price of BlackCoin rise slowly across all exchanges than be a roller coaster on one exchange. Slow and steady benefits the miners, which is what I kinda thought the whole point of the multipool is supposed to be. Roller coaster only benefits traders and pump ‘n dumpers, and I say fuck them… they have a hundred or more other shit coins that they can do their thing with.

TL;DR – Mined coins should be sold as blocks mature and on whatever exchange has highest price, Blackcoin should be bought in a continuous process from whatever exchange has the lowest price, and none of the information regarding what coins are being mined, where they are being sold, or where the Blackcoins are being bought should be made public knowledge until after the fact.

+1

Well-stated. Worth heeding.

+1+1. I am disappointed by all the people who voted for manually buying the coins on the highest vol exchange every 24 hours (72% of the votes atm)... so dumb... kinda shows how many people really don't understand how this is supposed to work.

Cryptoeagle... dafuq.. this coin brings absolutely nothing new or innovative to the table... how did they get so many votes so quickly??? ECC deserves to be on the exchange. I'm going to keep voting for ECC- on Mintpal too. ECC is like an even better distributed Mintcoin, whats not to love!?

try command setgenerate true -1 in the console

you can use variables 1,2,3,4, or -1 to assign processing power to generation, -1 is 100% cpu usage
Woah. I just did this and I instantly started to mint. I didn't think I was even up for minting yet because I moved coins on the 9th of march...
mgburks77, stormia, others: how will it impact your minting? You'll mint more often or for more mint? I my first 20 day period just ended (and I received mint), does it mean I will have to wait 20 more days to see a difference?
It may just be coincidental that it seems to have had an effect on my minting, others who probably have way more knowledge about such things have said that adjusting setgenerate will only affect PoW mining.

Anybody going to this yet? http://www.mintcointalk.com/index.php/topic,351.0.html

We really need to have some people represent us at that convention. I would offer but I am in the middle of graduate school and the only conferences I can get time off to go to (if I'm lucky) are ones related to my field..

So , any reason why should I throw in some money on this? Looks promising but that's not enough !

fair distribution of coins,

all holders hold less then 2%
no mining to inflate supply
Proof of stake is only 1 %
Ah, so mining all coins in 5 days is fairer than mining them in years like PPC?
And all holders hold less then 2%? Holy fuck. In BC every individuum can only own one address? Great!

Lol careful.. this community is very sensitive and delusional about how well the coins have been distributed.
2034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Blackcoin's own BLACKHOLE please read carefully on: March 16, 2014, 07:01:32 PM
Interesting idea but seems like a bit of an unfair advantage for the people who already have masses of BC.. Essentially providing "buy" support without there actually being any new investors/bagholders, thereby artificially raising the price and making it harder for new investors to get in.. Screams to me: Use your hashpower to make those lucky few who managed to mine during the one week it was available richer!  Roll Eyes

Why wouldn't I just use the multipool and actually get paid the BC I mine while still providing buy support? That way I increase demand while increasing my stake in the coin, rather than simply destroying the supply thereby making it harder to distribute the coin and mostly benefiting those who already have a large stake in the coin. Through the multipool, BC can be distributed to new investors who are now able to get involved with this coin using their rigs and who add real buy support. Through this.. idk...

Maybe I don't understand Proof-of-Stake as well as I thought, but to my knowledge all setgenerate does is cause your CPU to mine Proof-of-Work.  That is irrespective and unrelated to Proof-of-Stake block mining, is it not?

My mistake. Correlation is not causation, probably a coincidence that my minting started right after I did this.

Quote
Payouts occur usually somewhere between 2300 - 0300 CST, depending on how much volume is being traded.

So... every night between 23.00 and 03.00 Mint gets pumped and the price probably rises. To me that sounds like an oppertunity that can be easily exploited...  Huh

I think Mint is better of with a steady increase instead of one pump per day where we all pay the grand price any whale sets for us... Please fix this Sad

Yeah that's not right. Definitely should be an all day thing

They could make the payout within a designated time frame so that people know when to expect their payout, but they could do the actual purchasing of MINT at random, undisclosed, or spread-out times so that people can't exploit the pump.

can anyone explain to me how can i get stake interests ?
ive been keeping my MINT in my wallet for 20 days, but cant see any stake on wallet ?
why ?  i didnt encrypt my wallet.

Heya, lets see if we can find the root of the problem.

Are you using the newest wallet (v1.5)? Did you move/send any of your coins in that wallet during those 20 days? When you open the wallet to stake, how long are you leaving it open?

thanks for your quick reply,
let me clarify:

my wallet is V1.4--- will update the newest.
i put coins in my wallet 20 days ago, i didnt move any coins at all.
i just opened my wallet some time to get sycned,, thats all, once it sycned, i closed wallet.
( do i have to open the wallet for 20 days sequensely, so that i can get stake interest ? )

Well I actually haven't started staking myself yet so my experience is limited. But based on what I've been seeing on the forums from other people working out the process, it seems like the following might help:

1. Upgrade wallet.
2. You may have to wait longer than 20 days, there is no guarantee that you will find a PoS block on the 20th day or any given day. The longer you wait and the more coins you have the better your chance of finding a block (analogous to hashpower and time when trying to find a PoW block). This also means that if some of your coins were deposited later than the 20 day old ones, they aren't able to stake yet but as they reach coin age and the stakeable amount increases your likeliness of finding a PoS block will increase.
3. When you open your wallet to mint, leave it open longer than is needed just to sync up. I'm not sure how long exactly but maybe a few hours? Definitely don't need to leave it open continuously for 20 days though.
