2023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ifeelgoods Raises $6.5 Million To Ride The Facebook Credits Wave on: June 29, 2011, 11:38:25 AM
Wait what?  Facebook funny money is a successful thing?   A program rolling out with it?    Is FB going to try and compete with Bitcoin as far as digital currency?

I hope they know the only reason they will survive, is when these stupid fake coins have value, they are allowing themselves to become of the biggest and easiest targets for hackers ever.
2024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay removing Bitcoin listings... on: June 29, 2011, 11:36:20 AM
"Please do not list any additional items that will be electronically sent to the buyer."

Guys.  Stop listing the Bitcoin in the auction.

Sell a damn USB stick that "Has gone unchecked and unclean, I do not know the files, if any, on the stick"

Link to your auction through a locked off forum that eBay cannot see themselves without registering, all threads pointing to eBay can list the actual contents of the USB stick.  To the next level, let's put porn and other things on those USB sticks too.  See how many 'dirty' usb sticks you can sell on eBay.

Why would this be any different than the people who sell unlocked/unopened safes for large amounts of cash based on the fact that no one knows what is inside?
2025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is a passworded WINRAR file an effective encryption method? on: June 29, 2011, 11:31:28 AM
Go with TrueCrypt.

I know this shouldn't matter, but I think it would be weird to protect something so valuable with a program everyone has on their desktop.   I am not sure why I feel like it matters to me, but it does, I can't find the logic in it yet.
2026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Porncast Podcast - Episode 0.00 - "Bitcoin for The Common Man" on: June 29, 2011, 11:29:03 AM
Thanks Vegetta.

All right, first ep is what I would def call a success in the sense that my interest was already there, just needed to make sure there was people wanting a different audio podcast to what is out there (and not "competition" .. I think I have in one way or another talked with most of the other Bitcoin Podcast people through email, PM's, even got one persons phone # now!)

A guest should be ready on the first 'true' episode, not going to announce it and all of a sudden that person pulls back.   Thanks to all that decided to listen and message Smiley

It only looks like the exchanges are influencing the price, they are actually discovering it.
This.

Love that commercial.
2029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to pay with BTC in person on: June 29, 2011, 04:44:52 AM
I swear I seen FirstBits mentioned before, but I think this was my first time using the site.  Well done.

Also, back to the thread, I think a text messaging format could be worked out to make things as 'automated' as possible.

BBanzai, I get the feeling you think people are hoarding or is there not enough people doing work for/with Bitcoin as far as selling and buying actual items?
2032  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitTalk.TV | Atom and Atlas on Bruce Wagner's The Bitcoin Show. on: June 29, 2011, 03:33:04 AM
Watching now, f'n awesome.

Amusing how Bruce wanted to start out doing a weekly show and it went from there, I see you guys already have that in mind, I know there is so much to discuss where there could be enough audio and video combined to just do a 24 hour Bitcoin Network pooling all the shows together and creating unique content.

And yes I typed that thought 'outloud' so you deep dark webmasters that just like creating huge sites, get on it (or Atlas, get on that, your domain would work with this lol).

Good points regarding Bitcoin and entrepreneurs.  I am going to hit "Post" now before I type out a thought after every couple of minutes  Tongue  Good show so far, awesome to see you two on with Bruce

I am pretty sure that is just a line representing that part in Donnie Darko when he has those bubbles in front of him and just follows it along through time and space or something.  I am pretty sure it's that.
2035  Other / Off-topic / Re: Funds for Adoption on: June 29, 2011, 02:25:25 AM
I sadly see the wrong in someone who is attempting to take a child out for adoption asking for donations.

I think everyone else fails to realize that a poor pair of parents is probably still better than a foster home.

Best of luck Threshold with the whole adoption process, I hope it works out well and you come out of this with a great family Smiley

2037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would it take for you to pour entire life savings into Bitcoins? on: June 29, 2011, 01:23:10 AM
I would first have to acquire this 'life savings' that supposedly has value.
2038  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Redesigned Website - Feedback Wanted on: June 29, 2011, 01:13:10 AM
First, is http://www.searchbitcoin.com/ the url?

If so.  To answer, it is bland, which isn't a bad thing as it makes that ticker with the items the focus.  However, to go into the next question, the site came off as confusing for me, as the ticker was so small, I did not realize that and the products within are the focus of the site.

I would tone down the size of the navigation surrounding that product box, or find a way to make more items visible on initial load.

Good luck, it is very clean looking.
2039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Survive? Is It Legal? - Forbes on: June 29, 2011, 01:07:42 AM
That's what is exciting... there is no way to stop it, but they have to try. Government has to because of taxes, finance has to try because of fees. It's on. It's going to make napster v. music look like a thumb wrestling match. IMHO

Realistically, nerds better get on telling their parents and grandparents about this funny money sooner than later, because once government informs an older person on how to think, it's pretty much done.
