2021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: July 03, 2021, 11:59:31 PM
I think the Ramos one was a known thing for a while inside, and they just didn't want to pay that much money for a veteran player who is out of the door anyway because of his age, but I doubt that Varane thing was something they planned, certainly not with Ramos leaving at the same season, they would have kept Ramos one more season if they knew that Varane would leave, however dude just wanted to get out.
I still think that it is Real Madrid and they have a ton of money and they could end up using that money to get defenders, they already got one and they are looking for another.
Instead of making a big spending and get another superstar like they always do each season, for example instead of getting Mbappe or something like that, they could just instead split that money and buy two amazing defenders all they have to do is convince those players to come join them.
In any case, the very status of both the super club and the financial capabilities should allow Real Madrid to find defenders of a decent level for themselves. As for Ramos, I would like to say the following: Sergio was not just a defender, but the leader of the team, the so-called leader of the locker room. It was not by chance that there was information that the non-extension of the contract was due to the deterioration of relations between Ramos and Florentino Perez, when after the 1-4 defeat to Ajax, Ramos, who missed the game due to disqualification, stood up for the team, and then clashed verbally with the boss. Therefore, everything is not clear here, especially since Ancelotti stated that he could not imagine a team without Ramos.

Why do people think that just because Roma got Mourinho suddenly they are going to be so much better? I mean I am seeing people who think that Roma could actually end up winning the season just because Mourinho is there and that just shocks me a lot. This is the same guy given Spurs last season and got fired because he got so many bad results and Spurs sucked all season.
Why do you think that it will be any different for him in Roma and he will turn things around and make them champions? Not like Roma was awesome before he came in neither, they finished the season at 7th as well, so to take a manager that made spurs a bad team and put him in the 7th of the Serie A league and then expect him to suddenly make that team into a winner? Why do people think that, I believe they are going to be top 10 for sure but even top three will be impossible for them.
Without good players, they will not go so far even in Serie B. People hyping Mourinho is normal, they remember his past but his experience with Spurs was mixed with a successful start and catastrophic ending. The team pretty much collapsed at some point and he failed to stop that. Well I still think he can do something with Roma but he has to pick good players and update his strategy.
I also immediately thought that at first Mourinho's results at Tottenham were not so bad that we can immediately talk about failures, although of course, in any case, final conclusions can be made only after the end of the tournament. In any case, Jose Mourinho has not yet said his last word in the coaching craft and everyone is well aware of his capabilities as a great motivator, although recently it has been playing even against him. Personally, I was surprised when I learned about the signing of a contract with Roma, because as far as I know, Tottenham did not officially break the contract with Mourinho and would continue to pay further under the contract in order not to pay compensation for the break. I thought that Jose would arrange a little sabbatical for himself.
2023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CONMEBOL] Copa America 2021 Discussion Thread on: July 03, 2021, 11:37:44 PM
Argentina is weird, they are sometimes very strong (like now with their 4-1 victory), but they are never constantly strong for several games in a row. Happy to see Messi scoring though, he deserves a big international title. Although Neymar also deserves it although he is quite a bit too much crying on the pitch. Doesn't change the fact that he is an outstanding soccer player.
You are right. Argentina Play well but they can not keep it for long time. Sometime they win a match with good difference sometime they lose their energy to protect the match. If they can keep the winnings regularly like brazil they could see another world cup in past few world cup s. Only 3 hours left to start todays match. I hope something interested things will be happened todays match.
Just to have a player of such a level as Messi is a great happiness for any team in the world and any national team, but it can also be a big curse, because the main players clearly do not reach his level, as it happens, for example, in Barcelona. Therefore, for any coach of the national team of Argentina, there is a dilemma: on the one hand, it is a crime not to use a player like Messi, but on the other hand, using such a trump card effectively lacks team resources, but in any case it is necessary to build a team game around Messi.

Good to hear the Federer has won again, it seems that he is getting back to his form. It was a tough battle against Norrie. Sonego is next, but he is more of a clay court player, so I guess Federer has some advantage of him.
Medvedev has to be stretch by Cilic in a 5 setter, it's a good comeback from Medvedev as he is down 2 sets but he recovers himself and won the next 3.
For Roger Federer, taking into account his age, the most important thing is not to delay matches too much and try to win with the least number of sets. Everyone knows how much Roger loves the Wimbledon tournament, so it is not surprising that Federer has put some emphasis on Wimbledon, choosing tournaments. Taking into account the latest results, we can talk about a certain advantage of Roger, but it is already difficult to call him a favorite. Medvedev generally won back from the score 2-0 for the first time in his professional career, but still five-set matches are difficult for him and the balance is now 2-6. However, if Medvedev wants to progress further, then he needs to improve this indicator.

I think it’s going to somewhat dangerous for Hamilton if Russell does become Merc’s second driver.  Russell will def take some shine away from Hamilton.  And doesn’t  Hamilton always have a clause in his contract that says he has a say in deciding who his partner is?  It’s gonna be still Bottas imho.  Hamilton will want none of Russell.  Grin
Possible penalty for Vettel after accidentally blocking  Alonso in his out lap..  which I’m kinda feel happy for because Russell could’ve been out of the top 10 if Alonso made the hot lap.
It turns out that there is no such clause in the contract or there was no such clause at all, because the head of Mercedes, Toto Wolff, said that the team would hold talks with Russell and Bottas this summer and make a decision maybe before the end of the season. I think that in any case, Bottas should stay until the end of this season, especially since his results seem to be slowly starting to improve. In any case, Wolf says that Hamilton's position in the team is unshakable and the team wanted to continue cooperation, and a choice will be made about the co-driver. Lewis ' wishes are clear, but the interests of the team are more important and it is in favor of these interests that a decision will be made.
2026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 03, 2021, 10:43:02 PM
England reaching the semifinals of Euro cup after 1996 and it is a long wait for the fans, even though i expected some other teams to reach the finals but it has come to a point that England has a real chance to be in the final and most probably win the cup and it all depends upon how Harry Kane is leading from the front as a captain and scoring goals or assisting in scoring them for the team.
Yes before the start of the competition no one thought that england would reach the semi finals and became a fovourite team to win the title with a almost a perfect score and clean sheets even if they played against some good teams like germany and croatia but its not over denmark  team is strong they need to be carefull and as you said they need their key players like harry kane and even sterling seems to be doing well he scored three goals so far.
The most amazing thing is that the England national team has still not conceded a single goal at the European Championship and has not conceded 7 matches in a row at all. Finally, HurriCane, who did not score at the beginning of the tournament, began to show results and scored 2 more goals. Another question is that the tournament grid of the England national team does not look as strong as the other side in terms of the status of the opponents, and I am still inclined to believe that Italy or Spain have more chances for the title than England or Denmark. The Danish national team is playing with deadly efficiency, but it is still difficult to call Denmark the favorite of the championship. Let's see how the semifinals turn out.
2027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: July 02, 2021, 11:59:23 PM
Ancelotti is called again at Real Madrid because Madrid know how good he was when he was with them, and talking about rebuilding the team,I don't think most changes will be made because all hope is on him to deliver, and win tittles for Madrid starting from this upcoming season.Rebuilding the team will be a long way to go,so I think he will just blend the young players with the experienced ones, buy experienced defenders to fill in the backline position since Ramos and Varane will be leaving to different clubs respectively.with that done,Madrid will contend for tittle next season
Let's hope that Ancelotti will make a result at Real Madrid, because no one in the club's management will give an opportunity for several years to build a new team with an eye to the future and no one will be engaged in pleasant memories of the past for a long time. This season was relatively unsuccessful for the club, but the club was quite close to the titles, both in La Liga and in the Champions League, so I think that the club's management will expect results at least at this level and even at least some title. Ancelotti is famous for his good relationships with players in most of his clubs and there should be no problems with the microclimate in the team. It's no secret that Zidane has lost human contact with some players. Another question is whether the club will really be able to provide high-quality players in the defensive line and how quickly they will fit into the team.
2028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 02, 2021, 11:50:43 PM
Juventus will keep dominance in this year but I have different prediction to choose who will get scudetto, now AS Roma have Jose Mourinho will give good effect for his team, we know almost club always success get domestic trophy when Mourinho become coach, just except with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester united before failed to give domestic trophy, now waiting what the best can do by Jose Mourinho for AS Roma?
Yeah,If Morinho does what he knows how to do best by providing a solid backline for the upcoming season,I think AS Roma will be a team that will give Juventus a tough time to defeat any time they meet.Juventus have been dominating, but with the arrival of Morinho,Roma might finish first or second this season.
Only the game will show everything, but judging by the result of Jose at Tottenham, there are some doubts. I have great sympathy for the figure of Jose himself, but the style of play that he has been imposing on his clubs lately is not only not bringing entertainment, but also the necessary result. I am far from thinking of already writing off Mourinho in the coaching field, as some are already trying to do, but still some changes are needed in his coaching schemes. Just good actions in defense will not bring the necessary result if they are not supported by effective actions in the offensive line.

If we are to give a player the attribute of been a "good player" it have to be someone who's will do so well in every aspect on the pitch of play. A player who's not good in penalty can't be called a good player.
The President of PSG (Al-Khelaifi) insisted Mbappe will not leave the club on a free transfer but I don't know how they are planning to make that happen maybe they have already sorted it out.
I don't think that a good player should be a universal master in all aspects of the game of football and in all playing positions. Although, of course, any English club and not only English would be happy to sign a contract with such a player. I hope that no one will argue, Leo Messi, with all his status clearly above the status of a good player, is not the best player in defensive actions. It is not for nothing that in football not all eleven players of the team are engaged in punching eleven-meter shots in turn, and the players who clearly succeed in this than other players, we will not take the recent Europa League final, because this is a slightly different case Wink I am also becoming interested in finding out exactly how the president of Paris Saint-Germain can force Mbappe out of the club for free next season. I would really like to hear the opinions of other people on this issue.

Yes, I agree, if you compare the games between Spain and Italy, I'm more sure that Italy has a bigger chance
As I said before most of Spain's wins were in extra time and penalties so if spain can draw then the chance is 50:50
Yes, Spain benefited from extra time and penalties. The only goal they got was from the touch of a Swiss player and there was no pure goal from Spain. Honestly, I can't predict Spain will win against Italy because if we look at the match, Spain doesn't have a chance to going further.
There are always chances, especially when the tournament fate is decided by a single match, the example of Switzerland, which first knocked out the world champions from France, and then made the not the weakest Spanish team sweat clearly shows this. Although I agree that according to the past matches and results, Italy looks clearly preferable, but I would not say that Belgium did not have any chances at all in the match against Italy. The chances were very good. It will be interesting to see the Italian national team when, according to the most likely scenario, Spain will take control of the ball and will not give up control of the entire game.

Mercedes is planning to add updates to its cars as it looks to regain its dominance in the Formula One world championship. So the current short term dominance by RedBull could be cut short. After Verstappen won the Styria Grand Prix, Hamiltondriver urged his team to make changes in the car in order to increase its speed.
Mercedes chief Toto Wolff said the focus is now on the 2022 car, but James Allison, director of the Mercedes technical office, made it clear that this did not preclude modifications to the current model.
The question for Mercedes now is that if they keep on fighting for this year's title, they could actually make that happen, but then next year's car will not be as good, whereas if they just let Red Bull win it this year, they will most definitely win it back next year for sure. It is just not an easy choice to make, it is really a difficult task and that is why I am not sure if they will actually do it or not. There is really no wrong answer here, it is racing and no matter what you do sometimes you just win because of luck, and sometimes you just lose because of being unlucky.
Of course cars play a big role, of course you need a good car, there is no denying that, but when two cars are as close as Red Bull and Mercedes cars, and when racers are this close in talent as well, it becomes a very tough task to win it by purely spending more money on this year's car, that is not going to guarantee anything.
The gap between the Mercedes and Red Bull cars is not so great that, like Ferrari, the championship is officially out of the fight, and there is no other way to call the recent step of the Italian team. Next season will have its own separate story with its own separate rules and priorities. And there is a chance to remain without a title this year, and not achieve anything next year, because many teams are already officially focusing on next year. Therefore, I believe that Mercedes will try to modernize the car until the last moment and fight for the title both in the individual competition and especially for the Constructors ' Cup.
2032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 30, 2021, 11:45:58 PM
I do not think that loyalty requires you to take less money. Consider how much money Messi has earned Barcelona so far, without Messi ever playing for Barcelona they wouldn't be near what they have been in the past 15 years, that dude made them a great team. Don't get me wrong Barcelona was a good team even before Messi, they have been a good team for decades, but they were not a team that was at the top of the list for 10 years in a row before him, that is a rare thing to do, and that is why him getting paid even if he doesn't provide as much anymore is a thing.
I remember Kobe Bryant getting paid 25+ million (which at the time was a big number, nowadays not so much) even during his injury years and even getting that extra cash on his last year as well, he didn't provide anything at all for 4 years, 3 years injury plus one year retirement tour, but he still got paid, why? Not because who he is, but because what he did for the team before.
It's not just about money at the same time, but only about money. You can talk about the loyalty of the player to the club and the club to the player, but there are all sorts of financial rules that need to be respected and followed so as not to have unpleasant consequences later, and I'm not sure that Messi and Barcelona want the liquidation and bankruptcy of the club as a thank you to the player for his career Wink It is because of them that the contract is still not signed and from July 1, Messi is officially no longer a Barcelona player and will have the status of a free agent, despite the fact that Barcelona president Joan Laporta does not formally allow this by all means. But the series continues, despite the failure of all deadlines.
2033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 30, 2021, 11:29:42 PM
De Bruyne and Hazard skipped the training with Belgium today.
They are at very high risk to skip the game on Friday evening with Italy.
IF they both skip the game then Italy will have a great shot.
It will be a very big loss, because this is no longer a group tournament and there is no right to make mistakes, and therefore you need to have all the strongest players of the main team at this point in time. De Bruyne has been unlucky lately to get injured at the most inopportune moment, like in the UEFA Champions League, for example, and now this has happened again. In modern football, a lot can depend on the presence of a creative player in the squad who can decide the outcome of the meeting, and we all remember very well how de Bruyne's exit in the match with Denmark turned the course of an unsuccessful game in favor of the Belgian national team. Exactly the same can be said about Eden Hazard, despite all his problems with injuries and playing at Real Madrid.
2034  Economy / Economics / Re: The trend of prices is still upward, any hope for downward? on: June 30, 2021, 11:14:46 PM
Why would these businesses decrease prices, if they have a legitimate excuse to inflate it? The consumer is the real victim of this whole Covid epidemic, because they are the ones that are absorbing the price increases. The merchants and middlemen are still making their profits and they are just pushing the cost onto the consumers.
I can take a bet now that even if this pandemic is done ....prices will not be adjusted to a economy that e recovered. (They will keep the prices inflated to make up for their so-called losses during the lockdowns) Roll Eyes
Exactly. Since this covid 19 has made most of the companies experience losses so there is no way that prices will tend to decrease even if covid 19 will be gone and people will recover from it. Price inflation will continue to happen so they can recover from all their losses.
I am a consumer and definitely the most affected about this pandemic but i never see any signs from big companies that they are adjusting their prices and i respect it. I know everyone of us especially for those who run businesses are greatly affected by this pandemic.
In general, I agree, but still, we should not confuse a sharp short-term rise in prices due to a shortage of the product itself, components for its production or disruption of supply chains, and an increase in prices due to inflation, when manufacturers are forced to do this or saw an excuse to increase their profits. In the first case, there is some hope for the restoration of the previous price increase, and in the second case, we may not see a price decrease, because it often happens that manufacturers and sellers try to keep the price of goods at the same level, even by reducing their profits, but after a certain threshold they still raise their price. But all this is applicable under conditions of normal market competition, with monopolism and collusion, slightly different mechanisms operate.
2035  Economy / Economics / Re: African regulators warn cryptocurrencies may not be legitimate on: June 30, 2021, 10:53:28 PM
The reason why African nations and media do not like bitcoin or any crypto is the fact that their own people could use it and disregard their fiat, which makes it even more worthless. I am not saying that people should use fiat to give it some power but when a wheelbarrow full of money worths as much as maybe 100 bucks at best,
I don't think that should be the major reason while they dislike cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin, my opinion I viewed that may likely caused some countries to disregard crypto is because of politicians more especially government, because government are seeing crypto as a source whereby politicians will use for money laundry, because investing via crypto or buying crypto and hold is another method of politicians to can use to embezzle funds, so that's only factor I seen that maybe the reason while africans disregard bitcoin from my own perspective and couple with other countries.
Ignoring cryptocurrencies by states or mass media is not the worst thing, it is much worse when it comes to bans on exposing cryptocurrencies only in a negative light. Undoubtedly, cryptocurrencies have their own disadvantages and features that may not suit the state authorities of any state, including less control over the turnover than for fiat currencies, but this is not a reason for the introduction of total bans. You just need to decide what bitcoin is considered and how it is regulated in each individual country and, starting from this, monitor compliance with the rules of the game. Undoubtedly, cryptocurrencies, and in particular bitcoin, if used correctly, can benefit both citizens and the entire economy of the state.
2036  Economy / Economics / Re: When everybody tell you take take risk with money on: June 28, 2021, 11:58:15 PM
Limit is on where something you should be mindful from time to time not only limited to investment but also in other common decisions in life to be taken because when you do have this kind of behavior then you wouldnt really get easily wrecked whenever such unfortunate events would happen. Also when it comes to investment decisions then you shouldnt really have that kind of behavior on listening to others because its your money on the first place which means that you are the only ones who could make out full decisions towards your funds. Risk only on the amount that you could afford to lose.
If you do not know the limits of risk with money, then in any case, you will not have enough money for a long time  Wink Just do not forget one simple thing, that not all people have enough patience to work with small amounts of money to earn as little money when there are a lot of stories about quick enrichment around. Therefore, we can talk as much as we like about limits and about some caution, but there will always be a temptation to risk a larger amount for the sake of getting more profit. Therefore, the absolute majority of people perfectly hear the voice of their reason, but unfortunately they do not always listen to this voice, hoping for a miracle.
2037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do ordinary people feel afraid of Bitcoin? on: June 28, 2021, 11:43:48 PM
The major reason why majority of the people is staying away without investing in cryptocurrency is because of the high volatility and that combined the number of scams taking place in the market and the number exchange hacks and most of the time these exchanges cease to exist after the hack leaving its customers dry and with all these risk involved majority will stay away from the market because the risk weighs much higher than the benefits it offers.
Yeah.. recently one of the South African exchanges got hacked and $4 billion worth of coins were stolen. And in the end, it turned out that the coins were stolen by the promoters themselves (Cajee brothers). These sort of incidents really scare ordinary investors. But at the same time, they need to understand that Bitcoin is an asset that can be stored by the individual without the help of any exchange or third party website. At least some of the noobs go for exchange wallets, because they are too lazy to create the wallets themselves. In such cases, they have only themselves to blame.
It's just that the absolute majority of people would like to earn a lot of money without absolutely no risk, and some of these people are looking in the direction of bitcoin  Wink But for the time being, these people do not understand that the more money they want to earn easily, the greater the risk it implies, and in the event of a negative scenario, frustration and fear of getting involved with this business begins. I fully understand their feelings and I think that it may be even good that someone has some concerns that can save them from large losses in the future. Yet fear did not appear in the process of evolution for nothing and helped a lot in the survival of our species.
2038  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: June 28, 2021, 11:37:53 PM
According to a new study published by the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, people who grew up in poor households are, as adults, more likely to be poor than those who grew up in rich households. Especially when faced with economic uncertainty in the future. Exposure to instability hinders their ability to complete challenging tasks. In one experiment, researchers found that individuals with poor childhoods gave up trying to solve difficult puzzles -- more than 25 percent gave up earlier than those with rich backgrounds.
And without proper research, it is clear that wealth breeds even more wealth. It is no secret to anyone, and joint research has been conducted on this topic, that the absolute greatness of today's great wealth is obtained not through earning from scratch, but through inheritance. It's just that y different strata of the population have different priorities and if the rich strata are looking for ways to increase their wealth and they have all the conditions and resources for this, it's the poor strata of the present who are deprived of all this and are simply concerned with the issues of a decent life at best, survival at worst. It's just that these are the rules of the game of modern civilization. And there is no need to talk about laziness and lack of diligence, it's just that all the billions of inhabitants of the Earth cannot be Gates and Bezos, purely physical.
2039  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Central Banks on: June 28, 2021, 11:24:42 PM
This talk carries a great deal of realism, yes it is true that it is difficult at the present time to adopt Bitcoin as a “united global currency” due to the great problems that the Bitcoin network suffers from in sending transactions, in increasing the size of the block and the large energy consumption in mining, which makes costs high, fees high and delay At the time of sending the transaction, it is not possible to complete a transaction to buy some widgets from the supermarket because this may take several hours and perhaps several days, there are of course many attempts to solve these problems such as the Bitcoin lightning network for example but these attempts are still futile as well.
Despite all this, I am optimistic about the future of Bitcoin and I believe that appropriate solutions will be found in the near future and I still have a strong belief that Bitcoin is the currency of the future.
I would not be so optimistic about bitcoin as the currency of the future, because there are many pitfalls that have hindered and will continue to hinder the functioning of bitcoin as a currency. I am benevolent and optimistic about the prospects of bitcoin itself in the future and I hope that nothing threatens this and I hope that the value and market prospects will only grow and improve. It's just that currencies are a rather delicate topic and states are unlikely to allow decentralization and chaos in this topic and will rather come up with their own version of an international centralized cryptocurrency.
2040  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID advanced the world into the future on: June 28, 2021, 11:09:43 PM
Every person the virus is passed on to gives the virus the change to mutate and become harder to control. The Delta variant is already far more transmissible than the Alpha variant, which was far more transmissible than the original strain. The virus is being given the opportunity to mutate because of the people who continue to downplay the severity of the pandemic, and those are almost exclusively conservatives in every country.
The viruses and its variant might always come and go, we cannot really prevent these by shutting down markets and closing out shops. I hope by now the governments have learned that the solution is not lockdowns but following protocols and moving to work can lead to better results.
As far as the virus pushing the world towards digitalization is concerned, I think there is no doubt that we have been forced to do a lot of things digitally which earlier we were doing manually or offline. Not sure how people will react after the virus completely vanishes, will they turn back to the traditional methods or get a knack of these online transactions.
It's just that lockdowns are the simplest and most affordable solution for governments in conditions when vaccines are not yet ready, vaccines have not yet been distributed among the population, and an effective treatment method has not been developed. Government officials are not suicidal and are well aware of the consequences of such actions, but they are forced to go for it. It's just that the world has not faced such situations in its recent history and is groping for effective methods of response. In the end, everything will be decided by economic efficiency and expediency, I think that after the pandemic, no one will cling to inconvenient and inefficient technologies just on the basis that these technologies are digital.
