2021  Economy / Economics / Re: Business failure among small-scale entrepreneurs on: October 14, 2022, 09:30:36 AM
To become a successful entrepreneur, of course, requires a process and has failed a lot, the big entrepreneur we see today is successful when he tells it, he will say that he has experienced many failures and is almost desperate because of bankruptcy and so on, but with enthusiasm and learning from mistakes they can success.
Those who are successful now have failed in the past, but I don't think there is a need for too many failures, because when there are more failures in an entrepreneur, he will get worse and take longer to get back up. The success of an entrepreneur is also due to long hard work and never give up and what don't forget is his experience in the field he is in.
Because when he had failed once or twice in his attempts, the third time would definitely not fail again because he already knew where the fault lies in the past which caused him to fail.

You can still work your ass up but you fail as an entrepreneur! Do you know what kills any business faster than others, it is the government and policy. I have seen so many micro, small and medium enterprises get shut down due to government change in their policy, it is not favouring business people and they are also not helping them, I'm even surprised that there is a fund allocated to support these MSME and the rate at which they are all closing down seem to be unappealing.

Among the top business listed by OP, the Gomyway reasons mentioned may not be the main reason why it was shut down, the government could also be among them because a similar business like Gokada has been shut down in the country and even OPay that are into transportation, and what pains me the most is that they don't take quick decisions on their launch, it is always when it has become successful.
2022  Economy / Economics / Re: Can commodities return to its price last year? on: October 14, 2022, 09:13:22 AM
They say that bad times are temporary so it is possible that prices can normalize soon together with the crypto and other markets so don't worry too much. For now you can still do something in order for you to survive like lessening your consumption of the items which price have doubled.

I know it's hard at first but you will soon get used to it. You can only raise your own chicken to obtain free eggs, you can plant your own crops, and so on. This can greatly reduce your expense and you will only spend your money on the items which you can possibly produce on your own. Investing our fiat money in assets like cryptos will also retain their value in the long run.

Bad times are temporary but go and check the basic prices of nesecities we used at home in the last 10 years. In fact, there are things we just can't do without even if we want to switch to alternatives, seasoning, for example, is a product you can't do without and its price has doubled, seeking for meat has a fish as an alternative but same fish has also doubled in price here, I doubt if there is even a single protein in the market that is still cheap, most options have all grown up in prices due to shifting in customers consumptions. As long as the circulation of fiat isn't reduced or make it deflationary, the price of goods and services will continue to shoot up.

I went to a boutique to buy some clothes 4 weeks ago and I was disappointed at how high clothes have become expensive, but looking at it though, I observe that the rate of importation is high here and they all depend on the dollar which is now high and scarce for a common business person and the banks are not helping them to provide.
2023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mexico is the next El Salvador? on: October 13, 2022, 01:25:11 PM
Right, this is why I keep wondering, must every country term Bitcoin a Legal tender before we can see it as being adopted by the country? I think because of local politics in every place, once proposed by a member of a different party might be fought against by others in the next party however, I think if it is not a case of Ban or prohibition as was previously stated by the Mexico's Finance Minister back in 2021, then whether it has been adopted as a legal tender of just allowed to be traded and exchanged in the country would be great as well.

There is acceptance and adoption and I believe the two are significantly different.
A country can decide to accept btc as a payment option without necessarily needs to legally adopt it. In fact, the way I see it.... it will be what most countries will end up doing, make a policy that will allow btc acceptance without adopting it as legal tender since the government will want to maintain their fiat position as the only legal tender.

Bitcoin being a legal tender increases our adoption without any limitation, while I think forcing it on people is not my thing, but legally adopting it gives a clear picture and a free room to buy and sell bitcoin without anyone or security operative abusing people because they don't know its legal status in the country.

I also think being legally adopted in a country send a message to people about the existence of bitcoin when they are in trouble with banks and other microfinance who facilitates transaction without satisfying their customers and it also makes people to live free without being seen as someone who is into fraud. There are countries, especially like mine that think that people who do bitcoin most often than not are into fraud, the society's view on bitcoin needs to be changed, and people need to be exposed to their ignorance.
2024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The irony of leaving your private keys in a bank on: October 13, 2022, 09:58:07 AM
Does anyone use a bank safe service to leave your trezor or whatever you use in there?
I can't think how tired you must back and forth from home to the bank just want to access your bitcoin on Trezor. And, I don't know what's function selling a safe box in a hardware store if don't use it for home which means we don't need bank again and cut the time for back and forth.

I also don't really trust bank security because a lot of CCTV which can peep you when you type Trezor pin in the safe room.

You just said one of the underrated points that most people would have ignored from banks, I can't imagine not been giving my own privacy when it comes to having access to my own property, this is one thing banks break that bitcoin fixes and then Op is asking, not knowing that he is giving them the privacy that was offered him by bitcoin to the same bank, that's claptrap thinking.

A hardware wallet exists for a reason and banks also exist for another reason, a Trezor wallet or hardware wallet was never in its discussion during the design and structure to be given to anybody, it should remain a secret by the owner and with the owner itself, no middleman that's what bitcoin represents.
2025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years ago this man was accused to be Satoshi on: October 13, 2022, 09:44:33 AM

WOULD YOU DECLINE SUCH AN ACCUSATION? Grin

Of course, i will decline. I am not qualified to be at that spot to be called Satoshi or a lair to introduce myself as someone i am not. I prefer myself to be an introvert. So my room is my world. I don't want to go out or earn public fame to ruin my world. I am happy as who i am right now.

By the way, Maybe Satoshi himself is reading this. Then here's what i have to say to him - You have paved the path, and we will walk on that to make your dream come true. We support you through every ups and downs.
You are a legend, man.

I will gladly oblige such status, not because I'm introverted or want to become one but because the narrative of bitcoin is going to change from being a decentralised value to a centralized cult and the belief of bitcoin will reduce including the soldiers surrounding and defending it over the years.
Aside from looking at the ways to protect the reputation of bitcoin, I wouldn't want to become the target and prone to the world, the governments will be hunting you, the CIA, the FBI, and the SEC and do you know why? They will all want to probe him for bringing freedom to the people and also want to have a share of that 1 million bitcoin in his custody.
2026  Economy / Economics / Re: Savings during inflation on: October 13, 2022, 08:41:33 AM
~snip~

and related to saving when inflation is indeed difficult to do. and very risky too if we save in the form of money. because the value of money will continue to decline over time. so it is not wise if we save money when inflation takes place. it's the same as intentionally we make the value of our assets evaporate.

As you said, what kind of assets should we save so that the asset value does not evaporate? If you save in bitcoin and the bitcoin price is now more than 70% off ATH, is that really the savings that keep you out of inflation? Once inflation rises, all commodities rise and riskier assets like bitcoin and gold inevitably fall. I feel that once inflation occurs it is inevitable, apart from saving fiat, and long-term investment, the only way to fight inflation in the short-term is to work hard, do more than usual, find more sources of income to fight inflation.

The people and the salary earners who are working under the federal government are the highest paid in most countries, they are heavily paid and work as hard but they are deeply affected by inflation, and our parents are complaining and crying in pain, what do you have to say about that? You can't beat inflation by working your ass out my friend.

Inflation is not overcome in a single day or month or year, it takes time as a person or a country to jump out of it, if our interest is as a person, you would have to start investing especially now that most markets are down for long investments, assets like Bitcoin and by the time everything skyrocket, you will be at the front line when everybody will be shouting of increase in the price of goods and services, it possible that we may see another decline in investments those times but I know you know better that bitcoin always stand out as a rock that doesnt bleed the way other investments does, just imagine you bought 10 bitcoin in 2020 when the price was $5k.

In summary, If you must beat inflation as a person, work hard and buy deflationary assets like Bitcoin and enjoy the outcome(always rosy at the end).
2027  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you felt the impact of inflation so far? on: October 13, 2022, 08:14:45 AM
Regardless of anything, don't think that the rich don't care about their money because it's a fact that I think the rich are still very much affected by inflation.
Currently in my area a lot of people complain even from all walks of life not only the poor because they feel the difference in prices of some products, especially in terms of food and this is the result of rising prices caused by inflation.
Not a few of them are also rich people which makes me pretty sure that it's not only the little people who are having trouble now.

Everyone eventually does, including the government, which prints frequently because the papers they print are becoming worthless, but what is riches if not invested?

I'd want to use my own country as an example: A dollar's value on the parallel market at this time last year was around 480/$; now, it is worth around 730/$, a rise of 34.2%. The inflation rate as of September 2021, was 16.63%, and when compared to the inflation rate of September 2022 was 20.5%, an increase of 3.87%. In my country, if a rich person wanted to protect himself from inflation, they would be (34.2%-3.87%) 30.37% ahead of it, and he would effectively have nothing to lose.

I know $$ has been shitty in his home, fighting inflation too but there are other countries who depend on them as a reserve and thus, they always used it as an alternative to stay ahead of inflation and it was the same CBN that was supposed to be helping people fight inflation that is making same dollar scarce giving people to exploit(smart move) this as a deflationary tool.

2028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: October 11, 2022, 08:08:13 PM
It will be tough for AC Milan to win against Chelsea because they have to play with 10 players. A red card for AC Milan and Chelsea have scored a goal by penalty shot. It will be much more easier for Chelsea to score more goals in this match to win over AC Milan.
very disappointing red card had to be received by Tomori in the 18th minute and now Chelsea are 1-0 up in the 22nd minute. I agree with you that this match will be quite difficult for AC Milan because they have to be ready with 10 players so there is little hope that they will be able to beat Chelsea. Chelsea will be able to easily dominate the course of this match considering they are superior in number of players. and what I just saw Chelsea had managed to double the advantage in the 34th minute through Aubameyang. AC Milan is really difficult to develop the game in this match.

Tomori acted like a player who is not ready for this match, the way he held Mount is a deserving red card, now they have to deal and manage with Chelsea pressure especially when they have the same points in the table. A successful win in this match will catapult their points ahead of Salzburg been the top in their group.

Why do I feel that Real Madrid are not ready for today's match, I was having hope on them base on their pass performance seeing that they have not loss a match, it will be regrettable that they have bench Vinicius without good explanation when he should be hear doing a great wing for Benzema.
2029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest Mysteries Of Bitcoin on: October 11, 2022, 06:26:02 PM
One of the biggest mysteries in the technology world is the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto the computer programmer who invented the digital currency Bitcoin that's because Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudonym it may be the name of one person or the name of a group but for over 13 years now of bitcoins existence no one has figured out who or what Nakamoto is beyond solving a long-standing mystery what sort of impact would uncover that Komodos identity have to answer that question

2008 Satoshi Nakamoto published a nine-page white paper containing the first ever mention of Bitcoin calling it a peer-to-peer electronic cash system at this point bitcoin was just an idea on paper but in 2009 Nakamoto put the concepts to the test releasing the cryptocurrency's first software Nakamoto was active those first few years writing in forums sending emails and working with other developers and coders to improve the program that'll change in 2011 when Nakamoto  essentially vanished no more forum entries no more emails and in all that time nobody not even close collaborators ever met the founder in person but here's the thing whoever it is they didn't walk away empty-handed Nakamoto is estimated to have 1 million bitcoins.

You may not be aware of this, but nobody knows who Satoshi is and including the person who manages the forum I learnt. It's possible that someone does, but they don't want to share, but does it really matter whether we know who Satoshi is or the kind of colour person he is? Bitcoin is so decentralized that even if he decides to return today, he won't be able to do anything or claim to own it back, all he will be able to do is sell what he currently owns, which I doubt he will do for a profit when the price of bitcoin has reached $64k and never move a single sats, I doubt he will even do that in the next ten years.

You should be concerned about the guys who are benefiting from Satoshi's hard work, CZ is currently the richest person in the crypto space yet you didn't worry about him being worth $17.4 billion according to forbe that can do whatever they want rather than imaginary bitcoin that you know nothing about.
2030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk is one of the keys to be 100k$ per Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2022, 02:38:53 PM

-  Good day to all my friends here on this forum, based on what you can see in the picture the two @Dave Portnoy and @Elon Musk had a short conversation about their Bitcoin holdings. And Elon Musk did mention that there hasn't been any bitcoin for sale since he bought it. Is the question true that Musk mentioned that he posted on the Twitter platform?

I don't think this is a recent conversation you are supposed to bring back here to the forum. It is outdated information.

Quote
In addition to this, many of us in this industry community know that the price of bitcoin will increase by around 100k$ or more, there is just no certain day and year when it will happen. Also, we don't even know how many bitcoins Elon Musk holds, but he is one of the biggest holdings of bitcoins in the world today.

Do you think Elon Musk is one of those who will push the price of bitcoin up to reach 100k$ each when the bull run comes?

Your opinion is much appreciated Smiley

Source : https://cointelegraph.com/news/i-have-not-sold-any-of-my-bitcoin-elon-musk

You want my honest opinion, Elon musk doesn't deserve bitcoin and bitcoin doesnt need him either, he has just been trying to remain relevant as the company CEO and seeing him be an advocate for some part of bitcoin makes me like him but I don't want his too much influence on bitcoin. Let me tell you something when people invest because of someone's influence, they are quick to sell when uncertainty occurs but someone who does his or her research before making a move in any investment doesn't shake out when there is any bad news, the fundamentals they learned do keep their judgement intact and don't usually sell. Just look at the Bitcoin chart for a minute, with all the negativity, bitcoin has remained in that zone he bought most of his bitcoin($18k), this shows that most people who bought above those levels were influenced and all sold as soon as he sell the bitcoin entrusted on the company and pretends to be as a result of illiquidity.
We need Bitcoin growth to that $100,000 but if it will take 6 years to achieve it without the world's richest people toying with its movement, we will be happy to wait to see that happen anytime.
As for the link, here is the main link where they announced they sold most of their bitcoin. the one you posted is very outdated with the company findings.

2031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: October 10, 2022, 09:33:20 PM
Gambling is not a place to make money? Then what is it? A place to play games? Coz if you're looking to just play a game, then I believe you're in the wrong place. You could've gone to arcade spot.
Whether you like it or not, gambling always involves money and it is definitely a place to either lose or earn money by playing a game. It is actually a fun and enjoyable way to earn money, until you lose everything, that'll put you in misery real quick lol.

You see, perception is very important. People see gambling as a way to sort out their all financial problems and through that, many have lost the little they have gathered in just within a short period of time because of their greed, hence why people always say gambling is for fun, if you gamble and it turns out to be a jackpot, they do celebrate it, we all like money after all including the casinos who says gambling is for the fun of it.
Everyone in gambling is there to make money but the risk involved is probability, putting all hopes in an event shouldn't be term as money making literally, you can lose and can also make money but putting hopes on that is not a good idea.
2032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bangladesh has blocked 331 online casinos on: October 10, 2022, 09:04:33 PM
If they blocked 331 casino's, I wonder how many casinos are left in the country, plus with that kind of large number of casinos, it suggests how much of the population is immersed in gambling and how this their recent turn of events can affect the social life of people living in Bangladesh. It may not be a permanent block, maybe just a temporary one to observe if the situation involving money laundering that prompted them to block these casino improves and they have less money laundering cases.

From the looks of things, they are attempting to implement a total ban, which does not appear to be something they will lift anytime soon because they are working closely with social media platforms like Facebook, Youtube, and even the Play store. Things must have been in really bad shape for them to close down gambling in a country like Bangladesh, but I'm not sure if I'm the only one who thinks this step is so very bad for a gambling ban for the people.

If money laundering is the problem, they can do what other countries are doing to reduce the rate of money laundering through gambling by limiting the amount of money that can be deposited in gambling platforms. This could help rather than closing down something that could generate revenue for their governments.
2033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 10, 2022, 02:18:03 PM
Why is arsenal not considered as title contenders, they are doing great right now, but when you talk about them, we talk about how they would qualify for the champions League next season but not them winning the premier League, I think that's because of Manchester City, but what arsenal played against Liverpool you will now that they are not joking, they outplayed Liverpool from Start to finish, even when their goals are being equalise they still keep going and don't want to take draw for an answer.

The last time Arsenal made it to Champions League was the 2015/16 season and they didn't win Premier League, Leicester city did, now you see why people are talking about making it to the Champions League instead of the EPL. They have always ended up most often in the 5th place and now they are very desperate this time but the question is, will the consistency continues till the end of the season, their points difference between Manchester City, and Tottenham is too close and any slight mistake will make Manchester city to give them gap in points hunting in their matches, especially now they are using Haaland to scare other teams.
2034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Reputation on: October 09, 2022, 06:13:07 PM
Most company do a background check but all they do is just check the criminal records of a person and educational attainment.  Skill and knowledge is assessed via interview and exams.  I don't see any company checking the habit of a person.  They might ask it on the interview but they do not dig in after that.  After all most company depends on the performance of the person and not on how he spend his free time.

This is not so hard in developed countries but where databases don't exist, companies do find it hard to follow these measures that is why these days, they request for a guarantor before offering any job, the person has to be well known, well respected and have a reputation to protect.

I just think being an employer is a phase that is difficult for me, why go into my privacy because I gamble, I know its the company finances they are trying to protect but as long my resume or CV states my previous work and my past experiences, the company should be bold enough to trust me as a worker, the least I wouldn't find offensive is to call or ask where I have work before, they can ask if I compromise their money or not.

Live: ARSENAL 2 - 2 LIVERPOOL

Four goals have been created in the Arsenal vs Liverpool match until the 71th minute. Not as usual, Arsenal lost the ball possession. Gabriel Martinelli's quick goal in minute 1, had made Liverpool supporters panic that Arsenal would win with a large score. Darwin Nunez played by Jurgen Klopp managed to reply to 1-1 in the 34th minute.
The match is still running with a fierce tempo.

Arsenal has altered the score line by extending their win with 1 goal the score is now 3 goals to 2 goals and with the nature of the ball it seems that Liverpool will not be able to go home with one point in this match. Arsenal is ready and willing to steal all the three points from today's wonderful match.

Despite the referee's poor decision to extend the game by 8 minutes, Arsenal was able to neutralize all of the pressure Liverpool was putting on them, and I believe this will give Arsenal confidence that they were not favoured by anyone, a naturally inclined team that has been ordained by Micheal Arteta that their victory actually grows out of harmony.

I wish Saka was as powerful as Haaland, he will most likely get a shot to Balon Dior before any other players from other farm leagues, but no chances are lost if they can keep this up until the end of the season.

...............

If it works for you, that's great, but I will admit that this is one of the worst strategies I have seen in a very long time. I wanted to say it's because you're a beginner, but after looking at your duelbits dashboard, it appears that you've been using the site for a while. Nevertheless, I will say that your strategy appears to be a baby step and not a wise one because one day, with the way you are betting on odds, you will bomb your account balance.

You are expected to do more of the opposite of what you are doing, like why gamble on current events when you don't even watch them? Odds are dynamic and events change as the game progresses, so it is best to adjust your approach while it is still early, as some people have advised.
2037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Support Casino Operated By The Bitcointalk Members on: October 09, 2022, 04:39:52 PM
I'm sure by now you have read about a casino review site where the admins are trusted members of Bitcointalk, which  I believe is good for the community because they have a good roadmap and we all know their capability as gambling reviewers
but what if reputable members here decided to put their own casino will you support them and will this become a conflict of interest if they are already or have promoted casinos in the present or in the past, what's your take on this?
Maybe in the future, we'll have one.

By support, do you mean by marketing signature or going to the Casino to play? What is there for me to look at as a primary key is a reputation, if the member has a reputation to protect, I might give it a try but I will do that with caution because trying a new casino is like trying a new place with risk but on second thought, I don't think any member here would even do that because most of the ones here all have their account register as customer support or maybe as an Alt just avoid any past discussions argument affect their business. As long as the casino doesnt scam or don't cheat, I will give them a try.
2038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 09, 2022, 04:32:03 PM
Arsenal vs Liverpool, I predict for the favour of Arsenal to beat Liverpool 4-1 because Liverpool are still lacking in the area of strikers, which will not allow them to withstand mighty Arsenal in this game. If small teams can beat Liverpool with many goals in this season , show that Arsenal will not struggle to beat them with many goals in this game, because Arsenal strikers will definitely score goals that will bring victory at the end of the game.

To be honest, that will be difficult to achieve from what I analysed from the first half, Liverpool is attacking steadily, they are playing both attacking and defensive and that is exactly what  Arsenal is also playing but it seems Liverpool has found some vulnerability in some player like Gabriel, his mistake was so cheap and look like someone who is not ready to defend Emirate but nevertheless, I admire their courage to even score the first goal under a minute and another wonderful goal from Saka, Martinelli is everything in today's game both in great assist and a goal.
2039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 08, 2022, 04:43:42 PM
As previously predicted, Manchester City did not experience any difficulties against Southampton. City have managed to get three goals in this match through Cancelo, Foden and Mahrez. Of the three goals that City have obtained, there is no Haaland name on the list of goalscorers, it looks like Manchester City will increase their advantage in the remaining time of the match. Haaland certainly doesn't want to miss this party, he will try to increase his number of goals against Southampton.

And City have made it 4:0 and as you predicted Haaland has registered his name in the goal-scoring list. I think City will get more goals because it doesn't look like Southampton has what it takes to prevent City from scoring more goals in the game, with 20 minutes left in the game, I think City will get more goals and Haaland may get a brace too.
Good performance for the citizens they keep their place as the league leaders.

It has become a ritual for Haaland to score in every game, and not only that, no other player comes close, even Kane, one of the older players, is only halfway there with 7 just goals. I find it hard to believe that someone who came from underappreciated Dortmund would go into ghost mode in one of the most watched and interested leagues.

Although Manchester City has always been in good form, no player in that team has done what he is doing so far, despite being a tapper with an assist, he is the only player in that team to have 15 goals in just 7 matches, and with the league still not over, perhaps more is on the way from that colossal beast.
2040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why 95% online Gambling websites are Scam? on: October 08, 2022, 04:10:02 PM
Hi guys I know That it silly thing because gambling is a thing in which only casino wins
.and a user will always loose it's money. And gambling makes people poor and drain everything from money to joy. And that sucks.
In 2017 I was introduced by Bitsler.com
This website took me at least 2000 dollars a that time. There was a time when I have at least 3 ETHER at the rate of dollars. And I regret that day when I lost everything. And that took my life from me. And that was the was the day I never entered this type of scams ever. And I know people will say that we become greedy. But system is designed I n such way that it took people money and everything that we had. And I know it just that hard.

NOTE: My point is that in online gambling they can can easily loose others people money 🤣 I have seen that everyone is Roasting me with same text and also Roasting me. There is saying that " Casino always wins "
They do this by cheating or by Gang. Looks like you all are gamblers and might have lost a lot of money and than blaming me.

You are ignorant and probably, you were scammed by the gambling websites you have visited. I have checked your profile and you never make any complaint about any gambling websites we have in this forum, if at all they are the reputable ones here, you will have made an accusation thread of you being scammed and another victim that has been exploited but you didn't.

Gambling is a probability, you don't know the outcome, but that doesn't mean your chances of winning will always be abused.
