Jackg, you're awesome and I appreciate your efforts but I'm afraid thats not just where I was thriving at though but, that not withstanding,I have also learnt something. ☺️
I read a little about HD wallets and I'm satisfied with your contributions Cheesy

What a strange coincidence, I just bumped/updated a 3 year old post of mine with information about mini private keys, and then I find  thread started 7 hours earlier.
Oh really a coincidence? That's to make it logical that some members haven't seen solutions to their problems which were posted already, several decades ago  Cheesy

A "00" at start? That'd be 1 in 16^2.
When calculating the SHA256,is `00' not the first value to achieve if it is formulated correctly or I'm I wrong?
Since random numbers are picked, (which automatically brings in probability) what the prob that a number is picked at random and it produces an `00'.?
Why I'm asking? I wanna know how in random a number can be picked and tossed and how many times it can brute-Force before giving a valid mini privkeys.

I don't understand what you mean here.
That prolly was about the development of addresses...
Priv and public keys were usually created out of bitcoin addresses right? I'm seeing a different thing during my study sessions: K-K-A which simply means that the whole thing starts from the elliptic curve multiplication and ends with a hashing function. is that hard to understand?
2024  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Has anyone really tested bitcrack during brute Forcing?! on: August 06, 2022, 01:48:29 PM
Hey community Embarrassed
I'm very ill,not for some petty sentiments for real;dunno if feminism has anything to do with that😔  ..anyways that's on the contrary.
I teach people too so don't blame me if I'm a little skeptical..
Priv keys are the gateway to unlock or transact Sats; I have also seen some peeps wearing avatars with 'NOT YOUR KEYS,NOT YOUR COIN' indited on it.

The standard privkey is a 256bit: 0x01 and 0xFFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFE BAAE DCE6 AF48 A03B BFD2 5E8C D036 4140 .. it runs on its range of secp256k1 ECDSA right?
Now I have learnt that in order to make mistakes, WIF(wallet import format) could help the whole stress,of which it runs on base58Check. well thats not the point, just had to detail out atleast someone could get the fact that I understand maybe a little..
Mini privkeys
I wanted to understand how it's calculated and I was told that when the there's a product,if the very first byte results to `00', it's well calculated.
Question:
+Since the SHA256 hash is calculated just by the selection process of random numbers, which forms a polynomial and prolly an interger, what's the probability of getting an `00' just by choosing at random?
+ Why is the generation of priv and public keys from bitcoin address archaic but the elliptic curve multiplication and the hash function can rather be used symmetrically? Which looks like the best way for a derivatives
ECDSA ; this should be my next topic
I'm not really sound though 🥺
Thanks for response and infact, I really need alot of opinions cus I need to learn ahead.

Wow, kids are taught about Bitcoin at school these days? What a time to be alive! Keep it up Sandra.
Yeah I added these voluntarily though; other staffs aren't interested except one, he has a vast knowledge and I sometimes go to him for help but he isn't a part of this community, I wonder why?!

So yes, there are DNS seeds for initial configuration, but as jackg mentioned they are not needed for further operation, since Bitcoin Core will discover other nodes quickly.

Okay, that's clear.
Since I'm tutoring grown ups too infact,I'm into some technical analysis and they're gonna ask silly questions,so I need proper understanding..

+ If Bitcoin Core discovers new DNS seeds and the search limit is just 11 secs, what if it doesn't get any node at that point since the time is limited?
+ Is distance a factor to consider during DNS search?
+Bitcoinj doesn't need DNS seeds, I get this now; but it's only automated to work with some specific address which mean some nodes are left out in the process?

Thanks for kind replies 😳

2027  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / I couldn't escape this P2P network enigma on: July 28, 2022, 11:27:57 PM
Hey there, I'm confused and stressed at the same time Huh
I don't really know why HODLing Bitcoin is simple, but the technical part of it becomes a 'hard nut to crack'; this is prolly the same thing achow said yesterday or maybe I have a lighter brain?
I'm currently tutoring kids in school since I took it upon myself to add BTC to thier scheme (though I took some prior permissions from the school mgn team )also running adolescents on BITCOIN THEORY...I made that exclusively for close doors lectures anyways 🙂

I have understood that nodes are sub-divided into full nodes, archival and pruned nodes and they all work dependently on each other, alright? Now based on the fact that the whole network ensures utmost security and freedom which is one of the main reasons why Bitcoin is in existence; here is it
+ I have learnt that in running a P2P tnx, since it's impossible to know the IP address to any active fullnode, you'll need to hardcode DNS seeds into a fullnode and an SPV client right??
   questions
The whole problem is; since it's possible for a  random node on default to be connected to the network, why are fullnodes not just made on standby so other subsidiary nodes could connect on thier diverse command?
+ I have also read that other nodes(unspecified) can be added to the developed DNS seed only if they're running on a default port for mainnet and testnet; if a subsidiary node which is not of this default port (and cannot creat a DNS seed on its own)wants to connect, can it?
Confusing right? Well, thanks to anyone who can help!

2029  Economy / Speculation / Re: Effect of Tesla bitcoin sale not significant on: July 21, 2022, 11:10:59 PM
I do not know why the news are bringing this up, no significant effect at all.

You're kidding right?  Their sale set off the liquidations of Celsius, Three Arrows Capital, Luna, along with several other major players.  Even the mention that Tesla sold 75% of their holdings caused a further 136 million dollars in liquidations.  Tesla actually performed God's work here, making sure that when prices do rise, it isn't the degenerate gamblers with tons of leverage that get rich, it's the people that stayed the course and stacked sats in their own wallets.  That's why people are talking about it.  It was a big deal.

+1

Tesla gave the death blow to many bad actors in the crypto space.
Also it's strange they needed the cash and sold the dip, which is a poor business decision.
I believe there might be a bigger strategy at play here...
Yeah, but I don't think they probably needed the cash because they went bankrupt; IMO, I think that fat-ass Mr Tesla was only afraid of loosing everything as he usually panics, I mean why would anyone sell in a DIP? He's lost alot and the fear to loss gives way to more losses..maybe,when the WHALES gets to sink in alot and bitcoin bids for the top chart, he's just gonna realise that wasn't smart

Well, nice try, and merited for the effort but just like the rainbow chart, this is just something that can't predict or tell a thing.

Absolutely,I think it can't.Personally, predictions are almost impossible because the volatility of the market is so high that it doesn't even take days to fall as usual; an upward movement is imperative but it's not guaranteed for now. Alot of investors have pulled out thier cash at a loss and alot more are also investing, IMO, I think it's gonna take a little time before going up the chart.
Whales are on thier feet and of course, they have a resounding influence on the market.

It's been a while here  Cheesy
I'm not really good at this but I have heard elders speak so many times, some which I can't even recall Roll Eyes
My entry:

* proverb:chick wey go grow turn better fowl, elders dey Sabi right from the day mother hen hatch am
Meaning: You can easily foresee the future of something or someone through the character with which they portray today and be certain which one turns out to be a 'bad egg' .
* proverb:na only mumu dey dip two leg for river to Sabi in depth
Meaning: you don't just go into making decisions or doing something without thinking of its repercussions.
* proverb:man wey dey pay loyalty give people wey get mouth pass am dey pave way for him own time to come
Meaning: respect is reciprocal and what goes around comes around; what anyone sows is what he reaps.
* proverb:person wey no know one thing fit still know another thing
Meaning: no one knows everything but everyone knows something that the other does not.
* proverb:no abuse the forest wey shelter you, come dey call am jungle simply because e no dey spacious
Meaning: don't neglect or insult who's taking your responsibilities as his priorities simply because he isn't presentable as your dumb brain thinks ; always be proud of them no matter what.

2035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption In El Salvador Seems To Be Failing on: July 11, 2022, 04:55:02 PM
El-salvador was only too expectant; 60% of them are HODLing Bitcoin According to the report and Bukele, since he misinterpreted the process and believed it'd solve sole economic problem, introduced bitcoin as a legal tender. I don't know but I'm not seeing these as a proper line of action, why? Bitcoin isn't compatible to serve an Individual as fiat does; imagine being paid in btc and before some verification processes was done, the value had reduced by half, how do you cope? Its volatility doesn't support fringe investment, yeah so I'd rather see bitcoin as a store of value to avoid unnecessary questioning and some kyc shit from the local bank.

I'd say this; alot of people count stupidity for bravery and that serves them right after being roobed off thier cash, what the heck!
There's no authentic airdrop currently, that's as much as I know; I spoke on pm to mocacino about this and he affirmed. I even wanted to try some faucets since I was badly In need of cash but nothing worked smoothly; it was either very slow or impossible, this was immediately after the pandemic.
Those dudes on telegram go phishing on several coin sites just to avail a good audience, then try to convince you with fake proof of payment, pictures and videos if necessary. This tasks are performed with different account operated by one person, that's the trick! Beware!

2039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Famous bitcoin critics stopped for non-compliance with FIAT on: July 09, 2022, 11:02:34 PM
I have always observed that overtime, anything good is subject to adoption; this is applicable to everycase and there are no exceptions...
Earlier today I had this information on Twitter and some fringe on the web; this is about the famous bitcoin critics, Peter Schiff who has formerly discriminated bitcoin and made assumptions to his own discretion about  bitcoin being a failure, has officially confessed that he would rather prefer to sell his bank for bitcoin if that could help his customers.
https://ibb.co/cXgRKpZ

https://ibb.co/8DwqQWS

I was surprised when I learnt that he also advised that anyone who is banking is afraid of bankrupt, inflation or probably collapsing entirely but in bitcoin, only the market value deteriorates. Schiff,a prominent American financial analyst took Euro's Pacific bank as his store of value, not until he was stopped for not complying to the net minimum requirements in Puerto Rico; with these, several customers accounts were freezed. This compromise almost led to the liquidation of the whole funds, for the mere alleged fact of money laundering and tax evasion.
That is when crypto enthusiasts, recalled the economists of his statements that cryptocurrencies are scam and traditional finance.Nayib bukele, current president of El-salvador gave some useful advise which became a kinda mockery after the reprisal. I will always keep saying this;  nobody will adopt what he/she doesn't comprehend, that's impossible especially when it comes to stock in value. I believe investors that have changed thier perception today is based on what they have heard, learnt, seen and done practically about bitcoin; I'm happy,a great deal because El-salvador has started off something great, who knows if it will be United States next.

2040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The State of Cryptocurrency Report on: July 08, 2022, 11:20:04 AM
At the moment, Bitcoin doesn't suit everyone due to the volatility. The volatility does mean it's especially attractive to speculative investors though.

Hey Welsh, I've got some questions for you on the previous thread, that's just by the way.
I'm a big fan of Satoshi's brainbaby, yeah but there's something everyone is confused about.
Does this fact make bitcoin ideal to replace FIAT as it's claimed?
If it doesn't then is that supposed to mean that companies (if they choose to) should rather assume btc as a legal tender and not a store of wealth? How's that even possible?
You're just gonna realise that there's alot more to do,if not, then bitcoin wasn't made for everyone and the goal isn't be coming a legal tender.
N/B This is inwardly my ideology,do well to make yours known with already proven facts if the are to the contrary.
