2021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: September 21, 2016, 06:43:59 PM
Griezmann said that he wants to be at the same level of Messi and Cristiano, he is a young and very motivated guy that wants to be a legend, I think they can win and with this player Atletico will have serious opportunities to be a contender for all the major cups.
2022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any thoughts on the Golem ICO? on: September 21, 2016, 06:17:50 PM
So anyone can tell me more about this? From what I've researched the idea is great, but im not sure if it will work. There is an ICO going on, I think it's a phase 2 ICO.

Anyone owns some tokens?
2023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: September 21, 2016, 04:37:19 PM
Litecoin will always ahve the special aura of being the original altcoin. That right there is a selling point that can never be taken away from it, which is why I think it will always have some value, it will never be dead (dead = 0 dollars). There will always be people trading it.
2024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is sick again on: September 21, 2016, 04:20:27 PM
ETH has some serious problems in terms of constant treat of the network itself getting exploited (you never know when turing completeness) then there are all of the smart contracts like DAO that might force a hard fork again...

and at the same time you have the banking industry pumping it with news too.. hard decision.
2025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing my $2,000,000 Into bitcoin (advice me) on: September 21, 2016, 04:07:42 PM
A big nope for bitcoin mining setup. I am afraid you are too late to setup a mining farm from scratch. Not profitable with that less amount.
Just invest in something more real. just fund some good business startup which would have a better rate of return and faster break even.

It's not a big nope by default... if you can find profit then it's never too late. Im sure in china, a 2 million mining cave would be profitable, of course, in US or Europe, have fun trying to pay the electricity bills.
2026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin less evil than PayPal? on: September 21, 2016, 03:46:53 PM
Paypal rips off people constantly with the ridiculous fees for no reason. To the contrary, Bitcoin is a decentralized network and the fees are going directly for the people that sustain it, there are no secrets in terms of where the fees are going to.
2027  Other / Archival / Re: Decentralized, but very slow adoption OR centralized, but mass adoption happened on: September 21, 2016, 03:37:34 PM
Obviously we must choose decentralized and slow adoption. What use does Bitcoin have if the network becomes centralized? This is why we must keep supporting Core. They are conservative, the progress is rather slow but it is solid and well thought, no improvisation and keeping the network decentralized is the priority.

lol delaying freedom of choice with words like year development and year grace period.. is not cautious security.. but delay/avoidance tactic to then push through their own rules that doesnt even need 6000 nodes to upgrade/consent to, and activated in under a year

analogy:
"we dont want to get into a car to go to the shop, so we think it will take 2 days to walk it and avoid car crashes.. but we want to invent a motorbike with an invisible side-car and will get to the shops in one day"

core is centralized. (even you admit they are a powerful team)
core is centralized. (a dozen paid coders and 90+ spell checkers doesnt make them decentralized)

much like UK parliament where 650 MP's live in different towns but make decisions together, is not decentralized
much like US government where senators live in different towns but make decisions together, is not decentralized
but core has become the prime minister/president that can sway the debate in their direction, veto and disregard.

in short..
if your are defending the power a group has about the rules.. its not decentralized.
every group should be on the same level in regards to the consensus

as for the social preference of which implementation. then that is not about the rules, but about the function, speed, errors, GUI interface and openness of each team. (total different argument to the consensus mechanism)

You are overcompensating things. People choose to run the Core software, this means they like the developer team and how they get things done.
Everyone is free to try to improve the software, but of course it needs to go under revision by experts, as you have been told, if we let every idiot out there push their code into the project it would be a disaster, specially when there are tons of trolls trying to ruin Bitcoin out there.
2028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How greedy you are ? on: September 19, 2016, 03:58:20 PM
Im very greedy when it comes to stacked wins. If I keep stacking wins and multiplying my wins I just can't stop and I keep going forever, to the point that I reach a x30 times the initial investment and somehow I keep going until I lose it all.
2029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading vs Gambling on: September 19, 2016, 03:23:27 PM
The strategies of gambling can be applied on trading and the other way around At the end of the day you are going to need to become really good at managing loses and managing your feelings when facing a loss. Retiring early can be a victory.
2030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Gambling music on: September 19, 2016, 03:14:01 PM
When you are on the mood to take some stupid high risks in gambles and you are filled with adrenaline waiting for the outcome that may make you rich or may make you broke, what is your favorite music to play? I like to play some motorhead, this is a great gambling song:

2031  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Doubling Bitcoin? on: September 19, 2016, 03:03:23 PM
Im pretty sure that some of the decent altcoins are going to at least double in price in the next 12 months. Namely, XMR, ETH, ETC, MAID... all of those coins could easily experience a x2.

Of course the random alt could go x1000 but who knows.
2032  Other / Off-topic / Re: What will you do if you own 21 BTC? on: September 19, 2016, 02:27:40 PM
I would buy myself a car. Smiley

Don't you think getting money over the time is a better thing then buying something right away? YOu can buy a car later on as well when you earn more with what you have but you wont get what you will spend for buying a car.

Its his money so he can do anything that he wants, we cannot force anyone to hold them for future, if he is comfortable and satisfied in spending them then without thinking twice he should go for it.

A car is a liability, it will keep demanding more and more money for it to maintain and meanwhile it keeps losing value, unless you buy an appreciating car in other words a classic, but that will mean that you can't barely use it to keep it at a good condition.

Cars in general are a waste of time and unless you are wealthy or just need it to work, I would stay away from them. Definitely not worth losing 21 BTC for a damn car when 21 BTC will make you rich in a decade.
2033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think bankers will destroy block chain tech, decentralization, bitcoin? on: September 19, 2016, 02:18:38 PM
XT and Classic are indeed bankster moves against Bitcoin, anyone with some insight on the tech and on the community knows that.

This is how they will try to to take control of Bitcoin. They will try to centralize the nodes which is what would cause massive damage in the network. Once you can't run a node the decentralization of the network is simply not possible.
2034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to win gambling with no lose? on: September 16, 2016, 06:50:25 PM
You have to have clear that you are going to lose, there's no way around it. So just try to to have fun and know when to stop.

Like Lemmy said: "gambling is for fools, and you know im going to lose, but that's the way I like baby I don't want to live forever!"

2035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: September 16, 2016, 06:27:09 PM
The part of gambling as a rich person is you make money by gambling. You can turn yourself into a famous person easily if you are rich, so once you reach fame (now thanks to the internet is easier) you can charge to make public appearances in casinos and stuff and you get paid, so you can gamble forever.
2036  Economy / Economics / Re: USD vs BTC on: September 16, 2016, 06:10:40 PM
They often say that the dollar is backed by "oil and nuclear warheads", but that is useless in the modern world. A nuclear warhead will ruin the entire planet now since other countries own those too and it would end in a total disaster. The oil will disappear eventually. Therefore the dollar is fucked and bitcoin is better.
2037  Economy / Speculation / Re: I will not Die Untill Bitcoin will reach at Least 50K on: September 16, 2016, 05:59:15 PM
According to calculations made with the available data from world's debt, stocks and other assets like gold, we only need 1% of that in Bitcoin and we already are at 50k, and once that happens, another 1% is easily achievable due inertia, which means 100k is around the corner. Hold long term and reap the benefits of being a pioneer.
2038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: remember "Death Spiral" and "Miners Quitting" before halving! on: September 16, 2016, 05:52:33 PM
All those stupid ass FUDsters got proven wrong again, they always do. Bitcoin cannot die, it's immortal, miners will never leave because guess what, that just means the difficulty goes down and some other people find out an opportunity to make money if they leave. It's a self regulating system that just cannot fail. We will conquer the world and the universe.
2039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When do you began using Bitcoin? on: September 16, 2016, 05:43:16 PM
I started getting into bitcoin at around 2013, when I first heard about it. I started getting my first very own satoshis on faucets. Then I discovered signature campaings and have successfully promoted numerous brands since then, and made a bit more. But most of the BTC I have I have bought.
I didn't start using like 2 years after that so 2015.
2040  Other / Off-topic / Re: What will you do if you own 21 BTC? on: September 16, 2016, 05:34:24 PM
If I own 21 btc I would invest something. For sure I would put half of that into my wallet as an investment into bitcoin. Then 5 bitcoin towards casino bankrolls and 6 bitcoin towards trading.
I think splitting money is always better than pouring it all into one source which might dry up.

The plan is quite brilliant. for if we use the funds in the amount of it for things that are not beneficial, then I assure you we will just enjoy the fun while and after that we'll regret all the things we do. Do the best for now and for the future, so we can smile at that now and we are also grateful for our hard work bearing fruit that is very wonderful

The idea is to hold long term, of course 21 BTC is not retirement worthy now, but it will be in the next decade. Bitcoin will blow up in levels our brains can't fathom since aren't wired to believe in impossible things.

21 will be elite status in a decade, it's just how it is.
