2021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Awareness: Bitcoin logos on T-Shirts on: May 13, 2023, 04:01:42 PM
I would just be careful with some sayings on the T-shirts, like "hold Bitcoin, retire early" or "mine your own Bitcoin", because this can be spotted as misleading propaganda. We have to be careful to not give false expectations to other people, as we can't guarantee they are going to retire early if they invest in BTC, since the cryptocurrency is highly volatile on both directions. Moreover, most adopters aren't going to mine their own BTCs, because it's an expensive activity which demands high investment and appropriate infrastructure.

Anyway, it's great to see Bitcoin is being promoted even inside countries where it's still frowned up by authorities.
2022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2023 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: May 13, 2023, 02:30:13 PM
I think it's too early to say something concrete yet. In my opinion currently results aren't likely to remain stable along the competition. It's really odd to see Botafogo on the top position, winning all the matches, as it is odd as well to see Flamengo beneath, losing more than winning.

The important here is to notice the consistency of each club. Botafogo is an example of team which sometimes show a lot of gas on its performance for a while, but isn't able to keep the rhythm during the whole championship, being overcome later. I say that because Botafogo is my team and that is what I've been observing about them since a long ago...
2023  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price gets to $60k this year? on: May 12, 2023, 09:53:46 PM
No one can say if when that resistance @ $30K will be break and I see your point it's important to see the market to pump strong if that $60K will be reach this year, as far as we see the market still having difficulty breaking $30K and there are times that it keep bouncing down and the fear with new investors are affected as they can quickly sell and lose portions of their investments. Hard to predict, but if you believe so then better to keep buying portion by portion, as if the market pump back then the benefits is decent.
Due to the currently difficults, everything indicates Bitcoin isn't going to cross the 60,000$ line this year yet. It's a long way to go with low fuel left. The market has to warm first and that is not the kind of thing which happens instantly. We need positive news like the decreasement of interest rates in US and Europe, BTC halving event and other secondary ongoings which can be highlighted on global news, like the rising of BTC adoption or the approval of friendly regulations towards it in different countries.
2024  Economy / Economics / Re: Concers About Going in Business with a Friend on: May 12, 2023, 05:55:14 PM
but still it is more trusted having a business partner that is your friend because you know him well but then that again the bad side on it which will make you blind on something because you trust your partner well but as long as you dont give your 100% trust on him and also check everything and get to hands on the business for sure you'll know if he is trusted or not. Right now if you arent cautious you'll be cheated so to prevent it make sure that you have an eyes everywhere
To start a business with a friend as partnet is a risky deal. You have to trust that person a lot, because there are many variables which can happen on the middle of the way that will impact your business negatively due to your friend: he may lose motivation, deciding to stop working and dumping all the responsabilities and debt on you, he may not fulfill your expectations regards his work on the business, he may start creating disputes with you due to the belief he isn't being fairly valued...

That is why entrepreneurs avoid partners, and stick to employees only. This way they have total autonomy over the people who work with them.
2025  Other / Meta / Re: Imgur images suddenly became invalid? on: May 12, 2023, 04:34:06 PM
The changes are going to take effect this Month on the 15th. That's just 3 days away, so I believe they started blocking proxies?
So that leaves just 3 days to download all broken images, or lose them forever.
Wow, I was taken by surprise this time. Thankfully I have been checking my threads today and noticed all the images have disappeared within 3 days left to recover everything important (at least the main images). If I didn't, I would have lost track of all my data regards Freebitco.in - FUN Token Investment Experiment. Almost one year of informations on the garbage.

Sadly many secondary images on other posts will be lost forever... But I can't go on each of them recovering the images manually. Sad
2026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend's investment in Bitcoin on: May 12, 2023, 03:32:07 PM
I tell him Bitcoin has been around for 14 years. I give him more idea about Bitcoin. At one point he expressed his interest in investing in bitcoin, I told him that there is a possibility of not only profit but also loss from investment. To invest you have to take risk. My friend invests in bitcoin knowing profit loss. He works for a salary of about $400 per month. He invested about $500 in Bitcoins. I didn't show my friend interest in investing in bitcoin. He himself knowingly invested in bitcoin.
Did I give my friend the right advice?
By your report I think you did the right thing. You explained about the risks of losing money when investing in BTC, due to the volatility of the market, right? And aware about the risks, your friend still wished to invest in Bitcoin, so he made his own decision, and from that moment on, all the responsability was on his shoulders. You were simply a source of information and knowledge for him, even if in a very basic proportion.

Now he has to seek for more knowledge by himself on his own. That is the natural course of the journey of every Bitcoin adopters. We are firstly introduced by someone, but as soon as the introduction is over, we have to walk by ourselves. Mistakes are part of the process, and in case your friend commit any, you shouldn't feel guilty about that, if you gave him the right advice!
2027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another betting fraud in Brazil - part 2 on: May 12, 2023, 02:25:22 PM
When players or teams are weaker ones or they don't recognize any ethics - they prefer this route. They fix match results. They sometimes determine outcome of many things like scoring 2 goals at the start of game etc. I feel very sad about Brazilian football watchers and fans. When there are huge allegations about this kind of match fixing scandal, I directly lose my energy, motivation. It makes you feel like watching football is nothing important.
But the thing is they should practice integrity, whether they are famous or not they should learn that, that is what team should learn along the road. Games will be non sense and no thrill at all if most of team fixing their matches. It happens twice I think Brazil football federation or any Organization related to this should take an action and they should implement the law more efficiently.
They should, but since they aren't forced to, unfortunatelly their free will points to the shady way of earning easy money by deceiving and betraying the audience, the fans, the sport and their own profession. They show no love, passion or care for the sport they are playing and put money above everything in the world, as their final goal.

I think from now on, athletes will have to pass an 'ethics test' or 'psychological test' before being recruited by teams and leagues, so their personality can be analyzed by professionals beforehand in order to prevent future issues.
2028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Politicians behind the development of gambling platform on: May 12, 2023, 02:37:10 AM
But it doesn't stop that, they can point someone say from family to manage that gambling business instead of them to by pass the law as easy as that
Also, as long as e-sabong or any gambling is considered as a legal business, and no lawmakers amend that law nothing will happened.
That is a common practice by politicians to "cheat" the law and the expected moral behavior by the society. Most sophisticated schemes don't even involve a family member, but a partner, maybe a lobbyist, who works as middleman on the process which will eventually benefit the politician after all. By the law, there are no flaws, although informally we know exactly how the scheme works... As you said, nothing will happen! Tongue
2029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: sending bank statement for verification on: May 11, 2023, 05:02:18 PM
i registered at an online casino and my deposit was not arrived and i contact to their support and they said you need to wait for 10 business days for your refund.

10days are completed and i still didn't received my refund, and they told that "if you don't receive your refund in 10 days then you can contact us with your bank statement"

my question is, is it safe to share bank account statement for verification purposes?  the site is reputable, but in bank statement all my information are available. is it safe to share?
Bank statement won't expose your private keys but keep in mind filtering the information you will be sending. Also, it is for me fishy in a way that I haven't experienced gambling sites asking for my bank statement rather than transaction history
But if you think that the site is reputable enough, then it could be worthy of compliance. Bank statement only includes previous transactions as well as balance but if there is other way to get your refund then that would be better ofcourse.
I agree with you. It's a simple procedure which doesn't expose sensitive informations such as passwords. Probably they will see his name, account number, banking agency and bank name, within his history of transactions to prove the refund didn't arrive there.

The most important thing here is what casino he is talking about. If it's a reputable platform I would send all the requested data, but if it's a sketchy site I would think twice, because we never know what thieves can do with the informations we provide to them...
2030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: May 11, 2023, 03:24:53 PM
The issue is: how can you introduce new people to Bitcoin and promote it without telling them you are a Bitcoin investor? If you close yourself inside a shelter of anonimity, you won't share experiences with other people around you. You limit yourself a lot by not absorbing what they have to teach you, and by not teaching them what you know.

I think there is no issue to tell others you are a Bitcoin enthusiast, and to share ideas with them about this subject. The only thing which isn't advised to do is to tell them how much money you have invested and to never boast an ostensible way of life on your social medias (what is also valid for people who aren't Bitcoin investors). Being discreet, but not lonely or introspective is a more healthy alternative...
2031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another betting fraud in Brazil - part 2 on: May 11, 2023, 02:58:06 PM
That should be expect to happen in Brazil, where corruption is recognized as one of the main traits of the nation, besides the fact sportsbooks are insanely popular right now. If you watch any games on the television you will have an impression the championship is fully sponsored by bet houses, because there are so many of them everywhere! They are on the TV's propagandas, players' uniforms, field's ads, press conference's ads...

There are popular local celebrities and athletes promoting sportsbooks as well. It was just a matter of time until some wicked players started being recruited by scam schemes involving frauds on sports matches. Since they are greedy for money, and for some reason can't improve performance on the field, they appeal to cheatery and illegality. That is the final result: an industry you can't trust anymore...
2032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: May 10, 2023, 06:24:58 PM
There blame game is nothing out of the ordinary, I mean a thief will always have a reason as to why he become a thief, and if he or she does not blame his actions on this parents, a family member or relative, he will blame it on the government, the economy and the bad situation of his or her country..

But the most important thing here remains the fact that who ever is to blame will not stop the law from taking its full course and justice served as it is rightly deserved.
I see this as an attempt of 'escaping from reality' by the individual, in order to not face the consequences for his own acts. It's like he was creating a parallel reality where he has no faults for the bad things which happen on his life, so he doesn't feel bad with his conscience and life becomes more bearable... However, it's just an illusion. Only truth releases, and to face the consequences for our acts, which often involve to feel the pain for that, is a must towards the cure or total remission of the symptoms. On this matter, the self-control in gambling.
2033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How's your gambling experience right now? on: May 10, 2023, 05:53:50 PM
In the meantime, I've chosen not to gamble for now, although there is an option to use altcoins to continue gambling, but that doesn't seem like a wise move to me. Also, with the drop in altcoin prices right now, it means I have to use more and more, so that will reduce the amount I have.
Well, you can still gamble with altcoins using the same amount of fiat you were using before. The difference is that now you will acquire more coins with the same amount of fiat you were used to use before. The bright side is that when you receive your weekly payment from signature campaign, you will receive more coins, so it compensates the extra coins you have to use for now from your currently portfolio, if that is the case.

And if you are worried about the market's volatility during these days, you can exchange your altcoins back to fiat, as soon as your gambling's session ends on the same day.
2034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer Original Slots or slots from 3rd party Slot providers? on: May 10, 2023, 04:51:09 PM
It's good to play both slots categories to try new games and what the house has to offer originally, but in my opinion the most popular ones are from the third party providers, without any doubts, because those games are more sophisticated and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. It's not a secret titles like Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza are very popular on the internet when we talk about slots-machines.

Original games tend to be more popular among dice, crash and mines fans.
2035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Confident Are you With Altcoin In This Time on: May 10, 2023, 03:15:39 PM
It's how the game of shitcoin works. If you are fast enough and know what you are doing, You can gain massive profits from it but if you are just a newbie trying to ride it by investing and hoping to rise, Your chance of getting a profit is less than 50% I believe since there are different factors. No matter how you tell people to stop investing on shitcoins, We can't just stop them because there are regular traders who are living their daily lives in investing and trading these shitcoins. It's just few days back where memecoins showed a large price bump. Everyone gets into it and makes massive wins but today, We can see that those memecoins go down and I believe late investors where wiped.
That is why investors who are looking for solid alternatives of cryptocurrencies to invest should give more attention to the main altcoins of the market, instead of trying to hit a hidden gem hoping it's going to reward them x100 or x1000 in a single investment. The most conservative altcoin is still Ethereum, and there also the stablecoins alternatives plus Binance Coin, in case the investor doesn't get annoyed by the fact their investment will be on the hands of a single exchange's performance...

On the final positions of top 10 there are Solana, XRP, Cardano and Polygon, although I'm not sure if they are able to maintain position or if they are going to be replaced on the following years, because crypto market is really volatile. Personally, I think the most conservative strategy is the best one.

I think even investing in cryptocurrencies, even the big altcoins, still comes with risks and requires careful use of strong math. Yes. Conservative investment strategies may suit some investors, while others may be more comfortable taking on higher risks in search of higher potential returns. I think the main factor is new capital, compiling an investment strategy, but what you mentioned is also a useful reference for the community.
It's true there is a considerable risk even when investing on solid altcoins, like ETH. In case that is a concern of the investor, the advice is that he sticks his investment to Bitcoin currency exclusively, since it's the most trustful and reputable cryptocurrency among all, which is ranking on top 1 since the beginning of the industry without any predictions of lefting it anytime on the next years and maybe decade...

New capital, as you mentioned, is always a good strategy, what can be executed through the DCA method. Still, you need to predetermine which coins or tokens you are going to acquire.

2037  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Delay your Bitcoin transaction for this week| Volunteer campaign on: May 09, 2023, 11:24:35 PM
Well, that is what I'm going to do, even though I need to sell some BTC for daily expenses. But I think I can hold on for now, so my money lasts longer and I don't have to sell my coins for now. Besides the fact fees are too expensive, we also have to keep in mind Bitcoin is cheap after the recent crash due to the fees, which dropped BTC from almost 30,000$ to 27,500$ right now. It seems interesting to wait the price to go upside again for profit maximization.
2038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can NFTs last forever? on: May 09, 2023, 06:13:51 PM
Take a printscreen of the images and record the videos somehow, lol! Cheesy

As we can see, these NFTs' categories don't even have a reason to exist... And I fear the ones which have a practical usage will always depend on a centralized platform where they can be used to exist. Like a NFT which is a virtual game's item. You need the game platform to use your item (which is a centralized one). But if someday that game is gone, your NFT will be gone as well, since you won't be able to use it anymore in other games.

Maybe if we were talking about a decentralized, open sourced game things could work slight better... But this concept still needs improvement from the industry.
2039  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: May 09, 2023, 05:28:05 PM
Most people don't know how to start investing in gold, so it's not a very popular investment category. Most people prefer to simply deposit their money at the bank and earn interest on their saving accounts inferior to the inflation rates of their countries. That is a consequence of lack of financial knowledge among the average citizens.

However, thankfully we have Bitcoin investment nowadays, which is accessible to everyone, at the reach of their fingers on any mobile device connected to the internet. That is the most versatile and democratic investment you can make right now with any sum of money thinking on long term returns. I believe Bitcoin has come to give an opportunity for those who don't know how to invest in gold, and therefore couldn't fight inflation without Bitcoin on their lives.
2040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's problems are visible as never before on: May 09, 2023, 05:06:25 PM
Where some see an issue, others see an opportunity. Bitcoin works in a free market system where autonomous miners can take advantage of the currently expensive fees of the network to put their machines to work. If I had the required equipments and structure, I would be already profiting by confirming transactions on the blockchain and earning a pretty decent reward for that. Anyway, of course others are thinking the same and will put this idea in practice, so you can expect fees to go down soon.
