I don't understand what you're saying. Please guide more detailed.

You need to explain more about what you are doing.
2022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: June 20, 2016, 09:55:20 PM
Could someone plz tell me what   - C   does... I looked in the readme file and its not there.  Thx.

CPU MINING--

The "-C" command line flag enables the "CPU Mining" boost in sp_ 's branch of ccminer.  It makes a big difference in hash rate for some algos, as the cpu is  assisting the gpu in processing the data.  I remember chatting at you about it before.  As far as I know, sp_ 's branch is the only one that uses this fllag.

It increased my Quark hash rate about 500kh/s to 11.5MH/s with my GTX 960.       --scryptr

That's with an unoptimized CPU miner. If you want to co-mine with the CPU you could try cpuminer-opt.
It does quark at 1.2 MH/s on a i7-6700K. But I prefer to mine more CPU friendly algos.
2023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer 1.7.6-r6 Fork With Faster Lyra2RE and Lyra2REv2 on: June 20, 2016, 03:59:21 PM
wasn't this already released, what's the point of this? it was released by nicehash a few days ago

at first thought this was even faster, but it's not the case
no, it is not the same.

i see the same hashrate mentioned on cryptoblog, what are the differences then if this is not the same?

Maybe a little patience is in order. The recent improvements to Lyra2 & Lyra2v2 are a welcome surprise as the prospects for
continued support of Cuda optimizations was not looking good.

These improvements were sponsored by Mona, which uses the lyra2v2 algo, I am hoping some of the talent can also be applied
to other algos if there is community support.

This is the best news I've seen in a long time and the timing couldn't be better with the release of Pascal, Cuda 8 & SM 6.1.
2024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]: cpuminer-opt v3.3.6, optimized X11evo, hmq1725 & HOdl on: June 20, 2016, 02:10:31 PM
Thank you for the detailed information. It appears you are using QEMU. I have not tested cpuminer-opt with QEMU.

The CPU features listed do not include AES or AVX but does include SSE2. What is your actual physical CPU?

I suspect one of two problems:

1. Your CPU has these features but QEMU does not emulate them. If this is the case you can get a proper AES compile
natively (without emulation) or with a different form of emulation such as a VM or mingw.

2. Your CPU does not have these features but the compiler running under QEMU is unable to  detect the missing features.
In this case your CPU is limited to SSE2 and you will have to specify "-march=core2" to specifically tell the compiler not
to attempt to compile the AES optimized code in cpuminer-opt.

Edit: It appears QEMU does not support AES:

2026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I Mine any Altcoin On my Laptop on: June 18, 2016, 03:52:11 AM
I suggest you buy a Desktop PC if you want to mine and make sure you buy a good GPU/CPU. You will burn your laptop before making any money and just get in a lost. You can burn Desktop PC's GPU but it's much rarer, but still possible if you mine too much without lefting the PC to rest.

This is the best advice. You "can" mine with a laptop using the cpu or maybe the gpu if you have one installed on your laptop,
but it is not advised. Mining produces a lot of heat continuously and laptops are not designed for it. Get a desktop with a decent
power supply and gpu and mine with that. If you also want to mine with a cpu you can get an i7 but a top end cpu is not
required for gpu mining. Make sure you have good air flow and monitor the temperatures.

I have found a problem with the capabilities reporting for lyra2RE  and lyra2REv2 algos.

They are being reported an not AES optimized when in fact the AES build will crash on a non-AES CPU.
This will only occur if using the precompiled AES enabled binaries from Cryptomining Blog. If compiled
natively on the same CPU there should be no problem.

Users with older CPUs that see a crash mining lyra2 or lyra2v2 should use the SSE2 build.

The only impact of this bug is the crash is unexpected and using the SSE2 build will result in a slighly lower preformance.

The next release of cpuminer-opt will report lyra2 and lyra2v2 as AES optimized and the performance chart will be
updated accordingly. The fix will not be rushed out because it does not prevent the crash.

I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in the arrogance being displayed. Twice in the past few days I've raised
the issue of TD management and not even an acknowledgement.

I'm aware of this problem. It's on the issues list and has been long before you raised it. It's not my top priority. If it is your top priority, it is an open source project. I'll happily merge any fixes you make or sponsor. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until someone who is contributing to make it a priority.

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately I'm not a GUI programmer otherwise I would have done it already. Seems simple
enough for someone who knows what the're doing. It's essentially what every file manager already does, click on the
column header to change the sort key.

A TD export feature might be something I can do, I'll look into it.

lyra2re (v1) is dead).

Not dead yet, have you taken a look at Nicehash lately? I have no clue what coin still uses lyra2RE
but it's been paying well on Nicehash for a few months,

It peaked at 1.59 BTC/GH/Day (0.53 normalized for nvidia) a couple of hours ago and even higher on CPU.

we are talking about lyra2v2 not normal lyra, v2 iscurrently at 0.17, there is no way that this value went to 1.59, would have meant making 0.03 a day for each 970, crazy as fuck...

Try again.

Sorry it was such a dumb question, and I did do research. I found MacMiner but it works as well as your answer.  I was hoping someone could come up with a good answer. Unfortunately you have filled  to come up with an answer, good enough for me the troll. Go smoke a pound of weed and then come back with a answer.  And if that don't work go chew a couple cans of CW.

That is too funny. If you did such great research you know that macminer is OpenCL, not Cuda. I already gave you
the answer but you're too clueless to realize it.

BTW I prefer hash over weed.

I think the next steps for HODL is improving the website, and implementing Bitocracy so the HOdlers may have their say on the future of the coin.

I vote for improving the management of TDs in the wallet. I even tried cut/paste into a spreadsheet but it
won't let me even do that. TDs are the distinguishing feature of HOdl, that's where your focus should be.

I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in the arrogance being displayed. Twice in the past few days I've raised
the issue of TD management and not even an acknowledgement.

Now the post above which translated means "We're going to whatever we want but we're going to make a web site so
users think they have a say."

There also appears to be an organised propaganda campaign. Whenever someone says anything negative about HOdl
users come out of nowhere to shoot them down.

Too many red flags popping up. I'm begining to think I've made a mistake believing in this coin.
2033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do you mine with NVIDIA GeForce 9400 on a iMac pleas help! on: June 15, 2016, 08:54:31 PM
Does anyone know?

A little impatient aren't you Jr? Only waiting a half hour to follow up on your own post.
Do you expect people to be waiting just for you to pose a question so they can race to
be first to reply to it?

To be honest your question looks like a troll. Pick an ancient GPU that likely predates cuda, a requirement to
mine, and the OS least likely to support mining and see if you can get anyone to take the question seriously.

You obviously didn't do any research before posting, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and answer.

It can't be done.

PS. the sarcasm is the price you pay for me answering a stupid question.
2034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: June 15, 2016, 05:23:04 PM
Pascal avaiability is also an issue. I bought a 980 off the shelf the day of release, same store won't get 1070s
until July 1, and that's only for preorders.
2035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: June 15, 2016, 04:14:25 PM
I'm not sure I will do the pascal sp-mod. I think I will move to AMD and 512bit bus. 1070/1080 is not attractive when it comes to price/vs hashrate.

unless you are talking about new amd, current amd line up can not compete on any algo minus etheruem with 1070, not to mention that the 1070 can be improved further and reach a nice 2x hashrate on any algo comapred to 970, eth excluded,

but who care eth is not the only profitable coin...

Current Pascal price/performance seems to be inline with Maxwell for most algos so there's not much incentive
to upgrade yet.

I would assume the CD company would have a sufficient stock of HODL to be able to use those coins in the HODLing deposit transaction, so I would think that the coins given to them (btc or whatever) would not be converted into HODL but rather simply held in their current form and the interest earned HODLing would be sold to make up the necessary addition to the BTC deposit.  I don't think that's what you mean though in which case I don't understand.

It occurs to me that there would have to be some kind of fiat contingency insurance offered so that if someone deposits shitecoins in a HODL cd and the currency no longer exists when the CD matures the depositer doesn't lose everything. The value (at least the interest) would be returned in USD (or perhaps offered in HODL) etc.

And the CD company gets to benefit from any downturns  (or upturns depending on which currency you are talking about) in the market given that they know exactly how much interest will be earned.  So if someone locks in at $700 BTC, and they are owed 50BTM in interest, the CD company can buy that 50btm at any point during the CD term when BTC drops below $700, or they can sell HODL if the exchange rate goes above where it was locked in, in order to get the necessary BTC in interest to pay the CD holder.  And they profit either way.

No contingency, it's part of the risk just like real bonds. Remember junk bonds?

Bond sellers can do whatever they want with the funds, the bond is just a promise to pay it back on a certain date
and with a specified interest, again just like real bonds.

One hinderence will be regulation and investor protection from fraud. One of the goals of crypto is to remain unregulated.
At the moment that is working because the market is still small. Our feds have already studied crypto and came to the
conclusion it isn't big enough to be concerned about, yet. But at some point, as crypto continues to grow, it will.

Quote from: joblo
And who knows what other innovations are coming? In a year there may be crypto bonds offered by third parties so you can
get interest on your BTC or other coins. Who knows? Certainly not me.

Since the concept of interest and locked up funds is new for crypto there is no history from which to extrapolate.
It's all just a gamble.

That's actually a hell of an idea.  Use HODL for the bonds.  Since HODL already has the structure in place for interest, why not offer bonds, or perhaps better would be CD's so they are not held indefinitely, held in HODL coins for other cryptocurrencies?  So you give a third party company 1btc (or 1LTC, or ETH, or whatever).  They subtract a small fee, HODL enough hodl coins to cover the current cost of BTC/HODL for a time period specified by you, and it earns it's interest.  When the time period is up, the third party company gives you back your BTC plus interest.  Now, any individual could do that on their own on an exchange by simply buying and selling hodl coins, but here's the twist.  The company locks in the exchange rate for (in this case) Hodl/BTC at the time the bond is purchased.  So if you buy a bond while BTC is at 1btm per hodl and the hodl price jumps to 1BTC per hodl by the time you turn in your CD, your BTC plus interest is still returned to you at the 1btm exchange level.  You pay the company a fee to ensure price stability for your investment.

Yes, it could to the other way and hodl price could drop or BTC could rise and you would 'lose' on the deal, but that's the gamble you take to get a stable interest rate on your cryptocurrency.  thoughts?

No need to convert, the bonds could be held in BTC or whatever other coin the seller chooses.
Bonds could also be tradeable like real bonds. Tradeable HOdl TDs might be a possibility if it is
possible to transact them, but I don't think it is.

PS. I corrected the quotes.

we still have 27MH on the 1070, even with the best drivers, without that fix for the trashing you will not be able to reach 40MH

http://cryptomining-blog.com/

Windows 7 is getting 1 MHASH.

Windows 10 is getting 5 MHASH.

With the fix you get same speed as on linux.

Around 24MHASH for the 1080 and 27MHASH for the 1070

wasn't the 1070 already at 27MH on windows 10 and linux only?

and 24MH is still bad for a card that cost so much

what about another algos ?  what results

Yeah trading volume really isn't a concern I'm not sure if you noticed but there is a decimal.. Bitcoin will only ever have 21 million coins and will  take many years to get to that total.. With looking at 21 million and world population and world funds traded daily.. Limited supply would be looked at way more negatively.. But well it's not.. That's Bc limited trade volume increases price.. Also which has been pointed out there are constant deposits in the neighborhood of 60k or more that are due to open more and more frequently from this point on..

To the other point about large supply driving down price.. By the way I think it's strange that you look at large supply as lowering the price but limited supply not as raised price.. Anyway the best part of HOdlcoin it attracts investors with their big boy pants on.. Meaning ppl who are not investing the rent money and who can handle the commitment of a 1 year investment.. These are the same ppl that can deal with a huge TD opening and if the buy volume isn't there or the price isn't right they will simply relock that huge TD and get ~200% interest which is what it will be around then..

Just for clarification, it's the large increase in supply over a short time caused by maturing TDs that will drive down the price.
What they do with the matured coins depends on how HOdl performs from now till then. A common strategy would be to
dump half and reinvest the other half. Any deviation from a planned strategy would depend more on the future prospects
for the coin at that time based on past performance and trends.

Limited supply is not always viewed negatively. It creates scarcity which has an upward bias on price which increases the
market cap and the value of the trading volume.

Any new coin trying to get listed is affected by a smaller market cap, meaning lower trade volume. When 2 thirds of a new
coins market cap is tied up and not available for trading it has a bigger effect.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is a negative for HOdl in the long term, only that the unusually slow growth in tradeable
coins, and the resulting lower trade volume, can be expected to delay being invited to the big board. It's a matter of time, not if.

The big unsanswerable question is what ppl will do when the time comes. If they roll over their maturing TDs then scarcity
will continue and trade volume will remain stable and so should the price. If they dump the extra sell volume will drive down the price.

But you're right it's not for the timid.
