2021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: January 04, 2023, 01:45:25 AM
Game was in the 1st quarter when tragedy struck Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills to the point the game had to be abandoned.
Good thing the NFL postponed it for good because initially there were tweets saying that the NFL wanted to continue the game. I can't imagine having to play after watching someone nearly lose their life.

Also no TNF this week but we'll have a bunch of Saturday games though, eyeing the over on the Raiders vs Chiefs game.
2022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a lone Sports Bettor or a Team Sports Bettor? on: January 04, 2023, 01:01:33 AM
Which of these categories do you belong to and why?
I do a bit of both as there would be times that the league that I bet on would go on a break and then I would go on to look at what others plan to bet on for the day but I prefer to make my own pick from scratch so i'd say i'm more of a lone bettor. Sometimes I feel bad for the good bettors trying to help though because whenever they go on a bad run there would be toxic people that discourage them to post.
2023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 04, 2023, 12:31:10 AM
The odds continue to shift to the side of the Celtics now that SGA is confirmed out of the lineup for the side of OKC and tbh I even liked their spread a bit more regardless of the blowout loss they had against the Sixers.

The Celtics will probably win here but i'll try a small bet on OKC+13.5 @1.69 bought all the points I can get on Stake and hope they perform much better and keep the game a bit close.
2024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Factors that contribute to form addictive gambling. on: January 04, 2023, 12:01:07 AM
What other factors do you know contribute to form addictive gambling?
I'm not sure if this counts as I haven't experienced this between physical casinos but i'd say loans, I remember reading an article that was posted here and it only happened because of a loan that the gambling shop offered to their player. The leveling systems that most online casinos have is also a factor IMO since they mainly came from most video games and there could be a possibility that gamblers would prefer to grind those levels instead of playing regularly given how rewarding they can be.

Lone game for tomorrow then we don't have any matches for about a week until January 8th:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/american-football/usa/nfl/cincinnati-bengals-v-buffalo-bills-63a25d5f8a9f5592b57e7af5

This one is a another tough one to decide so might as well just go for the O/U on points.
I agree, both teams are at the top of the standings and the Bengals are only one game behind the Bills.

Only putting a small bet on the under 50.5 only because it's a tight matchup, even though both teams can score i'll rely on the Bills to control the pace since they've been decent on the road for the most part, maintaining the totals below 50.
2027  Economy / Gambling / Re: What sort of Weekly & Monthly Bonuses do Bitcointalk members want? on: January 02, 2023, 12:08:26 AM
Haven't been on a site where their bonus are based on your activity. What I mean is how often you deposit and it doesn't matter if you use that for playing or not. The times where you chat in their troll box, make post on their forum, participate in their contest, etc. That would be more cool to see.

This means that players who aren't really a heavy gambler, will still have the chance to get a decent bonus. All they have to do is to be more active and interact more in the site or to the other players. Unfortunately, most that I came across are based on wagering and this is where I left behind lol. To the fact that I mostly play for profit and I think wagering is just a waste of money since the house will always win the longer you spin.
Stake and Sportsbet do it constantly but only during their live streams though, they give out codes and free bets for those who watch their streams.

I agree that it's cool but there are always people who abuse the rewards so they usually have to put limits and wagering requirements. Also, they have to gain profit and the best way to do that is to have wagering requirements.

So Detroit for me seem to be the secure choice as well. With Chicago being dismal in their performance as a football squad.

Haven't picked for the later games but New York Jets seem also to be a good team to bet for the ML.
Both of our tickets should cash as the Jags and Lions are already up by a lot and they just need to close it out.  Cheesy

I'm less confident about the Jets game though as I think their defense must step up for them to win and I still can't forget how their defense looked flat and couldn't stop the Jags in their last game.

With that said, i'll take the over 47.5 on the Packers/Vikings game and expect both sides to put up points.
2029  Economy / Gambling / Re: What sort of Weekly & Monthly Bonuses do Bitcointalk members want? on: January 01, 2023, 08:17:47 PM
If i'm going to be a regular i'd also prefer both bonuses to be based on the recent wagers or activity, so that the every type of player would still have something to claim if they suddenly have an unlucky session. That would be a good start to bring back the bonuses, and then potentially tweak the calculation later on.

But it's a shame that the bonus is only given to account ranks 40 and above and the higher the rank, the more bonuses you get.
Maybe this is one of the strategies for casino site managers to be able to entice users to play games or gamble in large numbers to catch up on rankings and be able to get weekly or monthly bonuses.
I agree the weekly and monthly should be attainable for most of the players but if it's only for the top players it'd be better for them to have a wagering competition instead.
2030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: January 01, 2023, 02:26:00 PM
A lot of home favorites this week, i'll go with a small play on the Jags and Lions both ML for a total odds of 2.21. The Jags should continue to roll with their explosive offense and the Texans haven't won a game at home.

The Lions also need a win and I think they'll likely get it against the Bears since they took down a much tougher team like the Vikings in their last home game. I'm avoiding the spread since they always like to give up points and their last meeting ended up with a 30-31 scoreline.

For the later games, i'm leaning on the Jets as I think they'll be more desperate to break their streak and the over in GB as both of these teams have a solid offense but don't have the best defense.
2031  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 25-Dec-22] on: January 01, 2023, 03:35:48 AM
Weekly Update(link)

Removed Crypton from the table.
Added Coinballer and Satoshi Auction under PNYC.
Moved HunnyPlay from OFNP to CFNP and updated their pay rates.
The issue between Metaspins seems to be solved now though so they'll remain on the table.

The first update of the year and happy new year to everyone.  Cheesy
2032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: January 01, 2023, 12:38:03 AM
It was pretty sick for City to not win the game against Everton. I was pretty happy when Haaland scored those goal then Crystal palace scored as well which only left us with Newcastle but then somehow only Crystal Palace ended up winning their game lol
I was also surprised by that as I had a bunch of parlays lined up for Man City and Newcastle thinking they'll somehow get a late goal but I guess not.  Tongue

At the very least Arsenal saved me from having a bad day and I even got a free bet while tuning in to the clubhouse tv stream.  Cheesy
2033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 01, 2023, 12:01:10 AM
I like some of the road favs but i'm staying away after getting burned by the Clippers, I feel like most teams will win but they'll have trouble covering the spread.

That said, I'll ride with the Bulls +4.5 luckily I got this line before the odds shifted, now they're the favs. I also went for the Spurs+9.5, the Mavs will probably win but their winning margins on the road games have been below double digits and the Spurs are decent at home.

Edit: Another 2-0 win with both teams losing by one.  Cheesy
2034  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: December 31, 2022, 06:47:14 PM
Chips.gg reduced their minimum withdrawal amount from BTC.0005 to BTC.0002 but the fees remain the same.

Cloudbet also reduced their withdrawal fees by a lot, right now they're only charging BTC.000032 but i'm not sure if it's fixed or dynamic though.
2035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 31, 2022, 03:29:21 PM
I missed that special bet but it is looking good so far with Crystal Palace already going up 1-0 and both Newcastle and City should easily secure their win at home.

On the bright side, there's still another special up and it's for the Arsenal game.

https://sportsbet.io/sharebetslip/0cf2a875-f934-49f0-8993-b8c444ebee5e (Arsenal to win and Both teams to have o2.5 SOTs @3.10)

^Good picks @ralle14, you won it both.  Wink Pelicans played amazingly with CJ McCollum shooting 11 3-pointers, I don't know if that's a new record for him but I think it is.
Not perfect but still profits.
How about the Golden State Warriors though, one of the underdogs that won this day from losing their big lead in the 1st quarter and coming back to the fourth, and there's Los Angeles Lakers defeating the Atlanta Hawks. Fun night.
You too, nice way to end the last day of the year with a bit of profit. Grin

The Warriors' 4th quarter performance has been impressive in these last few home games, at the end of the third quarter the bet started looking a bit hopeless when the Blazers tried to pull away with the lead but the Warriors are just relentless.

I didn't watch the Lakers game but a lot of prop bettors are probably eating well after that 47pt performance from Lebron.  Cheesy
2037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling For Fun - What Does This Mean To You? on: December 31, 2022, 02:25:47 AM
So over to you now, what does gambling for fun mean to you as a gambler,? As I know that this phrase might mean different things for different people, would like to know what your understanding is on this.
Your meaning of fun is almost the same as mine, i'd still look forward to making profits but it's not the main reason why I continue doing it, if I could put it in another way it's like playing at an arcade but instead of getting tickets, you win actual money. The socializing part made it even more fun for me as I slowly familiarize myself with the community and other people that are also interested in doing the same activity. Eventually, it becomes a regular thing and the experience is very similar to hanging out with your friends even though you barely know those people.
2038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 31, 2022, 12:55:11 AM
so Golden State Warriors is my pick
I like the Warriors @2.00 as well and on top of that, they now have Klay ready to go while the Blazers are looking much weaker on the road and recently they lost to OKC twice in a row.

I also grabbed the Pelicans +1.5, it feels like a trap line when the Sixers continue to lose games on the road but I'll give the Pelicans another shot now that they're the slight underdog this time.
2039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cashless Gambling, your thought? on: December 30, 2022, 11:42:54 PM
then how about gamblers who use crypto and crypto generated from their work on the internet, I don't think the government will track it about that unless that person cashes out his crypto into an account that belongs to him, it can be tracked, I also don't like this way but if it's for good for example paying taxes is no problem
I was also going to mention the use of crypto but it probably doesn't matter since gamblers still have to cash it out in the end and report their winnings. It's most likely for the better but it can still be an inconvenience for some gamblers since there are others who prefer to use a specific payment option. On the plus side, this change could be helpful to a few since they did mention that they want to reduce gambling harm as well.
