2021  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 184 blocks solved! on: June 25, 2016, 07:06:42 PM
It's not impossible for small miners to find a block - we see it time and time again in solo.ckpool and also in kano pool.

My first solo block was only 18TH (4 x S7) -- pure luck that was.

THAT what i need to hear in the morning. Citronick, you're a motivation guru to me now))))

Getting a CK post about a SOLO block found and it says your BTC address and congrats from everyone .... wow what a feeling!

I wish some Juvia luck to bring me some 25 BTC soon!
speak of the devil:   i just saw the ckpool alert that you are the lucky guy.....   I thought you were pointed at ck solo.... Block 417949!

Curious:  Anyone on the pool running an S9 yet?

I am wondering if it would have any issues generating shares given the recent issues people have been having....   Since I am a buyer once the price is right... This is definitely relevant!
2023  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 10x S9 all showing very slow at the pool on: June 25, 2016, 10:21:57 AM
its probably because of "BMminer" instead of CGminer, I'm unable to mine alt-coins with my s9 nor can i rent it out.
getting only hw errors

You realize S9 only mines bitcoins (and other few SHA256 coins)? When you say alt-coins, I assume you mean Scrypt and other protocol alt-coins.

No, hes speaking of the plethora of other SHA256 based altcoins....

I'm having a strange problem... I'm connecting to the SHA256 pool (stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:3333#xnsub), and it will randomly show as Dead. It just happened occasionally until today, and now it's happening all the time. Zpool is in the 0 slot, but the antminer will roll to one of the other pools, even if Zpool shows as alive.  Not sure how to troubleshoot it. Any thoughts?

Please take the time to read this thread.  It has been answered many times over and is an issue still being addressed.

Set a failover and wait for more news.

Any tips for Top 3 Algos this week?

1. neoscrypt
2. X11evo
3. NIST5

There were some crazy spikes in XRE coin reward share/value I got today.   My boxes did stay on that algo for a bit as well...
but my script has been switching me between a lot of the algos.. and with great frequency......

Id have to say x11evo, skein, x14, x17  in that order for my GTX980.  Can't comment on neoscrypt cause the reject bar graph is scaled wrong.   If someone knows where that graph is in the yaamp code, ill probably be able to figure out where the decimal really goes.... but I think its supposed to be a percentage of current hashrate, not the whole number its showing.

I'm about to put online a dual GTX275 for giggles.  My friend brought me some kinda older PC's and 2 had the same card... so I figured... why not see what they can do for fun =)  I wonder if it will hash more than a single GTX560.   Was pretty cool;  got two watercooled i7 machines, and one core 2 quad file server machine to build some miners out of.   Recently there have been some good deals on GTX 960's...

Hi, i really like this pool.. i am wondering about Shares - my shares% is much higher than the Earning percentage. Is there a reason why?

Please read my several previous posts and the whole thread.... It will fill in a lot of the gaps and answer those questions.

In short, ignore it for now.
2027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: █▓▒░-< [ZPOOL.CA][BTC Multipool] The miners multipool >-░▒▓█ Paid out 600+ BTC on: June 21, 2016, 09:51:16 PM
Last 24 hour balance graph not working properly Crackfoo.

Odd bugs happen when changes are being made to the pool.

As long as the miners are still online and their graphs reflect your readings, you should be fine.

It doesn't make sense for the server to re-tally each and everyone's wallet data each time its loaded, instead it seems like its held in a container fo 24 hours so if any errors were there, they will be there until it gets to be too old and is overwritten.

Id say for any issues related to this, or graphs like the total payout graph are not advancing like they normally do;  Give it at least 12-24 hours before considering it an issue;  cause crackfoo makes lots of updates to the pool;  and these minor nuisances are common to updating a live and current running system such as this.
2028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: █▓▒░-< [ZPOOL.CA][BTC Multipool] The miners multipool >-░▒▓█ Paid out 600+ BTC on: June 21, 2016, 03:03:41 PM
I see you've been doing some poolside changes...

Lots of SHA256 coins offline...

Saw an odd pay spike and retraction earlier.... Got some ~49,000% share on a few blocks, and it was pretty hilarious to that see in my wallet page.... cause nothing ended adding up, but it showed on the graph =)

I'm curious at how the pool calculates rental pricing... Intuition makes me think it should always set rental price to a small % above a payout average delta that's roughly around or under an hour previous to the rental....

I'm just worried in the future that it could be less profitable, but more importantly I just have a need to understand the details Wink

Noob question here. What's the correct way to calculate the factors to normalise profitability?? Not very sure if it's simply a hashing power relation with scrypt.

Thanks

Please read this thread, and check the main page on the site for this link: http://zpool.ca/site/multialgo

PEople have generally been doing it based on the hashrate of the algo.  so if in MH, do a whole number of the megahash output.

also check the batch file link in my sig to see mine.  I dont relate mine to scrypt... I just use actual real world ratios.

~110Th!   Nice win!

I'm curious as to how long were you running at that speed to find your block there =)
2031  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 18, 2016, 03:06:24 AM
Was the 1st thing I tried. No go. zilch.
In cryptoGlance, when I 1st enter the edit rig info page it says it can't find it. That may be part of the lack of detailed information. But - it actually does and lets you set alarm points and save them.
My guess is the extra fields that the API returns in the request is messing with it.  BEcause it now has two temps per board... not to mention other changes they may have done.  The S7 stayed in the same amount of "cells" so thats probably why it worked for the S7.
2032  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 18, 2016, 01:39:38 AM
the s9 does not work with M's Miner Monitor either. Worse is that the author ceased dev on it late last year. 2x Sad

Did you try setting it to S5 settings?  This worked for my S7... Only issue is I just can't see the 3rd board's ASIC X/O status.....
2033  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 17, 2016, 01:56:38 AM
Did someone say drowning puppies?

Oh, wait. Never mind. Carry on.

For some reason I had that video of the rat breathing oxygenated fluid run through my head just now...

But honestly, I am considering doing this to the S7; but I don't mind it when the fan speed is 30% and hashrate is 3.5Th avg....

But for the newer louder hotness they just released, and seeing board AND chip temps; I think a submerged cooled unit would be awesome.  I could pipe it far away and outside easily to a radiator and sump tank.  Just need pumps good enough.

Nothing a decent pump and a nice trip to HomeCheepo can't handle.

I don't want the noise with any more miners.  The S7 is like an S3 that's fans are running full tilt...  And that's all I'm willing to deal with anymore.

BTW:  I live in a "confined space" with my miners.  One of them is taken in and managed by me at home for a friend for a split of profit.   A friend and I almost have our business model down for setting up small farms at locations with very very very little rent that happens to include free power to the tune of a 60A 240v supply line for each space rented.....   Oah man... If only they knew what we have planned!!!
2034  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 17, 2016, 01:43:55 AM
Is anyone here brave enough to do submerged liquid cooling on one of these puppies?

It would lower the maintenance and noise concerns for most peeps...

I know it's an involved thing but considering how well a mineral oil cooler works with a PC, it's work asking if anyone is considering this route.... Because if I get an S9 or something that is similar to the S7 etc; I'd rather take the leap to have it oil/liquid cooled as soon as the warranty is up.

I remember trying using the commands to force P state... and each time i tried it my PC crashed just as if I has tried to overclock the mem or gpu too much....

If I get the urge, ill give it another shot....

But honestly, even in P2, my hashrates as seen on my normalization aren't that bad....   I would have to uncork the intensity settings I have set.
Yes that's right you just jarred my memory :-) ... really I have to give it a try again ...but like you said... the intensity settings may have to be changed...I think.
FYI intensity wont modify p state... in case you are thinking that...

but I have intensity backed off so my machine will still play videos/games while mining.
2036  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin continuous rising? on: June 16, 2016, 08:53:36 PM
The majority of the people are only using Bitcoin as an investment tool to make profit. I think that will change when their local stores are accepting Bitcoin as form of payment. It's great that you can buy things online, but what people want is to walk into a store and buy their daily needs and pay with Bitcoin. It's that easy. As long as that doesn't happen, a lot people will just stick to using Bitcoin as an investment tool.

Correct, but even people with BTC and the ability to spend it have been choosing fiat over BTC for TX's....   Case in point the last few times I sold stuff on CL... people said they didn't want to part with their BTC.

I spend my btc sparsely, but I do spend it.   Then again, I do hoard a certain amount as well.
2037  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin continuous rising? on: June 16, 2016, 08:21:45 PM
Its for sure stay rising without any doubts because it has a very good future a head this year and due to this it will stay rising.
The halving is also coming so it will rise for sure more.
yes, it is rising for a while already though i think it is going to stop pretty soon because people will just decide not to buy it any more because they will sell in order to make profit

i think bitcoin might start rising after being steady once again though anything can happen to it, i hope that we will reach a new all time high before the beginning of next year

Most new adopters are using it for an investment only...

They are staying with FIAT for everyday transactions still... but they are seeing the value in holding BTC VS sitting the cash in bonds, a bank or the market.

JaredKaragen  I noticed on github you where updating the pool and getting things related to the pool and seeing cards at there pstate.
Question is ... is there a way to get the high end nvidia cards like the 980ti  970 gtx  to " permanently " stay in the p0 state no matter what...like a crash or reboot or just idling?  Thx

Ps I know how to set the cards to the p0 state so I can overclock the memory ... but to keep them there.  Undecided
I don't understand why nvidia did this..the 750ti stays there.

The best I can do is get it to sit in the P2 state....

I use NvidiaInspector.exe (common available tool via a google search) to view the P states, and I use NVPManagerUni-1.01 for changing the power state profile.

I think the custom BIOS in my ASUS card may not allow P0 state in anything but "desktop rendering" mode...  because that's the ONLY place I can get it to be in P0.  The second I launch any app that uses the CUDA library, it automatically drops into P2;  no matter what choices I try to apply in the NV-profile-manager.

Sometimes my card will wig out (usually after a driver crash recovery, or viewing a flash video) and only want to sit in P5 or P8;  whcih cuts my hashrate into 1/3 or less than normal.

If you find a solution I am all ears...

I still havent tried linux;  because I depend on special software (unrelated) that's windows native compatible only;  so I need it to remain a windows box.

Thanks, I did see that on the website but wasn't sure if I then need to specify a VRC address instead of a BTC address, even though it says that wallet address must be a valid BTC address...

Yes, that does add a touch of confusion..... The address should be in the coin you are specifying payout in Wink
