2021  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [551GH] ABCPool PPS - Proxy Pool For High & Steady Mining Rewards on: June 14, 2012, 05:36:03 PM
Does ABC support donation less that 1%?

The scale shows 0-100% and if I try to do a value less that 1% then it changes it to 1%.   If that is the minimum, you should just update the page and state that clearly.  Please advise

Deepbit is experiencing problems.  Hashrate is down 2/3rds and the website is intermittent.   My workers keep giving error messages that support.     Any official update to what the situation is?

So the guy is caught on record committing perjury, stalked and murdered a child, and even if he was innocent of everything is too dumb to not make himself look guilty as fuck (he is), and you still want to give him money?

You sir, are a saint who will receive the highest reward in Aryan Heaven

You know he is mixed right?  That is all.   I am too far from the facts to have an opinion.
2024  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is this a configuration (driver) good setup for running a (5) 5830 miner? on: June 13, 2012, 09:53:01 PM

I believe the best combination for 5830s is 11.12 with SDK 2.5.

Try using these settings in CGMiner instead:

Quote
--gpu-vddc 0.953 --gpu-engine 600-900 --gpu-memclock 300 --gpu-fan 25-75 --auto-fan --auto-gpu -v 2 -w 256 -I 8

If those settings still don't work, try bumping up the voltages by .01 at a time, or lowering the clock by 10MHz at a time. It's been a while since I mined on a 5830, so I'm not exactly sure what the exact Volts and core MHz settings were. Each card is different, too, so you could go higher, or you might have to go lower.

It is freezing before I can even open CG.  I thought Catalyst 11.X.X and higher came with the SDK in the package?

It's freezing after you set the voltages in AB, but before you can open CGMiner?

Yes.

cmg5461 - Good point, I only have 4 cards now because I need to figure out how to mount the 5th.  But now I need to install 64bit it seems.
2025  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 10xSapphire Radeon Xtreme HD 5850 on: June 13, 2012, 09:49:31 PM
I don't see this as being unfair. The deal was for 50BTC, which is what was paid. I've been on the end of buying BTC back when it was 5.2 a couple months ago and then dropped down to 4.8 before I even received the goods, but that's one of the risks we take. In the future, if you want to pay a certain amount of USD for goods, it's probably just best to use USD or agree to an amount of BTC indexed to an exchange at a specific time.

This. I just bought a single from BFL 10 days ago when the price was 5.2. Now that it's ~5.9 should I ask them for a 15BTC refund? I mean they havn't shipped it yet...

I don't think it would be unreasonable to ask for this being they see the same data as you.  Its up to them to accept, but this would be a valid request and I would not be offended if someone asked me this, especially that they have not shipped.

BTC is in a upward trend.     Because we don't have long term historic records on price movements, it in my opinion is silly to call someone "shady" for asking for corrections and clarifications on prices for goods.

What you are seeing here are real and classic hedging risks because people want BTC and only use USD to figure out the relative value is for each transaction.  I think it is beautiful that people are learning how to operate in these complex yet simple environments.

Both of you should just make up.   I know because many of us are strangers and there are some scammers, we are quick to jump the gun, but we all need to just be a little more flexible so we can get deals done and realize that things are changing rapidly so don't be offended when people want to negotiate a little more.

I has to reinstall the OS on this box so here is what I have:

Win7 (32 bit)
Catalyst 11.11
AB 2.2.1
CGMiner

Problem:  After I get to the desktop and its running for 1min, it hard freezes.   I am thinking it is a the video driver.   Is 11.11 what I should be using for a 5-5830 GPU setup?    Also, to undervolt, so  I still edit the config file in AB and use "UnofficialOverclock =2" setting, then open the app, downclock the memory, close app and then delete all the profiles with "VEN"?

This is what I did up to the point it started freezing.

Much appreciated,

2029  Economy / Securities / [GBLSE] Pre-IPO Announcement on: June 12, 2012, 06:52:12 PM
BCT Community,

I wanted to post it here first to let you know we will be doing an IPO on the GBLSE with verification.   Our approach is simple and we will be offering BTC denominated dividends on a consistent and predictable basis.   The math will be simple.   We take the whole income for a standard timeframe - (14-30days) and depending on the current dividend rate, investors will get it sent to their wallet on record and we will record the transaction.

We are currently mining and will be using the capital in increase our production capacity.  We have a few options we are in talks with right now.

An offering statement will be post soon and at that point I will be available for conference calls to field question and to gauge initial interest.  We are a pure-play mining company at this time.  More details will be in the offering statement.

Sincerely,
Dalkore

2030  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: What is Intensity & Best Intensity Settings? (5830, 5850, 6870 and 7970) CGMine on: June 12, 2012, 07:18:07 AM
Intensity is the amount of work in one go the GPU has to do before it can return its results. It needs to be large enough to keep the device fully utilised yet not so overloaded that the device becomes unresponsive. The faster the GPU, the higher the sweet spot is. Ram is of no use to mining whatsoever. They could even mine fine with only a few MB of ram.

THANK YOU. That is what I was looking for.  Makes sense.

If i add RAM to the boxes, will that allow a higher intensity with better results?  I still don't understand how it helps and hurts performance?   much appreciated if you could.

2032  Economy / Securities / Re: How protected is the GLBSE from a pirate default? on: June 11, 2012, 11:49:49 PM
I personally don't invest in any assets on GLBSE or outside GLBSE apart from GLBSE itself (this has been my only investment in terms of time and money).

GLBSE as a whole does not invest in anything except GLBSE.

I and GLBSE are not invested in any way with BS&T or any of it's pass through bonds, shares whatever.

Is your BTC that is held in GLBSE safe?

Whatever the BTC balance is of your account is what we have in cold storage (of course, this number is the sum of all BTC account balances on GLBSE).

If there is a "run", i.e. if EVERYONE on GLBSE wished to withdraw all their BTC at the same time there would be a delay of one or two hours, as large withdrawal requests are checked and funds dropped into the hot wallet to fund these. Every bitcent and satoishi would be returned.

Regarding the effect of a complete default of BS&T, I believe it would have a negative knockon effect on the entire bitcoin economy in the same way the sub-prime mortgages fiasco effected stock markets around the world.

There would be something of a recession on GLBSE, and I think as a result trade volume would probably reduce(which means that GLBSE's revenue would also reduce).

The upside to all this is that uncompetitive businesses (that are involved) would probably close and capital would begin to be more effectively allocated to the productive parts of the bitcoin economy.

It would mean that there would be more funds available for new ideas and technologies instead of being wasted or tied up in an unproductive area of the economy.

I love markets, and they will previal.

^^^^^^^^ - Nefario, I really am warming to you.  Well put, you are well read I see as well.   I can't wait to do business with the GBSLE.   Just getting our ducks in a row.

Mining using CGMiner on Win7 x64 Rigs, I use the following Intensity for the same cards you listed:

5830 - 8
5850 - 8
6870 - 8
7970 - 9

That is what I am running too.   Any information on what this setting is or means?  All I have found is that it is a fine-tuning setting and bigger isn't always better.

Thanks a bunch.

Does anyone first have a good explanation on what intensity is in CGminer?  I searched and no one has directly talked about this too much.

I am looking for the proper intensity settings for these cards below.   I have them running 840/300 and the 7970 at 1100/500

Card Series:

5830

5850

6870

7970

2035  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ["WAIT LIST"] BFL Singles Order Date / Ship Date on: June 11, 2012, 06:08:56 PM
Derr so you can be sure the output is correct?  You don't run tests in a live environment when you're trying to quality check a product... that's QA 101.  You run your tests against a known good data set with known results and compare what you get from the unit.

Being that there are many of these in the wild now, they all seem to be working as intended, it sounds like their testing practices are working well.   Why is this thread turning into another debate for or against BFL.  Either buy their stuff or don't.  I want this thread for informational purposes.   Read the headline before you post, if it is something else, then make a new post.

First, a single default does not mean total default.   It depends on what income was backing that income.
