2021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 07, 2022, 06:22:56 PM
GGG does not have to mind the trash-talk, he needs to focus on this fight and prove to the world that he can beat Canelo. Imagine if GGG will win here, that would give Canelo 2 losses in a row and will result in reducing his popularity. People will also remember that GGG is the better fighter between the two, so I understand why GGG is silent, it only says he will do the talking in the ring.

GGG is always silent and never we saw him badmouthing his opponent. Him being humble just want to prove his strength in the actual fight and not by words. GGG is also not the type of boxer that will return dirty talk. He will rather be silent about it and just wait for the result on the day of the fight.

Canelo on the other hand already put some heated arguments against GGG but still, the latter just remained silent and calm.

And that's the best thing about Golovkin, he ain't the type of boxer who does some issues or sick argument just to sell a fight. He was humble since he started his career in the boxing industry and made a name without scratching someone's back or stepping on someone, all Golovkin wanted is to show the whole industry what he made of and just like to do the talk.

For Canelo, it's fine for him to talk big and everything like that because he can also prove what he is saying inside the ring. It's just that Canelo knew some time ago that without the help of the judges, he now has 3 losses in his career that's why he is trying to take a fight into Golovkin's head to mess the latter's strategy.
2022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 07, 2022, 06:01:31 PM

The money is flowing into exhibition matches because there are famous names getting involved in those matches.
They are creating a good hype for those matches and hence the tickets are being sold anything.
For example: Logan Paul vs Mayweather match was really hyped and gained a lot of attention.

Pretty much Exhibition matches are very popular because people get to see their favorite fighter or artist fight a retired boxer, and this time a Youtuber VS a retired boxer, this  kind of fight will surely catch attention because it is new for them, and some are pretty much bored on just boxing they want to see never before seen just like on the upcoming fight of Manny Pacquiao on December against a martial arts master and that is DK Yoo, maybe this will create a stir on the fans or could be a fail because in recent DK Yoo fight some Youtuber has to Speculate that DK Yoo doesn't know how to fight in boxing,

That fight of Manny Pacquiao against DK Yoo will surely amass a good fortune because people already missed having the sight of Pacquiao fighting again in the ring even if it's not a professional fight and there is no doubt about that. I hope that someday there will be a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight too because that will be a good sight to see too.

There is a chance that DK Yoo will just be schooled because he is not used to boxing as he is a martial artist, but I bet he's already practicing and training a lot to give the people an entertaining fight so that their money won't be wasted.
2023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 07, 2022, 05:40:57 PM
I’m not sure I like the Hornets signing Montrez Harrell. I feel like he got his bag when he left the Clippers and hasn’t been the same since. I don’t suspect any team that signs him is going to get their money’s worth. I don’t think he’s a good pairing with their young run and gun squad either. I guess we’ll see how it goes, but I feel like it won’t go well.
Signing with the Hornets or the Sixers? It's the latter that I'm reading.

It's $5.2 Million for two years with a player option for a 28-year-old center. I don't think that's a bad deal for any team since he can still be useful in player rotations. The Sixers probably thinks he could give Embiid more minutes to rest while he's on the floor. Maybe they're hoping a double-double or close to it for 20 minutes?

It's the Sixers, he was already in the Hornets in the recent season. But yes, I agree. I think the Sixers are looking for a temporary center while Embiid is resting or taking more time in the offensive playing as a power-forward because why would they sign Harrell if that is not what they are looking forward to. Anyway, only time can answer these questions we're thinking.
2024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RUIZ VS ORTIZ SUN, SEP 04, 2022 10PM ET EASTERN TIME/ on: September 06, 2022, 06:55:19 PM
I was wrong I thought it will not go the distance both fighters are powerful punchers but yet they both have a granite chin, I admire Kingkong for getting up every time he goes down he is still strong and can take the fight to the limit, at 43 and with many fresh faces coming in the heavyweight division his chances to be world champion is slim with this recent loss, he also says that he will still continue to fight maybe until he gets busted, the mind is the last to give up even though the body is still can and that what categorize Kingkong Ortiz.

Who would have thought that this fight would go the distance after that knockdowns in the second round. That Ortiz is one tough old man, he recovered and almost win the fight if not for that three knockdowns he could have that decision win.

My gamble paid off as I bet for Ruiz via decision, I reviewed the tape of the previous fights of Ortiz and found out that this is tough though, only lost to Wilder by TKO (Wilder is on another lever compared to Ruiz) so i decided to go for the decision win by Ruiz.

Congratulations on your win mate, although we are already speculating that Andy will be the one winning in this fight but I didn't expected that the fight will last a full 12 round after Ortiz was knocked down twice in the 2nd round and once in 7th but the latter managed to pull all his strength after that and finished the whole fight. In my take, Luis Ortiz deserves a credit for finishing the whole fight after what he endured in the early rounds.
2025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 06, 2022, 05:30:47 PM
Floyd Mayweather wasn't an undisputed champion in the welterweight division, he had all the belts except the IBF belt at that time because Kell Brook was the one holding it until he was defeated against Spence Jr. in 2016. But yes, Mayweather has many reasons at that time to make sure Manny Pacquiao won't have his chance for a rematch because Floyd knows that he won't be lucky anymore.

That's why having a rematch clause is really important especially for a big fight just like this one, an undisputed title is on the line together with the 4 belts. It will just end up like Mayweather-Pacquiao back in 2015.

Well, I don't know how many Mayweather fans are, but we all know what he did with Pacquiao, in boxing there should always be rematches, no matter how strong they are, they should exist, and I didn't like that time there was that fight where Mayweather seemed to be in A speed race in the ring, where you could only see a boxer and a rabbit running, where everything focused on the technical, where many were not left with a taste of the sport and above all very badly the judges, this is something that I did not like and I hope to never see a fight like this again, or by Pacquiao but by a boxer like Mayweather, and Mayweather fans excuse me, but it had to be said.

They already know about that fact and they cannot deny that their idol was once a marathon runner inside the boxing ring against a much older Manny Pacquiao and their fight was already called years earlier when Pacquiao was a bit younger but Mayweather didn't go along that discussion as he knew that a prime Pacquiao will definitely stain his record.
2026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: September 06, 2022, 05:07:27 PM
There is a lot of speculation about Shakur, I really wouldn't know what to do with an eventual bet of this kind, when we go to see each other Conceicao is a very good boxer, and it's not for nothing, but I've liked the fights I've seen of him a lot, it is also hard and surely Conceicao will not want to surrender and fight with everything.

I am in telegram groups that are very active in boxing and have a lot of confidence in Shakur, so the odds will be very much in his favor, and this urges me to bet more on Conceicao because the profits that can be produced if the He wins sopn very big, of course I see this from the point of view of a bettor and at the same time as an athlete.

Robson is a decent boxer and can keep up with other excellent boxers in the league too that's why he got this far but the downside is that he have some limitations on how long he can keep up, we saw how he was defeated by Valdez while Shakur didn't have some much trouble defeating Valdez and we can see that the scores are quite wide to compare.

But I support you on your decision mate, Robson's odds is good if ever he wins in this fight but his chances are just slim. Anyway, we never know for sure because there has been lots of upsets lately.

Robson and Shakur both have a very good track record when it comes to their fights.
As of right now, Shakur has fought 18 fights and hasn't lost a single one of them.
As well as Robson, he also fought 18 times. As of right now, he has 17 wins and one loss to his name.

It looks like this will be a really close fight, based on the way it looks on paper. It is true that, at the same time, it does seem like the pendulum is a little bit heavy towards Shakur's side at the moment. But that does not mean Shakur is going to be the winner. There is no doubt that both fighters are very capable and that this is going to be a very interesting fight between them.

Yes, they both have a good record in their respective career but we cannot really base everything in the paper as that's not how the winner of the fight is decided and perhaps watching their recent performances will help us to see who will likely dominate. Also, based on that, I think we can quite assume that it will be Shakur. But yes, it's not decided yet, so let's see it together in the day of their fight.
2027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 06, 2022, 04:39:29 PM
That is probably one of the reasons why they are so confident about taking a fight against UFC fighters, they already have some idea of how to deal with these fighters because of that experience they acquired. Anyway let's go back to the fight, Anderson Silva can protect his chin well and other weaknesses but that's in the old times when is still fast to react and quite agile to counter the movements. But now? He will be an open book to Jake Paul, no doubt.

Besides, MMA uses lighter gloves so the impact is far more devastating, now I wonder if Silva can still launch those kinds of punches that can floor his opponent with heavier gloves.
I know this is all promotions and business for Jake Paul but I wonder when will be the time for him to grow balls and challenge a professional boxing legend instead  Grin.

That's just one of many difference that MMA and boxing have, Silva is already considered as one of the legends in his time in MMA while Jake Paul is just trying to make his name in the boxing that's why having an exhibition fights like these means a lot to Jake Paul as this is his own way to make his name even if it really doesn't make sense at all. I totally agree in what you said, he should just try and fight pure pro boxers because that's a better way to create a noise for his name.
2028  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Benefits of been a bitcointalk member on: September 05, 2022, 08:57:07 PM
Benefits of being a Bitcointalk member is you can join any discussion that a forum users started which could help us learn new things that we haven't know or learned yet. Having an account in bitcointalk forum means we can visit boards that are not accessible to guest eho are only roaming the forum without an identity if I say or in my opinion. If I haven't been a member of bitcointalk forum then I wouldn't have known Bitcoin in the first place.
That’s the main focus on this bitcointalk forum, to make us aware about everything in bitcoin and the likes. So if we are not members here, I’d swear it’s hard to know everything in bitcoin since what we read mostly about bitcoin in some articles are just fake news and are not reliable. So only in this forum where we can get the most legit information since everything that are shared are mostly cam from real-life experiences of bitcoin and crypto investors or traders.
2029  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: EPISODE 2: I TEACH YOUNG ADULTS ON BITCOIN TRADING on: September 05, 2022, 08:30:38 PM
Nice follow up teaching, but do you think it not that too early to tackle trading Bitcoin when they had a little grasp of what really Bitcoin is?  They might end up blaming you if ever they failed on their trading venture since they haven't got any fundamental learning of Bitcoin and its market.
Thank your for your persistency OP and being patient to teach your neighbors in the best way you can. However, I also think that teaching them about bitcoin trading and letting them experience on it with just a short period of bitcoin discussion might be too early to do this. I guess they’re still seeing bitcoin as more of a quick profiting, so they might not yet ready to gain losses in trading at first. Just focus first on knowledge acquisition, and show them first demo trading tutorials so they will gain more ideas on crypto trading.
2030  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin do $19k again before a bull market? on: September 05, 2022, 08:09:03 PM
If it happens that Bitcoin goes down to $18 or 19k, that will be the last time it will go that low this year, what do you guys think about this (Bitcoin experts in the forum)?
Not sure anyone would be expert on bitcoin price here. Even the highest rank or the highest merit earner couldnt tell what would be the btc stance in the coming years. But if you are deeply worried then just exit your asset and turn off crypto notification.  Its quite normal to see red days and thats due to a lot of news and some making it more exaggerated one that move others into selling due to fear and fud. But if you believe in btc is the future of money then just DCA no matter what the price, at some point it will go back or even surpass its ATH.
No one is really capable to end up with a right prediction as bitcoin price will always be unpredictable. I can’t even say that the current price will not drop anymore and fall below $20k, as everything is possible when it comes to bitcoin. However, if you have big faith in bitcoin, and you keep on buying bitcoin for long term investment, then forget about the present price volatility of bitcoin as you are not going to sell anyway when you know you’re not making huge profits.
2031  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks are changing ..... Bitcoin should wake up and innovate more! on: September 05, 2022, 07:51:55 PM
I don't see any connection, much less threat, here. Bitcoin wasn't invented to disrupt the brick and mortar banking model. So whether the banks totally abandon their branches or not, it doesn't matter to Bitcoin. It does not in any way diminish Bitcoin's relevance and value.

Whether the banks shift to online operations or remain in brick and mortar operations, they remain as banks, intermediaries, third parties that have to be trusted by the people and where transactions will have to pass through. Moreover, they remain to be fiat entities.

In science, this is like physical change and, as opposed to chemical change, nothing has actually changed in the substance.
No matter how banks improved and changes to stay connected to the people’s needs, it will always remain that banks are centralized and are controlled by the government, while bitcoin will always be centralized and will always allow people the banks of their own. So there’s still an advantage if we focus on bitcoin, especially if we aim more to become independent of our finances.
2032  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some say Bitcoin is dead but Bitcoin is not dead on: September 05, 2022, 07:28:18 PM
The players gonna play, and the haters gonna hate. Ignore the people who say such bullshit, and you'll remember me. There's no reason to talk seriously for this subject if your interlocutor hasn't spent at least 100 hours to study it. It wasn't dead, isn't dead, and won't die. It's needed. If it was dead, it'd cease to exist; no blocks every 10 minutes, no merchants accepting it, no people talking about it.
Bitcoin has never run out of negative attacks, and bitcoin claiming as dead has already been said a lot of times. So this is not new to all of us, except for those newbies who are still collecting memorable experiences. However, if bitcoin is completely dead, then expect that the whole crypto market will be dead too because bitcoin is simply the blood and future of the crypto market.
2033  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Overcome a Bear Market in Cryptocurrency on: September 04, 2022, 09:44:52 PM
in the current situation, the most comfortable thing is to buy it, by getting a cheap price, we will have a larger number of tokens, and of course it will be easier to make a profit, when the market goes up, and when the market goes down, we are prepared to buy it back , because rest assured no one knows when a reversal will occur, so we net coins according to the analysis we have done
While this is a good time to buy bitcoins cheap, we should research when we can buy them so we don't buy bitcoins at high prices. Maybe we can analyze it first while waiting for a red candle to appear in the market so that we can buy it cheaply. But if the price goes down deeper, you don't need to panic because maybe it's a correction still happening and it's time to buy again and hold it. But if you are afraid of price changes, you may not need to enter the market and just wait for the price to reverse.
The only reason people get panic because they were threatened when there is a bear season believing that everything is bound to fall, not knowing that this bear market brings another opportunity to buy and invest, and be profitable when the market recovers. If we just keep on buying bitcoin and hold it for long term during bear market, then we will surely overcome the struggles that mostly people create every time the market is bearish.
2034  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading gambling in another form? on: September 04, 2022, 09:18:34 PM
Gambling is betting something valuable on an uncertainty outcome right? Isn't this the same with Trading?/i mean even pro traders said out of 10 trades you can lose 4 and win 6, is this not a form of gambling? I had this argument with few of my friends that are traders some hours ago and I will like to here from you all what hou think about this.
Trading has its own inevitable losses no matter how good you are in it but in gambling, it’s not how good you are but how lucky you are, that is why a lot of people lose from gambling because it’s not all the time they got lucky. And some people too see trading as gambling because they are not yet capable to trade since they lack the knowledge and skills, the reason why they often lose in trading same with gambling.
2035  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Longterm Price Target on: September 03, 2022, 09:48:04 PM
I'll say that sky is the limit if it's about the truest potential and price of bitcoin in the future. Take all of those halvings for example and when we say long term, it'll depend on how long you're looking at it.

With halving, as the reward for the mined blocks will become lesser for the miners. That will result to the lesser supply and higher difficulty for it to mine a block and as well as higher price.

Well, I don't have a price in my mind but I'm very much optimistic and waiting for it to come. Many might laugh at us for now if we tell them about 6 to 7 digits but who knows, right?
No one can tell exactly what will be the highest long term target price for bitcoin as bitcoin seems very unpredictable from the start. However, we know for sure that bitcoin has the highest potentials in the market so it’s also expected that bitcoin will reach its ATH in the future in a very high and impressive price. And with halving that is always possible to occur, that will determine bitcoin’s future price in the market.
2036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can this be the reason some people are afraid to invest in Bitcon? on: September 03, 2022, 09:27:11 PM
The typical human mind initially considers the fictitious drawbacks and rejects the possibility of another type of money. However, a growing number of individuals are visiting exchanges like Binance, Primexbt, Kraken, etc. People are afraid because they were taught to be afraid as child. This is, unfortunately, what the educational system does.

I am also a victim. Wish I had joined this forum earlier.

We were always taught from out parents or from educational institutions to always be careful with money.
So yes a mindset has always been drawn that when there is risk we shouldn’t invest any money. But people have forgotten the prime factor that when the risk is high, the return of investment is also great.
Nevertheless OP ,i can see your feelings that you are really upset, as you are not an early investor of the coin, so definitely you are feeling bad. But guess what currently Bitcoins price are best,so use this advantage and buy as many coins as possible.
Not literally that we’re afraid but rather we become worried and apprehensive in things that bring risks and are unsecured. This is why as a human nature, we tend to become somewhat fearful at first especially like bitcoin investment which most of us have no enough knowledge on it. We’re afraid to lose our money by not taking risks, not realizing that if we don’t take risks, there will be no gains also.

Jake Paul has announced his next opponent is Anderson Silva. I think Jake might have but off a little more than he can chew this time. Sure, Silva is damn near 50 years old, but he’s got power that Jake hasn’t seen before. I like this fight. I’d rather have seen him fight Andrew Tate, but this was unexpected and a nice surprise.

looking at the two fighters I strongly believe that anderson silva will be victorious in this fight, that's because anderson silva had some boxing matches against strong opponents and he had a good performance, not to mention that the guy is an experienced MMA fighter, of course in boxing he can still be an amateur, but the fact that he fought in mma gives him some advantage over being more aggressive, being a person with good reflexes and knowing several fights, on the other hand we have Jake Paul who, despite being a young with some fights and victories against fighters who are also strong he is still young and doesn't have the fighting experience that anderson silva has. That's why for me anderson silva wins this fight, Jake Paul will definitely come out of this fight sad

You have some point there mate, I'll give you that. But aside from their experiences, we must not forget that Anderson Silva is not that young anymore to show how good his reflexes are just like what we've saw in his fights when he is still fighting professionally. Anderson Silva is almost 50 years old now, and that's one of the reasons why Jake Paul picked him as his next opponent, I mean Jake Paul wouldn't pick him if his chances on winning against the retired MMA fighter is literally slim.

Those lines you said made me think twice because Silva is truly a one of a kind fighter while Jake Paul is just starting his career in boxing, but as I said, Silva is already old enough for these matches and I believe that he only accepted this fight because he cannot reject good money that will be made in this fight and not because he is looking to show the world that he can still defeat young aspirants.

Well well well, here I thought I was a low risk gambler but it turns out I am not quite that careful with my money and my gambling habits. Roll Eyes

High risk gambler is now an attribute which that little quiz has given me.

Although I somewhat doubt the accuracy of that test, as it seems a bit too simple for any realistic assessment (it seems like more of a Facebook personality quiz, to be completely honest), it did make me reflect on my gambling strategy a bit harder. So thanks for that.

I feel you mate Grin this quiz also makes me anxious enough because I am also classified as a high-risk gambler like you, though this type of quiz doesn't really assess the real situation we are in towards our gambling activities but I can't take it off my mind because of the result I received and made me realize something to ease my activities.
2040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 01, 2022, 05:15:16 PM
It could have a rematch (even if there is no written clause in the initial contract), if the fight is going to be razor sharp close or maybe even in a draw.

But if it's a convincing win, then maybe not, but if there is a huge money involved then again, they could go and fight one more before going up in weight. So I guess the fans will also have a final say and maybe the promoters are going to take that lead from us if they see a demand for it.

That's true however both sides should secure a rematch clause to make sure that a rematch will happen soon if one will pursue it and so that no one will avoid. There will be demand for sure if the fight is close enough but a rematch won't be possible if one of them starts running after named as the undisputed boxer in welterweight division.

And it's possible to happen. We witness that with Mayweather after beating Pacquiao.

Didn't give Pacquiao a rematch to remain undisputed after winning all the belts. Not sure, but in my opinion this is also
been discussed and part of the negotiation.

If the losing side asks for a rematch or secures a rematch, it's a good rivalry to take place, a possible trilogy if in case
both of them win a fight right? looking forward to hear updates regarding to this upcoming fights.
