@urban_idler I find much of what you said thoughtful and insightful. I am looking for a good, solid altcoin to invest my time/$ into, so as for my issue with the "robbed" claim I made, it goes against all the I believe in for any coin that claims to be a decentralized coin to do certain things. Among those things is to remove any, and all, choice from the community about who pays what to whom and for anyone to take x% off the top of a block reward of a solo miner. I have not, as of yet, decided how much time, labor, and/or $ I will invest in CrownCoin; however, even if I go all-in, I will not waiver from those 2 core beliefs. From my perspective taking a mandatory 50% off the top is a kin to being a reverse Robin Hood (taking from the poor and giving it to the rich); even the Church only demands 10% ( ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) ).

I do have to say, though, that all of this has finally pushed me to the point of rewriting NOMP to modern node.js versions and making it actually for solo-mining (neither of which are something it was intended for).
Looking forward to that ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) both NOMP and UNOMP are in dire need of a modernized node.js version. Well, I've toyed with the idea since I got my 1st batch of S9s, but since NOMP "worked" (even though it's massively bloated for solo), I saw no need to "reinvent the wheel". Even though I haven't dug much into it (because a rewrite that involved was mostly academic), I'm sure that there are overhead benefits that can be had (especially since the rig that runs my "pool" is also a folding rig). That and when someone says, "that's not right", I know where to dig and exactly why x does y. As an aside, for the next 8 blocks I believe I've set payeeReward to 9 (2.7*25 blocks + 4.5). While this will not pay previous nodes what they were "supposed to get", it should show that I had/have 0 malintent or intention of "unfairly" profiting.

...Really pissed off at Bitmain. Just when I think they can't get any scummier, they find a way.
And they did exactly what to you? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif)

What are these people thinking?
Selfishly. Seems sarcasm escapes you. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

if you rely on bitcoin price increasing to ROI, you would make MORE and be better off just buying bitcoin and holding it..
Truly wise words. Something every miner should consider, before blindly purchasing hardware. If you don't rely on bitcoin price increasing to ROI, then you shouldn't be in bitcoin.

...Your mistake was thinking that it was because of a mistake made by me or the team, In which it was not. And indeed it is a bug caused by NOMP. ....
Errr..... ummmm.... NO! ...And if you didn't know i'm also a NOMP/UNOMP developer...
... if there is a CrownCoin "issue", it's a dev issue. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) If you're a dev for NOMP and NOMP has a bug, then, yes, it was a mistake by you (not a mistake by me thinking it was a mistake by you). You don't get to claim being a dev for both NOMP and the coin, claim there's a bug in NOMP that makes it not work as you expected, and then say I'm wrong for saying it's a dev issue. Why? Because, logic!

Hey, Bitmain.
How does it feel being the most hated entity in Bitcoinia right now, over your BU bullshit ?
Go choke on your own greed, fuckers.
Yeah, how dare they not support further centralizing Bitcoin around the wants of the Core devs? What are these people thinking? After all, what is the point of a decentralized coin and freedom of choice when Core devs can make all of the decisions for everyone?

...Both of us are in the wrong here but there's no need for namecalling... If you falsely accuse someone of altering the wallet to "cheat" (by saying, "Nice to know you intentionally changed the code to your benefit") and they don't call you "an asshole" (or worse), then they care nothing of their reputation or truth. Setting that aside, I'm still not sure what you think I was "in the wrong" about...
|
|
|
... NOMP won't change the reward structure without the user making changes to the core. And it sure as hell won't adjust the rewards to a random percentage...
Because I hate it when some asshole tries to call me a liar... It is NOMP (more specifically node-stratum-pool) that sets the 20%: https://github.com/zone117x/node-stratum-pool/blob/master/lib/transactions.js#L136With line 136 set to 5 ( as it was originally coded) --- 9/5=1.8: cad32a4f10a5b2cb931a1949b796efee0adb28334dfc74c2d37bc44f2f5e96ca

1GoCtfbodeZCrgfj3a1B8h1pDebxp5vgGJ 7.5 CRW 1GUhjtP8QFUVctnFHEyvxCcoE9NJTwx7Rw 1.5 CRW Next time you want to disparage someone, I suggest you pick someone that can't read enough code to prove you wrong....

|
|
And if you didn't know i'm also a NOMP/UNOMP developer, so I'm quite familiar with the code and how it works...
Yes, I'm aware of that, which is why I know that you know what line I am talking about (but in case you forgot, it is now: https://github.com/zone117x/node-stratum-pool/blob/master/lib/pool.js#L569). ...NOMP won't change the reward structure without the user making changes to the core...
Which is exactly why I said: ... if there is a CrownCoin "issue", it's a dev issue. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) P.S. - Defending myself from your false claim that I did something "wrong" isn't FUD; it's proving that you're an ass and you're wrong. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

... Guess what bumped to the top of my list though? Enforcement.
Well, at least fixing the code you screwed up (and are trying to blame on me) is of some import to you. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Congratulations then, my post wasn't malevolent, I just couldn't believe a shipment like this would move and clear customs on a weekend. ...
FedEx likes to "pre-clear" as much of their cargo as they can (especially multiple packages to the same person/business). Time is money and all that.
|
|
|
...Nice to know you intentionally changed the code to your benefit though ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) without doing so, it wouldn't be possible. The only code I changed was to make NOMP work with both PeerCoin and CureCoin (with empty args in the [] part to get block template) and that's a NOMP edit. Beyond that, if there is a CrownCoin "issue", it's a dev issue. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
|
|
|
... Thanks for the bug report. Even though enforcement isn't on, still shouldn't be possible. Will look into it.
Being robbed by 20% instead of 50% isn't a bug. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

...Crown is also the leading proposal for adding to Slush pool at the moment.
That might just make me want to give up my 7.2CRW per block and go back to pool mining.

Well, it's still more profitable than ZetaCoin and TigerCoin, I guess that's gotta count for something. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

You Guessed it! Cleared customs and are only a few hours away from our facility! ...

There was no correction phase during all this mega pump and another factor of profit making from current Bitcoin price as well played its part to drive the price down. In my fair opinion CRW will bounce back in coming days as this market hot and unpredictable at the same time.
As long as people see it as a dump-coin, it will drop and stay down (even more so when BTC recovers).
|
|
|
What in your view makes Crown a short term altcoin?
As a miner with @ 100TH for alts... ...i have sold yesterday around 80k CRW ...i will be dumping another 300k during upcoming days..
...Just pointing out that miners are hopefully only going to be here for a short time...Miners have no play in our end goal....
Community makes a coin. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
