20321  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain registers S11, S11+ and F3 with Russia FSB Protocol on: April 24, 2018, 12:29:21 AM
One concern.  Per the website provided:

Quote
This Antminer S11 is not only the first 10nm miner for retailuse but using less than half the energy per gigahash of the S9, but it is also our most powerful miner to enter mass production .

Yet the stated power consumption is 70J/TH.  The S9 is 0.098J/GH, or 98J/TH.  70 is not "less than half" of 98.

Also, 70J/TH @ 22TH = 1540 Watts, not 1340W as advertised, and thats just for the chips not including power supply losses, fans, controllers, etc.

Also concerned that the same chip number, BM1387, is being used for both the current 16nm chip and this proposed chip.  That is rather unusual to say the least.

This level of "sloppy" rings of a fake ad.

look at the ad

I see lies or errors just like you see.

Ooo I like surprises.

on the big stats page.

I am number 38  at 16th.

I am not using an avalon 841
I am not using an antminer s-9

which leaves ?

It appears  to be doing its thing correctly.

I will leave it for a while.

I won't make any announcements as to which miner it is.

I Leave it up to the DOC.
20323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Dragonmint B52 miner from Halong on: April 23, 2018, 04:45:42 PM
Yeah they are about 50 for a pair  after shipping he raised price.

I got 4 for 91 and earned 7 in ebucks  so I got them at 4 for 84 or 21 each.

But the B52  earns 50 a day   so a dead fan  means I lose 50 a day.

I now have spares.

Also  I am cooler 3-4c
I am quieter  3 db
I use 50 less watts

that is 1200 watts a day  or about 14 cents a day  so in 300 days that is 42 bucks. which is what 1 pair cost.
20324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Dragonmint B52 miner from Halong on: April 23, 2018, 04:14:31 PM

20325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: April 23, 2018, 03:53:26 PM
So quiet in here.. what's happening? Smiley)

What you're mining lately? I personally keep my ATI to nicehash cryptonight7 and nvidia all to raven, sometimes I'm switching towards pigeon. I've heard about Lux, but did not have time to read more about it. Whatcha think?

Only nVidia GPUs here as well... LUX and Zen.  Occasionally my Awesome Miner will switch my rigs to BZL and SnowGem in the last few days.  My couple of old ASICs are mining X13 at Nicehash to pay the electric bill.

any links for lux and zen?

I am hodling 5200 rvn
and 5000 sia

mining

zec now

with 4+3+4+10 = 21 1080tis

I have been asic busy lately

The b52  which is the s11 is a sia mining beast.

fans are shitty and loud so I found some san ace and switched.  temps dropped 5 c  and less noise .

also power dropped 25 watts.

The b52 is earning more then 50 a day at about 1450 watts
20326  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My review of Avalon 841 No Info yet. on: April 23, 2018, 03:47:48 PM
Well if the gear can't run in a 95f room.

Then the T1 may end up to be what I need.

I can keep room at 95f in the summer if it is 98f real world temp.

Basically I can get the room 3 f cooler then outside temp once outside temps gets into 90's

So maybe it fails. maybe it does not

maybe I add more fans or one more heat shield
20327  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My review of Avalon 841 No Info yet. on: April 23, 2018, 02:27:07 PM
If room temp is 95F I think you will have problems. I have one that rarely runs longer than 24 hours in 20C and unit intake temp is constantly at 28-30C for some reason. Will just go into idle status and not start hashing again until I cycle PSU. Another 841 in same environment runs fine. May be luck of the draw where some of these are more sensitive than others. I may also have a dud, but I'm interested in seeing others room vs intake temps.

Well it won't hit 95f  until the summer or late spring.

but it will get there.

I  did a screen shot price for 1 miner  S11 and shipping to usa

coinbase price right now is 8922   so .446 x 8922 =  3979 usd  you are off by more then 200 usd in your favor.

I can guarantee it is always off in your favor as I check it 1 time every hour for days now and it is always 100 to 350 usd in your favor.

As it should be about 3500 + 120 to ship or 3620 usd .  It has never been this price. On 3 different exchanges  all the times I checked.

I don't mind the extra 100 to 350 overcharge I mind you hide it.

You have done it for years.

Why not simply say BTC rates and LTC rates are Slightly  higher due to exchange costs.
The no one would complain.
I have purchased 300,000 in gear since 2012 I have never purchased a single item from you  because you do this.
I own a dragon mint b52 which is the same as your s11 it is a fine miner I would buy the s11 from you if you were transparent  about exchange rates you are not.
To all  the S11 is good gear well at least my B52 is good.

20329  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: April 23, 2018, 02:03:47 PM
Yes, there was just some BCH added to your account - nothing removed. As usual you can see all changes on your account under "my account" -> "transaction history" in the website menu.

Thanks I got a bit of bch.

to all  miners here

The Doc and I are working on something today maybe it will be setup by days end.
20330  Bitcoin / Hardware / My review of Avalon 841 . on: April 23, 2018, 12:17:05 PM
It is  being shipped by DHL and is due on Weds.

Buysolar  went to Beijing  last week  did training.

The are shipping a 841 for us to test.
They also demoed a racking system prototype.

We are getting the 841 and will be testing it and demo with some youtube and various psus.

I am curious to see if -1 setting using a corsair 1500 watt titanium will yield lowest watts per gh.
Our cooling at the solar array  keeps temps at 95f or lower in summer.  It should be interesting to see if it holds up at that temp.

DHL says item arrives on weds the 25th.
20331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: April 23, 2018, 03:36:51 AM
Yes, all units had static ips.

look at this screen shot
factory reset button looks like it could save you

not sure about ip set

but factory reset should get you out of the static ip

I just installed "https://download.halongmining.com/testing/t1_20180418_054846.swu" on 3 of my miners.
It went fine for two of them... but one seems to now be bricked.
It does power on, no fault detected, green light turns on, fans turns on, ethernet light of my switch detects the miner.  But the static IP I gave it is nowhere to be seen.  A full ip scan reveals no new device on the network either.
Is there a way to unbrick it using the sd slot?

Thanks

well  the static ip caused your firmware update to brick unit.

I did that update with zero issues .

did you have static on the other units?

20334  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [8 PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool on: April 23, 2018, 12:00:14 AM
I am officially a loyal member of ck pool. Just switched my new miner to the server.
I’m in it for the long haul.
Any info on start up time or anything else that’s useful to know about the pool?

The pool is small and it takes time to hit a block.

The  pool pays dust kano's pool is yet to pay dust.

How many miners do you have?

lastly.  and here is the part people do  struggle to understand. it pays based on an average of how long it should take to make 5 blocks.

You are a johnny come lately so to speak  so you will need to mine a while to get a full share.

Maybe  on the 5th block  the shares will be full.

Since the shares are based on the last 5 blocks (assuming normal luck)

20335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU miners at apartment complex on: April 22, 2018, 11:52:58 PM
Most household 120V 15A wall sockets will get very warm when pulling over 1000W continously. Replacing the wall sockets with 20A sockets keeps them from heating up.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-20-Amp-Commercial-Duplex-Power-Outlet-White-R62-CBR20-00W/202066702

this is not always true.

in usa
14 ga  wire can be in circuits
12 ga  wire is pretty good
10 ga  wire is no wqrries.

if he has some 14 ga wire in his apartment  and puts a 20 amp circuit breaker he can do a fire in the wall.
.
another problem is aluminum wire.   rare but if the building was built from 1965 to 1975 some areas allowed it to be put in due to copper shortage ( Vietnam war ).

Aluminum  is shitty compared to copper and in a house really shitty.

I know this because my home in NJ  had aluminum wire.
I fully wired my home with copper in the 90's I put in a lot of heavy duty wire for amps to run subwoofers ,lucky as my house now has 2x 30 amp 240 volt circuits for mining.  and only 1 subwoofers for HT

We will do a heat test as we run 95 f in the summer

That is 35 c

Hi,
I have two questions.
What is the difference between Kano.is pool and CKPool.org?
Also,
I pointed my S9 to Kano.is yesterday, how kind is the start up time for the miner to get paid? Is CKPool.org better?
Thanks for your help

good question.

I stopped mining at kano  I now mine at -ck

This means  I personally like -ck pool better then kano pool.

First do you have access to the circuit box?

If you do take a few photos and post them.

If you don’t have access to the box I would suggest you don’t mine with three large rigs.

Since you don’t know how much power you have available I would do one three card rig first.
