Never used Bitcoins in face to face transactions, but only due to lack of acceptance here.
How it is? They trust you for zero confirmation transactions, or they only allow you to go after X confirmations? Or they use some kind of 3th part processor?
Wait for confirmation is really not needed for micro transaction (e.g. coffee, restaurant etc.) - the "price" and time it take to execute a double spend will not be worth the effort. But If buying a car, house, boat, 1kg of gold etc. then yes, then is a few confirms needed.

What I really want is to be able to pay in fiat and get the change in BTC, that would be cool

lolz That was a good one!

Consider placing your payment address in the OP, in case that "miffman`", "miffmam" or "milfman" tries his lame phishing attempt.

I have seen many scams here in this forum, believe it or not, I have also seen many cases of people getting their bitcoins back. Many of the scammers here are armatures, so they leave traces, and as soon as the heat goes up and personal information start to be putted on the table, then will the scammers in most cases give the bitcoins back.
I seriously doubt that the personal information the scammer has on you is good for anything, especially now that you are under age (and most likely live at your parents). Seriously? what is he gonna do? Travel across the country to steal your bike?
My suggestion to you: Make a new thread, put all the information you have in the OP, put up a bounty (e.g. 50% or 100%of the recovered bitcoins). Then let this scammer feel it.
This is a matter of principal, we CANNOT as a community let scammers get away that easy, this is properly the one single problem that is preventing bitcoin for going to da moon, people associate bitcoin with scammers and drugdealers. It has to end.

Good for you. Mint quality of #006 coin is significantly better too, but also this coin has oxidised and there's tarnish on the edge. I quickly transfered it to an air tight capsule. While non-special edition ones are shiny(no oxidation), their quality of minting is poorer. Uh, sorry to hear about the oxidation, does not sound good. I looked at mine one more time, it is really in great condition, I do not see any oxidation or tarnish. Only a few very small scuffs on the front from manufacture process. I am seriously considering sending this one to ANACS.

Special edition serial #7 received! I can clearly see that the lower numbers are hand picked, the mint of this coin is significantly better than the two other I got. Great coin! Please go ahead and fund #7 when ever it is convenient. Thank you very much

So as everyone keeps coming up with these new coins and new algorithms, how do they decide how many total coins to offer? I know LTC is exactly 4X as many BTC. Can anyone shed any light on this, or is it completely random and up to each individual coin maker? What are the possible positive and negative impacts on a somewhat random, finiate amount of coins?
You already had many good answers to you question. I also think it is important to mention that the "coin makers" (called devs) can chose to add a "premine" to the genesis block (the first block). The word premine is a bit misleading, since nothing is being mined, they have simply started with giving themselves x millions coins as a rewards for making a new revolutionary coins that everyone should invest in.

Yes. Would've been nice if it was funded on the first day Wow, I thought MS66 was the highest grade achieved for 2011 error coin. Nice one you have there @elianite You need to update your ebook on casacious

More coins on the way from ANACS soon. MS65 + MS66 2011 Brass S1 errors. To show how hard it is to get a MS67, I sent in 40 coins in three batches and only 2 got MS-66 and 1 got a MS-67. Open to any offer for these
That MS67 you got, is that a 2011 error coin?

Coins received!
For those who have not seen a silver panda in real life, they are really something special. Truly a pleasure to look at.

Im writing an ebook to categorize all coins; and i am also trying to collect as many as I can. So; yes you could say that.
I read your ebook on casascius, I enjoyed it a lot, there was a few things that I was not aware of, very interesting reading. Good work

lol! I kind of agree with you there (I'm old ), but tastes in "music"... well, you know. Yep, that is true, music taste tends to crystallize when you are young, everything than is produced after your 21st birthday will eventually be painful for the ears. But that song: the pain, the suffering... My ears stopped bleeding, but I still have a headache.

|

Well I consider shots as nothing more that refined raw silver, so the right price should be very close to spot price (imo). Perhaps adding 1-3% to spot in commission.

Mintcointeam;
Please remove the music video from the top of the first post it lacks talent, the song is annoying, it is not hip at all, and makes this coin look like a joke. Thank you.
I have never played that song, until people started to say it should be removed. You know what happen when I listened to the song? ... MY EARS ARE BLEEDING OF PAIN

That 1 Bitcoin you loaded into it could well be worth more than you paid for the bar in £ someday soon. Buy some more BTC and load it up and use it for what it was made for... a savings bar!!!
+1 This is a really good advice.
