Meh.

Someone told me there were boobs in this thread

It's definitely going to be a war to try and stop it.
It is one of those things that I wonder how they could try and contain things with how far stretched Bitcoins are networked wise, is there a global power switch?

From http://blogs.forbes.com/petercohan/2011/06/28/can-bitcoin-survive-is-it-legal/...Mann pointed out that there have been many attempts at creating online currencies — including Digicash, Flooz, and Beenz. But they never caught on because their marginal costs to consumers and merchants exceeded their marginal benefits. Simply put, there was no compelling reason for the key participants to adopt these new currencies.
A historical look at currencies over the last 500 years reveals an interesting insight — a key limiting factor to adopting currencies has been the ability to make small change. Without small change, merchants could not use currencies to set precise prices. And until relatively recently over that 500 year sweep, governments did not produce enough small change to make currencies useful. Bitcoin might survive as a currency if it can find a way to make consumers and merchants better off. Mann notes that Bitcoin’s ultimate ambition well might be illegal in any event. After all, he points out, there are federal statutes that make it illegal to produce a separate currency. Whether Bitcoin violates those statutes depends on how far it can go along the lines of becoming a true medium for exchange.
But unless it can find a way to get consumers and merchants to adopt it, Bitcoin is more likely to go the way of Flooz (bankrupt in August 2001) than to challenge the dollar as a means of payment.

Nice, there are days when it sucks to be in the market, days when it sucks to be a miner, and days when it sucks to be a hoarder. The only people enjoying Bitcoin are the ones that keep it flowing to other people.

I swear I did a search for Bitcoin Podcasts and the only other one is really just the BitTalk Podcast, just doing a search of something else Podcast related wtih Bitcoins and found this.
If you guys are still doing something, let me know, cause if you'll notice my signature it was something I was doing myself and popped out today.

Listen to me here, I did that whole thing there just for this thread and getting that bitcent

if you worked at dwolla, etc., wouldnt you be at an advantage knowing when a large influx of money was going to be sent to GOX or Trade Hill to predict when to buy/sell?
That sounds like a good idea.

Edited first post to have notes in case anyone scrolls down and thinks a different thread is going on lol

Mining for the general person is over imo.

Make sure you document what is going on in Bitcams. There has been a full attack against me, and what I am trying to do for the community, and it needs to be exposed...
This was a test episode. I had written down that thread and replies as something of an interesting story in itself in fact, but didn't have anything written out yet, still noted though, and is timeless lol.

I would love to know the reason behind hacking game-related stuff.
Lack of customers security, especially in the case of having non-secure unencrypted systems holding credit card numbers. I will not agree with the means in which Lulzsec works, but it isn't 100% mindless lulz.

This community is not for the average person. I would argue most people familiar with bitcoins do know and have used IRC. This again reflects your poor or lack of market research because you are not familiar with your market's demographics. Coolhwip, angry but not a troll. Well said things in your post, this is my favorite part. I think a lot of the Bitcoin start ups have an old school mentality of making things as dumbed down for the consumer as possible, where I would make a strong case that the average Bitcoin user, at least in this stage, knows what the fuck is up, and is looking for the best and most trustworthy services available. Something like a BBB type service makes sense, but yeah, this thread should help people know to not make it just like the BBB.

I would have felt better if I was just Rick Roll'd

whoever this doug casey guy is, it might be wise to consider outside voices for once, instead of just dismissing them as "old", "doesn't get it", "bitcoin is something entirely different, you can't compare it to anything!".
not just referring to you...the entire forum has this attitude.
I know who Doug Casey is and you don't. I consider his opinion much more than yours and I disagree with it. I could give two shits what you think of my attitude, so, if you have nothing substantive to contribute, GTFO. Wow, I wonder how you would have replied if he WAS just referring to you lol

Association with the BBB is bad imo. It is a shit business that it only takes a payment to take care of a bad name on their web sites. I have worked for two companies that regularly pay out a fee to keep the look of their BBB page clean.
Public still trusts them, so whatever, just thought there could be a better or more original to Bitcoin name for this time of system.
