2041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Discussion Thread on: June 26, 2022, 03:39:53 PM
Kano pillars vs Dakkada FC match showed the evil side of the NPFL. The Kano Pillars chairman was very unprofessional in the game, he assaulted a referee on the pitch because he didn't disallow the goal scored by Dakkada FC. This action has brought dishonour  to the game and to the club. He did it in the public, it's not something he did in the dressing room. Why is the board waiting? There should be a severe punishment for Kano Pillars.

It so for unprofessional for a senior man of team to pour out such a behaviour in public, it is an insult to sport in general.  He needs to be punished irrespective of his level he belong in the Nigeria football federation , if nothing is done that means football in the country is in big problem.
It's even more severe that it was the chairman of the club that instigated this violence. The goal was certainly a goal, the result of the match needs to be corrected. The score sheet  by right should be 1-1. How long should the LMC wait to make a decision? The evidence is everywhere, we have all seen the videos. Why keep quiet? It reminds me of what happened in the Oscars, Will Smith was immediately punished for hitting Chris rock on stage. This fist throw by Kano Pillars chairman is even worse than that. Kano Pillars fans will get the same impression that they can assault opponents or officials on home ground and get away with it.

Mane has left Liverpool, Salah could be next. If this happens, there will be nothing stopping Manchester City from winning the premier league. I don't think Liverpool will want to lose Mane and Salah in the same transfer window,  they don't have anyone who can replace the numbers Salah and Mane put in. It's going to affect Liverpool, Klopp wouldn't take such a risk.  I think Liverpool will come up with a plan to pacify Mo Salah. When players are close to their thirties, they are always looking for the big cheque. It's all paper talk and rumours at this point.

2044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 25, 2022, 10:00:54 PM
Brazil has won the world cup 5 times and Argentine has won the cup twice.
So winning of the Brazil are far more than other country - but than again - you never which team is lucky enough to win the title this time. Hype is all around the globe already.
This year at Qatar it will be really different. First time you play a world cup in the middle of the season. Also a lot of teams this year are all close and i think we will se a lot of surprises. For me on paper the clear favorites is France but with them you never know.
There is no doubt we are going to have first world cup going to play in Winter, and it's first World Cup which is going to hold in the Middle East which is also having big impact on all teams with conditions are completely different for most of the teams which are preparing for this mega event.

Now who is going to win it's not sure because we have some good surprises in last world cup and here we can expect some more because all teams are doing hard work for this even and on papers all have very good players which can give their best for win of this mega event as @Joca97 feeling France is hot favorite for me, they are second in list of favorite countries because I am going with Brazil and then France and Germany.

A lot of strong teams as always participating here but I think this time the World Cup will go to South America, either Brazil or Argentina with Argentina for me being the top favorite to win this event.Leo Messi and company have been in top form in all their leagues where they play so I expect a lot of beautiful football as always from Argentina as a bare minimum. After these teams I think Germany is not in top condition neither is France by judging their performance in the latest event the Nations League,so from Europe I think Spain is the team in the better shape.
It wouldn't be advisable to write off any team in this competition, Brazil and Argentina at the moment look promising and favorite to be the winners of this years world cup but anything can happen, France can even come out stronger in the end, Portugal is also there. That's the interesting thing about the world cup, each country brings their best players to represent them. The world cup is the ultimate tournament, it keeps the whole world on their toes

Rumours are flying that Rooney is leaving Derby County. I have no idea why Rooney is leaving Derby County but whatever the reasons be he would be looking and open for better opportunities. It would be good for him if he gets a club in the EPL to manage . I would love to see him coming back to  the EPL this time as a manager coaching a premier league club. I wish him good luck in his managerial career and hope to see him win trophies as a manager.

Chelsea's biggest needs are at least one defender and striker each. de Ligt is definitely a first class defender now and it would make Chelsea solid in defense again. However they lost Rudiger and Christensen both at the same time so I wonder whether there will be one more transfer to this position too. Signing a striker will be very important for them also as Lukaku is almost leaving the team to join Inter now. Havertz and Werner are decent players but their performances haven't been enough.
Chelsea at the moment, are lacking in some vital positions like in their attack and defence respectively. They have already lost some key players in this positions, losing Rudiger, Christenson and Lukaku and until now haven't being able to replace this players. Signing an attacker is very important for them because werner and Kai Havertz are not reliable. They can not depend on these two for the next campaign so they need to strengthen their attack and defence too before the next season starts.

Your selection is very interesting but i'm a bit worried about African teams because in the previous tournament they were totally failed and none of African teams who able went to round 16 at that time but i interested to see Serbia team because this team unbeatable for qualification match and finish at first position on group A above Portugal so i think they will talk more in this tournament especially they have good player such as Dušan Vlahović from Juventus or Luka Jović who currently playing for Real Madrid so in my prediction Serbia achievement for this world cup at least will went to quarterfinal

Last time the African teams struggled to adjust to the difficult weather conditions in Russia. This time that should not be a problem. And among the less fancied UEFA teams, Serbia has the momentum right now. My concern is that they have always underperformed during the world cup. Anyway, this time they are placed in a very tough group along with Brazil and Switzerland. If they are able to manage a draw against these two teams, then they can qualify to the next stage if they defeat Cameroon by a large margin.
This will be a very tough one for Serbia, they have always performed well from the group stages to knock out stages but this time they have been grouped along side Brazil and Switzerland and Cameron, currently I won't advice to write off any team at the moment, in football anything is likely to happen, an underdog can end up surprising the crowd just like how Croatia did the last time. Who knows? an African nation might win the world cup this year sadly it can't be Nigeria though.
2048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 25, 2022, 08:35:15 PM
Barcelona seem to be interested in Raheem Sterling and Jules Kounde both now. They are already chasing the Lewandowski deal for themselves so I wonder how they are planning to afford all of these three players. Because it doesn't seem very realistic to me that they can sign all of them while they are in a financial condition like this. Lewandowski must be their priority now as we have been hearing about him the most recently. As long as they don't sell a player who is worth a lot of money they shouldn't be able to allocate much fund for many transfers.

Xavi Hernandez from the time at Saudi Arabia has sight on Raheem Sterling if he finally becomes Barcelona Coach. Finally this might finally come to conclusion. One fear is that, you will rarely see an English Born player making swoop to Spanish La Liga, when was the last time you saw such a thing ? David Beckham! Right ? Sterling should be looking for a move somewhere else because he will have little game or nothing at all this time in the new season.

For Sterling, it might be good to try his luck in the second biggest league, the La Liga. They say that Real Madrid are also interested in him lately so this can make things really interesting. If Real Madrid and Barcelona fight for him Barcelona might be disadvantageous because of having financial problems. Sterling's decision is the most important thing of course and maybe he would like to play for Barcelona. His style really fits Barcelona's game plan actually but we'll see. Maybe he won't even decide to leave the country which can make Chelsea getting the advantage to sign him.
For a player like Raheem Sterling, the spanish league should be favourable for him, it fits his style of play cutting in from the wings and passing to the striker and aiming for goal but signing for Real Madrid at the moment is unlikely because Real madrid has good players and talents on both wings and even their reserves are good too so their is no vacancy for Raheem Sterling at Real madrid at the moment. I would suggest Sterling stays in the EPL and continues his career at Chelsea

Africa is the places to produce many talented players but i don't know why seems african teams always be difficult while against European teams or South American teams however regarding Serbia i think they have equal chance to Swiss went to round 16 and assume Brazil is too strong in group G and Cameroon as the underdog so they will competed with Swiss to get runner up position but indeed Swiss and Serbia has been in the same group in the previous world cup and Swiss can able to win from them at that time but i think the current world cup is different that Serbia stronger and have good chance to knockout phase
It is true that Africa is known for producing talented players, players like Drogba, Salah, Mane, Mahrez, Keita, Asamoah Gyan, etc so many more players have come from Africa and excelled the question of why african countries don't progress to semi Finals and even finals in the world cup is ome question I've always wondered on. I think one thing we really like is organisation most of these african teams are not well organized, another reason is African players registering and playing abroad for other countries, i think thats the major problem.

So far Chelsea have being very quiet in the transfer window, the fans have being complaining about their silence and inactivity in the transfer window and it looks like the new owner of the club is not a "splash the cash" type of boss and the fans are already growing angry with this development. Chelsea was/is not ready for life without their big spender Roman Ibrahomovic. If they could get De Ligt I think the fans will be really happy and he will be a good replacement for Rudiger too.

One of the reasons Bayern Munich set a high price is because Lewandowski can still show his best game even though he is 33 years old. Bayern Munich still wants to keep Lewandowski even though they have brought in Sadio Mane from Liverpool. Until now, the Lewandowski transfer process has only been a rumor, there has been no agreement between the two parties because the offer submitted by Barcelona has always been rejected by Bayern Munich. If Barcelona wants Lewandowski in their squad, the only way is to meet the price set by Bayern Munich or wait until his contract expires with Bayern.
Former Barcelona board member Toni Freixa Very unsure Barcelona will be able to bring Lewandowski to the camp nou in this summer window. He assessed that Barcelona had problems in terms of finances which made Barcelona move to bring Lewandowski an obstacle. Well, from the latest offer submitted by Barcelona, they have not succeeded in convincing Bayern Munich to release their star. In addition, Bayern hopes that Lewandowski can stay until his contract expires in 2023

As far as I know Barcelona is planning on selling some of their rights, can't recall exactly what that was about. I think some rights that entitle the buyer to their merchandise and Tv rights income or something? Anyway, it was said that that should bring about 700 million Euros. With that money, they could easily afford Lewandowksi and if that deal comes into existence, Bayern will also know about it Wink

I guess Lewandowski would be a good fit for Barcelona. Despite being a really typical offender, he also has the quality to hold, defend, and distribute the ball in a very smart and game opening way. That fits Barcelona's style well although they are already quite different from what they are used to be years ago in terms of ball possession.
The current state of the club is really bad and something needs to be done before it gets worse than it is already and they also need to bring in some fresh legs to the team in preparation for the coming season and so far we don't see selling out to get funds working for them at the moment. Whatever needs to be done whether to sell out some of their rights or players, the sale needs to be done fast to get the club back on stable financial state and finance its expenses.

Between Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, the Turin club can be a career place for Paul Pogba compared to PSG. He will be the coordinator of the midfield that has been integrated with Juventus.

Apart from that, Pogba free move to Juventus which is confirmed to be signed in early July has certainly cost Manchester United a loss since Juventus sold him 6 years ago for an expensive price (€100 million).
Yes. now pogba is back in Serie A with Juventus and as we know pogba move is quite right to return to juventus. I think pogba will help the juventus midfield next season and also be a good passer for vlahovic. We will wait for the latest news from Juventus regarding their interest in Di maria if the signing of Di maria is successful it means Juventus this season will not have to spend money to buy players because the status of the players who come are free transfers. I hope my dream come true and see pogba, Di maria, Morata and vlahovic in juventus next season.
Pogba is already familiar with Juventus. He played few seasons and kept a very good and remarkable performance and scoring goal as well. He had a poor season at Manchester United last season and will be looking to reclaim his form and reputation in Italy. A Juventus team with Vlahovic, Di maria, Morata and Pogba, it is good business being able to get these world class players together for lost cost is incredible and good business.

Tony kroos amongst other names at Real madrid has become a very important figure and player in the park, playing in the midfield role with co stars in the likes of Luka Modric and Casemiro. I wouldn't say he is too old to olay, it's his decision to retire we see players retiring at early age. Indeed he will be missed so much if he decides to retire now but Real madrid are already planning for this departures bringing in young players to fill in those positions.
2055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: June 23, 2022, 08:52:01 PM
Priority Arsenal than Manchester United with reason more playing time I think is not really good option for Gabriel Jesus. He loss chance can play on UEFA Champion League with Arsenal than Tottenham Hotspur get ticket for participating on Champion League. I think Gabriel Jesua still have chance get more playing time with Tottenham Hotspur but on right winger aide replace position from Lucas Moura and Dejan Kulusevski. Central forward will be placed for Harry Kane and Son get his regular position on right winger side.

I think the main reason of Jesus leaving City was lack of playing minutes. With a squad so dense it was evident that most of the players would not find playing minutes. I think he won't make a move to Spurs when there is already a high class striker as Kane and players already at other wing positions as it will be the same situation there, unless Conte changes formation which I find very hard. The thing is there is no guarantee while at Arsenal he can easily play as a striker with not much competition at that position.

Although I do agree that CL ticket is a huge factor and can turn things around.
I agree that champions league is a huge factor is determining his next destination but we have to also consider the reason why he is leaving and that reason happens to be for more playing time. With Haaland joining Manchester city it is almost certain that he will be playing from the bench and going to Tottenham also won't solve the issue of playing time cause Harry Kane will be ahead of him in the pecking order, in conclusion Arsenal is the best option now for playing time with Aubameyang and Lacazett already out he is sure of getting game time he wants with Arsenal.
2056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 23, 2022, 08:48:17 PM
Here is my selection - Senegal, Serbia, South Korea, Cameroon, Ghana, Wales and Australia. I am sure that one or more of these teams will feature in the semi-finals.
some big countries such as Italy ultimately could not qualify for the World Cup finals this year. finally, several countries that are considered dark horses will compete in Qatar.

I still favor Brazil for the trophy. but when it comes to dark horses, Senegal and Serbia will make it difficult for the seeded nations. Senegal will be in the opener against a strong Dutch team. we'll see how it plays out.
If Senegal can do much in their first game then I have more confidence in them in the next. Because the first match is important to increase their confidence. Moreover, they definitely want to show their best and don't want to be just a complementary country in this biggest football party. I haven't seen a country that really stands out for now. I think their strength can be said to be almost balanced.
Senegal have shown great strength and look ambitious. Lets take a look back at the African Cup of nations, they had a successful campaign in the Nations cup beating Egypt to penalties to become champions. They showed great resilience and devotions, and great team spirit. I believe they will do good this time around, winning the first game will be a boost for them.

The problem be say those politicians purposely or intentionally suffer Nigerians and subject them to abject poverty because they no say people go come out to vote for them by enticing them with big money, look at wetin happen for Ekiti State wey APC paid voters 10K and PDP 5K, they were even displaying it in public, Imagine a private school teacher wey dey earn 10K monthly see dis kind opportunity to vote and collect 10K will they turn it down NO?  they go vote am because of poverty and not minding that they don enter one chance and another round of suffer-suffer for 4 years, honestly a lot has to be done to sensitize our people against vote buying.

You r 2 much. I love dis talk. Nai make I dey caused Nigeria electorates. Dem no get sense. Nd dose pipo na di old pipo plenti pass. Me I no want talk politics again bcoz me I dey angry... Even ma fellow wey supposed understand dis things, e no dey understand interested dem go argue out of point. Nigeria Politics na moni nd di old pipo need Moni.

Me I still dey talk am say, Obi go win if he go do like MKO Abiola. If not me I doubt am ooo. Me I no need a prophet 2 come nd tell me. Politics.

Nigerian youth understand what happened in #endsars nd vote rightly. Thanks
Shebi una wan kill Peter Obi make e do like MKO Abiola abi?? You nor know how e happen for Abiola time, na six feet below e go. He followers way ginger am to declare himself winner run leave for road. Now na only for history we dey remember e name. Make we trust the electoral process this time, we go vote our man and the people favorite go win. Them no go fit deny us this one

Manchester United have missed on another star player, Malcolm Ebiowei. Crystal palace beat United in the race to bring the winger to the premier league and he has sign a long term contract with the Vieira's eagles. Ebiowei will exits his present club which is Derby County to join Crystal palace this summer and his contract is valid till June 2027. Erik is not going to be happy about this, because he needed the young player in his squad and have been on United rader for quite for some time.

Malcolm Ebiowei is indeed a target for Crystal Palace and Man United, but according to Fabrizio Romano Monaco also wants Ebiowei. But because Ebiowei
still wants to play in England, so from the start Ebiowei has rejected an offer from Monaco. But if in the end Ebiowei chose Crystal Palace over Man United,
I think it's the right decision. Moreover, Ebiowei who is 18 years old will find it difficult to penetrate the Man United main squad,  so if Ebiowei chooses
Man United it will be difficult to get playing time. While at Crystal Palace Patrick Vieira quite often provides playing opportunities for young players.
Like Marc Guehi, Tyrick Mitchell, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise are some of the young players who were given the opportunity to play by Vieira.
So if Ebiowei chooses Crystal Palace as his new team, chances are Ebiowei can get quite a lot of playing opportunities.

When it comes to signing young players, there are certain assurances that this young players look out for. One of this assurances is playing time, another is development, and winning championships. Young players are ambitious, they want to be sure they will develop and get better wherever they choose to sign for and these guys are not convinced of fitting into Ten Hag's United project. Manchester United cannot guarantee any player coming in a league trophy.

That means am not the only one who has discovered that the Super Eagles of Nigeria no longer show a winning mentality on the pitch of play. There is nothing they want to play for again. No pride to defend Nigeria's football integrity. Nothing whatsoever. They already think themselves millionaires doing the country a favour by playing. The days of Christian Chukwu, Rasheed Yekini, Daniel Omokachi, Finidi and the rest of the Atlanta 96 squad were the glory days of Nigeria football. Big footballing countries panicked to even play the Super Eagles but that is not so any more now. It does not matter the coach they bring in, the boys continue to feel too big bringing out their legs. It is the mentality of the players and that has to change. I like how Samuel Eto is sounding the warning to members of the Cameroon team that they should sit up or leave the team. And I think Nigeria should do the same.

I clearly remember the good old days. When we were excited to watch our boys play. But not anymore. Today, I don't even know why they play anymore. It's almost as if there's no patriotism or love for one's country. Maybe it's because the money has replaced patriotism. Yes, the Super Eagles used to one of the most feared teams in Africa. Little wonder why I wasn't excited when they won Sao Tome10 - 0. That game was a work over. They weren't a challenge whatsoever. I would have celebrated if it was the Black Stars they played against and scored 2 goals to nil. Who remembers the days of Obafemi Martins, Osaze Odewinge, Joseph Yobo etc
We are all aware about the recent change in super eagles performance, the super eagles team are not co-operative, the team is suffering mis-management. For the first time in history, the super eagles failed to qualify for the world cup, that's a big blow to Nigeria and Africa, cause they are known as one of the best team in Africa, and I don't think such performance is expected of them. Perhaps, I suggest they should give the new manager a little time to handle the team, since he took over from the former coach, the team have been performing excellently. Though we all know there game against Sao tome was a work over, but they performed so well in the game and they were so consistent with their play, for the first time in a long time the super eagles performed excellently.
Obviously there have being some positive changes to this super eagles side recently, from their attitude at training grounds to game days, alot have changed. The new manager made clear what he doesn't like and doesn't want to say in hos camp and so far the players are adhering to them and are showing discipline which has been lacking before. I think the team is improving and doing better now. We just have to keep the new manager time to fix things up.

What happened to Marcelo at Real Madrid happens to Dani Alves, only out of heart they will not admit these players, they are players who still have a lot to give, but the mentality of these teams that are "big" prefer to let them go and not offer them a contract if they don't prefer young players who are famous and trending at the moment, I think that is a vision that these teams have, I would appeal to hire them even so that they help advise young players, because the experience they they've had can't be put aside, and in games that are very important and difficult you need to have the mentality of these experienced players.

That's true, despite the talent and fitness of these young players it is also important to have experienced players around too to help advice the young ones and also offer coaching tips and can also come in to play in difficult games that experience is needed. Someone like Marcelo looks still fit and has energy to continue for a season or two  but won't get that opportunity because you have to sign trending and famous players
