2041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: July 08, 2023, 09:38:10 PM
Altcoins have numerous loopholes for manipulating investors to fall victim of misfortunes. Only a few of altcoins prove to be reliable, yet not trusted by multiple traders. However, altcoins generate a good amount of money for the cryptocurrency market, that rarely benefits the market, meaning that it drives potential clients away from the market. Scam projects take these money away, that could have been invested on Bitcoin, ethereum or other strong projects to help the market grow. Investors who don't research carefully about any altcoin shilled to them, are victims of altcoin scam projects. Hence, altcoins can be considered important as it yields some funds to cryptocurrency market.
2042  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The relationship between educational qualification and quality of post. on: July 08, 2023, 08:31:38 PM
Do you think the level of academic qualifications and life experience that a member of forum has, has a direct influence on the quality of post that  he/she makes here on this forum?
Do you feel users who are known to be quality posters in various boards are individuals with high educational qualifications and vast experience.

Not really, since it will all matter on their experience on cryptocurrency since not all educated person who know crypto can contribute very well in this forum in terms of posting. There are college drop outs out there can share anything they learn thru the research they do so I guess educational attainment is not so important for staying relevant on every post they made in this forum.
If a person is self educated in cryptocurrency, their posts will be top notch regardless of their writing style, grammar etc. Readers respect the knowledge found in a piece of work over the grammatical errors that follows it. A good number of forum members think the best writer make quality contents in the forum, while so others may value the information shared in the content. A person with a PHD in English, who is not vast in cryptocurrency won't make any quality content in this forum, until he dedicates time to study bitcoin. Despite his writing skills and experience, he may not be able to contribute in the terms acceptable in the community. The education qualification should be centered on cryptocurrency, then it'll be a good attribute to quality posts.

This is the reason why we cannot discriminate people which didn't finish their college since overall with this it will all matter on the passion of people. If they are so interested with cryptocurrency for sure they are the one who can contribute more even if they didn't finish college than those people who just came in because they think its easy for them to learn it since they are college graduate and smart enough to know everything about crypto in short period of time.
A new subject takes lots of time to understand and same is required of bitcoin. A school certified professional cannot respond to bitcoin questions correctly if he doesn't read about bitcoin. In such scenario a person who has been studying about bitcoin will always be accepted to speak to a crowd of people about bitcoin other than a certified professor in a different field. Everyone listens to talks from individuals that have been working on the niche for a while. Their answers will be qualified as a genuine and quality information. Which is the benefits of learning from the qualified and educated person in the bitcoin market, regardless of their certifications.

Bitcoin whales took high risks, while studying price movement in the past

Don't be fooled by someone having the courage to risk $2 million like it was all they had, because such people were rich long before Bitcoin existed - so he only risked what he could have allowed himself to lose. The man in question has worked for Goldman Sachs for 25 years and obviously knew how to recognize the opportunity for a good profit, and such people do not fall under the influence of other people who might advise them that something is a bad investment.
This situation must be understood correctly so as not to misinterpret, because he is not a poor person from the village who then buys Bitcoin when he knows him, or a worker with a freelance salary that is only enough to buy food in one month, then they save and invest it into BTC Or selling the land then invested into Bitcoin over his courage, it is a wrong scenario in understanding the situation.
$ 2 million dollars in 2013 is not a little money, if converted to the dollars today the value must be greatly increased, especially the value of inflation needs to be added, I do not know that person, but I am sure that that person is not an ordinary person, and he is a rich person.
And yes, he must have spent money to buy Bitcoin without feeling afraid of losing his money.
In 2013 two million dollars is worth about 2.6million in 2023, that 2million dollars bought him 30,000 bitcoin worth 1950000000 USD in 2021; rate 65,000, remember 2013 recorded all time low in bitcoin price. If you look at the email you'll understand he knew it was an all time low yet he invested on bitcoin. He saw it as an opportunity to purchase and hold bitcoin, if it dropped half of what it used to sell in the previous year. That means he can take it as a great time to buy it very cheap, fully sure that the price will bounce back and hit another all time high. In today's experience, if bitcoin which sold for more than 65k per one dropped down to 20k, it's a great time to purchase bitcoin as it can hit that price and bypass it again.
2044  Other / Off-topic / Re: When learning stops. on: July 08, 2023, 04:34:40 PM
I appreciate OP's idea, it works like charm and very effective in building brain power. A student that doesn't perform well in school, can dropout of school and learn a new skill, writing, coding, or design etc. When, in a year, that student resumes school,  he will outperform his expectations and that of others about him. I agree with you, if a skill is hard for the brain to comprehend at all, the person can pause it, and practice what his brain is capable of learning. Once he begins to master his new skill, It'll create the self trust and confidence that he can achieve something and anything they focus on doing. Everybody is not the same, we all learn differently.

Investing on bitcoin, doesn't require much third party validations, if they don't understand how it works, their response can destabilize your moves and ideas. Below is a CEO that purchased 30,000 bitcoin at the rate of 65$ approximately 2million dollars worth of bitcoin in 2013. I read his mail closely and understood, he didn't care about what his associates take on his decision, after doing his research he didn't hesitate about investing into bitcoin, he was sure that bitcoin will give him a good return. I've read many members complaining about being discouraged by closed friends or associates, it signifies that the person carried a low quality research on bitcoin. I don't know how the responses of his associates ended up, but he took the step with or without them. If you wish to be like them act like them.

2047  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Is It Good For Local Crypto Forum To Include Other Interest To Attract More.. on: July 07, 2023, 11:31:22 AM
It will delay the growth of the site, because it won't be focusing on a specific content. Google love sites with similar kinds of contents, it shows the site is enriched with bitcoin knowledge. I understand, you'd want uninterested crypto folks to stumble upon cryptocurrency and pick interest. It's difficult to convert the entertainment traffics into bitcoin lovers, they'll remain completely passive about crypto. Although, few people can be converted, yet the site will suffer from distractions. The growth of your site is the first priority, so any feature that can dwindle the success of the site you're building should be removed.
2048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: July 07, 2023, 11:10:48 AM
Accepting oneself and acknowledging bad habits can be difficult for many people, when it comes to being referred to as a gambling addict, responses vary among gamblers. Some may feel offended and deny their addiction, while others accept it, the fear of being stereotyped exists, however , self-awareness and acceptance are crucial for the healing proces, seeking help from therapists or support groups can assist in overcoming addiction, while otgers may stereotype or judge, it is essential to prioritize personal well-being and surround oneself with supportive individuals, each gambler's journey is unique and depends on their awareness, willingness to seek help, and support network, emphasizing empathy and understanding is crucial in the recovery process.
self-awareness has always been close to the adult mindset, that's for sure.
every gambler has different characteristics, but trying to become an adult will be much better, especially if gambling is very important. in terms of being offended when referred to as a gambling addict maybe that person has a bad mindset because of very high emotional disturbances when he becomes a gambling addict.
I fully support your statement that adult awareness and mindset can control a gambling addict.
Ofcourse unpleasant responses is meant to come from the mouths of those struggling emotionally with gambling addiction. A person may not see it disturbing that they're addicted to gambling, especially when its enjoyable to them. Calling them a gambling addict can fuel the ego of such an individual. Contrary to that, a gambler that is suffering multiple losses due to addiction will never give a pleasant response when addressed as an addict. In terms of self awareness it'll take sincere efforts and responsibility to control addiction for a suffering addict.
2049  Other / Meta / Re: Keeping old and new Topics alive on: July 07, 2023, 12:52:52 AM
New threads will always come with attention. Bitcoin is not a dormant niche, new problems, information and difficulties needs to get solved in the bitcoin community. This led to the existence of abandoned threads. Every forum under a trending niche, must have such threads. If the problem has been solved why waste more time on it. Bitcointalk members create a good number of threads everyday, and everyone's attention goes mostly to the new problems, questions or information. Most of the quality old threads still exist in the forum, if anybody want's to read about it, they can decide to look it up and study enough responses under the thread.
2050  Economy / Economics / Re: I cannot go home if I don't make a lot of money now!! on: July 07, 2023, 12:35:24 AM
No hurry in life, the problem is not the money, it's mainly focused on the kind of attitude those eating the money exhibit. Many people acquire wealth, but the folks who eat the money often don't appreciate the pains and sweat the provider is sacrificing on daily basis. Building a generational wealth doesn't take few years, it consumes decades of genuine effort. Hence, love and patience is your best tool. Delay is only dangerous to those who fear it, those who understand the benefits of an unearned delay, can't get pressured. Everything falls in place within a period and everyone should participate in arranging and organizing a better future for their loved ones. If it has gotten to handling any kind of task to win bread for the family, please, OP, that's not the only alternative, especially if you wish to build a wealth that'll endure.
2051  Other / Off-topic / Re: how to get mod jobs on any crypto platforms on: July 05, 2023, 09:25:41 PM
Getting such jobs is not difficult, but most projects would want to pay you with their tokens, which may not have been listed on any exchange. It's always as good as doing a free work. The others that pay with bitcoin is difficult to get, because the project always need experienced people to take up the position. The only method is to keep on searching until you get one, you can also take the free jobs to build portfolios for a better mod job in future. Visit crypto subreddits and freelance forums, there you can find such openings. Also keep an eye on some projects shilled on telegram and reddit, a few of them may need mods for their channel and groups. Goodluck!
2052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin's comeback on: July 05, 2023, 08:53:49 PM
When the bitcoin fees skyrocketed the use of litecoin increased, because of its zero fee feature and fast transaction time. Litecoin is a good altcoin to bitcoin, could remember most people got introduced to litecoin as a payment method to avoid the high fees of bitcoin. Since most of them never stopped using litecoin even now the fees of bitcoin transaction is normal and low, it's enough to help the price of litecoin to increase, added with the bullish price of bitcoin. Although, personally, litecoin is hard to hodl as it's always swift and fast to spend.
2053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies and Financial Crime on: July 05, 2023, 08:25:58 PM
The blockchain is meant to be traced, it's more of a database of information for the money sent and receive, I'm sure the government can use that information if they see a crime is evident. We are in the digital age already, there is no room for mistakes if the regulation is serious about fighting financial crimes.

When they caught Ross of Silkroad, they also traced a lot of users thru the transactions on the blockchain. But there are more crimes using fiat money than crypto though.
I remember reading an article stating that the use of bitcoin for crime and scam activities reduced drastically, but other tokens or altcoins are still top players for scams. Even before the institution of bitcoin, crime happened on the internet, without the internet they'll be no bitcoin or online scam, why is the issue settled on bitcoin as the player? We are well aware that bitcoin is used for transaction purposes, so if a person is not genuine they should be blamed not the means of payment. This bad publicity about bitcoin has reduced the number of investors who have genuine interest on bitcoin. And the bitcoin and financial crime tag won't be removed from people's brain anytime soon.
2054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you not hodling on: July 05, 2023, 08:11:52 PM
If financial problem is the only alternative to not hodling, it is better to spend it all. There are colossal amount of reasons why people don't hodl other than financial disputes. If bitcoin is digital money then we also need to spend to make more bitcoin. The idea of money always requires money to make more money. A person that spends bitcoin today won't end up earning the amount of bitcoin he or she earns now in future. If a person gets their pay through bitcoin then what else do you expect them to eat when they don't convert to fiat. Remember we all encourage businesses to accept bitcoin in stores and online skills, they also need to sell to improve the growth of their business. I hodl more and sell some.  Grin
2055  Economy / Economics / Re: Fix the money, Fix the world. on: July 05, 2023, 07:59:04 PM
Eh, I don’t think there is dominance by rich people. They are rich because they know how to use the money to make more money and how to utilise the man power to do so. You wouldn’t believe but rich are those who are setting up their own businesses around the world, they are hiring skilled peoples, paying them the salaries and much more. Let us not make this discussion any harder.

Yes throughout the history there had been some ups and downs. But it’s mostly win win situation. Those who understood the assignment of business they fired it up and went up in the economic point of view and those who did not well they are just crying.

I think it’s all about what is our perspective when looking at money, how we earn, what we do, how much efforts we take for the same.

The rich oppress the poor, that's not new, the world is filled with oppressors. Government and citizens, men and women, Father and Child etc nobody that doesn't feel like they're oppressed especially when love is nowhere to be found. I've gone through some of the history behind the oppressed and realized that nothing solves the problem other than love; the oppressed showing love to the oppressor. As for bitcoin, it's money and can be purchased with fiat so, Op's idea is not solid since the rich can always purchase as many bitcoin as they could, if the world finance moves towards bitcoin. The rich work so hard to keep up their businesses and they use employees to execute menial jobs and take the credit when the job is completed or accomplished.  Things only gets better if everyone focus and work towards their dreams instead of thinking of the stress they're subjected to by their master or boss whatsoever.
2056  Economy / Economics / Re: How billionaires are really affecting the economy. on: July 02, 2023, 03:17:00 PM
It's funny how people will always speak positively about the billionaires and don't think about why then do people suffer? If billionaires help improve the economy why is everything going wrong on earth? Billionaires work closely with Government officials yet they don't bother about the people or citizens or even their customers who made them the billionaires. Quite ok, they pay salaries to people, but they add no extra funds to cover for their taxes knowing that the workers will be taxed by the government. Rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer, because they keep slaving for the rich. Recently, everyone is blaming Bill gates for the outbreak of malaria in Florida, if it's true, we all know how much money he'd gather for providing the vaccines used in treating ill citizens. Everyone thinks about the front and forget completely the back side of rich people. Billionaires invest more in war and crisis than in schools, employees and well being of the people. It takes a lot to become a billionaire and that shouldn't strike the thought of poor men envying the billionaires or blaming them for their condition. The world is a collective effort of people, the poor madee the rich who they're today, the average men buy their services and patronize them everyday. Hence, without the poor men they'll be no rich man. People work hours and get paid peanuts yet blamed for not being industrious or starting their own business. We must understand that satisfaction is not guaranteed, nobody get satisfied of whatever thing they've got including the billionaires that's why, they do everything possible to maintain their position. Don't forget that the billionaires can also end up poor and broke before they die, don't see them as gods or super men, one mistake and they're gone to nothing. In a nutshell, we shouldn't claim that what OP said is not happening.
It is true that there are valid concerns regarding the actions and priorities of billionaires, but it's also important to recognize that not all billionaires behave in the same manner. Some billionaires have made positive contributions to various cases, positively impacting people's lives. It is important to maintain a balanced perspective and acknowledge the complexities and varying perspectives involved in discussions about billionaires and their influence on the world.

Of course almost all positivity got negativity as well. Similarly to the billionaires who didn't make it to the Forbes list, many of them became billionaires by hurting the economy of this world through hazardous practices. The good billionaires with the interest of the people at hand deserves accolades, but I think only a few number of them exists. Since the quest for money never ends, I always expect more billionaires that causes havoc in the economy to erupt.
2057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be intimidated on: July 02, 2023, 01:06:44 PM
I don't think anybody is forced to invest into bitcoin, if a person feels pressured by the success stories of other members, they will never make the right decisions for themselves. And it could lead them to make uncalculated decisions. Hence, your advise is valuable, but will rarely make any change for a person with high fantasies for riches and believes bitcoin will take him there in a short period. It's not intimidation, I think such people impose it on themselves and were not able to control their desperation to earn big through bitcoin. Such people, after selling properties, also add bad PR to bitcoin, if their weirdest dreams didn't come through. As a good number of pressured investors don't hold for a long time.

at the end of the day, remember that it is yourself that has the final say to what you will do with your funds. you can read about other opinions and unsolicited suggestions, but you need to be firm about your decision as this may influence your financial stability if you made wrong choices.
i understand, a lot wants to earn big money on this market, however, they will soon understand that there's more to this than meets the eye in this market, once they are losing some of their investments.

For those who rushed into the market, it'll take them some time to realize the truth, especially the ones who don't research or read about the ups and down of bitcoin market. On the contrary many who found themselves in a plunging market may not take the responsibility, they'll always blame it on bitcoin, also discouraging genuine people from investing into bitcoin. Hence, the money belongs to them but they need not to feel pressured or in a hurry to utilize it in a way they're not sure about.
2058  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk; a school on its own. on: July 02, 2023, 12:41:02 PM
Bitcointalk is indeed a better place to build new networks of people and learn different things everyday in the cryptocurrency space. Do we pay a tuition fee here? I think its different from a school, the education we get here is exceptional, as we learn through individual efforts and also practice what we've learnt here, it helps to cement the ideas on our brain. The forum has histories or stories like any school, we have threads to point back and reflect on, which helps us to recall that many prominent bitcoin users once used this platform.

I know something led to this post, Op must have seen threads where people simplified searches and inserted thread links to some specific topics that'll help newbies learn faster with no much hassles. I've seen multiple compilation of useful threads, but as a result, what OP is asking doesn't add up because the boards are simplified  and well explained already. I suggest that newbies should get familiar with the different boards; it'll help them know where to fix a post.
