2041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: September 15, 2016, 06:32:42 PM
I would love to be rich and gamble for the sake of gambling like the famous and rich gamblers like Dan Bilzerian and Floyd Mayweather do. Just gambling for the adrenaline rush and to show off in front of people. It's narcissistic as hell and pretty stupid I'll admit that, but what fun thing to do isn't.
2042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 203 Miocic vs. Overeem on: September 15, 2016, 06:22:30 PM
Cross-disciplines (if you can call WWE a discipline) always make tons of views. I personally would like to see McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather, I don't care if it's MMA or a Boxing match since I like both. People call those type of events freakshows or stupid but they are entertainment, and this one would be actually great unlike some WWE guy with no training going MMA.
Not sure which Wrestlemania is that but Floyd Mayweather appeared in one of Wrestlemania going against the Big Show. It sure did generate interest to the paying public and no wonder McTapper tried to generate hype as well by announcing a plan to fight Mayweather. Its all about the money.

Floyd Mayweather is an excellent businessman and knows the McGregor fight is a great deal. It will be a walk in the park for him in a boxing match. It can generate tons of money, so with the right offer it will happen. I know that I will bet a win for Mayweather and make some money myself too. I think Mayweather has one fight in him again before true retirement because he wants to hit the nice 50-0 record, this could be it.
2043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Vs Bitcoin – what’s the difference? on: September 15, 2016, 06:01:27 PM
ethereum it's not a revolution, because it is based on what bitcoin is based too and other altcoin also are based on, which is the blockchain, until you change this, you can not call any coin a revolution, i see them as a clone

Indeed. Bitcoin is the real revolution. Everything else is derivative. Sure, Ethereum is cool, but what Ethereum does, can be done under a Bitcoin sidechain, and in fact it will (see Rootstock).

The idea of a TC computer is still a bad idea in my book, that's why I just can't fully trust Ethereum, I think some day some sort of huge bug will be found, you never know with TC. On the other hand, Bitcoin is simpler, and thanks to this, robust as a rock.
2044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making Bitcoin Fully anonymous ? on: September 15, 2016, 05:29:27 PM
For now we have mixers which is not much, also coin control to better control your in and outs. Other than that, we are stuck with what we have really. Let's hope that the good work of the likes of Gmaxwell continue in the direction of making Bitcoin actually digital cash as its described on the whitepaper. There are efforts in this direction being done with Confidential Transactions and Mimblewimble, look it up.

I would not opt for 100% anonymous... I think Satoshi made it Pseudo anonymous for a reason.. that reason being, that it would give you

some degree of financial security, otherwise nobody would be using it, if everyone could track your tx's. A 100% anonymous technology

would create a scammers paradise and the filth of the world would be drawn to it, like flies to shit. If someone use Bitcoin to finance a

bomb to blow up a stadium full of people, I want the authorities to track down those shitheads and justice must be served. Normal law

abiding citizens must be left alone, to have the same degree of financial privacy as they have with cash.  Wink

Unfortunately, you can't choose. You either have anonymous technology or you don't. If you can make an exception to track people down, then it isn't anonymous.

Satoshi said "digital cash", and we are far from being digital cash since Bitcoin is not fungible.

Optionally sending anonymous transactions in an easy way would be great. As of right now it's ridiculous. If you are accepting donations for example, everyone knows how much money people is donating to you which is just silly unless it's for a social project or something.
2045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop fuckin' around, fork the son-of-a-bitch already. on: September 15, 2016, 04:35:45 PM
Moron.  Unmitigated, complete moron.

Go ahead, bury your head in the sand.  That is the normal response from morons who don't want to see anything other than their own stupid ideas on matters.
False. I'm very open to ideas, this one is just idiotic. It is you who's the ignorant fool trying to push through a catastrophic ideology.
That you simply declare my idea idiotic does nothing at all to prove that it is.  If you can't mention why it is, then it surely isn't.

Fork is not dangerous.  Fork is good.
So breaking the whole network infrastructure is good? Sure, let's all vote today and fork it in 28 days. If you can't update your custom implementations in that time-frame, you shouldn't even be a part of the ecosystem. All praise the amazing fork! Roll Eyes
Fork does not 'break the whole network infrastructure'.  This is just pure nonsense.

Fork is an opportunity for everyone to vote.
Again, there are several proposals. The problem is that nobody sane wants them.
Sane people are not allow to say whether they want them or not because Greg Maxwell has foreclosed their ability to vote by preventing a fork based on his lack of consensus - about 6 people from Blockstream.  If sane people were allowed to vote - we would have switched to 8MB long ago

Preventing a fork is Greg Maxwell's way to assure Blockstream will soon be forcing everyone to pay 'sidechain fees'.
This is just pure bullshit. Nobody will be forced to pay "sidechain fees".
You are quite confused.  I don't understand why you think Blockstream won't be charging their side chain access fees.  You must be a sucker to believe that nonsense.

Isn't it interesting how people would sacrifice the intrinsic blockchain values inherent to Bitcoin, just in an attempt to gain a wider user-base, i.e. bigger market capitalization, i.e. more money?
It is you that sacrifices blockchain values when you prevent the fork.  Satoshi wants the masses to choose which is the correct path.  This is essentially a fork.  Satoshi didn't say Greg Maxwell and Blockstream should decide the correct path.  You have a choice: let Greg decide what changes we need, or allow the fork.  The fork is how we vote.  A fork is a proposal of two choices (or more) and people get to join whichever they prefer.  Greg Maxwell says no fork, I'll decide what is right and correct.  What kind of a sheep are you that you decide to let Blockstream dictate all the changes?

Actually, satoshi said that after version 0.1 or so, the software would start becoming solidified and any alternatives to the "official software" would be a disaster, so it means that if satoshi was around he would be working on Core and rejecting hard fork attempts such as XT, Classic or whatever else is there.

Core is doing a good job, staying conservative is key. The 2MB block size will eventually come when it's the right time.
2046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixer or anonymous altcoin(xmr, dash), which is more anonymous? on: September 15, 2016, 04:29:28 PM
I haven't used mixers much but I think they can give you a reasonable amount of privacy. There's one called Helix that will give you untainted coins and works under Tor. Use that and should be anonymous enough. XMR and Dash don't have enough volume, but are more anonymous, or at least XMR is, im not sure about Dash.

In the future I hope Bitcoin can be more anonymous and easier to use anonymously.
2047  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where do Bitcointalk members invest besides cryptocurrencies? on: September 15, 2016, 04:20:01 PM
ICO means "Initial Coin Offer", this would enter inside the category of cryptocurrency investments.

Anyway, as far as myself goes, I don't invest in anything outside the crypto circuit. I used to invest in forex, but I got tired and now I focus on crypto only. Lots of opportunities to get rich.
2048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 203 Miocic vs. Overeem on: September 14, 2016, 02:45:45 PM

Wasn't Brock Lesnar found to be cheating with drugs on UFC200 against Mark Hunt? what a disappointment.

CM Punk rushed his attack too much. He went straight to the guy, I guess hoping for a lucky KO or something.
Just like what Brandon Vera said, the pay that UFC gave to those punks are like a spit to the face of the MMA fighter. They were tapped to draw crowd and increase PPV and here they are one caught by USADA and one guy who throw only 1 punch and cashed in half a million dollars.

At the end of the day, it does not matter, like it or not, it's all a business and WWE moves millions of dollars, those guys have millions of fans, which means that Dana White is going to make tons of money with those fights. So why not? Clearly people want to see it because they tune in, so from time to time it's fun to see those guys fight real fighters.
2049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Girls also gamble? on: September 14, 2016, 02:20:54 PM
THe gambling that girls do is usually extremely casual and not serious gambling. Young girls gamble in vegas sometimes, but there are lots of old ladies addicted to slot machines in vegas with those big cups full of coins, it's hilarious.
2050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 203 Miocic vs. Overeem on: September 14, 2016, 12:56:38 PM

Yeah, it's too late, but if he wants to do it, why not? He will keep making a ton of money every time he fights because people always want to see an WWE fighter in a real fighter. He has all the money needed to hire the best trainers in the world and the best gyms, and if he has the motivation, he can at least try to fight and survive a couple of rounds and keep making money.

look at the stock of Gall now,he now things that he could be undefeated and started calling out fights.he is a legit brown belt BJJ practitioner and Punk rolled just like purple belt when he took him down. He can hire the best trainers but how fast he could pick up the BJJ techniques is the big question mark.It all depends upon who his next opponent is going to be,if he gets a boxer then it might be a different story
You cant blame the fighters to call out someone like what Gall did, it his way to hype his name, to get attention, if they dont do that and just win every match then they will not be remembered by the fans. Just look at McTapper, he lost but his still known and remembered by fans. Look at Lesnar, last few fights before his comeback UFC 200 he lost but still a crown drawer.

Wasn't Brock Lesnar found to be cheating with drugs on UFC200 against Mark Hunt? what a disappointment.

CM Punk rushed his attack too much. He went straight to the guy, I guess hoping for a lucky KO or something.
2051  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = 100.000 to 1 million is a possibility in 2035 on: September 14, 2016, 12:40:53 PM
I think it's impossible, it's really overpriced and even reach $50,000 it's also impossible.

Are you sure? There is not enough coins for everybody.

Good pic to sum it. 1% is easily achievable in the next years. 10% also if it gains traction. 100%? Im not sure about that. That's what humanity should do (move to a superior technology like bitcoin eventually) but it will take many years, not sure if we will see that. But we will see 50-100k for sure.
2052  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: September 14, 2016, 12:31:00 PM
Every new day is a step closer to the unevitable dollar collapse, so just wait and relax as shit hits the fan. Once it does, Bitcoin will be worth millions of dollars. Buy a jet and leave to some private island, bought with a couple of BTC as the final crisis goes on.
2053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: one reason why bitcoin will not surpass fiat on: September 14, 2016, 12:26:21 PM
we hear about cool and new bitcoin ideas every day and also how these ideas will improve the standing of bitcoin. a cool feature that makes it better than fiat.
i want to talk about one such feature. bitcoin can reduce the trust we need when money is involved. let us say i want to bet a friend of mine and to make sure we pay after the bet is resolved we use a smart contract.
this sounds fine and reduces the trust needed.
but in fact we just shifted the trust to the coder who made the smart contract. sure we could verify the code, but how many people can do this (remember the DAO)? my mother can certainly not.
so in order to make smart contracts a big point for bitcoin we will need generations and maybe even have some sort of basic smart contracts training in schools. so this is not very likely.
even today nobody reads the fine print and just trusts that everything will work out fine (most people think they can sue to get the money back is something fishy happens). but all we need with smart contracts is just one misspelled letter and the money can be lost without recovery.
people are dumb, so fiat works just fine for them. bitcoin might be to advanced for people to really go mainstream without destroying many peoples lives, because they made a small mistake or trusted the wrong code/people.

can we solve this problem? should we get used to the losses? or is this one of the reasons bitcoin will never go mainstream?

Bitcoin will not go fully mainstream in the developed world until governments ban cash, because then and only then people will see the magic and value of bitcoin. Until then, we are the pioneers of this thing. Poor unbanked countries will maybe jump on bitcoin before the developed world does.
It will keep growing as a better gold anyway. Also smart contracts in the bitcoin will be solid and very simple, none of that ETH/DAO bullshit.
2054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of Bitcoin's Biggest Miners is Launching a Second Pool on: September 14, 2016, 12:17:49 PM
As if running the third-largest bitcoin mining pool wasn't enough, China-based Bitmain announced the launch of its second mining pool yesterday.

Unlike the other large mining pools, though, the new offering (launched through its subsidiary BTC.com) will be open sourced to its community of users. According to Bitmain, the pool is not meant as a replacement for its popular Antpool platform (which has roughly 13% of the network's market share) but rather to enhance the stability of the bitcoin network.

In interview, Nisthant Sharma, international marketing manager at Bitmain, explained that the goal is to use this software to "promote decentralization of the bitcoin mining network".

More @ http://bitts.in/Vh4f

We need more McAffees in the west, rich people that can afford to start mining business outside of china to compete against the chinamen who are getting all the hashpower due the cheap costs. We need competition outside of china.
2055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How if everyone cheat the Blockchain? on: September 14, 2016, 12:15:01 PM
How do you pretend that "everyone is going to cheat the blockchain"? In order to do any relevant changes you need control of 51%+ of the network, this is already hard to do, now you explain me how everyone is going to perform a 51% attack? this makes no sense sorry.
2056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling loses and wins on: September 13, 2016, 02:17:28 PM
It's easy to get brutal loses in the rolling machines and dice. When stacking wins on a lucky row, you get really greedy and start wanting more and more, and this leads to ending up with 0.
2057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 203 Miocic vs. Overeem on: September 13, 2016, 12:53:20 PM
What about the boring fight of Werdum and Browne? Man I almost fall asleep wIting for someone to get knock out or tap out. Werdum opens round 1 with a flying kick hitting Brown in the face. Browne avoids to go down with Werdum. You can hear the crowd shouting boos in all 3 rounds. Browne doesnt look like he is prepared for this fight as he only wants to stand up and slug it out with Werdum.

I thought it was pretty exciting. Sure the last rounds were a bit boring, but so were the last rounds of the Connor McGregor vs Nate Dias fight, why? well simple, most fighters start to gas out at the last rounds, specially if you are a heavyweight that starts out with flying kicks and shit, also the other guy had a busted finger (the fight should have been stopped). it was an unfortunate fight.
Yes I understand that part that they will lose gas as they enter 2nd and 3rd round. What I don't like is that they seem like both are waiting for someone to commit a mistake so they can take advantage and do the kill. Both are just dancing all over the octagon. There was even a time that Werdum is down and waiting for Browne to make a follow up punch but Browne did not do so as it maybe a trap that Werdum planned to so he can apply his BJJ skills.

No one his right mind would go on the floor with Werdum willingly. Werdum has probably the best skills ever on UFC when it comes to ground game. Also, don't forget that the guy had a fucked up finger. The athletic commission should have stopped the fight. The guy can potentially miss the finger now and his career will get ruined since I can imagine fighting without a finger is really annoying.
2058  Economy / Speculation / Re: Keep or sell? on: September 13, 2016, 12:44:45 PM
Keep holding on. If you go to the all time graph you will see that we are only going up since January 2015 when we hit that really low bottom at 150 ish dollars. We will never see that price ever again. The uptrend continues and we are now marching towards the new ATH.
2059  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: September 13, 2016, 12:37:47 PM
Once the governments remove cash, they will start passing laws against gold, so you will get your gold stolen as you try to cross a border or as you try to pick up a plane or something. Then the idiots that didn't buy bitcoin and learn how to use it, will regret not doing so.
2060  Economy / Economics / Re: My blog “Why Governments Want a Central Bank-Issued Digital Currency” on: September 13, 2016, 12:26:40 PM
It's very simple. They see what's coming with bitcoin, and they don't like it since bitcoin delivers freedom, so they want to launch their own centralized, closed source currency while banning bitcoin so everyone gets trapped in the controlled network of "governmentcoin".
