2041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox AML/KYC Process Explained on: June 08, 2012, 11:07:42 PM
Why do AML/KYC?

Mt.Gox handles both Bitcoin and fiat currency (Dollars, Euros, etc.) As a result, we are bound by the laws of Japan and America, along with various international regulations which cover the fiat side of our business. Very similar to how a bank in most countries must be regulated to ensure they are not facilitating money laundering, terrorist financing or the like, we are obliged to follow the same rules.

Oh please enough with the state propaganda bullshit.

Why don't you tell it like it really is. You are not obliged, you are forced under threat of violence to gather information about your customers so that governments around the world can control what your customer's money is being used for. "Money laundering, terrorist financing or the like" are victimless crimes the state invented as a way to gain even more control over the people they assert their rule over.

You can't imagine the angry thoughts that go through my mind when I read bs propaganda like this, I'm pretty sure if they already tried to attack people for thought crime I'd get the capital punishment.  Angry
You can't imagine the angry thoughts that go through my mind when I read this bullshit libertarian and anarchistic off-topic propaganda.
just because you a little afraid kid, paranoid about the big bad government, that is actually trying to make you safe and comfortable, you don't have to spray your fuck system shit around this forum at all time.

+1

Some people on this forum are truly paranoid about anything government related...

People are in fantasy-land thinking that "this" was not the eventual outcome.  People need to be realistic and think about the risk 3rd parties take, when they convert you cash in a credit so you can use there service.  If you think you can do better, design a system and operate it and see what happens.   I would be concerned more if a service like Dwolla or Mt. Gox didn't ask for this.

Did anyone notice they removed that current difficulty you are mining at (pool luck aka variance).   I really enjoyed seeing that, any reason why it was removed?
2043  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] N33D W33D MMJ Growing Op on: June 07, 2012, 04:41:23 PM
if this "IPO" getting listed
wouldn't .COM domain in this case glbse.com being under US jurisdiction while facilitating illegal OP be subject to domain seizure at the very least?

This is a good point, I almost forgot about the ICANN changes in 2010.  They could use ICE to seize the domain.
2044  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] N33D W33D MMJ Growing Op on: June 07, 2012, 04:00:59 PM
Despite the fact I personally find nothing wrong with weed financing an illegal grow op is a dumb idea especially in the US knowing how retarded the people with guns are there.

A version of glbse behind tor or on i2p for silk road related listings is another matter  Wink

I don't advocate it but your private business is your own.  We are the flagship community here so we do represent something here so we need to assume that people are monitoring the direction we are trying to take things.   Common sense is what we all need to use, not just personal gain but what gains for us all, its already going to be a hard road, lets not make it even harder.

I dealt with the same issue basically, you sure are going to be glad, hopefully.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=84709.0

Also I am using 12.3 and AB 2.1.1.   Uninstall everything, reboot then install the drivers then AB, then follow the process on the link above and you should be able to get them running.  I am getting like 1.4 G/Hash for two.
2047  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7x 7970's, PCI-E 16x-connected cards not working on: June 07, 2012, 06:29:53 AM
Some motherboards only let you use a certain number or configuration of slots.

IE, on one of my motherboards, I can use the top one of the two x16 slots and the 3 x1 slots, or both the x16 slots but none of the x1 slots.

This should be stated in the manual, so check there first.

This sounds like your answer in short.   Your saying the ones that previously didn't operate, do and the ones the worked before are now non-functioning?   Is this correct?

Subbed.   I am excited to see this as well.   A nice dedicated mobile terminal would be great.

Will it have network capabilities?
2049  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] N33D W33D MMJ Growing Op on: June 07, 2012, 01:22:45 AM

Ask yourself, do I really sound like I have "half" a brain?

you sound like a statist who wants to push your ideals onto everyone else, even when you're in the minority. For most people, being affiliated with marijuana isn't a bad thing.

Definition of Statist:  The practice or doctrine of giving a centralized government control over economic planning and policy.

Can you tell me how the half-brain idiot is a statist when if anything I have given solid advice about PR and how it has been affecting Bitcoin.  I have advocated that we refrain from activites that would get vital parts of Bitcoin's emerging economy shut-down or regulated so hard it would have to go underground and then that would bar many type of funds that could really help the community.

If you want to talk about ideas that is another discussion, it would be much more personal liberty.   But to say we want a fully unregulated markets tells me you want a place where its easy to find a mark and rip them off (stick em up).  We already have regulation in Bitcoin through the proof of work system, block-chain and Web of Trust along with this community.

People can do what they want, I just want to give a perspective and my recommendation on these activities.  This is all our community and it is up to what we make it, I want something truly revolutionary but I know that if it will ever get to that level, it will need majority support and if people endorse this type of activity then you are painting it into a certain corner where the powers that be will make it AS DIFFICULT as possible to do anything and many people will give up because the "games ceases to be worth the candle".

2050  Economy / Securities / Re: [WTB] 1000 BTC Contract for difference (I'm taking the short position) on: June 06, 2012, 10:26:16 PM
Deal (for 1000 BTC) was completed with teek, with O=5.432.

Congratulations and thank you for even being nice enough to tell us the price so we can see what it was pegged at.
2051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin coexist with other cryptocurrencies? on: June 06, 2012, 10:24:29 PM
I want to see if we can just get Bitcoin to survive the next 5-10 years.
2052  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7970!!!!!!! on: June 06, 2012, 09:24:12 PM
now where are we going to find power supplies with enough 8pin connectors!
If you put 4 of these in a mining rig, you need 12 8pin connectors!

Try:

Or:

Two PC Power & Cooling 950w looks to be the best value if two PSUs will work for you.   I use one and it works like a champ.

Yeah, I did down clock quite a bit.   I'll research and try and other people settings that have claim stability.     Regardless I just remote access my box and reboot CG.    Thanks
2054  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Anyone getting this: [CGMiner] Error -6 (Command Queue) on (2) 7970? on: June 06, 2012, 07:48:53 PM
Has anyone gotten - Error -6 (trying to establish Command Queue), what happens it that is drops GPU1 and it says DEAD under the mega-hash performance and I only get output from GPU0.   Even it I try, restart GPU, it doesn't work.  I have to quit and then open CGminer again and that gets it back up.  It seems to happen every 36 hours or so.

2055  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PCI and PCI-E Cable Questions on: June 06, 2012, 07:45:19 PM
BTW, I think you have this board

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157262

in which case you don't need the pci to pcie adapter for a fourth card - just a x1 connector (or two if you need to chain them). If so, just get one of these

http://www.amazon.com/BestDealUSA-Ribbon-Extension-Extender-Adapter/dp/B006DQRUZ8/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1339004716&sr=1-4

and one of these

http://www.amazon.com/BestDealUSA-Quality-PCI-E-Extender-Ribbon/dp/B0067WZH2Q/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1339004716&sr=1-3

I got a x16 from BestDealUSA, and the quality is decent.

I do and your the man!!!!!!   That is exactly what I am looking for.   Once we get things going, you are getting a tip.  Please privately msg me an address.  Thanks.
2056  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / PCI and PCI-E Cable Questions on: June 06, 2012, 05:19:58 PM
Hello,

Here is what I am doing.    I need a link to either Amazon.com, Cablesarus or Newegg for the product (please).     First I need a good PCI extender (adding another 7970), then I need a good PCI to PCI-E adapter so I can mount this card.

Also I need the longest PCI-E extender cable as well so I can add a 4th 7970.    I have found many options, but I know this forum as a ton of wisdom and the recommendations I have gotten to this point have been top notch.

Thank you so much!!

2057  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7970!!!!!!! on: June 06, 2012, 05:11:03 PM
We need to get our hands on one so we can get some output data.   Any mention of price?   I didn't see any in that article.

2058  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] N33D W33D MMJ Growing Op on: June 06, 2012, 05:03:31 PM
I support this effort 100% and would hope that Nefario would too.

The whole reason for bitcoins is to have a completely unregulated free market - regulations be damned.

The retards who post that it will make bitcoin look bad aren't even worth responding to. These are the same idiots who think that the news is telling some truth apparently. If these people had half a brain, they would realize that bitcoin is designed to succeed in spite of negative propaganda anyway. In fact, there really isn't a such thing as "bad press" for bitcoin. Any press is good.

My bet is, that a msm story about a bitcoin marijuana company on the bitcoin stock exchange would draw a lot of interest to the GLBSE.

Besides, marijuana is good for you and a plant, part of nature,  that we all have the natural right to put in our own bodies. Anyone who says otherwise is an ignorant a$$hole and should F**k off.

Sorry to inform you, any press is not good press.   Again, here we have an example of another person living in unregulated "fantasy-land".   I guess I am this "retard" and "idiot" that believes bitcoin DOES suffer from an image problem and thinks that this press would just yet again reinforce it. BUT THIS TIME IT WOULD BE COMING HOME, to our forums.

Then he follows up with this "dime" about how it would be good press for the exchange. - not even worth responding too

Lastly, we finally get the pay-off.   Another political statement in the "Pro" column for marijuana (if you must know, I do believe it has medical benefits).   Atleast your username is "cryptoanarchist", so your staying true to character.

P.S. I love this line the most  "If these people had half a brain, they would realize that bitcoin is designed to succeed in spite of negative propaganda anyway. In fact, there really isn't a such thing as "bad press" for bitcoin. Any press is good. "

Ask yourself, do I really sound like I have "half" a brain?

I sure hope not.
