This is wonderful news! Now they need to drop their pricing and shipping times to get us small guys up to speed.

I have no idea what price allows them a profit.

But a moq of 2.  Would help a lot.

The corsairs are due on Monday my guess is under 1295 watts since it is a titanium

doing the low power setting

gets 13.8th to 14.1 th at 1326 watts

here is a youtube video https://youtu.be/K_ksMluPUZI

this is subject to change  but it means

1326/13800

0.0961 watts a gh = king of efficiency.

this is improving  not getting worse  hash has drifted up  to 14.5  and still 1326 watts

1326/14500

now 0.0914 watts  the king  if it holds on

and a corsair 1500 watt

a evga 1600 g2 p2 or t2 will do this unit

Will do testing tomorrow with a cosair Ax1500i  at 120 volts  and at 240 volts.

So the new firmware rocks.
20403  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Reviewing the Halong Mining DragonMint T1, a 10nm SHA-256 Miner on: April 15, 2018, 07:14:20 PM
Yeah  safari  is dying  fuck apple.

I have to stop using it and move over about 100 passwords to chrome.

This software  will be nice if I settle in with easy  watts for pdu's  1400 watts  or lower works really well

@xdrpx

The  T1 board uses the exact same heatsinks as the s-9.

The board is a bit different in layout.

the efficient setting  lowers fans to 60%  in an 85 f garage

noise becomes okay.

still tuning, but  this firmware looks like a winner for me on low hash setting.

It rocks at  efficiency setting

13.85 -13.90
1325 watts

I have had some trouble  getting it working.

Note to self stop  using Apple safari Angry

Works fine with Apple - Chrome- Yosemite.

I am tuning low power efficient  setting with this miner

http://ckpool.org/users/1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

looks like power dropped at least 200 watts  to 1400

still waiting on true hash rates  but 1400 watts x 4 = 5600 watts which means it will be able to allow 4 units on a 30 amp pdu.

It would be nice to see it do 14250gh at 1400 watts

Note I say this because I was looking to support ck.'s pool and don't mind mining with his pool first and slush second.
If you really want pool choice the T1 is limited .

My partner buysolar should be landing in China in 2 hours time to meet up with Avalon/Canaan  We will be using some of their gear very soon.

The Avalon 841 could prove to be a little better then any of the three in question.

Phil, you do some really great work for this community!!! Thanks for supporting -ck's Pool like you said you would, by aiming your
Dragonmint there. You are literally the first person I've seen, during this release, show support for -ck's Pool. This past week was the
first time I saw Hangolin's PR mention -ck. Just a small head nod towards his programming skills, but no mention what-so-ever,
about his pool's ability to run the Dragonmint.

Goodluck to yours and buysolar's venture with Canaan. The 841's I have are very stable, and actually work as Advertised.  Wink

When I was a kid  it was Ford, GM and Chrysler

So with  this gear  If it is Bitmain, Avalon/Canaan, Halong/Innosilicon.  I can work with it.

Things I like  about the T1  it will be software clock-able  So jury is still out  but I am hopeful that the low power choice does 1300 and 14th.

To those not mining at -ck's pool    why the fuck not?    I know variance.  So point 1 of every 5 of your miners.

5 T1's

1 T1

http://ckpool.org/users/1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

this one is in my garage on first firmware upgrade
pulls 1608 watts 15.42th hash rate

https://i.imgur.com/awfzwv1.png

1608/15420 = 0.10428 watts a gh at kwatt meter

tomorrow I get 2 of these psu's

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Power/Plug-Type/axi-series-config/p/CP-9020057-NA

I will hook the two up the my 1 Ti in house.

Use one with 2 boards and one with 1 board and the controller.   see what It drops to.

As a second point with this psu.  I got mine on sale refurb for 250 each.

If -ck is correct  and the low power setting is 1300 watts at the wall then one of these  will run  the T1  on 120 volts.

which for USA buyers  means something.
20409  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Bitmain 450$, 420$ & 400$ Coupons on: April 15, 2018, 03:11:32 AM
still available for $450/420?

He sold all of them.

Note I tagged you for begging for a coupon from me the same day you  joined the forum.

Plus you had never made a post.  your post here was made hours after you asked me for a coupon.

I simply want people to know what you did.

As there has been more then 1 coupon scammer floating around.

To Join a forum not post and beg me for a coupon is not trustworthy.

If you had simply had a few posts and waited a day or two to ask you most likely would have received a few from me.

ok...my bad.....good to know...but yeah...what I was shooting for...all and all ....oranges to oranges between models and companies

" a little better then the S-9"

that clears up how this all shook out

thanks

Ah, but Phil...did they not 'get you' on electricity with the DragonMint units? or is Innsilicon units less of a risk of not meeting spec?

(just saying...not a slam...from what I've seen on this thread)

brad

Please don't count me  with other buyers.   I have yet to be billed.

I have 5x T1's and 1x B52

I have stated  on the forum I have yet to be billed.  So I can't say I hate anyone.  From their company.

I have stated  early buyers got hurt.  I also told everyone don't buy until I get get and give results.

Results are  showing it is most likely  a little better then the s-9.

Yes it's under 1400W, and a lot quieter too. It will depend on where the most efficient hash/power curve ends up on the device but on the hardware I've tested it on so far it usually ends up around 1300W. So if some are higher power, they should be offset by lower power ones too. I'm talking about power at the wall this time.

good   this will allow 4 units on  a 30 amp pdu.

please post link  for firmware when you can.

I just drove over to the solar array and did

firmware update #1

firmware update #2  should be great  looking forward to it.

.....

.....
Here's a performance tab teaser they said they're working on:

this firmware  would make the gear  pretty good for me

this would be 4 speed choices

1 Off the miner will work with the factory default values
2 Efficiency the miner will use less power but the hash rate will be lower
3 Balanced default value to achieve balanced hash rate and power consumption
4 Performance high hash rate and high power consumption

if Efficiency  does  14th at 1375 watts  this is a good miner  for my purposes.

4 x 1375 = 5500 watts   and that means 4 units per pdu

Since I have 5 circuits of 30 amps  I can do 20 units.

the gear now pulls 1640 watts  which is 3 x 1640 = 4920   4 x  1640 = 6560

this means 3 units per pdu  and say an L3+

I hope this gets done soon.
And I hope the
2. Efficiency is in the 1400 watt range.

There currently are no firmware updates published on the website, however, Halong's Telegram (https://t.me/dragonmint)
published one for the T1 here:
https://download.halongmining.com/files/t1/t1_20180409_010732.swu

Hi,

Does the dragonmint T1 new firmware offer any improvements in hashing speed, or was it to update a different issue?

Thanks!

It  gives better graphics

maybe a little better power draw.
maybe a little better hash.

say  1650 watts at k-watt meter
say  15540 gh

vs
1679 watts
15300 gh

this particular unit  is the one I tested  on old firmware with 3 psu's

I need to  check  power again

i am now at

1640 watts
15540 hash

0.1055 watts a gh

20416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: April 14, 2018, 11:44:42 AM
So, the crypto market has seen a nice spike upward over the past 24-36 hours that includes most of the coins that I own/mine. Notably absent from that group was RVN. Its value has remained flat. Do you any of you veterans have any speculation on why this is? Is it just the relative obscurity of this coin?

It is soooo very new  think months not days.

I mined 11000 of them.

I sold 6000 and will do a  long hold on 5000 of them

The 5000 are in a core wallet.

I will revisit them  on June 1 ,2018  if they went from 0.00000555 to 0.00001111 I will sell 1000 of them
I will then revisit them Aug 1 ,2018  if I did the early sale at 0.00001111 and they are now 0.00002222 I will sell 1000 of them.

I would  with luck and over time make sales of 1000 coins at

0.00001111
0.00002222
0.00004444
0.00008888

I would hold the last 1000 for a longer time  till  it reached.

0.00022222   then sell 500

and hold the last 500 even longer.

Since I sold 6000 at about 0.00000580 = 0.0348 btc  which is held as btc and now worth 280 usd

I paid about 100 in power So I am up 180 usd and holding the 5000 coins in a wallet.

I can think longer term.
20417  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 with no Fans on: April 14, 2018, 12:42:08 AM
Hey all, I've googled this and found a few responses, but not one that has a solid answer on this question, so here is my scenario and question.

We are looking at ordering just over 2000 S9s. We want to place them in mineral oil, and we want to remove the fans or at the very least have them not running. I believe the way that the firmware is setup, the unit won't run without fans. I have read that there may be a way to trick the unit into thinking its attached to a fan by rejigging one of the cables that is plugged into and powers the fans, but comments have been made highlighting that the unit will still want to draw the same amount of power, despite not powering the supposed fans.

A really creative answer was to cut the blades of the fan off, but again, still drawing power to spin the fans, so that is not optimal.

What I'm looking at is a way to either:
a) run the S9 without fans and without taking that additional power that the fans draw.
or
b) run the S9 with the fans, but disable them so they don't take the additional power that they draw.

Is this possible and if so how?

Would much appreciate your advice and input on the matter.

The solution for you is worth money.

If you are building a 2000 rig setup offer a bounty for the answer to this problem.
20418  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: April 13, 2018, 10:28:45 PM

At the wall power consumption of with DragonMint 1600W PSU and dual fans 1480W @ 240V at ambient temperature 25°C. Variation of ±8% is expected.

To be fair 1480w + 8% is 1598.4w

What I find a bit scary is they are selling these with 1600w power supplies and putting 100% load on them. That sounds like a real bad idea.

every one of my six is at 1610 to 1679

all over +8%

every  miner is about 15.4  not 16.0

that is -3.75%

so  it is off close to 12%.

frankly I can live  with the 15.4t  vs 16.0t

but the  1610 watts to 1679 watts  vs  1480 watts is an issue.

all my circuits are 30 amp about 238 volts  that is 7140 watts x 80% = 5712  watts

4 x  1480 = 5920 watts  that is  83%  close  to okay .  Ie  it will work if it is cooler then 85f-88f

4 x 1610 = 6440 watts  that is  90% not that close  and I know  my breakers will trip  if it not 60 f or cooler.

so  I have to do  different setups.

I really wish  they went  with  1300 watt baseline and claimed 14.5 th

if it then came in  at 1450 watts and did  14 th  I would be fine.

Now these are first run  maybe a bit of tweaking  and they get better.

They made a  B52for SIA it  does 4.15th  and says 3.83th  so that is better then the spec claimed.
20419  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: April 13, 2018, 09:58:10 PM
but  the gear does not do  16th or 1480 watts.

every one of the six I have does over  1600 watts on a myrig psu.  that is an issue.
By the way, the unit says 1480W on the side of it. The myrig PSUs are rated at 92% efficiency. That would work out to 1608W at the wall. While the hash rate might be lower than advertised, isn't that close to spec on power? I'm not making excuses for them, but I'm wondering if everyone's expecting them to be 1480 draw at the wall?

could be this:

"DragonMint T1 Miner

The DragonMint T1 is the worlds most efficient Bitcoin miner, operating at 16TH with AsicBoost technology inside for greater power efficiency.

At the wall power consumption of with DragonMint 1600W PSU and dual fans 1480W @ 240V at ambient temperature 25°C. Variation of ±8% is expected."

now i do have 1 question for all of u t1 buyers....y did u decide to buy these when they only work for 2 pools?? doesnt that limit your choices pool wise??

I didn't buy one of these... but wanted to chime in. The early buyers did not KNOW about the AsicBoost issue, so they bought not even knowing there would be use limitations going forward.

This is true  no one new about asicboost until  Feb  of this year.

I don't have any issues  mining at ck pool
Slush is  a meh for me.

but  the gear does not do  16th or 1480 watts.

every one of the six I have does over  1600 watts on a myrig psu.  that is an issue.

not a single one of the six I have does over 15.8th long term.    that is an issue.

To anyone that purchased looking to solo mine BCH  they would be hurt.
To anyone that purchased looking to solo mine BTC  they would be hurt.
