2061  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SELLING] Rare Casascius Bitcoin Bar Originally Unloaded on: August 06, 2014, 02:40:42 PM
I bought the bar itself for around £3,500. I then loaded 1BTC into it. So typically, I'm looking to either break even or make a little profit on it. But from looking at your offer, it seems too much for you - haha.

 Shocked

What? let's see if I got this right: You're respecting the privacy of a thief who stole from you  Huh

Was thinking the same: You need to put this assholes username in headline of a topic, so his name come up in google search. You where scammed, no mercy man.
2063  Economy / Goods / Re: How many dollars over spot do you think is fair for Silver Shot? on: August 05, 2014, 09:05:03 PM
I'm considering selling a % of my holding in Silver Shot.  I like this shit because I can sell a wide range of weights for people from the tiniest BTC transaction to a large horder.

I just wanted to see the communities feel on what you guys thought would be fair.

What time of silver shots are you holding?
2064  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed :( on: August 05, 2014, 08:49:50 PM
OT:
Since this is under "Scam Accusations" who is it that scammed you? It would be nice to know what guy to avoid, even though it was on a "secret forum".
2065  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed :( on: August 05, 2014, 08:48:42 PM
cheap lesson. I got scammed a couple years ago, I "purchased" 10 tablets for what was then 900 us dollars, but btc was 7 bucks, so while I only lost 900dollars then, if you put it in todays dollars its 76k dollar lesson.. It sucks to get scammed, but it was a very cheap lesson, use an escrow next time...

Interesting story... many believe that early adopters are all rich today. But what gives bitcoins value for me is that you can spend them, I can buy merchandise around the world with them. So if you have/had many bitcoins, then are you likely to spend some.

The true winners are those who are early adopters AND and went away from the community and forgot all about their wallets, and then retrieved the bitcoins much later.

Also, is there any way to get around this stupid post limitation Bitcointalk has set in place?  My work uses a single gateway IP and multiple people here use this forum.  Because of that I am never able to make a post and it's really frustrating....

Mayby using a proxy is the way to go, as long as you are in the newbee jail.

New to POS and I see in the OP that it takes 50 confirms for the coins to mature enough for minting.  I made two deposits into my wallet, both now have over 2000 confirmations but the wallet says they are not mature.

No idea what to do.

Just wait, let the coins stay in wallet in ~20 days, then will you start mining for sure.

"It was a great deal and i couldnt resist"

that was the alarm bell.

but dont look back, learn from that lesson!
75 bucks are maybe much money for you now but when you get older its not that much.

when you learned your lession, 75 bucks are pretty cheap  Wink !

Absolutely, $75 is a really really cheap lesson in the world of scam.

You might avoid a e.g. $1000 scam later in your life, because of this "investment".

I trade both with and without escrow, and sometimes I even use escrow with people that have good rep.
It is nothing personal, its business.
2069  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed :( on: August 05, 2014, 11:54:06 AM
Dont know if this is the right section but anyways...

So im a 16 year old right? Im big into technology, Microsoft and adobe certified, the whole thing. So no surprise that i like phones. I got an iphone like a year ago... terrible desicion. I liked it at first but it was just like everyone else and it was boring and stuff haha. So i sold the gpu out of my PC to buy a lumia 920 which i have been using for the past 6 months or so. I loved it and still do, windows phone is great! But now i really wanted ti try android out again (previously i got a moto g sent to me from a company to review on my youtube channe but had to send it back after 2 weeks). I really liked it so i decided i spend my BTC on getting something decent. Im a member of another forum (not gonna say the name). Anyway someone was selling a Moto X for $75. It was a great deal and i couldnt resist. Of course i looked and the guy had positive rep. He was pretty trusted. With my luck he ends up scamming me and another person and got banned from that forum. So now i lost $75, which is kinda a big deal for someone like me. Dont really have that much money or bitcoin and that was a large chunk of my remaining BTC. but i just couldnt resist. Pretty upset because i was really looking forward to getting a nice android phone to use! Either way i bought an amazon gift card with gyft with my BTC and that how i payed him since i dont have paypal. Long story short the dude stopped answering skype and now im pissed. This was my first time getting scammed  Cry Dont wanna come off as beggar but if anyone could help cut my losses i would seriously seriously appreciate it. I could even do some work for you if someone would pay me back the BTC i lost. Like i said im very good with computers so let me know. Just wanted to share. Thanks

Why did you not use escrow? I know it sounds like a cliche, but seriously, why run the risk? With bitcoin has escrow never been more easy.

i wonder if mintcoin will be removed from mintpal.com, it's trade value is too little

It has been ridiculously low for 3-4 month now.
Only trade was the dumped premine.
2071  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.7 Available on: August 04, 2014, 12:45:57 PM
Thanks, but not worth mentioning, it's just for fun  Grin

Nevertheless, nice work, I see your idea here. The shibe got more streamlined, more mature. Almost like DOGE grew up after merged with LTC Smiley

2072  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SOLD] 2013 All Silver Casascius coins!! on: August 03, 2014, 10:56:44 PM
Blaze certainly does have a great reputation.  I got this coin from him. I've sold hundreds of items over the past 12 months on eBay; I have power seller level.

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=wafdawg&ftab=AllFeedback

Anyone who has dealt with him will tell you the same.  I've done a lot of trades here on the forum, buying and selling.

Absolutely, I can vouch 100% for wafdawg, highly recommended. Traded with him many times without escrow, he always delivers as promised and coins are top quality.
2073  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 2013 All Silver Casascius coins!! on: August 03, 2014, 07:28:45 PM
Yep we have to do this for EVERY sale and that scammer will just give up eventually.

+1
2074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is like cash under the mattress on: August 03, 2014, 08:23:09 AM
It's sad to think about all the Bitcoin that is essentially mined and now lost. I wonder how will this affect the bitcoin economy with not having the original number of coins in circulation?

It is not sad for you and me... each time a bitcoin is lost, then will our bitcoins be worth a tiny fraction more.
2075  Economy / Auctions / Re: 2011 Casascius 1BTC Brass S2 graded MS-63 on: August 02, 2014, 07:02:44 PM
After hearing about Seans Outpost by chance , I have decided to donate whatever higher bids - after the current highest bid of 1.7 bitcoins - to Seans Outpost charity for the homeless.

If in the case no one wants to bid higher than 1.7 BTC for this beautiful and rare coin for a really noble cause, I will commit to donating enough to feed 60 people, directly to Seans Outpost. Currently it cost 1.25 dollars to provide one (tasty looking) meal.

Awesome Smiley

At current bid price, this auction will feed 144 people!!!

I am curious, are you planning to donate the sales money to charity?

Bitcoin is not a get-rich scheme, many people in this community has less than 1 BTC.
It takes hard work, either by trading, working, developing etc to earn bitcoins.

Many still expecting bitcoin to go up to $100k per coin. Check out the speculation section.

Yes, not impossible.

There are two ways to reach that:
1. World wide adoption of bitcoin, we are not anyway near that, there are political/economic politic powers working against that.
2. Complete collapse of the world economy, which will result in a dollar becoming almost worthless.

The later option is imo the most realistic way for bitcoin to reach $100k.

But you have to remember that the buyers decide the market price.
In order for 1 BTC to be worth 100k, then must there be a buyer willing to pay that.

There has to be "someone" willing to pay big bucks for bitcoin.
Will you pay 100k per coin?

Given that you are not experienced with computers, but have experience with physical work. Then is your best option to convert physical work into bitcoins.

This is done by taking part you the money you earn every month and buy bitcoins for them.
This is by far the best choice for you.
