2061  Economy / Economics / Re: Power outages causes huge economic loss in south Africa. on: January 24, 2023, 01:09:14 PM
Unfortunately not every area will have the benefit of stable electric supply, this even applies in some of the richest countries depending on the terrain.   I think business can sometimes reclaim costs for loss of service, more so then consumers are allowed but there is likely limits on this.  Ultimately it would be about insurance coverage and other provisions.  I do wonder why every business does not try to avoid being reliant on mainstream power companies, we've seen massive rises in cost even if the provision is good its costing too much.
Any possibility of solar or any other form of electric not subject to spike in price is worth the investment for security in multiple ways.
2062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Modern Midas on: January 23, 2023, 11:58:36 PM
I think all lottery winners should be allowed to stay entirely silent and anonymous when claiming.  It can be dangerous to be known as 'rich' which may not even be that rich after considering taxes but the publicity of having a picture with money figure by your head is like a wanted poster in the old Wild West dead or alive doesn't matter people will come for you.
I dont know I would but would be quite tempted to donate a large portion to a charity instead of receiving it.    At the very least people should put it into trust fund of some kind where you cannot be held at gun point to give it over, who wants that amount of pressure plus add in that the vast majority are simply awful with handling large amounts beyond their weekly pay check.  Just pressure non stop from winning, so ironic

introducing the digital dollar

Dollar is already digital, doesnt take too much consideration beyond that.   The vast majority of currency moved around, that exists in total will never come close to being physical.   Many dollars are just shifted from one government balance sheet to another, they barely exist in the real economy.  Its part of what makes QE the castle in the sky it has been for over a decade now, the impossible dream made real.

BTC is entirely different from how the dollar is operated, past present and future.   They wont ever change it to properly reflect an equal capitalist standard, its not going to be a contender for anything transformative.   Its not on their agenda and I dont see how it will occur organically, its a top down system for 'the greater good'.   We had people attempt to construct national digital currency, didnt work as it purely a top down construct so there is little point in wondering about digital anything as digital is not new in that way.  We are digital right now, many countries are.
The speculation is just on when does Dollar dominance, existing since Bretton woods post war and much eroded does in fact fail, when is it too much and can we get any sign beforehand to get out of the way of the damage.
2064  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC rise described as false bull on: January 23, 2023, 11:24:32 PM
It could be described as a relief rally, relief from the continual downtrend we had prior.    Just not selling all the time and the continual negative momentum, that cessation could result in a bounce in price for sure.   Not sure I would call that false exactly, its a reasonable effect seen many times over.  The question is how much of this positive mood and gains last over months not just weeks.

I wanted to look at the origins in this area, over 2 years back now.  The highs of the past summer might prove more important first of all, with a 200 week and 50 week average colliding around 25k it seems possible caution is the best approach.   The actual average isnt the resistance more of a red flag of a turn around, 25 or 27k I think could be the top of this move.  Overall I think we do ok so long as any pullback isnt too harsh, the selloff can be a positive to flush out sellers.
Overall I dont find the move fake but unproven till we pass that retest or pullback however you might phrase it.
2065  Economy / Gambling / Re: Freebitco.in - FUN Token Investment Experiment on: January 23, 2023, 11:16:51 PM
Linking the burn to revenue and net profit is smart, thats really big.  I guess its not guaranteed but certainly feels like it should elevate the estimated worth of holding such a token.   For such a large long standing successful website, if they were to regular burn in this way it would seem quite certain to create a spiral upwards in value long term.    So long as BTC and just the idea of gambling on stuff continues I see much less doubt is justified on a hold.   BTC is long-term so a year lock though not exactly convenient its really not too much to consider imo, think I will do this a bit more then I have been.

Upto logic on adverts is common.  It used to be there was no immediate benefits to holding FUN token then they speeded it up a little but still the full blown membership type deal isnt there till its been held a year.    Its on purpose to have people earn their dividend a little or we might have people juggling them constantly which I guess is not conducive to building a market for that token etc.
12.5k is the sweet spot for a first try at holding I think, its still quite a small amount.    Has to be said the best value is actually on the smallest holdings, the later entries appear big but so is the holding required so as a ratio the most is gained just holding a little amount.   Again its to encourage people to put their toe in the water I guess, any regular user should hold a little imo

1hr left to bet on price end of month, I think this time its a little more exciting.  Definitely a good trend in play but would it hold till end month.   We could reverse but imo we mostly stay positive in a similar fashion for Jan then any proper negativity is further out and hopefully not at all Tongue
2067  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: January 23, 2023, 08:01:52 PM
I've heard of people not borrowing but selling their assets in an apparent illogical way to invest in Bitcoin.   The head of a family sold his house and went to live in a bus instead, investing the money into Bitcoin.   Happy to say this was more then a few years back and surely BTC has risen enough they have been ok from this decision but its hardly safe to do so.   Its all highly speculative and a house is one of the few things it very often makes sense to borrow for due to high utility.
Buying BTC but not using it is like commodity speculation, you could buy a barrel of oil but its really not advisable compared to just using the end product for its utility in cars.   Most people should stay balanced, dont get into a spot where you might be forced to sell as you may then receive the worst price.  Theres a herd effect in markets where all 'weak hands' are forced to drop out, it happens so often we should expect it regularly now and in future once again, avoid borrowing.
2068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This Smells Like Hypocrisy on: January 23, 2023, 07:53:14 PM
Horse racing is the sport of kings and lottery is often a form of taxation levied on a population by their free will.   I agree its pointless bias but gambling continues on every sport regardless thanks to the Yakuza network no doubt.
Any ban on gambling is quite pointless, same too with the smoking ban for young people in NZ I think it was.  They will do it anyway and you might as well take some taxes for any negative fallout of those activities if it is so bad.  Banning just creates an alternative black market with crime gangs fighting over the revenue with no real positives over freedom for all.
2069  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: January 23, 2023, 07:46:30 PM
I dont disagree but the retest is where I have more confidence.  The low prices more then the high prices is where I find accuracy is best given for prediction and the backbone to trends.    We do have weekly, 50 and I hope soon 200 day averages moving upwards.   When all that is true is best to be biased to the upside but I wont assume just yet, sincere optimism seems totally correct but I'll wait this month out and some.
So breaking this downtrend line is good, but once we have also pulled back yet kept this former regular negative as the very lowest price then I find we are very likely with positive bias.
2070  Economy / Economics / Re: Ontario Teacher's Pension Plan accepts their loss on: January 22, 2023, 11:59:46 PM
Im slightly amazed they are using pension funds for crypto investment, especially in a concentrated way like this.    I dont know I like the index type 'spread' of crypto investment but it can at least say its not relying on only one entity where as this appears to have been a house of cards hoping this genius was for real and it would pay dividends.     Also I agree its a massive fund and as a percentage of their investments 95m wont qualify as even 1% but to suffer absolute loss is never acceptable as an outcome and this will show as burnt fingers in the industry for years I guess.

What Loyce said basically but I dont think they entirely understand the difference in risk.
2071  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: January 22, 2023, 11:46:45 PM
Awful idea because of the volatility possible.   Seems like a very smart idea to do this but most loans are fixed term based and BTC can take many years to develop fully.   Problem is though unlikely BTC can still goto 10k from here, it shouldnt but its a highly speculative asset at this moment and you have many possible sellers vs dollar.
Also time and again we see the market seems to search out weak spots and weak holders until all possible supply of 'loose' BTC is squeezed dry we dont tend to find a solid bottom pricing for BTC.   We can guess we've done that but imo thats only true if dollar index does not keep on rising back.   Very possible is negative economic news over the next year, possible recession which will blunt market optimism and send people searching for Dollars once again putting BTC under pressure. I do not see 2023 as being a clear road ahead, this action is not easy as it might appear to be.
2072  Economy / Speculation / Re: January bitcoin price out look on: January 22, 2023, 09:51:38 PM
We further improved price on Friday to a higher bullish flag.   If we can maintain that area, hold 22.5k it should prove quite positive into the new week but if we fail to keep this potential support I think its reasonable we return a thousand lower to 21.5k.  Basically checking all the price action of the last week to confirm before we go higher; weekly average is around here and imo thats a good indication we remain positive even within a pullback such as this.   Any further will involve a longer turn around then.
2073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 22, 2023, 07:31:11 PM
I registered for an offer given on this forum, actually it was totally free with the restriction you must play through the money many times over before you would be allowed to withdraw it free and clear.    Since its free 'cash' to play any game I took the offer and understood having to play it 20x which is alot but I have nothing to lose so thats quite powerful incentive.
I managed to master one of the slots, cant remember why that one in particular sure it was the music or something funny like that but I could get multiple bonus wins often enough so why complain.    I was too scared to play others just the one I liked and seemed to know to win at so amazingly I doubled up my bonus amount and played it many times till I qualified for withdrawal.   Then BTC worth went up much higher so it was no small amount, very nice offer.   I'm sure others can do similar though the good luck cant be guaranteed I was very grateful.  [They did require me to make a deposit as a final detail but no problem to withdraw my balance after that.]
2074  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin recent boom tracing back to Mt Gox + FTX/celsius/terra on: January 22, 2023, 07:20:03 PM
FTX is not important enough, Im sure I was supposed to be knowledgable about all their stuff but to me they were just another player.  Now they are gone I see no reason why it must alter everything for the rest of us, BTC isnt propped up like that reliant on a website or person for their personal integrity.  Predictably, the security of both was lacking and failed those who trusted in it.   When people point at FTX and say BTC must be blamed its nonsense, I'd say thats a reason to buy when labels are entirely incorrectly placed like that.
Way back Mt.Gox did have an alarming dominance in BTC, very different and long beforehand people pointed out this towering wobbly leaning empire was about to fall and the negative it would be.   We also did have a number of incorrect factors at that time, I think one BTC mining pool was nearing 50% or maybe it was a bit lower but either way it was far too dominant to be called a safe scenario.   Hopefully BTC has progressed in good times and bad to be more distributed with many legs not just one to stand on for any number of vital trading flows every day.

Musk is a large buyer but also seller, maybe some trade that in order books but Musk isnt really important for change in this space that I ever heard.  Strong genuine buying across millions of people is what alters the price long term hopefully forever in a bullish way because people use that purchase where as Musk did little that I ever heard.

360 spins will return some 5000 size results, thats a very good reason to always do the daily email spin.     Especially when BTC can be recovering from here thats a nice bonus, Im going to be sad when we dont get the full fat top reward like that.   As it adjust down when BTC booms now is the time to be collecting especially, we already lost some of the hourly sat prize just from this recent gain.
I thought we might be getting more as BTC pricing explored the full range of about 10k-20k but the present price action is so strong it really makes me think that is behind us.   Typically markets always back test so we await full proof but graph shouts strength right now the previously missing 'staircase' higher shape to candles has returned this year.
I will add to my 25k month end bet however, there is the top prices for summer 2022 at 24300 and that might be where we end up more likely.
2076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 21, 2023, 11:59:10 PM
Show interest isnt usually a bad idea, take a look around.   Alot of places encourage involvement even on a low scale, free in some instances I've seen.  Anything which raises player interest and involvement is taken as a big positive hence the promotions and offers given, new customers are highly valued so far as I know.
The idea is you give them a chance to sell to you, get you in on a game any game that you prefer; obviously this aint happening if people dont goto onto the site and frequently people will forget a site they dont have in their history etc.
2077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Basra Stadium Stampede (football match). on: January 21, 2023, 11:56:11 PM
Theres guidelines given out by FIFA for just this reason, its happened the world over that people have been crushed just for going to a match.   Blame may not help a reoccurrence, all parties involved need to investigate and decide how to prevent it happening again.

2026 World Cup qualifiers

Seems quite unlikely unless series inroads made to policy but this happens in every country I can think of.   Any mass amount of people its on the cards to occur depending on the temperament of the people that day, I think no short measure can be made on crowd control in the city, around the match and inside also.  Thats alot of staff required and cost to some extent which is a discouragement but cant be skipped when we see how easily people can die.
2078  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we now on Crypto bull run? on: January 21, 2023, 11:39:43 PM
Its well past the 200 day average but here the slower 50 week average might be of more relevance for its slower momentum.    What can and does happen quite often is if we outrun a down trend then a pressure is released from the back of BTC and this leads to buoyancy and a rebound upwards.   This is too early to call a bull trend as such, dont quite start counting your chickens just yet.
2079  Economy / Economics / Re: How is the cost of living in your country? on: January 21, 2023, 11:05:38 PM
I think was it Sri Lanka with the collapse of their economy (currency) the government started to do the only sensible solution possible which is to release staff for one day a week to start  a growing garden of food for themselves and their family.   Paying them for the full week but giving part of their wages in time available for that purpose, seemed kinda smart.   The ultimate resourcefulness of anything resembling a capitalist economy would start from the bottom up, the true strength of a country is always the people.

Doing some kind of reverse takeover of an older blockchain was a smart move I think and actions since then have been similar to add value to the ongoing prospects.  How well that reflects in price near term is not going to be immediate, cant fight the tide of wider pullback in BTC and overall I think the token has to justify its standing long term.   BTC recovering probably helps some but I dont think thats entirely occurring just in this year, it'll be longer out.

Fun token price is oscillating, dont think I'll add to that bet at this time it could go either way.   I'll take a long shot on BTC going further, a pullback seems more logical but BTC can run sometimes.   The next Fibonacci level is about 27k, which is good odds if it went that far.   The 200 week which is a big moving average is in the way first at 25k but it could happen for a moment at end month.
