So I have a DMD deposit that never arrived in my wallet... was there a blockchain switchover/fork or something? I have tried to sync my wallet on both mac and PC but the DMD are not showing up in my account I tried the block explorer for the txid ....returned null values address: dcA2zFYYgvaWBaNBCb1UdLErGfdGtq6MSy txid: e36a5d96352fb178bd9b2485ac922a1e3c847cde3d3c61224fe86ee910183b50 Thoughts? Any feedback would be appreciated! @kyma, do you have any new information or updates on your issue? As you know, I have almost exactly the same issue ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=580725.msg6752105#msg6752105 ) and mine is still "Being Processed" and they refuse to give out any information at all - refuse to respond is really more accurate. The Diamond block chain has struck due to an attack. It was decided to prematurely fork it and switch to Groestl hashing at that point. Surely, a lot of transactions have been canceled and some mined blocks too (I know to have mined two blocks myself during that time, that got orphaned).
Your DMDs are (back) at Criptsy's wallet. You should open a case with them to have the coins returned to your balance. Or, they should demonstrate where that transaction went..
@danbi, do you have any suggestions about how to further pressure Cryptsy?

Sure hope the new algo is going to be groestl. Not to mention its same energy inefficiency with scrypt, scrypt-n already looks to have its days numbered in-so-far as ASICs go as well. https://www.flowertechnology.com/

I have almost the exact same issue (with only a slight difference in time and quantity of coins) with a support ticket that was opened soon after on April 29 whose status is still "Being Processed".I have tried all three methods outlined in this support doc https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/170993-3-methods-forWith both the new 2.0.1 wallet as well as the old 1.0.4 client. All without success, and Cryptsy is apprised.

cryptsy wallet is updated: 14 days mining gona be sold now by some shortsighted! chance to get hands on cheap diamonds!
Let this be a lesson to us and let's get listed with MintPal too - like now - as in yesterday! - ASAP - High Priority!
|
|
|
How about MintPal?
Is Diamond trying to get listed on MintPal?
If DopeCoin, PotCoin and GrumpyCoin can get listed, can't Diamond?
|
|
|
So looks like now dmd dont have any proper exchanges at all? crypsy dont work, other have 0 volume Maybe someone will try to contact poloniex, bter etc?
Cryptsy Chat Rep said they "are in the process of syncing" the Diamond wallet. Whatever the hell that means, and whether it's the umpteenth sync they've done, and who knows how many more they'll need to do, and why, don't ask me! Would be nice to have a more visible presence and more information from the Dev team. WhiteCoin's wallet on Cryptsy was down for a few weeks . . . http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/2014/5/12/cryptsy-enables-whitecoin-withdrawals-again-value-increasesThat's ugly.

@Danbi, I just noticed that I've been getting intermittent failovers to GRS in the last hour or so. Could be a connectivity issue between here and there, but I thought I'd give you a heads up just in case.

Why I have on GRS 20 Mh, but on DMD 17.5-18 Mh with the same settings? How to fix it? setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 sgminer.exe -k groestlcoin -o http://dmdpool.digsys.bg:3345 -u login -p pass --no-submit-stale --gpu-engine 1170 --gpu-memclock 1020 --thread-concurrency 22400 -I 22 -g 2 --gpu-reorder --scan-time 1 I think it has more to do with server side reporting than anything else. I was getting over-reporting on GRS as well, and now, on Danbi's, I'm getting hashrate stats that correspond extremely well with what my individual miners are reporting - almost exactly the same. Might what you're experiencing be similar in nature? is there any pool without registration and workers with big hashrate (like http://groestlcoin.biz/ but with bigger hashrate)? I see that http://dmdpool.digsys.bg/ has 1200mh, but I have 20 different workers and I dont want to register them all You only have to register once. After that you just set up your individual workers under that same account: Worker Name, which will be appended to your user name (username.workername - for example, a worker name of 1 becomes username.1) and the Worker Password of your choice (which can be the same for all workers). It's all very easy and shouldn't take you more than a couple of minutes. After logging in, go to My Account > My Workers and you're ready to set them up. is there any pool without registration and workers with big hashrate (like http://groestlcoin.biz/ but with bigger hashrate)? if nobody goes there, it won't happen... That's how the hashrate increase. It would be good that the hashrate get spread. Anyhow, I spent a few hours there, didn't see any block. Went back to solo since an hour already 3 blocks... kinda strange I've been on Danbi's pool for over 24 hours now, and they're knocking it dead. Still the best profitibility you can find ATM, but the price dump may change all that, which really sucks . . . but there's no volume either . . . the big question is whether there will be more dumping once Cryptsy gets its wallet issue sorted out, or whether buyers will come in . . . Just getting hammered. Traded as low as .00048200. Someone ripped through the buy stack, but now some new orders have appeared again in the same area between .00050000 and .00056002. Price back up to .00067400. Let's hope this was a spike bottom! https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/72Market Trade History (last 200) as of this writing

With all the previous talk about "hacking" things to adapt Diamond that created the impression that Diamond was deviating from the common standard, it's important to know that Diamond is not deviating from the original algo, at least in this case anyway. IMHO, these things need to be prominently reported in periodic status reports.
"hacking" is how we creative types refer to the process of investigating something that is not behaving properly and guiding it to behave. This is applicable to any thing in life, not just software. At least, this is how I understand this English language word. What you propose is good practice. However, it is very difficult to implement in forum formats like this. Here is a place for collaboration, more or less. That's correct. That's what I understand "hacking" to mean, and you also clearly explained it earlier in this thread where you were discussing what you were doing . . . where phrases like "changing the code" and "the fact that DMD's implementation is not exactly like GRS's" along with questions about this "unique" implementation and doubts about whether something similar could happen again were also expressed. Putting the facts as we now know them front and center in "bold" (and doing the same with everything else - as much as possible) should help to alleviate at least some of those legitimate worries and fears.
Hope I am finding different ways of explaining how important direct, accurate and timely updating is and that I'm not just sounding like a broken record.
Below I repost part of that discussion of yours with other contributors:Danbi,
If you can take ANY other groestl coin (what..all three of them?) and have it work in a heart beat, which they do, its not the stratum, its the coin.
True, you can make other groestl based coins work, but this is only part of the game. There is other hashing involved besides groestl in DMD and the other coins. Still hacking, but so far, we have two choices: 1. make DMD hash like the other groestl coins and fork (!) again. 2. Modify both stratum AND the miner and avoid the fork. I am currently working in this direction. in my thoughts? if the stratum is already working for other coins? even if its only 3 with this algo..... why would someone insist on changing and trying to fix something that isn't broke? afraid of the fork? but the fork would solve the problem! also if your changing the code to change stratum and other then who says that this wont happen again ? instead of using tried and true ? just my thoughts on breaking something that is working or not? sure I understand the challenge of making it work and wanting to prove that your good coders but make this work like the other groestl and if we all have problems then its solved with more then just a single coin right? The ralationship between wallet (getblocktemplate) - stratum - miner and wallet (getwork) - miner is very, very different. In the later case, it is the wallet that controls block construction/verification etc. In the first case, it's all three parties. In the case of the other coins, it "just works", because the neccesary work to support it has already been done. We will do it for DMD as well, don't worry. The choice to fork again is no an easy one, at least not in this moment. Sure, the fact that DMD's implementation is not exactly like GRS's has been overlooked, but this is done thing, in the past. We need to look in the future, where we have precisely the above choices. I for myself don't care much about any recognition, but am not feeling easy to have operated a pool and it suddenly stops because a bunch of people insist they don't share any knowledge. This cryptocoin stuff exists on the basis of community trust, which only exists when everything is open source. common trust? well every moment that goes by and every proprietary and not open source change they make to make this "unique" running the road alone doesn't offer trust.... take a look at the entire world not just a small part of it! the dev said" Still hacking, but so far, we have two choices: 1. make DMD hash like the other groestl coins and fork (!) again. 2. Modify both stratum AND the miner and avoid the fork. I am currently working in this direction. taking the fork would solve the problem and number 2 is simply taking on a doubt full approach on coding that may or may not succeed. I would think more of trying to get this working as others are working and not simply hack stuff to simply make it work for the moment then later it happens again. or not? but who knows? with taking the fork it would get this coin back in the running trying to recover some of its credibility and would have several "devs" working on it not just this team

just want to inform the dev that Cryptsy is saying it's waiting for updates from the DMD developers. My apologies, DMD is currently under maintenance. All transactions will resume once its back online. We are currently waiting for the developers of the coin to get back to us with updates. Thank you kindly for your patience and understanding. Have a great day!
They are joking, right?! I've been waiting for their reply for ages and got only silence in response. I left detailed updates on the progress in 'escalated' ticket.. how can they now say they are waiting for our response?!
"this ends tonight" - angry Spartan Tech Support Standard Operating Procedure: blame the other guy.
That's why it's critical to be extremely proactive . . . and have the documentation to demonstrate your case.

Thing is, GroestlCoin is actually deviating from the common standard, in that it (and few other new coins) is not using sha256d for the transaction hashes, but sha256 (single pass). To accomodate GroestlCoin, NOMP and sph-sgminer actually threat it as special case. In summary, it was never the new DMD wallet's fault that stratum mining did not work -- it was how that software assumed that when you said you want "groestl" you also said you want sha256 (single). NOMP already has a setting to fix this, thanks to some discussion with the author. For coins that use any of (currently) keccak, blake, fugue and groestl -- you need to specify in the coin definition. By the way, the morale of this story is that the DMD team has been blamed without guilt on this subject. This is what I'm harping on. This is another "now you tell us" example that comes to us in the form of a BTW, and that should have been released in headline format all by itself. Of course, if you're not releasing all pertinent data in a timely and transparent fashion, it's a little difficult to do that. This is all open source after all, correct? And anybody who really wants to know can always dive into the code, correct? Again, I'm scratching my head and wondering out loud about the lack of specific data regarding all the issues DMD has been facing (both here and on github, and dmdcoin.net too). I'm befuddled. Add: With all the previous talk about "hacking" things to adapt Diamond that created the impression that Diamond was deviating from the common standard, it's important to know that Diamond is not deviating from the original algo, at least in this case anyway. IMHO, these things need to be prominently reported in periodic status reports.

Just a note: discovered that the pool confirmations were set at 60 blocks but the current wallet confirms blocks at 180 confirmations. So I decided to update it. The new setting sort of confused MPOS and it will take some time to clear up -- do not be surprised if large payout suddenly "does not work". It will.
EDIT: the pool has already passed 1 Ghash/s, wow! Do not worry, the server is barely noticing the load.
Yeah, I figured that's what happened when I saw a good part of my confirmed balance go unconfirmed. The web interface is working perfectly now. Everything's refreshing correctly, the dashboard is streaming, and the three little beeps with each new block found are even coming through loud and clear! Currently about 2/3 the network hashrate though - so if there's any 51% attack, just remember, we know where you live.

Come on gang. Danbi's put a lot of time and effort into getting his pool up and running, and by looking at the big hashers on the stats board who are not donating, I'd say that he's not getting much gratitude.
And he's not even applying fees!
Aren't we different from the rest?
Come on, show your gratitude by being generous, and DONATE !!!!

That's a bit melodramatic, don't you think Not at all. It's my honest opinion.
It's FAILSAFE for Diamond. Do or die. I'm not the only one who has said it either. Go back and read recent posts and count 'em!
But relax, it's only MY opinion, and those other opinions expressed which are also ONLY opinions, all subjective interpretations of the facts.
I wouldn't let my opinion bother you. Only your own opinion based on your own interpretation of the facts should bother you (or reassure you), but when your opinion is becoming a minority opinion, that should be a red flag for you to re-evaluate.
Just my opinion that you guys are at the tipping point and that I think you are in denial about it, and that's a very dangerous combination.
Add: Believe me you, I hope I'm wrong and that Monday morning (or sometime next week) I wake up to find out that DMD is up on Cryptsy, that several mining pools are active, and that everything is hunky dory, but I have nothing real to base that hope on at the moment other than hoping against hope - and that's why effective damage control is so urgently necessary at this time.

HR, you've always produced good pieces of writing but this time this feels more like a rant. I'm not sure what you aim to achieve by saying the above, as it feels as if we were sitting there drinking good wine, not doing anything and having a good laugh reading posts of people who struggle. Which in my view is an assumption taken way too far. I didn't beg anyone to stay as you implied, I just hinted that there is no point in wasting electricity on some not working pool, while something that might just solve the issue is arriving. We work with other people and are dependant on their availability.. when it comes it comes. popshot, I didn't quote you on anything other than your initial, pre blockchain 386228 stop re-post you did of Alex's post on April 26. Did you miss the compare and contrast between now and then basic idea of my whole post? Where do you get the idea that I was quoting you about begging?
Rant? Have you read the post? Have you reflected on what was said? A flippant attitude is inconsistent with serious efforts to deal with a challenging situation. That's what I said. Would you, or anyone else argue with that? You might argue that you all are not being flippant, displaying a general sense of being disconnected, but you can't argue the premise, correct? Now, if you want to argue that you are NOT creating an overall impression inconsistent with the serious nature of the challenge you have before you, you'll need to point out all those serious posts that you Devs have made, and challenge others to post the contrary: cheeky, glib, frivolous, impertinent, offhanded comments, or even the outright ignoring or glossing over of important questions, that completely fly in the face of the current situation. I think you know how that contest would turn out. I'm just describing the situation, but you've taken it as a rant. Think about it again. A rant?
It's not the good old days when things were going great like back then in your re-post of Alex's post, things are radically different now.
The comment you referred to, by the way, was this one (and the word I used was "pleading"): this time we wont hurry we will deliver stable software and tested in every thinkable usecase it might be possible we pre-release a pool only mining patched wallet but even that will need some time
people have always the choice
stay with us
Now, if you're not even reading and thinking about what's been described, that would be worse still, but I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that since you're so busy, you saw something that wasn't there, interpreted things incorrectly, and made an honest mistake.
But make no mistake, people don't take the time I've taken just for fun. I'm not into wasting my time, and if this is falling on deaf ears . . . it's looking to me more and more like you're all in denial, if that's the case, I'll be done and wishing you all the best (as I alluded to in my last post).
It's up to you.

Hey everyone,
I wanted to give you an update and a bit of re-cap on a few things that had happened within the last 7 days. We have started making some positive vibes in the crypto community. We have a professional Twitter crypto veteran with great connections who spreads the word about us. Several news articles about our coin have appeared and all with very encouraging words. The price has been steadily growing now being 4x of that than a week before.
We’re also vigorously pursuing development of mining software for ARM based and other mobile devices so quite soon we shall see an explosion of interest as we reach further and further into the new markets.
We are building traction fast. We base our brand on fairness and availability to all people; especially with the new mining software and merged mining we are going to be a very popular and secure coin.
There are still plenty of things to do and we are literally working round the clock to deliver. But as they say if there’s a skill, stubbornness and optimism one can always prevail.
The future's bright, if you ask me
Regards, Alex Remember those days?
What do you think it will take to get back to that?
Are you aware that you are on the edge of the cliff, at the failsafe point-of-no-return, and that you run a very high risk of never getting back?
I'm telling you, you need to get serious with serious damage control and get rid of the flippancy. Appearance and perception are 99% of the game and continual flippancy in the face of important and pressing challenges is beginning to make you guys look like flakes. In the last 24 hours we've heard about the 'great news' of a new listing on a no-name exchange (whose beta website is a joke - come on, you can't be serious) and seen a re-post of a half-baked status report from last Tuesday, and with that we're back to silly comments about new slogans and the like and embarrassing, on-our-knees, pleading with people not to leave. Re-read the quote above, and ask youself when you'll be back to that, and that's when you'll be able to start joking around again without looking like [put the noun of choice here].
BTW, as noted in the quote above, the huge price increase was BEFORE the wallet release, not after. Currently, price is actually down when compared to pre wallet release . . . What do you think incorrect information, especially when used to try and generate a positive spin, does to everyone's perception of you and DMD? (I'll give you a hint, it borders on fraudulence . . .)show me another coin that would survive such a desaster with 300% value gain compared to pre wallet release
You've got real issues to deal with, both technical and PR. The technical may take time due to its nature, but I don't understand why it's taking you so long to cut the crap and get serious. People ask serious questions, and they are ignored or blown over with a level of flippancy that would make Britney Spears proud. What's the status on Cryptsy support tickets?
usertickets get closed instant our tickets are in second level support but no updates or questions from their side even if we feeded em all infos that could be possible be usefull for em My ticket is still open. I guess it depends on the type of ticket . . .thx for ur help i understand u wana guide us Not if that's what it takes!
But let's not go there. It's all been said, and I only say things once.
It is what it is, and you'll do with it what you'll do with it.
