What's currently going on at Chelsea is what many Chelsea fans feared. Chelsea has been linked with nearly everyone I can think of. Currently now it is Raheem Sterling they are going after yet they haven't made any purchase yet instead they are having Lukaku on loan. I  think Chelsea fans should be worried that Roman Ibrahomovic is no longer the owner of the club, it would have been easier for them to make the signings.  It's left for Tuchel to find a replacement for Romelu Lukaku

In my own opinion, Chelsea has more work to do at the defence than the attack. We need 2 Quality Centre Backs, If Alonso, Azpi and Emerson leave, Clauss and Sosa could be good for us on the cheap. Jorginho could also be replaced by Gilmour, while we still have Kovacic, Kante, Loftus-Cheek and Gallagher in midfield, we really don't need to replace anyone unless someone leaves. Werner, Ziyech can leave, and bring in Broja, with Havertz leading the line.
I think Chelsea are being too careful with how much they spend in the transfer window. Lots of fans were worried when Roman Ibrahomovic had to sell the club because of the sanctions, his absence is more painful as the new owner seem unwillingly to splash cash to buy players. The mighty blues might just become like Arsenal. I think the new owner should do more than his predecessor did, Chelsea is a big club and has good history players would want to play for.

If we are talking about Mikel Arteta and Arsenal's rise last season, I'd also like to add some of my opinion about these. Mikel Arteta was appointed as Arsenal manager on late 2019. He has been managing the team since then and his current contract expires in the summer of 2025. This has been a really long run for him here but the last season performance of the team must have helped consolidate his place in the team more surely too. He was being criticized about the that horrible start to the previous season. But everything changed so fast thanks to their unbelievable recovery. Fans also started to believe in him and the team. Their performance on the final weeks wasn't very impressive but they still managed to have a decent ending.

I started to think that they can do even better than this and finish in top 4 this time. Their transfers can play a big role in this too and the possibility of bringing Gabriel Jesus must be making the fans really excited now.
Yes the team has improved to an extent and showed an impressive performance but fell out of top for due to problem of injuries to first team players in the squad and the substitute options were not reliable to keep up and stay in the top four fight. I think that is the issues Arteta is trying to solve in this transfer window. They are recruiting and not just focused on the first 11 but the substitute options also.

Arsenal's management confirmed the inclusion of Fabio Vieira, a Porto midfielder, for £34m. I think Fabio's talent will leave an imprint on English stadiums by putting in good performances with the arsenal.!!!Arsenal have made a bid for Raphinha, but it will be rejected as Leeds believe the 23-year-old is worth more than the player's value.

I think Arsenal know what they can do for next season and they have to look for more talent to be able to establish themselves in the EPL.
After sometime now Arsenal are having some better things in game and squad like as they play last year now management feeling with some good changes they can achieve better results which are not bad at all Arteta is doing good job which is having good impact overall. Now as they are investing and bringing some good skilled players, these can bring better results.

Raphina is surely currently one of rising stars and Leeds United already rejected few bids for him so most chances he is going to stay there with this now Arsenal can go for Gabriel Jesus which is also good signing for them because after Lacazatte they need more strikers for next season.
Arteta is doing a great job by transforming this Arsenal side who are putting in good performances week in and week out, winning important games against smaller side and even against league giants like Chelsea and Manchester United. They are also active in the transfer market bringing in Skilled players to strengthen the squad for the start of the next season. Raphina will surely be a good addition too but thats if the can cut a deal for his services with Leeds United before the end of the transfer window.

Their matches do not give me any joy, instead it causes me stress and my blood pressure to rise.
When it comes to watching the Super Eagles games, I believe a high percentage of the fans are tired of given their time and devotion to games that turn out to bring heart break and anger to them. It always ends in premium tears watching the super eagles games.

That means am not the only one who has discovered that the Super Eagles of Nigeria no longer show a winning mentality on the pitch of play. There is nothing they want to play for again. No pride to defend Nigeria's football integrity. Nothing whatsoever. They already think themselves millionaires doing the country a favour by playing. The days of Christian Chukwu, Rasheed Yekini, Daniel Omokachi, Finidi and the rest of the Atlanta 96 squad were the glory days of Nigeria football. Big footballing countries panicked to even play the Super Eagles but that is not so any more now. It does not matter the coach they bring in, the boys continue to feel too big bringing out their legs. It is the mentality of the players and that has to change. I like how Samuel Eto is sounding the warning to members of the Cameroon team that they should sit up or leave the team. And I think Nigeria should do the same.
It is so bad to see professional players who are supposed to be happy and playing for their nation with pride because that should be were your loyalty lies. When you are invested to represent your nation and you feel too big and already made so much that you feel you are doing ypur nation a favour, that mentality alone is enough distraction. Back in the 1990s players were so happy and played with pride. I hope the new coach will can change this situation in the team.

Lautaro Martinez is a very crucial player for Inter now. They wouldn't like to let him go now easily. They are relying on his goals very much now and they don't have a better alternative than him in their hands as well. Maybe they are close to signing Lukaku on a loan deal but this may not mean that they would be more willing to sell Martinez. They would rather make use of this amazing duo like Conte did in the season they became the winners of the Serie A title. Tottenham will need to make an insane offer for him to increase their chance of signing him.
Martinez struck a formidable partnership with Romelu Lukaku under Antonio Conte during Inter's 2020-21 title-winning campaign in Italy, and a chance of a reunion with either of his former colleges is now looking likely. Lukaku and Martinez know each other well having been strike partners already at Inter. During their two years together, the pair scored a combined 104 goals (Lukaku - 64 and Martinez - 40) across all competitions. Lautaro Martinez is too valuable for Inter Milan, he is just 24 with fire in his feet. Inter Milan won't let him leave even if Tottenham up their fee. He is very important for them in the attacking department.
Indeed Lukaki and Martinez struck a formidable parnership at Inter Milan under Antonio Conte and obviously a reunion between this two is something Inter Milan will love to put together again and it seems Inter Milan are reluctant on letting Martinez leave with plans on bringing Lukaku back to the club on loan. They are doing everything possible to keep him at the club.
2067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 21, 2022, 06:29:43 PM
The 2022 World Cup will be the destination of foreign tourists to Qatar because it will be held in winter, and the schedule for that month has also changed the tradition of the World Cup which is usually held when the league schedule in each country has ended, although at first the decision was granted. protests from many countries because it is considered to disrupt the league schedule in each country which in that month usually only lasts half a season but FIFA President has announced that the Qatar 2022 World Cup will be held from 21 November to 18 December 2022.

World Cup happens once in every 4 years, and it is the highest priority tournament in international football. Do these guys really want the FIFA to postpone this premier event, just because it overlaps with some local league? UEFA needs to realize that the world no longer revolves around it. World Cup will see teams from all over the world taking part. And for people like me, it hardly makes a difference whether the world cup schedule overlaps with the national level competitions in some of the nations. It is just one month. The participating nations need to adjust their leagues accordingly. Or if they want, they can pull out of the world cup and concentrate on the league competitions.
Pulling out of the world cup isn't as easy as it sounds. The solution to this is the various national leagues to adjust their fixtures and games to fit in with the situation. The world cup competition is already affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, postponing will only cause more problems than good afterall the competition is just for a month so the leagues will have to adjust their time table.

Di Maria is still a solid player and he can contribute nicely to any team he goes to. He is leaving PSG soon and he is rumoured to join Juventus this summer. I think that it would be a good signing for Juventus as I believe that Di Maria can be beneficial for one or two seasons at least. Juventus want to get stronger in attacking and in their midfield also. Di Maria would be a nice addition to their wing. He might be criticized because of being 34 years old now but I don't think this would hinder him from performing good.
I think for a soccer athlete who is still under 40 years of age still has a good performance at least he can still play for the next few seasons and can give his best contribution at the end of his time because when he gets older, Maria must be able to think about old age and I think this is the end of di Maria to become a team from another club because it is impossible to move to another club with an increasing age.
Not every player can play until the age of 40. So it cannot play with maximum efficiency. Stars such as Ronaldo, Messi, Ibrahimovic can play comfortably until the age of 40. I believe that Di Maria will be among these star names. Still, it's too early to say for sure. Serie A is a tough league, high performance may be required.

I rarely see football players playing until they are 40 years old, most football players before the age of 35 have decided to retire. Or usually if
they are old enough to decide not to play in Europe anymore, and regarding Di Maria who plays on winger, it makes me doubt that Di Maria will
play until the age of 40. Because the position of winger usually requires good physical condition and also of course must have speed. Meanwhile,
Di Maria, who is 34 years old, will surely lose his form and will not be able to play until he is 40 years old. Therefore PSG decided not to extend
Di Maria's contract, even though Di Maria still wanted to play for PSG. So Juventus if they want to sign Di Maria should offer a short-term contract.
The club is well known for recruiting players based on experience and records. This is a team who still field players who are aged 30 plus so its no surprise to me if they want to sign Di maria at age 34. They believe experience gets the job done so I don't think Juventus wanting to sign Di maria at this current stage of his carrer are worried about getting top performance from him.

Their matches do not give me any joy, instead it causes me stress and my blood pressure to rise.

Best you don't watch it then, there were some matches I stopped watching as I don't expect much from those matches and others I enjoy watching, knowing the players won't disappoint me as the match will be interesting. You should pick interest back in watching the Super eagle play though as we missing out of the World cup could be a good thing as it gives the coach time to build the team he wants.

The world cup would had been a distraction as fans would had expected so much from an unprepared coach and probably we won't have gotten the new coach assuming the previous coach qualified us for the world cup. Maybe everything is working together for the good if the national team, lets just relax and watch.

When it comes to watching the Super Eagles games, I believe a high percentage of the fans are tired of given their time and devotion to games that turn out to bring heart break and anger to them. It always ends in premium tears watching the super eagles games. For instance in the world cup qualifiers, we all felt the team was different and things have changed and the team was back to top form but see how it turned out in the end, disappointment again. Thats the problem here. Anyways we shall see If things will be better under the new manager.

Raheem Sterling is still a wonderful winger for Manchester City and any big team in Europe. I believe Manchester City should keep him for a longer time. Because he didn't perform badly at all last season. He deserves to continue to be an important part of this team. He can continue to help them with his goals, assists and one-on-one skills. I have heard about Chelsea to be interested in him recently but it may not be easy for them to sign him for a favorable price now.
Manchester City has only top players in their team.Raheem Sterling is a good player, with a good pace, fast feet, the ability to run through defense and pass balls to the attacker, and even score goals, he has been great at Manchester City but the loss will be huge on the team performance. I think he will be fit in with Chelsea's game style. I think he will provide more strength and firepower upfront for Chelsea.

Yes, he will and Yes it was all about the money.
Honestly I respect his decision even if it was 100% about money. Whether you treat everyone the same whether you have to accept the underpaid guys to leave.
I can't work in a place where I am working hard and get paid half what the others receiving.. It is unfair.
If we take it from another perspective, AFAIK Mane is doing many charity actions in his native village, not sure how accurate that was but to say that he isn't "hungry" about the money.
Mane is not a money hungry player, he is one of the most generous football players, a lot of his money is spent on charity. The reason Mane moved from Liverpool was not because his salary was small, as long as Mane in Liverpool uniform has never been included in the list of the top three Ballon d'Or. Mane wants to find a new adventure to achieve his ambition to win the Ballon d'Or. Bayern Munich really dominates the Bundesliga, it's difficult for RB Leipzig and Dortmund to break Munich dominance, this Bundesliga giant is also successful in Europe. Mane can realize his ambition with Munich.
Agree with what you say because money is not the main goal of this player considering that he contributes a lot to social activities in his country by spending his personal money.
I think his reasons from the start were clear enough, he wanted to find new experiences with a new atmosphere in the competition. When it comes to money, it is clear that Liverpool still have a chance because if you look at them before, they have also offered an extension contract with an excessive salary.
I was so shocked learning how much he earns at Liverpool. Mane's performance and work rate at the club is enough to earn him £350,000 per week at Arsenal, Manchester city, Manchester United, PSG, or any top club. Mane has given everything for his club yet he earns little. I won't blame him for leaving though he deserves more and better and even knowing how he uses his salary to feed the poor and build infrastructures for his country, he deserves better.
2072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: June 20, 2022, 08:16:46 PM
But it would be better for City to sell him at this moment, fearing Sterling is not willing to extend his contract or maybe City won't renew his contract. Since that is the case, Sterling will be a free player at the end of next season, therefore if it is possible for Chelsea to press on with a new higher offer then I think it can be an offer that will be agreed. Sterling himself has recently become a second choice player so yes, if his move to Chelsea made him a main player then of course that would be even better.
Manchester City confirmed will sell him this summer because they have no plan will renew his contract especially Man City already get 2 forward players Julián Álvarez and Haaland so small chance to him will playing regular and moved to another club will be wise decision if he want to get minutes to play and regarding him and Chelsea after 35 millions poundsterling offers rejected by Man City reported Chelsea will offers new bid which is higher however i don't know he will be suitable playing at Chelsea or not because this team need a typical players as finisher but Sterling had different style because he is more likely as winger but not pure of striker
I read the news about Manchester loaning out Alvarez. I'm not sure how true that is but he is still young and sending him out for more development wouldn't be a bad idea. They can still make use of Sterling for an extra year or sell him out this summer for a reasonable amount to recover some percentage of the huge money already spent on Haaland and Alvarez. Either way, I think Guardiola's attacking line is still ok and good to go.
2073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 20, 2022, 08:11:21 PM
It is going to be really awkward for me to have this World Cup in a month like November. Because we have always been accustomed to watching this beautiful tournament in summers. But maybe I'm very prejudiced about this and it will still be a lot of fun. However this will change the order of everything also. Because there is going to be a huge break for the domestic leagues then. This can cause the fixtures to be even tighter after the World Cup ends. Or maybe the season would end very late compared to normal.
Yeah, when the Covid pandemic came upon us it changed a lot. Lots of activities went on hold for quite a hold while, and events had to be moved to later dates some even had to be moved to the next year, so some of this effects are what we are still experiencing until now and it had caused a lot of changes in the normal routine in sporting activities also. We just have to adjust to this changes, some might turn out to cause inconvenience to other activities but we just have to fix in to make it happen.
2074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 winner - Real Madrid! on: June 18, 2022, 06:42:46 PM
Real Madrid became the most successful team in this Champions League, with 14 times winning the title is certainly a very good achievement they did. I think they deserve that especially they never lack players who are very good in every area. Another plus, they have a strong mentality which I don't think other teams have at least for now.
Real Madrid were just destined for the tittle they won last season, because I don't see them winning Liverpool if not that luck was on their side, and that they were destined to win.Theh had a very successful season which was pivotal to their winning the champions league.Liverpool was my favourite to win the tittle, but Real madrid proved to every one that they've worked hard alot to get to the finals without going back home with the trophy.Their mentality was really good as well.Last season was theirs, maybe next season will be for another team.

I admit the Champions League final Liverpool played better than Real Madrid, but I don't agree that Real Madrid won the trophy by luck.
Before beating Liverpool even Real Madrid managed to get rid of several other strong teams, meaning that it is only natural that Real Madrid
can beat Liverpool in the Champions League final. The key to Real Madrid's success this season is of course hard work and Real Madrid do have
a winning mentality. Because Real Madrid is strengthened by several players who have won the Champions League trophy several times,
So Real Madrid has a stronger mentality than Liverpool.

Regarding the Champions League winner next season is more difficult to predict, because some strong teams have strengthened their squad
by bringing in new players, meaning that there is a possibility that the winner of the Champions League trophy next season will belong
to another team. After all Liverpool must have learned from the defeat they suffered in the Champions League final, Jurgen Klopp is a smart coach,
he will plan a new strategy, more effective to win the Champions League next season. So Real Madrid must be careful if they meet Liverpool again
next season in the Champions League.
Definitely luck has a role or two to play in our daily life and activities but I also won't say Real Madrid was victorious totally on luck cause this team is good, they have young and hungry players, a good and experienced manager with a winning mentality. They eliminated top clubs like Chelsea, PSG and Manchester City on the way up to the final so I would say they were prepared for anything and deserved the win at the end. Every team is back to their strategy table we will see who will perform better and lift the trophy next season. I still believe Real Madrid to do it again though.

We do see these days in the world of football that The rules of financial fair play are not being followed to a sufficient extent. You now see a player being offered even managerial roles and big wages just to keep them, clubs with rich owners spending lots of money above stipulated levels. No one is ready to start small and these rules are supposed to be guides to protect the game. These laws are supposed to be followed effectively.
If the UEFA regulatory authorities remain silent on this issue, then it means that the boundaries of what is permitted are being observed. Let's be realistic, when club owners have such a lot of money, they have qualified lawyers and will find ways to legally conduct these operations. This is the so-called gray zone, where there are already some doubts about the legality, but still, in theory, everything remains within the law. In the case of Newcastle, I would like to say the following: on the one hand, the club needs a lot of money to build a competitive squad, on the other hand, they seem to have the opportunity to spend more, because they spent little on the squad before.
I agree with you that If the UEFA regulatory authorities are silent on the issue, It is okay to say the boundaries of what is permitted is expected but it is also possible for this reach clubs with qualified lawyers to work their way out of financial restrictions dealing with transfers and monetary matters and financial fair play restrictions so definitely there are some doubts about the system and these deals. To maintain order, these laws and guidelines have to be effectively observed and followed.
2076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON 2023 qualifiers. on: June 17, 2022, 08:31:05 PM
Anything I realized Nigeria isn't participation in the world cup, it sadden my soul especially as it's our rival that kicked us out of the tournament. It's not surprised that Ghana could knock Nigeria out of the qualifiers because then the Nigeria professional football players were playing badly they could not even score a goal at the Ghanaian home but when they came over to Nigeria thyyhasd a game played and followed it.

They just had to scored then defense which they did very well. We just have to wait until the AFCON 2023 qualifiers resume to watch our boys play and thankfully our players are now playing good football even though it's too early to judge them but I believe they are desperate to win some silver wears.
It is a pity that Nigeria didn't qualify. I blame the mode for qualification of the African teams. All African teams have to go through the final knock-out duels where Nigeria had a close encounter with Ghana but subsequently lost due the away goal rule. I am sure that Nigeria would have beaten almost all other of the final 10 teams (except maybe Senegal) and qualify for the World Cup. I doubt that teams like Cameroon or Tunisia will show a good performance like Nigeria would have shown at the World Cup, but maybe they can surprise us.

I think Nigeria is one of the strongest teams in Africa. They are able to play well against European and American teams. On the other hand, teams like Tunisia, Cameroon, and Morocco will not be able to put up a strong resistance against European or American teams. My guess is that all the teams in Africa except Senegal will be eliminated in the first round. Although Ghana is good enough, but I don't think they can beat Group H's Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
In the world of football any thing can happen, an underdog can come out victorious at the end. I wouldn't write off anyone though. Nigeria is the strongest in Africa but they failed to qualify. Anyone who is able to qualify is worthy and should represent the continent. We just have to support them and wish them well.

Sadio Mane is not a like to like player to lewadovski, I don't think Bayern Munich are bringing him to play the striker role, after completing the mane transfer they should go for a proper striker, after watching Darwin Nunes last season at Benfica I thought to myself that he can replace Robert lawandowski at Bayern Munich but they were never interested.
Inter Milan should stop demanding so much for skrinar he is not worth that or maybe is because is PSG that's why they are asking much,

The problem for Bayern is that they're losing Lewandowski on a free, so a world-class striker is leaving and they're not getting any money for him.
There are relatively few world-class strikers that Bayern can get without paying a huge transfer feee, so they're probably limited to those, like Mane, who are nearing the end of their contracts. I'm not sure they could afford the huge financial outlay on someone like Nunez.
Unfortunately for Bayern, everyone knows they're desperate, and that could cause them to pay over the odds for whoever they bring in.

I think it is actually worth it to get someone who will be able to be a really good replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The thing is they need to keep in mind that they are not just replacing any other player. They are replacing Robert Lewandowski who has been a great performer for them for a long time and he is in great form even though he is quite old.

So, I really don't think they should have any problem. But the only problem as you mentioned is they are losing Lewandowski for free and that is going to have a big effect on the financial situation of the club but as a club that almost wins the leg title, every season should have enough money to pull off a transfer like this.
Sadio Mane would make a good replacement for Lewandowski. Mane is a very good player and will perform brilliantly at Bayern Munich as he did at Liverpool perhaps more. Liverpool will be really lucky to cash in big for a player at the age of thirty. We will see how well Liverpool can progress next season without the Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Firmino trio.

Manchester City has always had a high target in the Champions League, Pep Guardiola is indeed ambitious to bring Manchester City to win this prestigious competition on the plains of Europe. However, their struggles always run aground, even though the composition of the team is very promising. Indeed in this case I say that luck has not been on his side.
After Haaland in the squad, I believe the dream could happen. the team will get stronger if Haaland can organize his new partner Julian Alvarez, from River Plate in front, only if Pep implements a new strategy with 2 attackers (3-5-2). but if impossible, Haaland will be a single attacker like in Dortmund, even though that position is very risky for to him get injured.

Injury of a football player like Haaland? I think no one would want such a thing, he is a very young football player and is already among the best in the world.
The squad is quite strong, but I'm very curious as to what the team's strategy will be. Playing with only one striker may not be the right choice. They will want to create a stronger and stronger team Smiley
the arrival of Erling Haaland to the Etihad stadium will make Guardiola very dependent on the striker where currently Manchester city is playing without a pure striker they rely more on their midfielders to score goals which is proven when Kevin de Bruyne becomes the top scorer for Manchester city, will It is very interesting to watch Haaland take part in the English Premier League this season, I am very sure that his arrival will make Manchester City even more solid in the domestic arena and also in the UCL.
Indeed with Manchester city adding Erling Haaland to their for the next campaign is a plus and will bring significant boost and improve the squad. It will add more power to their attack, they will score more goals and win more games easily. You could call Guardiola name but one thing is sure, He is a very good coach and with his tactics he is winning trophies and when he finally wins the champions league trophy it will be reward for his excellence in the past years.

Newcastle United seem to be making big moves this summer; this is what a wealthy owner does for a football club of such heritage. After signing a defensive talisman in Bruno in January, a statement midfield signing + attacking prowess would mean Newcastle would challenge for an european spot this season, do you see this achievable ?
Newcastle have a lot of money so far and that will allow them to present stiff competition in the Premier League by upgrading their team with top players. The Europa League is a big achievement for them next season, that would be a realistic target in my opinion. But of course they need to have some players who can help reach that level next season.

I'm hoping for some great transfers next season for Newcastle, it will help him compete with other mid-table teams more tightly and maybe they will become another top team in the Premier League if handled by great people.
We do see these days in the world of football that The rules of financial fair play are not being followed to a sufficient extent. No one is ready to start small and these rules are supposed to be guides to protect the game. These laws are supposed to be followed effectively.

Nigerians can win comfortably now because they have recalled some quality players, and the kind of formation the coach is using now is the best for them, Osimhen upfront is very good, and very fast, making every defender to be terrified when he is coming with the ball.
Right now the team is in a good shape, and and they have a winning mentality  which makes them have the confidence of winning any team that comes their way.

Isn't this the exact same thing we say about every new manager that Nigeria hires. I remember when the previous coach Gernot Rohr took over management of the team. Everyone was praising him but after few games things return to normal. What we need to judge this new coach is trophy and not just good games. The country Nigeria just played against are very small and not football oriented. It more like Norwich playing against Manchester City, everyone knows City (Nigeria) will destroy them.

While I must admit, the goal margin is awesome and them evening keeping a clean sheet was the icing on the cake. Now we can top the group for the qualifiers easier and hopefully the new players can build their chemistry and become a strong force as they ones were.
So far we have been seeing positive signs from the super eagle's side, judging from the dos and Don'ts the new coach has made clear to the players, which shows he supports discipline. Their last game also showed great improvement winning the game comfortably even if they played against a weaker side but they showed seriousness, controlled and possessed the game in both halves and converted their chances and came victorious with 10 goal to nil that is a good performance and we hope they remain consistent and getting results.
