Even if you know more than everyone on this forum,  you're still a newbie in bitcointalk, therefore being new here requires that you humble yourself. Find out if some people on this forum knows better about what you want to mentor concerning bitcoin and how they go about it. With all due respect I say that you sound arrogant in your threads and if I'm looking for someone to mentor me, I doubt that it will be you.

I'm sure everyone now seems to believe and agree that the best service provided by resellers or sellers will make customers come back to your store. I believe this is one technique that every seller needs to implement if they want to have repeat customers. I can take one example; a clothing store will have loyal customers who will return to shop at the store if the seller is friendly and serves his customers well.

Good service will keep your chances good to generate stable turnover every month. There are several stores that can adopt promo or discount strategy, it really depends on the type of goods you sell. But of course the best service is the most important.
I am sure that first of all you need to provide high quality products if you are a manufacturer, in this case, if you have a wholesale. But if you are a retailer, then you absolutely need to maintain a high customer service and also ensure that the quality of the products is at a high level, because the best service will not help you if the customers will complain about poor quality. You can also think about increasing the range, and preferably high-margin products.

Personally I store different qualities of products brands, so when a customer asks for a brand and cannot afford to pay for it, I'll show another brand that is within the range that the customer can afford. Although I make sure that the customer understands the quality differences and allow him to make the choice of buying what he can afford or come back another day to purchase the other brand.

So in essence a retailer can sample high and low qualities of a particular type of product by different manufacturers, so that customers can decide on the quality that they want. Most times the choice of the product to buy depends on the purchasing power of the customer. But it is very important for the seller to be sincere and let the customer know the different qualities of the type of product that he wants to buy.

Lastly to maximize profit in business, the seller needs to stock more of the products that sells more. So far the customer is aware of the quality that he's buying.

2065  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What was your biggest fear with starting in crypto? on: May 29, 2023, 10:06:37 PM
Genuinely want to know what prevents your friends/gf/ colleagues from investing? Did you have any barriers when you first started?

Lack of experience and lack of money was my reason for not investing in Bitcoin from the very beginning when I joined the industry back in 2015. I wasn't capable of sparing the money that was needed to buy as Bitcoin as them I was a very youny man that was just struggling to get food to eat and was schooling at the same time and taking care of myself all alone. Things will be different now if I was just starting because the means to generate the money has been known. Also lack of experience played its role because when I finally had some spare money for myself I didn't invest them wisely and lost majority of them in the 2018 bear market.

I never for one day believe the stories of Bitcoin been a scam, I even got to know about bitcoin from a ponzi scheme (called MMM) that took over my country and every young and old then was caught in the fever. Before then I never knew anything like investing so Bitcoin caught my interest and I to this day, it has had many impact in my life. I don't regret any decisions I have taken upto this day because they all taught me a lesson and all part of my story. I won't do things exactly the same if I had a second chance to start all over because the experience I have gathered are very valuable and I believe they'll help me in the journey ahead.

"MMM" made me to believe that all online investments were scams. After a lot of people lost their money to the ponzi fraudster. In fact i had that fear until I joined bitcoitalk and began to have a better understanding of bitcoin, that first it is legit and not a ponzi scheme. So I'll say my greatest fear was getting scamed by someone that I haven't seen before and I can not sue.
2066  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Food dragging at events on: May 29, 2023, 09:21:34 AM
Wetin I think be day people like awoof, free things, to chop where dem no work. Another reason wey I see be say people no like make dem cheat them, one proverb say "if them do woman as dem take do other women, im mind go sweet". Meaning say somewhere in human nature, nobody want carry last, even for small matters. So I believe say we need to define the kind character way we want, otherwise we go de behave and de react like most people.

Make I no lie, I de behave like that before until I come refine my character. Before I go any occasion now, I go make sure say I eat Belle full for my house, so if i reach the occasion whether food reach me or not, I no mind. Sometimes self if the food no make sense for my eyes, I no go collect am.
2067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STAGNATION OF BITCOIN PRICE FOR WEEKS on: May 28, 2023, 04:13:58 PM
There have been concerns and allegations circulating about Binance, suggesting that they may have commingled investors' funds with their own revenue. Some argue that this has led to the recent market collapse. However, despite the fear, we haven't witnessed a significant sell-off. It appears that Bitcoin is experiencing its typical fluctuations and is relatively stable at the moment. Nevertheless, it's crucial to approach investments with caution. If we cannot weather the downturns in the market, it becomes challenging to generate profits.

I've always known that in any trading there will always be fluctuations, it's charts moving up and down to favor some while disfavoring others. Something must be the cause, whether internal or external, so if bitcoin is experiencing fluctuations, it is to be expected, it depends on the trader to asses situation and make favorable decisions. So I agree with you that it is important to approach investment with caution, in order to minimize or totally avoid loses.
2068  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Patricia breached, bitcoin and naira stolen. on: May 28, 2023, 12:22:35 PM
I hope you know what Patricia is? A platform located in Nigeria that you can trade bitcoin, few other cryptocurrencies and gift cards. But I think it offers more, which you can see in the image below:

This is another example of not your key not your coin. Withdrawal as been suspended on Patricia indefinitely.

https://twitter.com/PatriciaSwitch/status/1662049215772516352?t=BTNf10Oo158vorot9LlNsw&s=19

If you do not trade, move your coins out of any exchange to a reputed noncustodial wallet. Cold wallets which are safer are recommended. I have opened account on Patricia before, not that good for trading as only few coins are listed and not supporting derivatives market. I am surprised that some people still trade and leave their coins and naira on Patricia.

I just hear of this Patricia, for the first time here. Scams na very big problem for inside online businesses, and problem be say you no know whether the scam na internal or external, because some fraudsters go open business with the aim of defrauding unsuspecting customers. Anyway the biggest lesson wey I don learn for here as a beginner be say e de safe and better to keep our assets for inside a noncustodial wallet, to avoid story for our hard earned money. If this Patricia, dey legit, I hope say make them come back stronger, so people no go loose trust for online businesses in Nigeria.
2069  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Overcoming my fear of bitcoin and online businesses on: May 28, 2023, 09:43:13 AM
It seems that you may have some gaps in your understanding of Bitcoin and its functioning. However, you're in the right place to expand your knowledge and gain more insights. Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency that allows you to purchase and store it in your own digital wallet. By holding Bitcoin in a non-custodial wallet, you become the sole custodian of your funds, acting as your own bank. Based on your post, it appears that you may consider acquiring a hardware wallet, which offers enhanced security for your assets. With a hardware wallet, your funds remain fully secure, and unauthorized access is virtually impossible unless your private keys or seed phrase are compromised. Therefore, apart from the inherent price volatility associated with Bitcoin, there is little to fear when exploring this cryptocurrency.

I have learnt quite a lot about bitcoin since I joined this forum and I'm revisiting your post to say thank you for your advice on how i can start bitcoin. You said bitcoin is decentralized and I can purchase and store in my own noncustodial wallet, and also purchase a hardware wallet for enhanced security of my asset. Also to keep an eye on the price volatility of bitcoin. So the fear that has been holding me back from embarking on this journey of bitcoin trading is gone, thanks to you and other members that have encouraged me so far. So I'm happy to announce to you that I'll start soonest.

2071  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: May 27, 2023, 03:45:55 PM
Marketing is the major factor that helps in better profiting from the business. Adding more and more choice of payment and some discounts is a way through which new customers can be attracted. Best thing is the word of mouth spreading. For this to happen we should have our unique product/service, which means our service can't be availed by any others. If someone after using the product/service will share their experience to their close ones. This surely tempt the second person and the person's satisfaction is a must to reach the third person and this continues.

I agree with you, in summary excellent and delightful services matters in business. A satisfied customer will market your business and product free of charge to to others. As a business person I have a lot of experiences about new customers telling me that it was x or y customer that referred them to my shop. The reason why most of them buy from me is not always because of the products, because they can get it from another shop, but because of the way I treat them. I have a philosophy that customer is king, and I treat them as such, and it has been increasing my sales over the years thereby increasing my profits too.
2072  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Overcoming my fear of bitcoin and online businesses on: May 27, 2023, 01:33:08 PM

Until recently, and before knowing this place I always thought that anything trading or business online is a fraud.

Your post shows the resolve to learn about bitcoin and all around it and this platform is going to help you do that in the long run but don't throw your guards away to embrace everyone and everything online to be true and genuine in whatever is said to you. Many people may yet approach you for investment but be wise and ask questions.

On your own part, there are things you need to do to secure your financial investment like you don't have to compromise your wallet address, keep every password away from third party. Bitcoin is a decentralised digital currency and so you don't need third parties interference. Don't oblige email messages requiring your response or reply when you don't know the sender or not expecting any email.

You can check to read more about bitcoin here

Bitcoin decentralized nature makes it more important that traders and investors should not share sensitive information like wallet addresses and passwords like you mentioned above, because it is an anonymous structured business. By this I understand that we have scammers in the crytocurrency  business. So the issue of trust is not guaranteed. I'm glad that I've not heard any member mention anything about bitcoin system being compromised by scammers. So people in bitcoin can only be scammed by their own ignorance. This is the more reason why I believe that this educative and interactive forum is the best place for any bitcoin business person.

2074  Economy / Economics / Re: Which stocks to buy? on: May 26, 2023, 06:09:37 PM
What some people do not know is that stocks too are highly volatile too.
Maybe I'm just an old fart, but if there are people here who have no clue what the volatility difference is between the stock market and bitcoin (not to mention altcoins) or simply that the stock market is volatile at times, they really ought to learn a bit about finance before plowing a bunch of money into anything.

And yes, as I said stocks can be volatile--but overall it's nowhere near the level of bitcoin.  The wild swings have seemingly settled down as of late, but you don't generally see 20% (or more) gains or losses in the course of a day in the stock market, and if that were to happen it'd be front page news.  But that kind of volatility has been seen in the bitcoin market repeatedly, and everybody just yawns.

OP, do a lot more research before trying to pick stocks to buy, and don't rely on people's posts unless they seem well-informed.  The fact is that we've been in a sustained bull market for well over a decade now and at the moment stocks are overvalued in general.  So if you buy some tech stock with no earnings or a P/E >25 or so, you're probably buying near the high.  The safest thing to do (and it's been recommended by many economists and financial advisors) is to buy into an index fund that tracks one of the major indexes.  That way you're basically betting on the stock market as a whole and not on a single company.

Good luck in whatever you do.  Markets are crazy right now, so get a feel for things before making a move.

I was naive like the OP before I joined bitcoitalk forum. Now I understand more about the decentralized nature of bitcoin and it's advantage over company stocks. With what I've learned so far here and the level of confidence of members about the profitability of bitcoin, I believe that it is the way to go, as far as trading and investment business goes.

As you have noted, we newcomers don't need to rely solely on posts made by members, there is need to carry out research before doing anything. For that I'm thankful for the educative links that I've come across in this forum, that enlightens on the many hadvantages of bitcoin.
2075  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: May 26, 2023, 05:06:35 PM
Please feel free to drop your own ideas on how to increase profit in businesses.

Quote
customer is king and should be treated like a royalty.

Not always. There are some "toxic" customers and time-wasters who come to your shop without intention to buy anything. You will lose your time and efforts to sell but the deal is impossible as they were not even considering buying anything initially.

Quote
Stock different brands of the products that you sell.

Sometimes this works against you too. If you sell items of one or few specific brands, you have your own loyal customers, easier to control stock, do accounting, buy items etc. This saves a vast amount of time and work. The more time and energy you have, the more you can achieve.

You're correct about toxic customers who just walk into a shop without any intention of buying anything. I personally treat all my customers with utmost respect, because there's no way of knowing a serious customer unless when you're attending to them. But if I'm convinced that they've come to make trouble, I'll politely ask such a person to leave my shop. Stocking specific brands works for big business people, but small business people like me sells more when we stock different varieties of brands that customers can choose from.
2076  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Overcoming my fear of bitcoin and online businesses on: May 26, 2023, 03:23:37 PM
Number 1 : The first is I don't have to continue in the shadow of my fear and continue to run away from it. Fear is in the mind and no where else. I have to confront my mind to tackle this. As I'm doing this I also encourage anyone having fear of anything to confront it.
You don't have to lose your fear, fear and skepticism are what keeps us away from making wrong choices. Always be doubtful of any venture which is presented to you cause it very likely is a scam.
By confronting your fear, you do your diligent research and try to convince yourself that this is not a scam.

Any more advice by members on how to increase my confidence level and learning will be humbly received by me.
Use the search option effectively, all the information you seek is available on the forum which is a repertoire for Bitcoin knowledge.
Also, this is an anonymous online forum, feel free to ask questions and discuss as freely as you wish to, and grow a thick skin to take criticisms and a bit of trolling.

Search option is very informative to learning about bitcoin. Bitcointalk forum is very educative and it equips members, especially new ones on guides to the journey of bitcoin, so as to avoid costly financial mistakes in the trading and investments. And of course anybody that wants to get better in anything that they're into must accept criticism, it is better to see things from different perspectives to broaden our understanding. I love the anonymous nature of the forum, because it reduces familiarity, so you're more free to respond to posts the way you really feel.

2078  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: May 25, 2023, 08:25:16 PM
The internet space actually offers much greater opportunities for side business (even permanent), but it needs to measure some things that are generally not different from real-world businesses such as skills to adapt to market needs, financial ability to determine the scale of business, and environmental interests.
Of course, to build a new business in the midst of difficult times is really hard work and requires a lot more evaluation.

It is important to have a side job or investment, because of the inflation that is hitting many countries, making the cost of living to be quite high. Personally I've realized that one of the best places to get a side income or a permanent business is the internet, an example is bitcoin investment or trading, because it requires mainly your intelligence and time to earn money in the comfort of your home, as against a job, that requires your physical presence in a place of work. I also agree that if someone has the opportunity it is important to  acquire skill outside of your work area, these skills can became a side business to support  inflow of income.

Haterz gonna hate.

Call him in a year or two when the price, imo, will be like 10x .

Straight to the point, success is everybody's friend. If you succeed in what you believe in, the same people who mocked you will be the same people to celebrate you, it's a fact of life. Bitcoin is the way forward to financial gains, in this age of advanced computerized technology.
2080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin retirement benefits on: May 24, 2023, 10:29:02 PM
While everything may seem fine, there is a small concern to be aware of. We acknowledge that Bitcoin has brought considerable gains to many individuals, but it's important to recognize that some people have also experienced losses with it. Let's imagine a scenario where you invested in Bitcoin when its price was $70,000, but by the time you retire, its price has dropped to $15,000. In such a situation, your financial circumstances would be significantly impacted. It's essential to consider these possibilities when contemplating investing in Bitcoin with the expectation that it will support you during retirement.

Nevertheless, we are aware that Bitcoin tends to follow historical patterns. Therefore, it requires patience to wait for favorable market conditions. It's prudent to have a backup plan, a Plan B, in case Bitcoin's value plummets during your retirement. This ensures that you have alternative strategies in place to safeguard your financial stability.

I totally agree with you that it is very important to have a plan b, especially when we are planing about our finance regarding our retirement. Because if we don't plan right, we may not have a feasible plan b, when we're old and retired. Therefore as you have noted, it is important that when you invest in bitcoin to earn the financial returns in your retirement, you should have a plan b investment or savings, as an alternative in case the value of your bitcoin investment falls flat as at your retirement period. Nobody can really predict the future, therefore we should not put all our resources in one investment as regards to our retirement.
