Thank you for the helpful replies. It seems like I need to explain the advantages. If they like it so far, then some of the 'bad' things about Bitcoin (ponzis, scams...) and see if they're going to be alert. If they start to be unsure, assure them that it's just like normal currency. Should I start like that?

Well, title say all to be honest. How would you introduce them to Bitcoin? Let's say they don't exactly have the technical know-how. I've been with Bitcoin for a while, but still don't understand it fully either, so this will help me as well along the way. Thank you

When you're bored again, maybe try going on YouTube and watch some bloopers. The News bloopers are funny. Really funny. Trust me, you'll laugh. NewsBeFunny seems to be one of the great news blooper channels. Just check it out!

I first started with Bitcoin by earning them with faucets, which was back in late 2013. When I had acquired some more knowledge on mining, I started to mine. It didn't work too well, as I got virtually nothing.

Localbitcoin because they've got people to trade with into AUD, but will switch to Coinbase when it supports Australia because I use it as my online wallet to store small amounts of Bitcoins.

First off, I think Satoshi did not think it would last that long, but still had that tiny hope that it would become a success, but not this big. He did plan out for it to be able to be mined over 100 years, as many had pointed out. I think he did realise that the world did not have something similar to Bitcoin, and thought that it needed it, so he had some assurance that it would be somewhat popular. But I don't think Satoshi expected Bitcoin to last this long. He would've thought it would fade away.

The next big thing is another big drop in the price.
Agreed. The value seems to be decreasing and decreasing, doesn't it? Well, it's the 15/04 now, and I don't see anything big... yet. Maybe when I wake up, turn on my computer, and Satoshi reveals himself? Or maybe nothing? I have a feeling this is a hoax... But you never know.

Best way for a Newbie to earn money on Bitcointalk is by joining a Signature Campaign (777coin like mine). This is where you put some advertising into the bottom part of your posts. You can do this by copying and pasting the sig that applies to you. Apply here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=840124.0 <- Instructions there too. I joined this a few weeks back, and it has been great, considering that I was a newbie at that point. There seems to very few campaigns that accept newbies. There are also other ways to make money here such as selling a service that you offer.

![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I didn't know that MAc also has virus ? Yeah, Mac OS, just as any other operating system out there, are vulnerable to viruses. Windows is the most vulnerable. Mac, due to their Unix based OS, contain several safeguards build right in. It also contains Gatekeeper, which prevents apps that has not been digitally signed and approved from Apple from being installed. But there are no systems that have no security flaws, so Macs can be prone to viruses as well. Linux is considered the safest, with many reasons behind it. Just search it up; there are too many reasons. Back to the question, I highly recommend Little Snitch for all Mac users. This is a program that helps identify and block specific programs from transferring data between you and them (you do it manually). Pretty much a network monitor. This program goes well along with any antivirus, but I'd say Sophos Antivirus for Mac is one of the best. Avast is also good, but not as good as Sophos in my opinion.

hi there, i just want to know if there is a chance that i can find a block even my hashrate is 2231 khash/s?
Why not, think your chances of winning the lottery might be higher, but you've got to be in it to win it. Hey! If you have 2 computers, you can double your hash! It's like having 2 lottery tickets! 2 times 0 (effective chance of 'winning') is still 0 But people still buy lottery tickets don't they? Funny isn't it, knowing that you've pretty much got no chance winning it, but you still have that one small glint in the distance. I guess people know that they can win big. Anyways, I don't think at 2231kH/s, you'll be able to get any Bitcoin, both with pool and solo mining.

Buy altcoins.
Sell altcoins.
Repeat.
Avoid shitcoins like plague. Shitcoins are for greedy people. There is a 1% chance that shitcoins will double your investment. But don't forget the 99% chance of losing your investment completely. Interesting stats, contrary to most info out there, but kudos for creativity... I'll stick with making profit ![Kiss](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/kiss.gif) There will ALWAYS be altcoins and as a result there will ALWAYS be people trading them for profit. Altcoins seem risky, but what altcoin seems to be doing well right now?
