idk...if this coin gets the attention of a botnet runner we are in trouble... in the mean time, it seems like most new alt-currencies have favourable difficulty that can be solo-d. so yeah...let's solo this one.... even though i wanna hit the op with a spanner for letting me mine with yacoin cpu miner.
you better give me a bounty for that !!!!

oh well, there is always the crowd that hates progress, although he could just go and mine it. We now have a nightly visitor who puts close to 20mh all night then leaves in the morning, i draw attention to this because it show the algo is holding out just fine and everyone is happy. I'd also like to ask you guys to join in the discussion at cryptsy to encourage people to come join the party and also please express your interest in trading this coin there. Send Pms and tweet bigvern asking him to add it to the exchange. thanks and happy mining.

ok, i am making the client now. i'll put my pledge up when i post the sources and windows client.

ok, i contacted the guy who makes nice icons and logos. he is looking into it and we'll see results soon. Should i begin mocking up the client? i think it would also be fair if i mainly gave the initial distribution to everyone who showed an interest. I dont believe in the "0 reward until everyone is ready" coz the the guys who show initial interest who get an idea going.
so lets decide on a few specifics and i can get to making the client. i suggest the cap be 50k and a block size (for growth) to be 0.00000001 (almost like onecoin) with block target of 5 minutes to discourage farms from trying to rape the coin. another option is to make every tenth block have the reward to really piss of the opportunists.
thoughts and ideas? these are the currently tradeable ones that we can back with, the list is being added to the op and will be updated regularly.

OMG. Did you use cpuminer from the link in OP post? Try also to add "-s 1" to minerd options, this will make cpuminer get the latest information from wallet every second.
yeah i put it on my server, nothing so far, yeah i've put the -s 1, we'll see if there is any change.

never mind, i'll just go back to my gpu mined stuff, at this hash rate it'll be a miracle to even get a single block with my i5. , funny thing is , i was amongst the first to get in and i come out empty handed. Don't get upset! You didn't miss a lot, the block reward is still less than 1/5 of its maximal value, and it was even lower before. Also I'm getting a plenty of blocks with my i5. one more try then

I have been working to bring this coin back to the front of Us themed coins. I'll update in a bit with the updated client that fixes most previous issues, the dev gave his blessing. Any ideas you'd like to see implemented?

Maximal money amount is one coin (actually 0.999999999987 because of rounding). Scrypt-jane implementation from Yacoin. Currently only CPU mining is possible. 2 minutes block target. Difficulty retargets each block (PPCoin's implementation). Maximal block reward: 500 nano-OTC. The first 1000 blocks will have no reward, then the reward will gradually grow up every 500 blocks to 500 nano-OTC during first 25500 blocks, and after that default rules will apply. This will ensure that the launch is fair. No premine! TX fee: 10 pico-OTC. Subsidy is cut in half every 1000000 blocks, which will occur approximately every 3.8 years. Decimal precision is changed from 8 digits to 18. Additional display units added to the QT client to make amounts more readable: nOTC, pOTC, fOTC, aOTC. Default port: 8555 (18555 for testnet). Default RPC port: 8554 (18554 for testnet). Onecoin is based on the latest Bitcoin sources and will follow Bitcoin updates closely.
