20661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Running Corsair 1200 & 1000 watt psu's near max capacity. Safe? on: March 23, 2018, 02:01:17 AM
Safe in electronics means "well within compliance" which means only a disaster would do any harm which given the probability, one in billions of cases.

Listen to Metroid. he know gpus will die this year.

The real deal is those psu will die in under a year the way you use them.

But WTF you have a warranty so why not?

I am being a bit nasty cause in my opinion you the op are not using your gear properly.

My opinion is the 1200 watt should read 900-1000 at the wall on a k watt meter

and the 1000 watt should read 700-800 at the wall on a k watt meter

killing gear and looking to get rmas hurts the gpu mining industry.

it also hurts the tax psu industry.

but safe as in burn down your home most likely your home will not burn down  .  your psu will die in a shorter time period and you burn more power at the higher  capacity

20662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Server PSU popped. Is it now a paper weight? on: March 23, 2018, 12:15:19 AM
So my server PSU woke me up with a loud pop last night. When i got to the rig it smelled burnt. It was one of my DELL 1400w server PSUs which was running at a load of 1000w.

Probably just because of poor refurbished quality but anyway, the breakout board won't light up anymore but none of the cables or the PSU case look burnt. I guess something just popped inside. My question is can this be repaired or do some people buy these kinds of PSUs? Or am i stuck with using this as a paper with or souvenir? What have you guys done with stuff like these?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

most likely junk

20663  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: March 22, 2018, 10:08:09 PM
what's the tl;dr answer to March shipping of these units?  Weren't the first batch promised to ship by March?
Well I'm not privy to what's going on in the factory but I also never sign any NDAs so I can tell you there is a mad scramble to get hardware out ASAP and they've been leaning hard on me to try and make sure the first firmware it's being released with works as reliably and solidly as possible. There will definitely be firmware updates in the future but for now things seem to be pretty close. I got involved very late in the piece and I've worked very hard in the last couple of weeks but there are limits to my time and just what I can achieve to get working code out.

One thing I have managed to achieve is to add tuning to the driver. The driver has a 5 stage tuning process to try and set the lowest stable voltage possible for minimal power consumption and then it tunes each chip individually to the highest frequency it will tolerate to try and optimise the hashrate. It also has a PID type fan controller to try and maintain optimal temperature with minimal fanspeed. There are a few emergency things included too in case of fan failure, chain dropouts etc.

So auto tune  like the s-9  with no option to down clock  or over clock?

Or do I misunderstand you?

Btw in no way  am I  voting for or against auto tune

why oh why did you wait
to complain to us

At this point in time I would not have any idea on how to fix the mess  that has been made.

but 60000 btu  - 28000 btu = 32000 btu  you have not dealt with.
20665  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTB] Bitmain Coupons - $300, $450, $500 on: March 22, 2018, 07:14:13 PM
I am looking for Bitmain coupons, values of $300, $450, $500.

If you are not looking to buy machines with them, sell them to me!

I will buy at these prices:

  • USD300 @ $60
  • USD450 @ $120
  • USD500 @ $150

Will use trusted escrow services on this forum, for both side's protection.

I escrowed for jesseco  on 2 deals that went smoothly.
20666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and ASIC Hosting (Mining4less.com) on: March 22, 2018, 06:41:40 PM
@Philipma - Thanks for business and it's an honor to host for a btctalk Legend as yourself.

@Eyedol-X - Houston Base

@Hawkfish007 - Thanks for the kind words.  Yes, I wanted them to open up to regular miners so we all can have access to a low cost quality provider.  Previously they only host for larger accounts.  As you know, this is their 3rd warehouse with a 4th opening up so I said why not open it up to the Public.  That's why I took the liberty to help them advertise on BTCTalk.

@DebitMe - Only ASIC hosting for now at this Facility.  GPU hosting may be open for the future but there are higher requirements for GPU hosting as it is also more resource intensive.

They also sell Mining supplies.  I buy most of my stuff thru them and Hawkfish007 / Finksy.

you flatter me.

I got first of six L3's today

been testing it and I have to get more to understand my results. At the moment it seems to run too good. (nice problem) Maybe I just got a good one.
20667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: March 22, 2018, 06:31:08 PM
I'd say what is my 'thumb rule' with almost all asics, below 90C to avoid miner failure and below 80C for longer life time.

okay then at  the under clock my gear is great.

I should have ordered these sooner.

6 of them is only 6 x 725 = 4350 watts

at the underclock  of freq 344

fans set to 35%  running at 2,640 and 3,540  this is bearable.

I can run six of them on a single  30 amp pdu  as 24 x 240 = 5760 watts  and I will be at 4350 watts

20668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: March 22, 2018, 05:57:41 PM
My first L3+ arrived today.  Fedex got it to me on time despite a 18 inch snow storm .

So I hook it up to an  antminer apw psu I down clock set fans to 40%

and I get a nice 450mh using 725 watts at the meter

impressed with power use.

I have 5 more on order.
going to solo mine  so the 450mh with lower sound and lower power works for me

Still doing some speed tweaks to mine. Trying to find the Frequency / Power sweat spot.
I just found out that 3 that came together off the same power supply can vary a lot.
As in 4% less power at the same frequency.
Going to leave each one on the test bench for a few days to see if it maintains that. 30 Watts is not a lot but it all counts.

20669  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Wtb Bitmain $450 coupons on: March 22, 2018, 05:43:16 PM
Okay I paid 100 each for the 2 I got.

While I will escrow it is just as much work to do on the small escrows. As the big ones.

So I will escrow for 12 bucks on

a 100 dollar each for  1 coupon    100 + 12
a 100 dollar each  for 2 coupons  200 + 12
a 100 dollar each  for 3 coupons  300 + 12
a 100 dollar each for  4 coupons  400 + 12
a 100 dollar each  for 5 coupons  500 + 12
a 100 dollar each  for 6 coupons  600 + 12

7 or more is 2 percent plus 0.0002 for tx fees

There are not many people selling 450 or 400 dollar coupons  I was happy to get the two I got.

I ended up buying 6 L3's

3 with 200 off = 600 off
1 with 220 off = 220 off
2 with 450 off = 700 off since I paid 200 for these

I got 1520 off

which is like buy 5 get one free

car generators/alternators  will go up to 16 volts if you are gunning  the engine.

I have  a link  for a dc to dc    somewhere someplace let me look for it.

 this is too much $$
and limits to 150 watts

20672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: March 22, 2018, 01:24:08 AM
@ suchmoon  a few members gave me some $200 coupons  bitmain  has  yet to do so.

O ordered a 4th unit today.

@searing   the solar array  will do 20kwatt of power 24/7/365 for the next 6 months.

we don't have that much used at the moment.

I also may mine the L3+s with  yun9999

my 12c kWh self here...hates you...(that in that where you live is friggin WARM..unlike Minnesota!)

Snowing like mad as I type  late snowstorm for us  but we have had them as late as april

I got a hold of a 450 coupon paid 100 for it

so I ordered a fifth L3+

will get a sixth  and be power capped

do these use 900 watts at the wall?
20673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: March 21, 2018, 11:35:59 PM
I bet you most
Of us had these at some point.

Still puts out after 5 years
hahaha yes have 1 of those and 1 in 450w lol

I've never owned a CM series and don't plan to ever do so.
I DID get a couple of the "refurb" AX 860 that Newegg had on sale last week though - first "Corsair" power supplies I've owned in decades - but only because they've been widely reported to be Seasonic KM3 under the hood like the SS-860 or X-850 supplies I own (but different pinout on at least some of the modular cables for some weird unknowable outside of Corsair reason).

I got them almost free after rebate like 5-10 years ago. was actually the first psu's i ever bought.

I had so many psu's  in my house and at the solar array I lost track.

I now buy corsair for atx   basically they sell replacement cables   at the best price.
20674  Other / Meta / Re: DT1 users abusing their power to increase their own trust on: March 21, 2018, 09:48:24 PM
Correlation does not imply causation
I know that. I insist, I just want to understand why DT1 members added those users
Do you find any explanation why nonnakip was added? You seem neutral, of course I'll really consider your possible explanation

If you really want to uncover abuse you need to dig deeper and you also need to be able to accept the outcome even if it doesn't match your preconceived notions. I'm starting to doubt that you're up to the task.
I know that too. I'm still digging deeper and help is much appreciated. Discarding everything is not helping, digging with me is

I'm open to be corrected and I'll admit if I'm wrong. But I'm not open to be discarded without arguments
philipma1957 is suspicious of me and that's perfectly fine. But he's really checked his list. Of course it's fine he keeps the users he considers must stay after his checking
I no longer believe he is abusing the trust system

OgNasty has just denied everything, even straightforward cases like nonnakip, and hasn't given any explanations about that at all

Tomatocage hasn't reacted yet. Let's see what happens

Well  here goes

CrazyGuy --- is a good seller  he stays
buysolar ---- is my partner in the solar array he stays he will also be doing the Canaan  training with me. he stays
generalt ---- has purchased from me multiple times I meet him in person many times he stays

  Kano-------- goes
I appreciate you re-checked them

I could argue that the people below could be removed but since I don't know why the op created the thread (other then the claim in the first thread)
I now need to leave these for a while.
Feedback from other users would be helpful here then. It seems you're very open to listening to them

I will get back to this thread in a bit and check the ones I bolded and left up just in case there was or is a hidden agenda by the op.

@ op  I realize you don't want to get tagged  and left you real forum name out and did a newbie post.

Maybe or maybe there is something else about the real you and you have agenda  against me or OgNasty to anyone you listed.

I know enough to know  that  I left all those names removed intact because you may be trying to scrub a negative off someone  and that is why I am at least suspicious since I now removed as many as I did has someone been  lift from negative to positive?

What assurance do I have that my actions did not help someone today by pruning the list?
.
You also gave me more work to do as I will need to check what happened by my deletions.
Do check what happened by your deletions. Do verify what would happen if you remove more users. Do keep your exclusions if you've checked them and don't trust the feedback they've left. Do leave negative trust to those whose trust stopped being red because of your exclusions (if any). Do not trust me. I'm happy you did check your trust list, whatever the result

I don't see how I could prove I don't have a hidden agenda, even if I disclose who I am

I really appreciate you didn't take this as an attack to you (even though you're suspicious) and instead were open to check your list

I have always been open to list changes.

It is a  fact    that  I don't mind pruning and checking my list.

I don't do it as much as I should and I don't mind being asked to do it.

as  for a trust list and what belongs on it  Well  I have been here years  and I have not been on the DT1 list for more then 3 of them

maybe 4 I don't really remember.

So anything I did from 2012 and 2013 and 2014 is pre DT1 list

It is a lot of work to really check it for every deal I do and there is a problem  as I  am more of a miner /seller and I try to promote

coins in general in the mining world.

Basically If you check me  out on the meta threads I don't post much.

I post in
 Mining altcoins
 Mining bitcoins
 Marketplace

I would think  80%  of my posts are there.
My trusts are based more on good buyers and sellers.
But I also support other people with trusts.

I will check back on the other names  that I did not list at all but gave me positive feedback.

The real issue is  I am on the DT1 list  and I sell and buy a lot in the marketplace Along with escrow services.

But I was asked to go on the list by theymos  I said sure.

I stay on it  simply because he did not ask me to leave the list.
20675  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Wtb Bitmain $450 coupons on: March 21, 2018, 09:29:47 PM
I purchased one 450 coupon from

sarakuka

I used it to get a antminer L3+

Paid him 101 usd for it from my coinbase account.
20676  Other / Meta / Re: DT1 users abusing their power to increase their own trust on: March 21, 2018, 09:04:32 PM
My issue with op is you hid behind a newbie account.
So If I prune more maybe you are looking to hurt people  that should not be pruned.
Ie you could be OgNasty for all I know  or anyone it is obvious you  have an older account  and used a newbie account.
Again. You should check at my arguments and decide for yourself. It shouldn't matter who I am

for now here is the newer list
Here are some comments about some of the users listed by you:

CrazyGuy: hasn't left any trust in a long time
kano: no conflict of interests as he hasn't left trust to you, but has left only one single trust and it was 5 years ago. I don't see why you consider he should be on DT2
Cablez: hasn't left any trust in a long time
davecoin: no negative trust left at all (no scammers tagged)
buysolar: only 3 positive trust left, 2 of them to you. The last left feedback was 3 years ago
not.you: not active during the last year but has tagged some scammers
btcxcg: Only 5 positive trust left, including yourself. No negatives sent. Last feedback was 4 years ago
generalt: No negative trust sent. Last (positive) feedback sent was one year ago
Mikestang: Last feedback was sent 2 years ago, but he did tag 1 scammer at least
vg54dett: Only 6 positive trust left, including yourself. No negatives sent at all
AriesIV10: Positive trust only to 2 users, including yourself, only one negative sent

I'd appreciate if you can check again kano, buysolar, btcxcg, vg54dett and AriesIV10
(other users, post your comments about these members. I don't want philipma1957 or others to believe I have personal issues against any of them)
And you may consider adding users who leave much more feedback after you verify they're not abusing as I didn't find any really active user in your list

I'll check OgNasty's and Tomatocage's lists later

Well  here goes

CrazyGuy --- is a good seller  he stays

Mikestang ---- stays because you the op wants to be anonymous
vg54dett ------ stays because you the op wants to be anonymous
AriesIV10 ------ stays because you the op wants to be anonymous

I need to leave them just in case the op has an agenda not revealed in his opening thread.

I have not reached or discussed the 70 on the list of  feedback given to me and not on the list.

All of them were left off basically because these thread pop up.

I will get back to this thread in a bit and check the ones I bolded and left up just in case there was or is a hidden agenda by the op.

@ op  I realize you don't want to get tagged  and left you real forum name out and did a newbie post.

With ETH Difficulty rise from 1.5 to 3.0 in Dec/Jan i betting there are ETH asics as well.

I agree since gpus are not being sold yet diff goes up and up

Bro Phil, what do you think about Vegas and some 550's/1050s jumping on eth? aren't they enough to pull up such diff?

no  from 1.5 to 2.0  maybe but not double.

of course  the mining only p102-100 and p104-100  may have done a lot to the hash rate jump

I put in
~
as a tracking method as it does the job on lowering the ratings the same as a delete

If there is an issue I will delete instead.

I know the op did not want to get tagged but since I have no idea now of whom he or she was I did not fully prune my list as I see that there are 3 to 4 more I could remove.

I have always stated in these threads  when they pop up a few things:

1) I Never asked for default trust 1 rating
2) pm me with issues on my list.

here is something new
philiparcario@yahoo.com  is my email  send me emails if you want privacy  since pm's are not private

So  I will just delete them  rather then ~
