In my opinion is it not that important with a new addy for each transaction. If using escrow then must the addy be in OP too, that asshole has pulled out the same trick pretending to be Yankee.
If someone start a collecting a bounty that we can put on this guys head, then will I tip in. He has scammed the community of at least 10 BTC. He might have gotten lazy and transfer loot directly to exchange or trader on localbitcoins. In that case would it be pretty easy of a bounty hunter to track him down.
Sorry bitguy for hickjacking the thread.
OT: bitguy101 has a beautiful MS65 error coin for sale.

Hi ,
Brand new to coins, but I read in some previous announcements, that you were considering changing the coin parameters. What is the current POS and what are you planning to change it too? And if you change the POS parameters won't you slow down the speed of the coin? Thanks in advance for your answers.
If you want to try out a PoS coin, and minting your own coin - then is buying MINT a great time. There is a whole new management and dev team in place, looks very promising (imo). By the way, it take approximately 20 days for your coins to mature, which means if you transfer MINT to your mint-wallet today, then will it take ~20 days before you can earn the interest your own coins.

It is not decided if or how the spec should be changed, at this point is there an open discussion about it, feel free to share your opinion. About the "the speed of the coin", if you mean the confirmation time, then have I not heard about any suggestion to change this. The stake reward is independently of the block confirmations.

Every sale has that loser trying this...we need to post a payment addy in OP or PGP message to prevent this!
+1 All of us really need to do this. We need to make it standard when selling coins here - to protect the potential buyers. I have seen so many newbies being scammed by this horrible trick, and it makes me same sick in my stomach each time. If you get scammed like this when trying to buy your first physical coin, you would most likely not attempt to do it again, which is such a shame.

Are you planing on mining litecoin with a antminer u2? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) lol yah but why?? EDIT: and i wanted to know about your trick!! Oh you are serious ... ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) The antminer U2 can be used to mine SHA-256 based coins. Litecoin is a scrypt based algorithm, so you cannot mine litecoin with antminer U2. Here is a good place to start: http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency However the calculations does not take difficulty into consideration... I can see that you knowledge-wise are almost starting from scratch, you could consider getting a used graphic card, I have seen a R9 280X sold for less than $100. And then mine a bit and get some experience. You will not make a profit, but you can make some experience, and after you will still have a ok graphic card to play games with. Alternative strategy would be to invest in a PoS coin, like MINT or BC. Then use your normal PC to stake coins. But getting into altcoin is also a risky business. But really, you should HOLD ON TO THOSE BITCOINS and not spend them.

This will surely set the market value for such a coin. It looks to be in amazing condition and my guess would be that it's worth upwards of 2 BTC at the least. Good luck with your sale, there's a chance I might throw out an offer.
So pay 2 BTC for it. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) touché

Let me know if anyone wants that 2011 error with cleaned holo sticker. I am thinking of peeling it... ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) How "cleaned" is the holo? if you can ask such a question. Has the holo print been "cleaned" away, or has it just been wiped with a cloth?

He vanished after the mining was hot.
Thanks for the update, he properly cashed out. Nevertheless I have nothing bad to say about pronoob, like I said he was always very friendly and helpful to me.

I have to go to work when I check this board in evening I expect you to give me the right calculations.

coolbeans94 made the stake graph in OP, I believe he still have the source - try sending him a PM.

kidnaps you and beats the password and pin out of you with a 5$ wrench.

Awesome - big applause. The transparency is so great. I admire that the team is not anonymous (like 99% of all other altcoins).

Personal ID, either it is centralised and/or crackable.
Think about retina and fingerprints, both "easily" exploitable.
Absolutely, a MRI scan of the entire hand or body is much more secure than a fingerprint. But as said before, biometric is not deterministic, which make them poor to use for encryption and message signing.

one solution to this would simply be to destroy your private key, then is it impossible to steal the funds from you...
But seriously, encrypt your private keys and use a password that is impossible to guess or brute force. Save the encrypted files in the could. That should do it.

I do think it would be cool if there was some big Bitcoin bank that paid interest. But then the bank would need to be insured by some government entity and it would destroy the independence of Bitcoin.
That would still be old tech. I want bitcoins to be safely stored on the block chain. The bitcoins ARE safely stored on the block chain today but if someone loses a bitcoin address then those bitcoins are lost. one solution to this would simply be to destroy your private key, then is it impossible to steal the funds from you...

hey just wanted to know that is Bitcoin Cloud Mining profitable?? I am new here just bought 100$$ btc and wanted to invest in mining.i have invested like 5$$ in betarigs.com but after 10 min .i could see that i was losing what i invested .so i started to do research about mining and know that the actual miners cost like 1000k to 2000k $$.it was too much for me so searched for some cheap options and found out about Cloud Mining .I just wanted to know about it a little bit more and if anyone can help me get started with it any good sites to start could mining and is Bitcoin Cloud Mining PROFITABLE!!! Thank's in Advance!! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) EDIT: I am thinking to buy this http://buy-antminer.com/antminer-u2 .will it be profitable to invest in the device?? Congrats on your first bitcoins ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) My best advice to you is to SAVE them. You will most likely be better of not mining. Spend your time reading and learning how to safely store you bitcoins, instead of reading how to mine bitcoins. Hide them away safe, promise your self not to spend them. In a few years will you be happy about that decision.

Use a Chromebook. A PC is unsafe. Just kidding a bit, but maybe in the future a new kind of network security is needed.
The user is always the weak link in security. Therefor be smarter than the personal who want to rob you. I think a trustless mechanism for storing bitcoins is needed. How is the Bitcoin security handled on a smartphone today? Are all the private keys stored locally on the smartphone? For mycelium, yes. But I rarely keep more than $100 in my mycelium wallet, use it primarly for micro transaction. Just like I would rarely have more than $100 on me in cash. If I need to spend big bucks, then will I need to have access to my cold storage.

when doge first launched the blocks werent stacking right. This causes the sync to be longer... this problem was addressed/fixed by Pronooob adding supernodes.
What happen to Probooob? I know there is a lot FUD - but he was always very helpful and polite to me, with solving mining issues.
