Wallets which can be recovered using the seed are called hierarchical deterministic. Their main advantage is that they are easy to backup. You can use them on multiple devices without having to worry that some of your coins won't be available on a specific device. Modern software and hardware wallets use this kind of wallet. Bitcoin Core instead of the seed allows user to export Master Private Key in its console.

Witaj!

2083  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is it possible for the block chain records to be compressed and rebased? on: November 04, 2018, 11:39:17 AM
If there is very little hosts which can host bitcoin node, does it mean that bitcoin are centralized?

Yes, full nodes are responsible for validating blocks and transactions, and relaying them to other nodes. They can also filter transactions on behalf of lightweight clients which are used by the vast majority of users (e.g. Electrum). Increasing the blocksize leads to higher disk space and bandwidth usage - this might discourage volunteers from running their own full nodes. Mining centralization is also a big problem. If one mining pool controls the vast majority of hashrate, it can reject certain transactions.
2084  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Why am I receiving a negative? - electrum on: November 03, 2018, 08:57:19 PM
my head is spinning really fast now.  Huh Huh Huh Undecided

It means that someone has sent you 0.000001 BTC multiple times and you have sent 0.0000016 BTC once. It looks like you haven't used Electrum a lot. Take at Electrum tutorials which I wrote for beginners and advanced users.

Don't forget that you will pay a lot in the future for a transaction if you decide to send everything from your wallet to a different address. Every 0.000001 BTC transaction is a separate input which will increase the size of the transaction. Learn more about it here. It might be a bit confusing for you at the beginning, focus on Electrum first.
2085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: lnd segmentation error on: November 03, 2018, 06:44:01 PM
That's exactly the guide which the other person followed and experienced some problems with setting up his Lightning Network node since the guide is a bit outdated. You can either use solutions from this thread or install a new operating system according to this tutorial which is easier than the one you have posted above.

The command which I gave you probably won't work anyway because your LND seems to be stopped.
2086  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Send transaction to my own address on: November 03, 2018, 03:50:28 PM
You mean to send btc from each different wallet to the new wallet then withdraw it all? I think that's a good idea in my own opinion. Correct me if i'm wrong, if I decide to cash out my btc it would cost me lots of money for each transaction fee when it's in different wallet and not in one wallet.

That was not the point. Every time you receive some BTC to the same address, the coins are considered as separate inputs. For example, if you receive 0.1 BTC four times you will pay more for your cash-out transaction than as if you received 0.4 BTC. Right now, transactions with 1 sat/b confirm quite fast. A year ago, I had to pay almost 70 sat/b so I prefer to consolidate my inputs from time to time.
2087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to revert made fake coin exploit code's bug? on: November 03, 2018, 12:07:07 PM
I heard some news about bitcoin previous version and its bug is in short, fake coin can be made?

Only some Bitcoin Core instances are vulnerable (0.14.0 to 0.16.2). If they receive a block with a transaction which has a duplicate input, they will crash. No new coin would have been created but it could pose a huge threat to the network. You can find more information here and here.

Then all other bitcoin source cloned alt-coin also has that flaw in code?

Yes, some Bitcoin clones are affected and their clients have to be patched by their developers manually. Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin are safe.
2088  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Send transaction to my own address on: November 03, 2018, 11:18:22 AM
I know this may be look as a stupid question but i thought about this a lot and didn't find similar asks in different boards of the forum.

Actually, that's a good question. Every single transaction you receive to your wallet is a separate input. The more inputs your transaction has, the higher fee you will pay. It's a good idea to combine a few inputs into a big one when the fees are low (1-3 sat/b) since you will save a lot of money in case you decide to cash out when the fees become extremely high again. Loyce has explained it here quite well.
2089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: lnd segmentation error on: November 03, 2018, 11:02:16 AM
Which tutorial did you follow? Some time ago, I helped another user with setting up LND on the Raspberry Pi. He followed this tutorial and it turned out that it was a bit outdated. What about other commands? Have you tried using other commands? (e.g. lncli connect <nodeid@ip>)

I recommend you RaspiBlitz if you decide to start everything from scratch. It is easy to use and has a quite good documentation. It also support LCD displays.
2090  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trade ETH from Trezor on: November 02, 2018, 09:50:26 PM
But for Ethereum, you'll be redirected to MyCrypto or Myetherwallet because the web interface doesn't have ether in the first place, so where I'm supposed to exchange?

As you wrote, Ethereum is not available in the web interface. They are working on it but there is no specified date. However, ShapeShift accepts Ethereum. In order to trade it, you have to create an account on ShapeShift and send your Ether from MyEtherWallet to the address generated by them. You can also do it on Changelly (registration needed as well). TryNinja has already explained you why there is nothing to worry about. Using "Exchange" feature is basically the same as what I described above - Trezor sends whatever you exchange to ShapeShift's address.

2091  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: November 02, 2018, 08:08:33 PM
Also, I'm curious, the changelog of the 1.6.3 update says that 80 new tokens have been added. Why do they need to be added manually and why they need to be added by Trezor in the first place since we're using MyCrypto and MEW as a third-party service?

Currently, TREZOR supports every Ethereum token which follows ERC20 standard. Support for token which follows a different standard needs to be added manually. I was told by one of the TREZOR Telegram channel admins that they do that and list such coins here. However, I can only see ERC20 tokens there. It would make sense if they had already added Ethereum to their web wallet. Don't you think that the above list is targeted to newbies which don't understand tokens?

I'm now in 1.6.3 and even though it said "erasing..." while the update was happening and I remember reading that one of the updates will erase everything indeed, I still have my funds in the wallet and I didn't have to type my seed again?

As far as I remember, 1.6.2 update wiped my device's memory while 1.6.3 didn't. You have updated your device directly to 1.6.3 so that's the reason.
2092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking back at the White paper... Do you think Satoshi would be proud of us? on: November 01, 2018, 12:46:54 PM
SegWit is good and all, but it is nothing more than a buy-time solution in the run-up to the lightning network. Even with the lightning network running in full glory, we still need larger blocks, more so than what SegWit provides.

The Lightning Network is working quite well despite being still in an early-state. Broadcasting on-chain transactions is need for opening and closing channels but we can lower the cost of doing so and improve privacy by introducing Channel factories and Schnorr signatures. Unfortunately, it will take a lot of time to implement each of these solutions.

2093  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Flaws in LN (Lightning Network). on: October 31, 2018, 07:56:59 PM
Ignoring the fact that LN can be totally destroyed by 51% of the miners

The same applies to Bitcoin, doesn't it? This kind of attack would be used for revising already confirmed on-chain transactions with far higher amount of BTC rather than for manipulating channels which have a maximum capacity of about 0.16 BTC.
2094  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor T now supports Monero, Ripple and more! on: October 31, 2018, 07:01:57 PM
Little bit disappointed as I was honestly expecting native support for ethereum wallet instead of using third-party services such as MEW and also bc1 support. Do you have an idea when that's going to hit our devices?

There is no specified date. According to this page, in the next update of trezor-core they will add support for Tron, EOS, Ontology and implement SLIP-0039. If you want to use a native SegWit address (bc1), you can do it in the latest Electrum. Your address should show up in their web wallet after they add support for this type of address.
2095  Local / Polski / Re: Czemu nie nagradzamy sie Meritami? on: October 31, 2018, 05:10:45 PM

Since not everyone here browse "Development & Technical Discussion" section, I would like to inform you that TREZOR has released a new software update for both Trezor One and Trezor T. Monero support is finally here! However, it is not available on the older model due to hardware limitations and it can be accessed only in the monero-wallet-cli (GUI has been not updated yet). The update is available only in the beta wallet. If you want to know what the new coins are, check out the topic which I posted recently.
2097  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alternative cryptocurrencies that reduce disk space? on: October 31, 2018, 12:57:00 PM
You don't have to run a full node to use Bitcoin. You can either use a SPV client (e.g. Electrum) or prune your node. Bitcoin blockchain is not as big as Ethereum's (most of its nodes are pruned ones). What we are currently trying to do with Bitcoin is moving some of transactions off-chain so that they could be made instantly and cheaply while putting less stress on the network. The Lightning Network, Liquid and RSK are examples of such solution.

Sharding is a bit complicated and it won't be implemented anytime soon. You can learn more about it here. The author of this text used Ethereum as an example.
2098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A few questions about using LND and Lightning in general on: October 30, 2018, 07:55:25 PM
Any idea on how long it takes to retrieve funds after "force closing" a channel? Two of the nodes I had channels open with were offline so I had to force close, it's been about 24 hours and the balance is still in limbo

It depends on the timelock which is always negotiated while opening a channel, usually it's 144 blocks (~1 day). Your case is a bit weird. Can you show me the output of lncli listchannels? It might show some information about these channels (I doubt it since the transaction has been already confirmed). Have you tried restarting your node?
2099  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Help balancing Lightning Network channels on: October 30, 2018, 06:11:44 PM
Lightning Conductor opens channel back to those who open a channel with at least 0.0025 BTC to them. Balancing a channel would mean that all of your channel funds were used up for routing payments. This would force you to reopen your channel if you wanted to continue using your channel safely.
2100  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Trezor T now supports Monero, Ripple and more! on: October 29, 2018, 04:30:43 PM
TREZOR has released a new update for their latest Trezor T which brings support for a few cryptocurrencies such as Monero, Ripple, Stellar, Cardano, Tezos, Decread, Zencash and Groestlcoin. Zcash Sapling hardfork is also supported. Monero is not available neither in the web wallet (privacy concerns) nor in the Monero GUI (it's a matter of time in this case). Currently, it can be accessed only through the monero-wallet-cli. At the time of writing this post, the update is available for download from the beta-wallet page. I didn't have to enter my seed again but don't proceed without having it nearby.

Trezor One also received an update which includes Lisk, Stellar and Zcash Sapling hardfork support. What about coins which were added for Trezor T? Not all of them will be available due to hardware limitations. TREZOR is porting the trezor-core (Trezor T software) to Trezor One so that it could have some features and coins of the model T.
