2081  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: April 28, 2018, 08:33:12 AM
after a few years of good service I think I should be moving away from Mycelium. If you feel like helping please suggest me a good alternative for Android based phones. I found Mycelium very handy because of electrum and ledger interoperability but it looks like the time is right for a change.

it's still worth keeping for stuff like the cold storage spending feature. i switched to samourai wallet because i needed a segwit address. that's kinda blank but gets the job done. i've no objections to coinomi either but some people ain't too happy with it not being fully open source though you can review the code.

Ok I see, I might give a try with samourai wallet and will see how things go. In the end, I need a very handy hot wallet but, looking at the future, not having segwit onboard is a big limitation for Mycelium

I disagree.
We should be aware of the reason why these coins are back on the move and you cannot be sure that this transfer will not affect the market in any way. Until the situation about those fund is not clarified they should definitely not be moved

Are we still poor?
As the experts here say, you might as well wait at least 24 hours before thinking so. Because, as you should be aware the next 24h are tremendously critical. Like the 24h before

Oh the MSM, how you just gotta admire their constant brainwashing bullshit campaigns.

All last year, they worked hard trying to convince the masses that we were on the brink of nuclear war with North Korea.

This year, South and North Korea are planning mutual denuclearization.

Unbelievable.
Pathetic uh?
2086  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-26] Tom Lee Would Put “Fresh Money” into Bitcoin Instead of Bitcoin Cas on: April 26, 2018, 05:21:21 PM
I got rid of Bitcoin Cash as soon as they got available for trading. I played with those bch a bit only to get more Bitcoin at the end of the day and I simply don't care what will happen to BCH long term. I really did not like the way they handled the fork, but that's my biased opinion
2087  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 26, 2018, 05:15:37 PM
It's already started:
https://www.technologyreview.com/s/610809/lets-destroy-bitcoin/

some of the suggestions there are silly, especially the one where facebook makes a wallet and that wallet somehow will represent bitcoin takeover by facebok, lol, but more "suggestions" will be coming.
Funny hitpiece that. Author published https://www.glamour.com/story/meet-the-women-of-cryptocurrency same day; half full of weirdos and scammers.

I expect that most will be associated with ownership disclosures, blacklisting/whitelisting, current absence of true fungibility, etc.
I am lucky enough to believe that there is no taint or title in bitcoin, which solves all that at a stroke, and makes it just another attack.
But you're right, and I fully expect all that stuff to occupy nearly everyone else here till kingdom come.
Nobody said it was easy. Wars have been made for centuries for a very simple reason: control. This is not the middle-ages but believing that any state really wants to help their citizens is mostly naive and inaccurate. Democracies are no different from dictatorships in terms of control. What changes is how control is being established.
I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery

Roger is welcome anytime here, we are funny people who like to tease others from time to time. Only one thing is not for us: we do not play with Bitcoin. Full stop. Hijacking Bitcoin in such a manner was utterly childish. On the long run we'll see which coin will survive
2089  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-04-26] Mining Rewards Show You What The Bitcoin Price Will Do on: April 26, 2018, 04:45:36 PM
We all need leading indicators to try and predict the future. For me, for Bitcoin and altcoins, an important one is the swings in value of mining rewards.
I consider the 1080ti GPU from Nvidia as the benchmark altcoin mining hardware for anyone mining altcoins. While ASICs demand awe, GPUs are the smart way to get into mining – low risk and frankly fun.

2090  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-04-26] Bitcoin will replace gold and soar in price to $700000 on: April 26, 2018, 04:39:23 PM
Bitcoin is notoriously volatile, having seen its price fluctuate between $1,000 and $20,000 over the last year. However a partner at Pfeffer Capital claims it is better than gold "on every front."
The entire bitcoin network could one day be worth more than $6 trillion, according to a partner at Pfeffer Capital – but other cryptocurrencies are doomed.
Bitcoin is better than gold “on every front” and could eventually be worth around $700,000, according to an institutional investor.
John Pfeffer, a partner at UK-based Pfeffer Capital, made the remarks at the Sohn investment conference in New York. That event traditionally serves as a place for investors to recommend the best stocks to invest in – and has never seen anyone recommend cryptocurrency before.

2092  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-04-24] Bitcoin value is on the verge of another 'price explosion' on: April 24, 2018, 05:43:36 PM
Bitcoin is primed for another “price explosion” that could see the cryptocurrency’s value soar to even greater levels than it experienced in 2017, according to analysts.
The price predictions come amid significant gains across cryptocurrency markets in recent weeks that have seen bitcoin rise by more than a third in value to return above $9,000 for the first time since March.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

In 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto served the world an entirely new kind of currency. It was one that people could move over the internet instantaneously and nearly free of charge. Issued and distributed not by a central bank but by its own users, it drew the drapes of privacy around financial transactions while making forgery—in theory, at least—impossible.

You guys are just blinkered old farts.
EOS is the future.
It says so right there in the whitepaper.
you need to find an adequate animated gif, pic or meme to go along with your bold statement. Grin
Let's stop kidding, we all know you are being sarcastic

In the meanwhile I am tempted to reduce my alts position to 5% (from 10%). I have few which I care about a bit (because they have never been presented like better than bitcoin)

2096  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-23] Bitcoin Struggles Above $9K as Bull Breakout Stalls on: April 23, 2018, 07:22:48 PM
Funny, last week, there was a new item about Bitcoin struggling above $8k as *that* bull breakout stalled. Still, not about to switch from my overly-pessimist outlook for the time being, it's been quite pleasant the past 3 weeks to wake up to prices better than expected, probably best not to jinx it with positive thinking. Yes, yes, I do believe in the power of psychological persuasion on the Bitcoin market.

On a similar note, I actually agree that the next target is 11k, rather than 10k. That psychological factor is wearing off now and if 10k is breached, it'll be heading for another 10% or 15% to maintain its grip.
It's the press my friend, don't get surprised otherwise they would get out of shit to write. In any case, it can't be denied this time all these psychological barriers (6k,7k,8k and so forth) seem a bit hard to cross: which is good if you ask me. Better a solid and steady growth than a fucking p&D
2097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It To Late For Me To Buying Bitcoin? on: April 23, 2018, 02:06:40 PM
It's never too late! Be inspired by some old wisdom found in this Chinese proverb:
"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now."
I buy bitcoin every month, I plant my seed every month.

Not long ago it seemed we should have been waiting much more before seeing the LN in action. From what we are witnessing these days I guess we can be satisfied. Once LN is for every common bitcoin user we will be read for mass disruption.
