2081  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: September 09, 2016, 11:14:06 AM
Just keep hustling man, what else can we do? Im thinking about making more bitcoin 24/7. Im going insane trying to find up with ways to make more money, or else i'll end up dead on the streets since I can't pay for the bills and jobs pay like shit anyway. So I hope Bitcoin is at least 50k each in 5 to 10 years or else im done.

I think what you expect from bitcoin is too much. 50K each is way too much. I will be very happy if that happens, but let us be realistic. 10 years is too short time for it to reach that price. Just work hard and smart, invest on the right instrument and someday maybe we can be rich.

It's realistic. We would need around 1 trillion marketcap to get at 50k each coin. If you do the math, you can see that gold is 8 trillion, and debt is 50 trillion. So only from those 2 markets alone, if we get a small % in bitcoin, bitconi goes 50k a coin.
2082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Open 2016 - Thoughts and Tips on: September 08, 2016, 04:37:16 PM
I was disappointing to see Rafa Nadal losing against Lucas Pouille, which has recently lost against Gael Monfils, and this guy has not been in a big finals since 2008.

I still think Rafa will come back eventually and retire as number one, he still has some big wins before he starts going downhill due aging and too much stress due the effort needed to play at elite level.

Who win the next Champion's League?

Barcelona  @4.50

Bayern @5.00

Real Madrid @ 6.00

Juventus @12.00

At.Madrid @13.00
Manchester City  @ 13.00

PSG @15.00

Borussia Dortmund @17.00
   
Arsenal @ 25.00

Tottenham @ 35.00

Leicester @ 50.00
Napoli @50.00
Porto @50.00

Siviglia 60@

I like the quote at @5 for Bayern of Carlo Ancelotti!

I think Real Madrid will win again, against a Barcelona match that will be very epic. All of the main players in both teams are looking in good shape, including Cristiano, Gareth, Benzema, Messi and Neymar after the gold medal.

I agree that Real and Barca definitely belong to the big favorites of this CL season again. As usual! Cheesy
However I'm hoping for another team to win the biggest european club trophy this time as the spanish squads have dominated and won the CL and EL the last few years. So it is getting a bit boring and it's time for some fresh air.

There are always other contenders that are not Real Madrid and Barca like Bayern or Manchester City but usually it's always those 2 teams. I don't understand how spain is able to have the best 2 teams in the world but they are having big problems with the economy.
2084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How high will anon coins rise when their GUI comes out? (XMR, WBB, BTS, etc) on: September 08, 2016, 03:33:46 PM
Although Monero doesn't have an official GUI, it does have a secure web wallet: mymonero.com  It's secure because your private keys are never on the server side. Still, as with anything web-based, it's best practice to keep only immediate spending money on web wallets.

Zcash will probably have a GUI first, but what good is a GUI if the actual currency requires you to trust the owners (instead of just math)?

https://moneroforcash.com/monero-vs-dash-vs-zcash-vs-bitcoinmixers.php

The Command Line Interface (CLI) wallet for Monero (simplewallet) is not hard to use. There are plenty of tutorials on how to set it up and use it (google), but there is always mymonero.com.

Yeah I never understood the point of zerocoin at all. Who in the hell is going to trust a coin that generates a master key that the owners own and this means they have access to everything ever, and you have to trust that they destroy them? This is fucking retarded. Anyone trusting such a technology is out of their mind. Monero remains the best anonymous coin.
2085  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Will sidechain tokens function like altcoins? on: September 08, 2016, 03:12:18 PM
That's an interesting thought. I wonder how people will value those sidechain tokens in the exchanges then. To my understanding, in order to receive tokens in the sidechain, a certain amount of BTC must be locked. How many tokens would that be would depend on the developers I think. So if 1 BTC = 10 RSK, then I think that would be a constant. So if RSK is listed in an exchange the fair price would always be 1 BTC = 10 RSK, but BTC's fiat value always changes. I think that would play a role in the changes of the value of RSK too. But bottom line you will receive 1 BTC back to the main chain if you have 10 RSK.

What I asumed is that since it's a one way pegged mechanism or sorts, then the ratio of price is always 1:1, so this means that it does not make sense to have an exchange for this... im not sure how this works anyway so im just asking.

I like the altcoin speculation aspect and making money on the altcoin markets it's fun, so it would suck if altcoins stop existing due sidechains making all of them irrelevant.
2086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: September 08, 2016, 03:00:58 PM
It will depend on the people. If the people keep supporting the banks and the upcoming bankcoin/government  coin or whatever you want to call it, then no, banks will forever exist.

If people get tired of the bullshit and go 100% bitcoin, then yes, we could see a way to get rid of banks.

2088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how strong is bitcoin really? on: September 08, 2016, 02:45:53 PM
Bitcoin is the strongest network on the planet. It is backed by the biggest amount of computing power ever seen on the entire history of humanity, and this is not an exaggeration, this is an actual fact.

2090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 203 Miocic vs. Overeem on: September 07, 2016, 01:55:02 PM
Here's another video for you guys.

UFC 203: Inside The Octagon - Fabricio Werdum vs. Travis Browne
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNiow2tLx68

Both fighters are coming out from losing their last fight.  So I would assume both of them are so motivated to win this fight as both risk losing their title contender status if they don't win this.  My money is on Werdum if I could find better odds or if I can find a prop like Werdeum win via KO/TKO or Werdum ITD at decent odds.

Werdum was a disappointment last. He bragged a lot and said he was going to destroy Miocic but Miocic destroyed him. This makes it more exciting for the Overeem fight since Miocic must be feeling really confident after the massive KO punch against Werdum.
2091  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = 100.000 to 1 million is a possibility in 2035 on: September 07, 2016, 01:49:21 PM
I'm curious what will happen to Bitcoin after the next halvings, especially the last one.
There's a chance that miners will leave the network leaving Bitcoin crumble to dust and there's a chance that only the transaction fees will cover the fiat cost of mining plus some benefits.
The range is pretty wide and the truth is always in the middle.
OP is correct. Any amount is a possibility in 2035, from 0 to any big number we can imagine.
May be some miners leave mining but i think majority of them will stay with their device because by that time most of the miners will have got their ROI back and after deducting electricity cost what they will be earning is pure profit for them. With supply and demand principle also, price of bitcoin should be as high enough by that time so that small portion of bitcoin as fee could be enough for them to get some profit. However nothing is guarantee and even real satoshi may also came up to media by that time, who knows what will be situation after that.

There will always be miners that find profit. If some miners leave, then the difficulty goes down and the system self adjusts itself to provide profit for other people. There will always be a clear incentive for some people to keep mining. As the price goes up, the deflation progress will not be a problem.
2092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Softfork vs Hard-fork? on: September 07, 2016, 01:37:38 PM
We have already seen what can happen with a failed hard fork with Ethereum. Now 2 coins with their own ecoystems, developers and marketcaps are now competing against each other and being traded with big volumes on exchanges. All those idiots that said hard forking was nothing where claiming how the original fork surviving was a non issue, but that is exactly what happened. It not only survived but became a top 10 marketcap coin.

So to sum it up, hard fork has big risks unless like 99% agree.
2093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't store private keys on UBS Safe on: September 07, 2016, 01:15:02 PM
Why would you want to store your private keys outside of your house? The point of bitcoin is to control your of money. Putting your private key in someone's else locker is a way to lose your money, just like storing your money in some exchange is.
2094  Other / Off-topic / Re: When was the first time you bought bitcoin? on: September 07, 2016, 01:04:07 PM
I remember when I first saw Bitcoinwisdom the price was around 100 dollars or so. I still have the "100 USD" tag in the bookmarked link. It's funny looking at it now that the price has x6. Actually it's not funny since I didn't bought when it was that cheap, so im constantly reminded when I click on the link. I should really get rid of that bookmark and bookmark it again.
2095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did anyone buy during $1200? on: September 07, 2016, 12:44:09 PM
Im sure a lot of people bought at 1200. They are the ones that will sell at 1000, then wake up at 2000 dollars per coin. Those idiots will never learn to buy and hold long term (10+ years) instead of trying to make a quick buck and failing each time.
2096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 203 Miocic vs. Overeem on: September 06, 2016, 02:18:37 PM
This one will be epic, I always enjoy the huge heavyweight fights. I think Overeem will win, he can become dominant again. I think the steroids scandal fucked his mind up for a long time, but he is recovering now. Let's just hope he doesnt get caught again and ends up like Jon Bones Jones.
2097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: September 06, 2016, 02:13:23 PM
It's better to not fully give up, or you may end up building a big addiction underneath. It's best to gamble casually from time to time so you never build up a strong will to want to gamble again and you may make a stupid decision, like gambling too much money.
2098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling vs Real Gambling on: September 06, 2016, 02:05:30 PM
Hello Guys, I would like to know you're understanding about online gambling and real life gambling. Since here in the philippines online gambling is now illegal. I'm just curious what's the difference about this too. Why make online gambling illegal?

As someone said in an earlier post, it's not to protect citizens at all. The reason why governments make online gambling illegal is because they want their cut, which comes in the form of taxes from the player and licencing and operation fees for the online gambling provider.

Indeed, they want to tax on everything, including gambling. This is one of the reasons bitcoin will be huge, its the only way to gamble fast and anywhere in the world without permission.
2099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to Trading on: September 06, 2016, 02:04:19 PM
The problem with altcoin trading is that you can get stuck in a coin that has no volume, so my recommendation is that you always pick a top 10 coin in terms of volume to trade, unless you want to long and trust the project.
2100  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Will sidechain tokens function like altcoins? on: September 06, 2016, 01:57:16 PM
Im still trying to understand the concept of sidechains and how they will work. My question is: the tokens from sidechains (for example, RSK token for rootstok) will be able to be bought in exchanges just like different altcoins, or they can only be converted directly without being able to speculate on the price? I hope it makes sense.
