Some people are already rich in both fiat and Bitcoin and so such people can decide to hold until forever but it's not the same with everyone. I have never felt such situation, but as you itself have said waiting for the concern coin to experience a price increase is the right thing. Else if you've a good amount for investment then invest into some coins that gives short term Profiting. This will help you compensate the loss.
