2102  Economy / Economics / Re: Can not believe 5 years ago you could of bought one whole bitcoin for this much! on: October 29, 2019, 03:30:29 AM
For $651~ you could of got yourself a shiny whole bitcoin on coinbase plus their $6.66 fee.
I wouldnt of mind paying this fee on top regardless.
Even if they were asking 10% of the purchase amount at the time which is probably more by now. Wink

Maybe when you open the history of bitcoin withdrawal maybe you have make big mistake where you sell your bitcoin with lower price, why not hold bitcoin for five years later and now how higher price of bitcoin, I got 5 bitcoin in my wallet but I sell it with lower price and now I am very disappointed because if hold and sell my bitcoin today I think I have earn much profit.
2103  Economy / Economics / Re: is it possible that the bitcoin was created by governments? on: October 28, 2019, 11:44:17 AM
According to conspiracy theory, Is it possible that the bitcoin was created by governments to gain financial strength in the modern world?
Which conspiracy theory are you pointing out? People who know bitcoin know that it is Satoshi Nakamoto who invented bitcoin but as to his personal identity, it is still unclear until now if he is a real person or just a pseudonym which is a person behind famous digital currency called bitcoin. If it is to strengthen financial aspect of the modern world, I doubt it because until now banks and governments are still against wide adoption of bitcoin. just my opinion.
Not conspiracy with bitcoin and no one can't take manager and control with bitcoin price, government have big power but can't control how bitcoin price at the future, they only can get access for legal or illegal bitcoin as transaction or investment assets, but government never have power how to make bitcoin have price based on their mind and take bitcoin to lower price.
2104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Has Something to Do with Bitcoin's Price Increase After All on: October 28, 2019, 11:06:08 AM
China’s state-controlled television station, CCTV.com, recently hosted a segment breaking down Bitcoin, according to a prominent trader that closely follows the region’s cryptocurrency scene.

China's state controlled television explaining the basics of "first ever blockchain technology" #bitcoin $btc, and how a distributed ledger works

Imagine 1.3 billion people got to know bitcoin because state made an effort to explain how it works.
China have make some thing big for bitcoin, China can make bitcoin price down just while time and China can make bitcoin price increase to higher just one day, last week bitcoin touch until $7.5K after China president's announce for adopting bitcoin price increase and up above $8.5K, China really have big power for bitcoin to higher and lower price, always have chance for bitcoin if adopt by China.
2105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we really have fast transactions like the XRP? on: October 24, 2019, 02:57:57 PM
Bitcoin has been the Top 1 cryptocurrency since its birth from 2009 it evolves now to the one of the top use cryptocurrency by means of payment.
But I see one problem with it, about its transaction. last time after our manager sent our rewards on signature campaign it took a day to confirm the transaction the longest transaction I've ever had. So I came to think of it if Bitcoin can have a fast transaction like Ripple (XRP).

I found this Video explaining about Lightning network, this is an old video.

By now are we able to make fast Bitcoin transactions without paying a big amount for it?

Source: The Blockchain and Us: Interview Elizabeth Stark, Lightning Network
Using xrp very faster payment transaction where you sent your xrp from one exchange to other exchange only take few minute and your transaction successful receive in your wallet destination, compare with bitcoin take few hour using XRP very good way if you want to withdraw your bitcoin to other wallet by convert become XRP coin first and you get faster payment.
2106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest only in active projects on: October 24, 2019, 02:06:31 PM
Here is a good source to decide which altcoin to invest in. I would never buy a dead altcoin with no development except Doge. Doge is unique and will be successful without much development.

Source: https://twitter.com/el33th4xor/status/1068856384983363585?s=21

dead alts are:

- Verge
- Holochain
- Bitcoin Private
- Pundi X
- Poet
- Decentraland (MANA)
You have give details about dead altcoin like verge, pundix and MANA. I trust your suggestion with dead altcoin because they do not have continue how to walk up and give their coin become higher price. They are not walking well where altcoin price mention above never raise to higher price anymore, with bitcoin have down make above altcoin become dead and never get back higher again.

Possible if government want to create their own cryptocurrency but never have to control about their coin created, just running how price control by seller and buyer, supply and demand will give opportunity how government coin become lower or higher price, but government have serious for listing with good exchange market after coin success sold to public.
2108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Inflation With Crypto? How? on: October 24, 2019, 10:07:03 AM
Your thoughts on this. with the recent situation we face here in western countries. Like here in Canada. USA, Australia, Europe etc
we are constantly seeing inflation and our buying power decrease. Rise of poverty.
If crypto could save and prevent poverty.

Then what are your thoughts on how this switch over could really happen?

Do we all have to reach a ground ZERO, such as a situation like Venezuela. For everyone to trash their FIAT and accept a crypto system?

What do you think would it take for a switch to happen?

It would be horrible to think that all of us need to end up in poverty and below in order to have a mass acceptance of crypto?

what are all your thoughts on how a switch to crypto could happen?

The switch will not be as abrupt as what happened to Venezuela. It will take time. First and foremost, the price of Bitcoin itself has to reach a certain degree of stability, Bitcoin transaction fees as well as confirmation time will have to adjust as well, and then stores and shops will start accepting BTC payment, and then the government will issue regulatory policies one after another, BTC owners themselves will stop hoarding it and start spending it the way it should be, and so on. I'm speaking of Bitcoin as crypto here because there is no other that can replace it in terms of acceptance.

I would say that the Venezuelan situation is isolated. The country does not seem to have a working system anymore except the one that is inside the head of Maduro and it is rotten.
We can stop inflation if using bitcoin as payment transaction but if bitcoin down you faced really inflation value than using cash money, you can faced with moment bitcoin dump more than 20% in few day like what happen with bitcoin price today, maybe if you use payment with bitcoin last day you have miss opportunity to get profit with your product selling.
2109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO exchanges not required KYC on: October 24, 2019, 07:11:35 AM
I like the cryptocurrency due to the privacy, i do not like to send my IDs to anyone even if it is popular and trusted websites, requesting KYC to participate in IEO is against privacy why i have to send my ID to participate in IEO!!
Most of exchanges launched their IEO platform required KYC.
Is there any exchanges run IEO and do not required KYC.

You can join with IEO exchange without KYC but only with shit exchange market want to allowed member without KYC, big exchange market listed IEO coin like Binance, Bitrex, Kucoina and Gate need KYC before become investor with IEO coin. Maybe you can ask to other put your money for your friend joining and investing with IEO without use your document for KYC.
2110  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic situation around the world and Bitcoin on: October 24, 2019, 07:00:08 AM
Do you think this Economic situation will push More People into Bitcoin?

We know that countries like venezuela, ghana all Ready are Bitcoin adopters.

China USA  trading?  Do you think that has impact too?

Coz i think the gold market is about pop the bubble soon
Economic situation give good effect for cryptocurrency and bitcoin, if good relationship between many country around the world give positive effect for bitcoin on higher price, now many people worried with situation several country look not good with have economic war like United State and China, if war still continue I think bitcoin get bad impact with price and less investor become bitcoin part.
2111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cryptocurrency is better than fiat currency? on: October 24, 2019, 05:31:01 AM
First of all cryptocurrency is a non legal distribution of money in which they don't need to pay their taxes in order for them to buy some goods or things while in fiat you need to transfer crypto into a fiat to become a legal currency that has been issued by the government in which the items or the things you need to buy have a equivalent of a taxes. That was one of the many reasons why cryptocurrency is more better than fiat.

One of the million reasons we have. still crypto currency is the best choice rather than fiat. but for now fiat is still helping us to improve our society regulated by government. maybe crypto will help us in future but we still need to balance all of this whether it is good or not. better to achieve success solution than rushing a thing we couldn't expect to happen.
Cryptocurrency better than fiat currency for using as transaction payment, but when bitcoin or altcoin price have go down many investor and companies do not agree using crypto as currency, they look dislike with bitcoin and altcoin if price still down. Only take moment with bitcoin and altcoin become higher price for currency payment, when price dump they will left bitcoin.
2112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people easily get scammed on the internet? on: October 24, 2019, 05:09:21 AM
What is Scam?
Scam is a dishonest scheme that is carried out by an individual or groups of persons in mode of taking away something that is valuable to others. Those who perform these acts are reffered to as scamers.

How do people get involved, how easily are people scammed and reasons?

Many individuals think of the internet as a get rich quick scheme and once they are exposed to any form of investment promising high ROI, witjout a second taught they jump onto it, you and I as well know how this will end? In a nutshell, GREED is a factor

Secondly the inability to conduct research and make real findings on our own. All this as a result of laziness.

Add yours!!

I entreat all of us to be on the look out for scan projects, make our findings and proof beyound doubts their scam intentions and also avoid been greedy when making an inveatment
Many people look easily scam on the internet, less knowledge before investing make people very easy to get scam with investmnet project. Trusted with people ask him for joining or buying some altcoin and ICO make them very easy with scam. I got scam with some project investment but I can get back my money first before my project investment have scam.
2113  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Money Losing Worth, Bitcoin and Gold Getting Important on: October 24, 2019, 03:19:42 AM

There are a lot of reasons to believe that the value of our fiat money is losing its real value. We have inflation eating into the worth of goods and services that our money can buy and although this can be controlled to a certain degree this can never be stopped nor eliminated from any economic system. Another major problem is the tendency of many central banks to just print more paper money (termed as quantitative easing which is nice to ears) and circulate them to the economy. Coupled with a high degree of economic and political uncertainties as well as lack of trust for the government, we can in an era uncharted and which repercussions can be felt in the coming years.

Quote

In a recent interview with the Swiss newspaper NZZ a, Sonntag, Mr. Gruebel explained that negative interest rates are having an adverse effect on fiat currencies. “Negative interest rates are crazy,” he said, adding “That means money is not worth anything anymore.”

Gruebel stated that as long as interest rates remain in place, the financial industry as a whole will continue to shrink. Last month, the European Central Bank (ECB) decided to cut interest rates to -0.5% and Marilyn Watson, global fundamental bond product strategy team head at Black Rock, explained that there is potential for interest rates to go more negative, especially in Europe and in Japan.

Countries such as Venezuela or Argentina are registering very high inflation rates. While Venezuela is currently in a hyperinflationary spiral, Argentina could shortly follow Venezuela’s steps. Populist governments are printing money trying to convince their populations that owning more coloured papers would make them wealthier.

This is where gold and Bitcoin (BTC) could eventually become important for society.

Source.

As the fiat money is losing its value, more and more people will realize that it is time to get into the Bitcoin bandwagon as a way to partially protect their wealth and investments. That time is coming soon. We who are the pioneers in cryptocurrency have many things to thank for that we are involved at the right time.

Fiat money still worth by using in traditional market with bitcoin and gold become most profitable currency for the future, if bitcoin price like today maybe many people do not agree with bitcoin as good currency because price dump, when bitcoin back again to higher price almost many investor try to make bitcoin dump and panic selling almost every investors.
2114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Statement against people who say Bitcoin is a Scam on: October 24, 2019, 02:24:16 AM
I always find people who think that Bitcoin or cryptocurrency assets are busting money and sometimes there are people who always assume that investing in bitcoin is fraught with hacker risk.
on the other hand I cannot assume that their opinions are wrong, but on the other hand I cannot justify their statements.
I always think that people who have opinions like that are people who don't really know about blockchain technology, or they just read from one of the articles that happens to provide news about a "dark" case in bitcoin, so they often assume that bitcoin is a range against hackers and scam.

what do you think about finding people like that and how will you react to them?
I'll do nothing, why do we have to make everything clear? I mean why don't they just do their own research? if that's what they think of bitcoin then let them. We don't have to prove anything to anyone besides we have different perspectives, we just need to accept it and understand them since they don't have enough knowledge they'll judge bitcoin anyway so just ignore them. They don't understand that it is not bitcoins fault to be involve in scam situations, people was taking advantage and use it to deceive others because of the benefits they wanted.
Lets him think about want to said with bitcoin scam or not, for me if give profit every moment I will joined and invest my money with bitcoin and altcoin without care about people said, many people do not know with bitcoin and only focus when bitcoin down make bad news with bitcoin scam, when bitcoin up they will silent and never show again for saying bitcoin scam.
2115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in football on: October 23, 2019, 05:04:46 PM
On Saturday the 19th I was at a pub and grill with friends for a birthday. While I was there I happened to look up at one of the tv screens and a football match was on. I do not watch football nor do I know much about the leagues. I understand how the game works and that's about it. While I was watching I noticed something but just to make sure I asked the table if they saw it too and they confirmed it. (there were 5 of us at the table 2 of which know and understand bitcoin and how it works they just don't own their own crypto I don't know why) What we saw was the bitcoin logo BTC on the sleeves of Watford FC players. I was excited and glad to see it. I asked a friend at the table what they thought the sponsor was from and he said probably an exchange.  Turns out that the Turkish exchange BtcTurk was the Watford shirt sponsor and BtcTurk have sponsored Yeni Malatyaspor, a Turkish club.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/premier-leagues-watford-fc-puts-bitcoin-logo-on-kit-accepts-btc
https://www.ccn.com/turkish-bitcoin-exchange-becomes-footballs-first-ever-crypto-shirt-sponsor/

You can find out more with a simple google search as well. Smiley

Has anything like this happened to you when you didn't expect it? What did the people with you at the time have to say?
Foot ball not only an entertainment for today but also foot ball become industries how to get much money and profit, many foot ball club today looking for money by selling their player and buy player for development and have good skill to sell with other club, if foot ball club using bitcoin for every transaction I think they get advantage with bitcoin price up down for less inflation than using fiat money.
2116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam Projects and Bounty . Way forward?? on: October 23, 2019, 04:37:27 PM
So far this year , a lot of scams have occurred in the crypto sphere ranging from projects scamming investors and as well as projects not paying hunters for their works.

What do you think can be done to counter this ill manner behaviors that has been painting cryptocurency bad?

i think the only counter is knowledge
as once you become knowledgeable about cryptocurrencies and the current technologies and what can and can't be currently done
you never fall for scams, they all become super ovbious.
People just need to gain more knowledge in crypto, and NEVER invest in something you dont fully understand

Many bounty campaign scam because not get goal target of coin sold, many ICO do not get soft and hard cap coin sale to the investor and make bounty campaign scam, but many bounty campaign scam by bounty manager with not distribution for every participants, some time bounty campaign manager take moment with distribution after price dump and they earn profit early with sell higher price.
2117  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Over? on: October 23, 2019, 11:16:53 AM
To kickstart crypto 2019 I decided to make a Bitcoin mini documentary: https://youtu.be/WgxD5DmS6z8

Things I talked about:

1. Bitcoin's intrinsic value
2. How it could help underdeveloped countries
3. How it could help developed countries
4. Censorship

Now I wanna ask your opinions on my main point which is:

"Bitcoin's intrinsic value is the amalgamation of the platform, its users, and its development."

Now I know some other more famous crypto influencers have mentioned things like decentralization, cost of production, etc., but I think those things are a means to an end and not the endgoal themselves. Like decentralization is for the purpose of censorship resistance and fraud prevention.

So you I wanna know your opinions guys. Agree or disagree doesn't matter as long as you explain your point. https://youtu.be/WgxD5DmS6z8
Bitcoin is not over until several year later, I trust with bitcoin become very good investment for the future with higher price. When bitcoin down we can invest again and sell after bitcoin up, not have to worried when some time bitcoin at lower price because give us chance to get much money with re investing and use other way how to get profit with bitcoin and altcoin investment.

2119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: your opinion about this investment strategy on: October 23, 2019, 06:26:39 AM
hi
I was introduced recently by a friend to the crypto world. I've been doing some reading about the reality of this ecosystem, creation of bitcoin and then alt coins, market experiences, the different projects objectives, a bit about the theory behind them incl pros and cons, and so on (I am a .net programmer and would like to think tech savvy, but had always ignored this field) and well ... I decided to invest 2K right away

I made some investment choices but then read a bit more and decided to re-balance it in the following manner:

BTC 36%
ADA 23%
XRP 21%
EOS 8%
QTUM 7%
XML 3%
ATOM 2%

On top of this, I am considering investing $250 every month (of course I will be flexible depending on markets prices but take this as an estimate) in the following proportion

BTC 50%
ADA 25%
either EOS, XRP or BCT the rest 25%
note: for some reason I am not a fan of ETH and trust in the potential of ADA much more

I am far from rich, especially because I live in a very expensive city, but I have a decent paying job and I try not to overspend; so as part of my savings strategy [for early retirement] I am saving 2-2.5K every month and transferring it to a money market account (and then CDs) so at least it can grow a bit in time (not counting growing inflation)

This good friend mentioned to me the so-called 1 BTC rule and I have been giving some thought to this idea. Purchasing 1 BTC would not be a problem [in the affordability sense] but then I think about the other tenet which talks about only investing in crypto what you can afford to lose. If I lost the invested 2K I would be really pissed off but I would get over that. Now shelling 8K for 1 BTC would not kill me either but It would certainly impact my plans for an early retirement

What is your perspective on this situation?

Nice investment strategy where you spent your money with several altcoin kinds without except bitcoin as your destination investment, you can invest with your strategy but you have ready much money and you faced less percentage risk if you invest with many altcoin kinds, you can invets with how strategy you describe for us and I think is have big chance to get profit.
2120  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat currencies on: October 23, 2019, 06:14:52 AM

And why the euro value is higher then usd but USA dollar is still dominant, do you think that usd will be replaced by euro?

What's Ur take on that?

I don't see that being realized because dollar has already dominated in world wide trading activities. Even the countries that make up the euro currency, are trying to breakout and that might make the euro to drop if it happens. For instance, England with the brexit agenda is fighting seriously to go off from the euro currency.
Well, I don't think that will happen. As we all know the USA is a powerful country and there's no way that they will allow that dollar will lose it's popularity or might get weak. I do believe that they are working so hard on it and they are fully developed country. Well, dollar is dominant because it is universal money. You can use it in every country of this world. Probably the country of the USA is one of the most powerful country.
EURO still dominace than USDT and euro never replace for usdt, how ever if bitcoin become popular transaction payment USDT still dominance as transaction payment, many country still use USDT as fiat transaction for export and import their commodity to other country, USDT keep stable coin using by many government for every transaction and can not replace by bitcoin or altcoin.
