... To make a long story short, MSI AB was claiming it was changing the clocks of my RX 560s to 1200/1900, but GPU-Z was reporting they were still at the stock settings of 1295/1750. Inserting an HDMI dummy plug on the first card caused the desired clock values to show up in GPU-Z, Cryptonight hashrate increased by 11% overall (with most from the card with the dummy plug) and Ethash hashrate increased by 8% on the card with the dummy plug while remaining the same on the other 2.
I bought the one dummy plug for my first RX 570, but it didn't appear to need it so this may be specific to Baffin cards or because of the iGPU on the Celeron or even the Onda BIOS. Dunno, and since the dummy plug is a cheap solution I'm not going to worry too much about it.
cause you run windows. those boards are not good for windows if you want windows on slot boards use the 8 slot onda b250. the d1800 is a great board for smos it is a less then great board for windows. I've given SMOS a good hard look and I've concluded it isn't right for me at this time. This is because I am trying out lots of different things with two very different rigs to gain (hopefully valuable) experience and SMOS just isn't that flexible. It seems more suited to multi-rig farms where most if not all of the rigs are assigned one particular coin (or, at least, algorithm) and pretty much left on auto-pilot. Me, I've just got 5 rigs and 3 of those only have a single GPU, so I have to be a lot more nimble about what I am mining at any given time and I am still very much "learning on the job" here, as evidenced by my posts above! I will definitely try out SMOS in the near future, but can't see deploying it in set-and-forget mode for several months, at least. My group's GPU farm is set on algo mining --- so MPH and NH are ideal for this strategy. SMOS works very well and stable with both pools. The customization and tweaking actually lies mainly at function and features of the miner app (Claymore, tpruvot etc.) and not SMOS. But then again, the farms are now 96 x rigs strong and perhaps SMOS may not appear attractive if your have only a few rigs. I have a few windows rigs but the smos is as high as 20 rigs and 100 cards. No way am I doing 20 windows rig.

now that the product is finalized and almost ready to ship out, can you please provide the full dimension of the pods? i.e. Len x wid x height
Has this been answered? Here a quote from sidehack on page 22 I believe. answers part of the question haha. Oh no, it's much smaller than that. Fans are about 50mm. The whole thing is 100mm square. One of these days I'll post a quick sketch of dimensions with corner screw sizes and locations, height with fans, jack positions and the like. Right now my little guy keeps dropping out, but it's because my Pi locks up. Not sure exactly why and there's a lot of info on here how to prevent that. It's not exactly a new unit and my SD card might be lousy. Gonna talk to Phil about a good reliable setup, he's pretty good at Pi stuff. If we (and the Minera guy) can figure out something decent I'll try and make a Pi controller a kit option. So about 3.98 inches squared not bad.

I read the article. And it's 13% per month difficulty is way off. The article stated difficulty doubling every 5-6 months. But in actuality, it more than doubled in under 3 months! I used the mining calculators in the last week of Nov. 2017. I took a snapshot of how much bitcoin an S9 makes and it was only 0.92 bitcoin back then. Today an S9 only makes 0.43 bitcoins. Regardless of the price of bitcoin, that's more than a 50% drop in under 3 months. If this continues an S9 won't make much bitcoins, but it can still be profitable if the price of bitcoin moves up exponentially. If the price stagnates, you can forget about making a profit even with so called "free electricity". If difficulty continues to shoot up exponentially, bitcoin mining will go the way of dash mining! So all cryptos designed this way will become unprofitable to mine eventually, once difficulty gets high enough.
Yeah price rise > diff rise s-9 is great price rise = diff rise s-9 is good price rise < diff rise s-9 is bad the ratio varies diff rise for 2017 336,899,000,000 to 1,931,136,000,000 = 5.73 to 1 diff rise for 2016 113,354,000,000 to 336,899,000,000 = 2.97 to 1 diff rise for 2015 43,971,000,000 to 113,354,000,000 = 2.57 to 1 diff rise for 2014 1,418,000,000 to 43,971,000,000 = 31.00 to 1 damn diff rise for 2013 3,249,000 to 1,418,000,000 = 436.44 to 1 damn diff rise for 2012 diff rise for 2011 diff rise for 2010 diff rise for 2009

Question for fellow Onda D1800 users: I just found out that AMD cards don't get along with the integrated GPU if the latter is enabled, but I've also read of quite a few horror stories about the external GPUs not outputting video if the iGPU is disabled on the Onda boards. Any advice on how or whether to proceed would be appreciated as my plan was to make one of these D1800 into a dedicated Cryptonight miner and I've already acquired (4) RX 560 for that purpose.
The D1800s are quite easy to deploy, I have older reference 580s, 1050tis, 1060s on XMR/Cryptonite with SMOS booting up without touching them BIOS settings, in production right now. The one condition that I discovered discussed here many posts ago was the first GPU must be a non-mining card (with video output), remaining cards can be mining cards. Yes, I should clarify that my two D1800 have been working quite well - one filled out with GTX 1060's and the other getting filled out with RX 560s - but a comment made in another thread got me to do some more poking around and it turns out my RX 560s aren't working quite as well as they could (actually, I already knew that, but just assumed I got unlucky in the silicon lottery). Bump looking for an answer as to where to place this thread.
Fwiw, I feel like the altcoin mining community is somewhat distinct from the rest of the altcoin section (edit - so I would keep it in the altcoin mining sectoin). From what I see, many here don't necessarily care much about the specific coin they're mining, only that it gets them the best return (lately people talk more about $, but I think a lot of altcoin miners are doing it to trade them for btc - I fall in that camp). In my case I can fully control my power cost. up to 13-15kwatts 24/7/365 Due to the solar array deal I have with forum member buysolar . So I am in gpu camp more then asic camp Simply due to long warranties with good service. which in turn means more altcoin then BTC. I have a ratio of coins to asic gear to gpus to cash to debt to power cap to heat cap to sales of gear that I juggle to earn profit.

I don’t have much Merit to give but I’m going to give it up until it’s all gone. ...
...
You da man. Thanks
Edit: oh, let me know the link when you start it so I can put it in my OP.
I gave first point out will give 25 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2970278.msg30555247#msg30555247My points will be for miners of altcoins but since I do all pow coins I may or may not restrict to altcoins. I do not like POS coins due to a PPC issue years ago and will not give out a merit point for heavy POS coin promotion.

I'm just not grokking it. Hello fellow Heinlein follower! Good book I read most of his books over the year.

I am fine with him only accepting paypal. But so far no one has gear. I am not fine with that.
It is hard for me to look at this section and pick a guy out as a scammer or not. I also think paypal is fine for the op to use. Even paypal only is fine.
But if 20 people buy from him using paypal and no one gets gear and all 20 people need to put in a paypal claim that is not fine.
So I simply ask has anyone received gear?
If so please show us some proof.
This section has a lot of scams really long list of them I get tired of trying to sort them out. I have better things to do in life.
I also have a conflict of interest as:
a) I am a leading escrow guy b) I do sell gear
So this makes me a competitor to the op.
That is why I just ask has anyone received gear from this thread?

Changed the title. As I think this is best spot for thread. I have given 1 merit point I will give 25 away on this thread. I decided to do this as I read a few other threads with merit point giveaways. Made it public as I would like to allow altcoin mining community to chime in I also do not want to make waves. I want to have a merit point give away thread designed for altcoin miners. I am basing it on this thread and my posts with op of this post. I don’t have much Merit to give but I’m going to give it up until it’s all gone. I’m not sure if this is the right section for this thread because I’m not really selling anything. It’s about accounts so I’ll just leave it here until someone decides to move it. I don’t know if this is wrong to do. I don’t care if I get negative trust for doing this because I don’t buy anything here, sell anything here, join signature campaigns or post routinely in threads that even show the trust rating. Essentially I don’t make money here so I don’t use trust anyway.
I felt sorry for SOME of the members that posted in the merit thread. They seemed to be fairly articulate, fairly knowledgeable, rational and really trying to be members of this group of dreamers (community).
Here’s how it’s going to work. You’re not just going to beg for merit and I give it. Do not PM me and offer to pay me for merit points. Your money means nothing to me. I have given away more bitcoin than you will likely earn while on this forum (just ask Gleb Gamow if you don’t believe me). I will report you to a mod that will give you negative trust for being a potential scammer. You will ask me to research your post history and direct me to 10-20 posts that you believe show you have a deep desire to learn about, use, and support bitcoin. I will then ask you a couple of questions about how bitcoin works and you will answer them. I don’t care if you take some time to research the answer if you come up with the correct answer. That just means I’ve made you learn more about bitcoin than you knew previously.
Bitcoin does not mean altcoin. I know altcoins are more popular on this forum than bitcoin. I don’t care. I will only help bitcoiners level up. If most of your post history is in altcoin threads I won’t help you. I do not consider Bitcoin Cash to be bitcoin. If you don’t know what the real bitcoin is then you haven’t been here long enough for me to help you. Which leads me to the group I’m willing to help.

Full members, Sr. Members and Hero Members really got screwed with the merit system. Some of them were really close to leveling up and now have to wait until they’ve impressed the right person to probably get only one merit point from them. The most extreme case of this is Hero Member. They may need hundreds of merit points to level up which could take a very long time to get.
You will be working for 20 merit points. Good luck to all. I will announce when they’re gone and lock the thread.
If you don't care about the things i care about, just go away.. Wow! How..er..um..Legendary? Sheesh. I gave you a merit point. I think you are correct . I do not think the op is correct to exclude altcoin and reward bitcoin . But I also think he is entitled to give his points anyway he wants since the points are his to give. Meanwhile enjoy the merit. I’ve said before in this thread that I don’t know enough about altcoins to be able to judge the quality of their participation but you do. I would love to see one of these type threads start in the altcoin section and one in each local sub for non English speaking people. Why don’t you start a thread in altcoin discussion since you’ve been a core altcoin person for a long time? It would be a great service to your community and it would help people become involved in altcoins. Or, if not you, maybe you know someone that could do it. I gave you 1 point as it is a good suggestion and I will take you up on it. You da man. Thanks Edit: oh, let me know the link when you start it so I can put it in my OP. Well that question came quickly enough ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Yeah as long as you buy the second one for 399. But seriously if you want just one of the rx 580's it will be 349 free shipping. I have decided to dump all amd gear. I even have an rx 460 slim https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150788which I would sell for 135 mostly it has a killer form factor. this is good for a small build more for a real rig then anything else. so 5 cards if anyone wants all 5 I will toss in a mobo. Updates below: I have a buyer for the two rx580's I am sending the gigabyte rx 560 to a developer this leaves me with the powercolor rx 560 4gb and the slim xfx rx 460 4gb both have boxes and are ready to go.
